Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

Worship:
Made to Worship

The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none who does good.
--Psalm 14:1

Now we were made to worship, but the Scriptures tell us something else again. They tell us that man fell and kept not his first estate; that he forfeited the original glory of God and failed to fulfill the creative purpose, so that he is not worshiping now in the way that God meant him to worship. All else fulfills its design; flowers are still fragrant and lilies are still beautiful and the bees still search for nectar amongst the flowers; the birds still sing with their thousand-voice choir on a summer's day, and the sun and the moon and the stars all move on their rounds doing the will of God.

And from what we can learn from the Scriptures we believe that the seraphim and cherubim and powers and dominions are still fulfilling their design--worshiping God who created them and breathed into them the breath of life. Man alone sulks in his cave.

Man alone, with all of his brilliant intelligence, with all of his amazing, indescribable and wonderful equipment, still sulks in his cave. He is either silent, or if he opens his mouth at all, it is to boast and threaten and curse; or it's nervous ill-considered laughter, or it's humor become big business, or it's songs without joy.
Dr. Tozer in Worship: The Missing Jewel, 6-7.

"Oh loving God, bring us out of the cave! Amen."

Thank you, Pat, for the good devotional message.

Well, Autumn is slowly coming to our area.  I took a picture or two this morning to use for pre-marital counseling.

This is one I selected, and later, put together.  Click on the pict for details.

Thank you for the devotional Pat, we are made to worship.

Wonderful picture Kevin, that is beautiful.

Well fall is in full swing here in NY and the leaves are beautiful. It is raining here as it has been for a while. I did get some pictures on Saturday even though it was overcast with a break here and there with some sun to brighten the leaves.

It's been busy between work and Michael and my folks. Yesterday was trash day so I did some cleaning in the basement to make room for my mom's scooter. Today is work.

Everyone have a Blessed day and enjoy the weather.

Blessings,
<><Jeannine

Above is my favorite animation.  Keep looking at it!!

Janet ~ No, in fact, I gave Barb the New Testament in The Message.  I computer made the card with a Florida sunset on it...does that count?

When I got up this morning, everything was frosty...only 28°F.  And the leaves were falling like snow.  My back yard under the maple tree is covered.  The front yard is covered and when I went out to get the paper last night there was hardly a leaf on the front yard.  And I am warm and toasty with the electric fireplace going.  Soon the solar heat will turn on and warm this place even more.

Hopefully Jake will call today and say he has the parts for my furnace...then I will rest easier.

Thanks for that piece by Tozer, Pat.  The Christian Sabbath is a subject almost completely ignored in our day - very, very few Christians have heard much teaching on it.  If we follow God's example, we will use the day to celebrate His goodness in our lives that has enabled us to accomplish things during the week.  We will rest from doing them and enjoy them - and the God Who enabled them.  To use the Christian Sabbath rightly is to rejoice in God's gracious provision.

Good Morning not much time here to address anyone, ever this is frozen here this morning and I have to get the ice off the car windows before I leave for Tai Chi, Then I am going to Curves to exercise I have a week free, the initiation fee will be waived when I show that I have had a mammogram in the past year. Mine was in April.
have a great day ll y-all.

Al I would love to hear some teaching  on theChristian Sabbth again, So many don't even know what we are to keep he sabbath holy and that it is a day of rest, not one for shopping and/or other work.

I tried to do a study on the Sabbath...more than once.  I couldn't find Scripture that truly made the change from Saturday to Sunday.  Church History, yes...but Scripture?  And I wondered why Jesus, who kept the Jewish Sabbath, never mentioned it in His teachings, looking ahead to Gentile believers.

So...I concluded that either Sabbath is still Saturday, or now "Jesus is the Sabbath", or everyday is a Sabbath, or every day is alike and we, as grafted in Spiritual Jews, are not bound by the literal Sabbath, but are invited to keep the Spiritual Sabbath.

I'd love to read more on this, probably won't agree with everything said without much question, haha...and probably here is not the place.

I am truly and sincerely wanting answers based on Scripture....as we all are.  Nita

The sabbath question is a prickly one sometimes, though it shouldn't be.  Briefly, though, here's the way I see it: Acts 20:7 says, "Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, ready to depart the next day, spoke to them and continued his message until midnight."  From this Scripture we draw the conclusion that it was the Ephesian disciple's custom to gather for the bread breaking (Lord's Supper) observance on the "first day of the week."  From Paul's standpoint, the "first day" was obviously Sunday, a day upon which it was surely appropriate to celebrate our Lord's Resurrection and all it meant for them (and us).  The fact that this seemed to be the custom at Ephesus is not dwelt upon, so we could conclude also that it was the custom throughout the early church.  Then, in Heb. 4, the inspired writer tells us that to enter into representation by Christ (faith in Him) is to enter into rest (Hebrew "Sabbath").  We enter that rest through faith in Him, so that He becomes our rest.  But He rose from the dead on the first day of the week, and that resurrection results in our rest before God - we celebrate our salvation on His resurrection day, since His resurrection inaugurated our rest.  For me, this means that Sunday, the "first day," is the Christian Sabbath because of His resurrection.

On the other hand, Paul tells us (Rom.14:6), He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it."  All of which just means that we shouldn't go around judging one another over what day we particularly observe.  I do think that we should take at least one day each week to celebrate what He has done for us.
