JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Hi Everyone-
Sonja that was a great website that you and your daughter put together-I need to work on our home page-sometimes it seems like there is so much to do that I don't have time to work on those things-I know you homeschool-do you teach the pre k too? If so what curriculum do you use for her?

Thanks!

I do teach her.  I use abeka for her phonics and I use walmart books for writing and numbers.  I used the phonics through abeka when the boys were 3 and 4 and they learned to read fast.  And it was easy for them.  They are very good at reading now and are way past their grade level for reading.  Hope that helps.

Hello again

Sonja I like your web pages, you are very good. :)

Pat thanks for the devotion based on evening wolf. :)

We can never be too much off base by quoting Charles Spurgeon.    In the article today the Evening wolf, he made the comment "we are in most danger of them when they wear the sheep skin."

Have you ever wondered, or do you remember where the term dressed in sheep's clothing came from?  It does not matter, as you know I will tell you anyway. ;D ;D

One place was from one of Aesop's Fables, "Wolf in sheep's clothing".

"One day a wolf found a sheep skin and wrapped himself in it., and sneaked into the sheep pen.  He ate a lamb, and was sneaking up on another lamb when the shepherd caught him.  "Don't throw me out", said the wolf "I am one of your sheep." :'( :'(

"You are just pretending to be a sheep", said the shepherd.  "I am no fool you are a wolf".  >:( >:(
"How do you know", said the wolf, "I look like a sheep" "You look like a sheep, but you act like a wolf", said the shepherd.

The shepherd pulled a limb off a tree and beat the wolf.  The wolf jumped over the fence and never came back to the sheep pen again. :)

I remember hearing this old hymn, but cannot recall the words just at the moment.  "They will know we are Christians by our Love."  :)

Iain your excitement about you new Minister shows through in your writings.  We will all pray for spiritual blessings to come to your congregation. :)

Papa John, thanks again for your wonderful post.  It is such a blessing just to read your post, because I know they are coming from the heart. :)

Have a good evening
Boots

Boots~I have no idea where the Mother land is.  But if they drink tea, it can't be all that bad.  ;D

They do ruin it by drinking it hot, I hear.

9.50 p.m.  Motherland......

Hello Boots.  Here I am...Mother!

I am drinking my cup of very hot, lovely strong tea here in Birmingham, W. Midlands.  Near Stratford-on-Avon, and Coventry, etc., etc.,

Thanks Nards.....You evidently don't have good taste like Boots and me.  Sonja, you do. I will save you a cup.

I am only popping in...My cup of tea awaits. Steaming hot.

Bye.
Jenny.

Boots my brother...........

Go ahead and rub it in.  Our temp is 14 and our greens are frozen for the season.  Won't be able to play til May. >:(

I need you help on proper identification.  Some years ago I was on SeniorNet (I believe) and a gentleman named Boots was a flyer.  I have never forgotten his experience with his son.  Are you the guy?

Dear sister Jenny...........

If I were in Birmingham I'd take you to dinner and would buy you a big cup of nice hot coffee. ;D

Boots

Jenny I will be in York.  :)

Sonja You have figured it out by now,  We are in the "colonies" and England is the "Mother Land".  Just a bit of history. (big smile)  :) :)

nards I usually drink coffee, but in England I have both.  I love the afternoons for scones and tea, while in the "Mother Land" ;D ;D

Lee That was a different Boots, I can not fly a plane.  I think I remember you talking about that one, was he also a Doctor?

I will limit my "rub it ins" on the weather to no more than 2 times a week.  Maybe!!!  ;D ;D

Company coming this evening, so may not get back before tomorrow.

Coffee or tea, whatever is closest.  But this time of year it needs to be HOT!  Iced (either one) is fine in the hot humid days of summer, but I need something this time of year to warm these old bones from the inside out.   ;D

Papa John ~ As usual, it makes my heart smile when I see your green posts.  Keep on keeping on.

Jeanne & Sue ~ Since last winter was the second highest snowfall on record for Indiana, I am thinking this year surely will be less.  But like Sue, I doubt if I can avoid it if it snow is as plentiful as last year.

Rachelle ~ Congrats on the new monitor.  I have a flat monitor also.  I like it because the other one always had window reflections in it or my ceiling fan light.  This one doesn't.  Wonder why ALL TV's and Monitors doesn't have non-glare screens on them?  I had a TV once that had non-glare glass on the front and I loved it!!!

Jane ~ Isn't it wonderful when you truly feel God's presence and know he is satisfied with the way you are serving Him.

Chandraya ~ I really enjoy your new webpage.  Looks like you are really having fun growing up.  I like zebra's too.  They look like they are ready for bed.

Lee ~ I think I counted 6 baptisms and one witnessing.  I have never watched a baptism without tears of joy.  I know you and Vivian were truly blessed to witness this baptismal event.

Boots ~ No golf here today.  Too cold even for golfers.  6:50 p.m. 41°F

It has been a busy day.  First, as I was going to get online this morning, my SIL called and wanted to know if she could bring some photos over for me to scan and then make birthday cards for her....yes...she came...I did.  Then Jerry and I ate at a Steak House and then he got groceries at Wal-Mart.  I then took him home.  Since my returning home, I have talked to Ivalou on the phone and talked to Tony on the phone.  Also talked to Jerry on IM to tell him I was home.  So now it is time to shut this down and wqtch some TV.   Probably not.

Marilyn - I hope things are straightened out for you now.  Some of you are getting started on Chriiistmas cards already?  I enjoy doing them., its just finding time to get started!  With postage so costly, I'm going to cut back on how many I'm sending out this year.

Dear sister Etta Sue........

Many tears, and many witnesses.  The potluck was great.  Most of the folks were from another church than ours.  I even received an invitation to attend the last two sessions of the same book you folks are reading......"Purpose driven Life" from the fella that baptised Mary.  God is so good.

Pat

This is a "quiet" day for me.

I've just posted Lee's baptism photos.  What a wonderful service that must have been.

Go and see them.  They are wonderful!

It's been very cold here in Guelph today and I've just been reminiscing a lot.   I guess we all have these days from time to time.

GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS
(Click to here music)

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee.
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be.

Refrain:
Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy Faithfulness, Lord unto me.

Summer and winter and spring-time and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

Refrain

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thy own dear presence to cheer and to guide,
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

I've had a busy day, running around like a crazy woman, as our sweet Mieka would say.

I finally called the doctor's office back, after waiting 2 1/2 hours!  Then had to go to town to try to find the things they said Beth needs; then to Hugoton to pick up my large painting that was at the photographers.

I went and visited in Abby's class for about an hour, then went to the chiropractor and got an adjustment.  Then delivered some framing, visited a bit with Diane, Jeff and Abby, home, supper, more errands, got my stuff together for tomorrow's painting meeting, and TA-DA!!  Here I am!!!  (Now, wasn't that just fascinating?) ;D

Judy, I will answer your question about Beth in the prayer thread.  I need to bring everyone up to date on her.  Thanks for asking.

Jane.......(((((((((hugs)))))))))))  You are so special! :)

I think I will go look at Lee's photos--see ya later!

I am just having quite a time today. I want to put all my address into Outlook Express, I had them all printed out and now I can't find them. Knowledge Delay. Duh.

Been playing with the photos just can't seem to keep my hands off this computer.

Tomorrow I have to go see someone who is going to put the window up in my car, won't be able to use it but at least it will be up inthe winter. Now I will be able to see out the window, I almost got hit yesterday 'cause didn't see the pickup. Good thing he saw me.

Sister Jane W.............
In opening CP this morning, you post touched my heart...  I can tell you that your post was beautiful and it came from your heart... In fact Jane, what you wrote should be said openly, and repeatedly by all of us daily...  I'll tell you exactly how much your post means to me......I'm going to address everyone from now on as Brother/ Sister when I come into this forum and I'm starting with you.
Brother Lee ... Thank you for your kind, sincere words this morning.  :-[ I often feel overwhelmed by His love and most of the time there just aren't words enough to adequately express my heart.   :)

I also wish to reply to MARILYN because you "spoke" to me early in the day, as well.  I understand your heart.   ;)

Here it is a big Friday night and the first time I've been here on NEM.  Thanks for the devotional, Pat.  I really did like Charles Spurgeon's tale.  It was so different..but praying  about helping the lost, complaining, hurting Christian is a must!  Just this week we had a newcomer in the church say he overheard someone talking about him and his family.  It hurt his feelings.......we all reassured him that we love him & God loves him even more.  We apologized for any one at our church that would say anything against him or anyone else.  Satan does try to get a hold of us when we seem to be going along a smooth path or when we are having revival in our hearts.
We asked him to pray for the ones who hurt his feelings and we would do the same.  No names...but God knows.

Thank you, SONJA~  I love you, too.  And like you I also do a great deal of reading and not replying.  :-[ Most of the time it's because I don't feel I have anything to add to the on-going conversation here, OR I get here way after whatever is being discussed is over and done with.   :-\ :P
