JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Morning Devotional...

I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.
1 Corinthians 2:2

God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Galatians 6:14

Paul was a graduate, a linguist and a scholar. He could have debated with the very best of Corinthian philosophers but he was determined not to become occupied with human wisdom.

Salvation was to be found only in Christ crucified.

The cross may be a stumbling-block to Jews, and foolishness to Greeks, but it was the heart of the gospel, and this alone he would preach.
                                                                   --Jim Flanigan

The cross of Christ is all my boast,
His blood my only plea;
My passport to the realms of bliss
is "Jesus died for me."

Hi Guys

PAt is a night Hawk I guess that makes me an Owl......What a barn owl Pat?

Melaura had a good evening at cadets. I have been busy with Christmas.  Melaura put out my lights and she is asking for more.  I agree they are so pretty.  We are alone on the hill and the lights show for miles.  Perhaps I will get another strand or two.

We have a birthday coming up on Wednesday.  Kassie is 9.  Not to the double digits yet but getting there.  The song "Wednsday's my birthday" is being sung.  If ever there was a child that was a nagger it is Kassie. She is as relentless as a dog with a bone!

Melaura is still in a lot of pain.  I worked on calling her Dr all day today and it was for nowt.  The messages on the machine caused me to be booted every time.   Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr  :o

Well It is late and I have a big day ahead of me tomorrow.  so night all and the rest on EST time "Go to bed"

Love JudyB

Hi, JUDY B and RACHELLE~  I did get out of the house for a while today/yesterday. I went to the library <got the Purpose Driven Life> and then to the doctor's office for my flu shot.   :-\  I decided this would be a good thing to do this year.  I have no reason for that decision except there seemed to be a "prompting" to do it.  I usually rely on Echinacea and Goldenseal.  Maybe the Lord was trying to take care of something before it could happen, y'think?  He does things like that!   ;)
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

JudyB

Hi Jane.  Yes it is always wise to follow God's promptings.  I heard a story about an alcoholic who decided to commit suicide.  He sold insurance and a lady was told by God to go into the insurance office and tell this man that Gos loves him.  She did, thinking she was crazy, and the man broke and gave his life to Christ.   This man goes to the guest speakers (from Sunday) church.  All I can say is WOW.  Yes follow the promptigs! ! ! !

Good Morning from sunny England.

I have spent a few minutes reading the posts from your yesterday evening, written while I was in  bed counting "Margit and Chris"...Private Joke!

Pat Thank-you for this morning's devotional.  Very apt., Also I do agree with your comments re Revelation and this Web site. I know Paul said "in Season and out of season", sometimes this can be taken out of context. Paul came to "Testify the Gospel of the grace of God" Acts 20:24.

The important thing is as Christians that we continue to "Love one Another....this is the fulfilment of the law".

My prayer is that any lost and searching souls coming upon this site for the first time might stop and say "Oh how they love one another" because we do all love one another, even as our Dear Lord Jesus loved us first. They are so welcome to join us and hear the Good News of our Saviour Jesus Christ.

Judy I so hope Melaura is feeling better today.  You certainly have a lot of nursing to do in your household.  Hang on in there sis.  things will improve.  I would love to see your home all lighted up.  You have extended your Christmas I gather into November.  Enjoy!

Rachelle Hello again.  It is lovely to see your dear face again around here.

Jeanne   Congratulations

Until Later,
Remember the words of the Lord Jesus

I got my flu and pneumonia shots yesterday too Jane.

I woke up at 2:00a.m. and couldn't go back to sleep, that is 2 nights in a row. I have a slight headache this morning.  But God will give me the strength to get through this day.

Last night I heard a kind od sizzling noise and looked down at a socket I could see it sparking underneath the plate. I hit it with my hand and it stopped but Icalled thelandlord and he came down and  shut the power off to that circuit. The electrician will be here this evening to see what it is. Kind of scary. Don't want to burn up.

Got to go now.

Hi everyone.  After several days of beautiful, sunny and warm weather we are having a day of mist and light rain but still to be in the 70s.

Judyb, I can't image seeing 6 inches of snow so early in the year.  Do you have a power snow blower or do you have to use ths old fashioned snow shovel?  I don't even own a snow shovel because if we ever get enough snow that would require shoveling, I am staying in the house.  With the condition of my heart I couldn't use it anyway.

Boots and Janet, I relate to the four rooms and a path and still remember those cold winter days in NW Missouri and the trips to the outhouse.  I was in my teens  before I ever had a room of my own (always slept on a daybed in the dining room) or we had indoor facilities and believe me I really appreciated both.

Marilyn, do hope your computer comes today.  A bit frightening about the sparking wire and sure a good thing you noticed it.  Don't think I would have wanted to touch the wall pate, however, that could have been a bit of a shock.  Hope the headache goes away and that you are able to sleep tonight.  Must be anticipating that new computer!  ;)

Pat, hope your trip to London goes well today.  The students at the dental colleges do good work but very, very slowly.  I can remember how tired my jaws would get from holding my mouth open so long.  One of the things I really like about our current dentist is that he works very quickly, no wasted motions.

Happy Birthday, Vivian.

Jeanne, congratulations on the 1000 posts.

Well, I promised I wouldn't write such a long post today so will stop for now and see if I can figure out the Hymn title that Lee h as for us in the little puzzle today since no one has yet given the title. (Edit:  I think I know the title:  "Take My Life and Let It Be" )

Lee -- Take My Life and Let It Be (consecrated Lord to Thee)

Hi everyone.  Travis is being a toddler, so I can't stay any one place for too long.  He is "writing" right now, so I need to go and make sure he is "writing' on the paper, not himself, the wall, the bedspread, etc.  ;D

It is now 9:44 AM and we have come home from our nice swim, ready to face the day, whatever it brings!

Larry, my parents always had running water in the house, and a bathtub; but we had the old outhouse.  After I married, my husband installed a toilet for them, so they had it for their older years.  I'm sure it was a big relief to them, not to have to go out in the cold and the dark to the outhouse any more.

Jane, we got flu and pneumonia shots last week.  Last year was the first year we took flu shots.  Like you, I had always depended on ecinacea (sp) and lots of vitamin C.  We use vitamin C and Zinc a lot when we feel a cold or sore throat threatening to "get" us---plus big doses of prayer!

Hi, Jenny!  Enjoy your day alone with God!  You are in the best of company today.

JudyB, I am glad that snow is not here!  I'm not ready for that yet!  It is still cool and damp feeling here, actually had some water on the drive this morning, from dew, I guess.

Larry, your posts are never too long.  I always enjoy them so much.

Pat, I hope you have a good day today, and we will ALL be relieved when you get your teeth all done!  Not a fun thing, but necessary.

Marilyn, enjoy that new Dell, with all its bells and whistles! ;D  Boy!  I am so glad you heard and saw that problem with the outlet!  That is very dangerous!  God is so good, to allow us to see danger in time to avert problems.

Jeanne, welcome to the 1000 club!!  I must be way too gabby, I passed that mark some time ago.   :-[

Hello, Ria!  I hope you have a wonderful day!  You, too, Rachelle---enjoy the fruits of your labor in the house.

Hi Carol!  Nice to see you this morning.  How are you doing?

Tenderheart, good to hear from you, too.  I know it must be really busy in your little house these days, with the new baby and all.  Give him a little cuddle for me!

Lee, wish Vivian a happy birthday from me, please.

Edit:  Hi there, Karma!  Happy to see you, even for a short visit!  Travis keeps you on your toes, for sure, but these are precious days, and I know you and Nard treasure them.

I found the solution of not losing posts.....don't try to post at night on NEM!!!  I use notpad and then copy and paste it to the posting area.  Learned to do that when I used to lose posts all the time.  Then I still had the notepad.  That is, when I keep notes.

Today is a day that I am rushing through.  I am going to Jerry's and take him to the grocery.  Then we are eating at his place and then going to the small groups meeting.  Remember I am taking snacks tonight so need to get there a little bit earlier.  Hope they enjoy the snacks!!!

Marilyn ~ I know you are excited to get your new computer.  Whew!  What a scare about your electricity.  I remember that some older mobile homes have the wrong wiring....either copper or NOT copper...I can't remember which.  I am sure the electrician will verify if what you have is okay.  Just so glad you were home and where you 'heard' the frying.

I got an email from Homestead today saying if I do so and so then I will be capable of updating my Webpage...don't have time to do all they want me to do today....so tomorrow!!!

Another thing you can do if you are afraid you might lose a post is to copy it by selecting and right clicking.  Then, if it gets lost, you just have to paste it in the text box.

I do this if I am posting when I think Pat is locking the door, or if I have typed something really profound and I don't wnat ot lose it under any circumstances (I don't do it much!! :P)

Take care all.

Etta, if they don't like the refreshments, send 'em my way!!! :P

Nita

Just popping in to say hello from my rainy corner of the world. (right near Jane's rainy corner of the world. haha)

My new Olympus camera came last night!  I was going online to check to see if it had been shipped, when up the driveway drives the Airborne Express truck.  I almost ran to greet him. :)  I DID have the door opened before he left his truck.

Today Kim and Angel both have appointments with the eye doctor.  They want to check Kim's eyes, and will check Angel's also to see if she might be a candidate for contacs.  I sure hope so.

I'm heading to Al's MARK now.  Thanks for the reminder Jenny.

I'm always so blessed by the devotionals.  Thank you dear ones who put such loving effort in blessing the rest of us.

 love, nita

I love snow.

I love to see snow.

I love to watch snow.

I simply despise HAVING to travel in snow.  Too many crazy people on the road.  Well, just too many people on the road in general.  Snow in Western North Carolina basically means huge traffic jams, such that you never know if you are going to spend the night in your car or simply be 6 hours late getting home.

Karma thinks snow is awesome.  She's a sweetheart, but I very rarely have stars in my eyes because of snow... It's usually dread, I think.

Did I mention that I actually enjoy DRIVING in snow - when I have the proper equipment and don't have TOO far to go to safety.

Everybody have a great day!
I survived open heart surgery.... :)

Brrrrrrrr it is COLD

It is minus 2*C

Nards as long as I can just look at it I am fine but the cold seeps into the bones.

Our Furnace fan is not working.   ??? :'( ::)
Why I have no clue.  $65 to have someone to just come in the door then parts above that.  If it takes more than 1/2 hour it is then an additional $65 an hour.  I think I am in the wrong business!!! :o
If it isn't the water pump it will be the furnace.   >:(

Just in from the Dr (for me) and he has me on antidepressants.  That will help me get the reserves back that stress has taken....

Well it is almost 1:00  Melaura's Dr will be in soon so I will start calling again.  Etta Sue  We love hugs! Thankyou from both of us.

Bye now Have to call the furnace repair man.

Love Judy

A bright, sunny day here on the island.  Rather chilly and crisp at the moment....but not a snowflake in sight.  Sure don't miss those Calgary winters.

What great long posts this morning!  Glad you got your new computer Marilyn.  My plan is to get a digital camera when all the travel dust has settled in Jan. 04.

I am going to go down to our lovely Senior Centre and carpet bowl one game...then walk to Al's and take him a little treat of flowers...if I can find some nice one's here in town.  He loves flowers.  Guess that is partly due to coming from Holland...right Ria?

Far too many people to send messages to...tho' thanks Jenny, will go visit Al's Mark.  Hope everyone has a happy day.  Hope Pat's dentist is gentle...God Bless.

Some good news!

CBS has apparently pulled its support for the TV docudrama
'The Reagans.'

NewsMax reports Tuesday that sources close to the
production say the film no longer has the support of the
CBS network.

The Hollywood Reporter revealed on Tuesday that "following
a storm of protest," CBS canceled the four-hour
miniseries.

The magazine said CBS chief Leslie Moonves decided the
film was unfair to the Reagans.

The New York Times reported Tuesday that "Under pressure
from Republicans and conservative groups, CBS is weighing
a decision to scrap" the movie.

This is a significant victory for NewsMax and its readers,
who drew attention to this malicious smear on President
and Mrs. Reagan.

NewsMax first blew the whistle on Barbra Streisand, and
her husband, James Brolin, who plays Reagan in the film.
In the July edition of NewsMax "Hollywood Naked" -- with
Streisand on the cover -- NewsMax first warned about the
CBS hatchet job planned on the Reagans.

You can check out our special report on Streisand and
Brolin by clicking here:
