Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

"Ingratitude denotes spiritual immaturity. Infants do not always appreciate what parents do for them. They have short memories. Their concern is not what you did for me yesterday, but what are you doing for me today. The past is meaningless and so is the future. They live for the present. Those who are mature are deeply appreciative of those who labored in the past. They recognize those who labor during the present and provide for those who will be laboring in the future."

Morning Devotional...

But God who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath [made us alive] together with Christ (by grace ye are saved).
Ephesians 2:4-5

I had a recent experience where, according to a certain government computer record I was dead for two months!

The "undo" button on the computer brought me back to life.

God's records are infallable; my name is in the Book of Life.

What is your status?

Dead in sins or eternally alive in Christ?
—Duncan Maxwell

Sweet is the savour of His name,
Who suffered in His people's stead.
His portion here, reproach and shame:
He liveth now; He once was dead.

Jesus, Your Blood and Righteousness
(Click to hear music)

Author:  Nicolaus L. von Zinzendorf, 1700-1760
Trans. By John Wesley, 1703-1791
Musician:  William Gardiner's Sacred Melodies, 1815

I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God;
for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation,
he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom
decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

Isaiah 61:10

Jesus, your blood and righteousness
My beauty are, my glorious dress;
Mid flaming worlds, in these arrayed,
With joy shall I lift up my head.

Bold shall I stand in that great day,
Cleansed and redeemed, no debt to pay;
For by your cross absolved I am
From sin and guilt, from fear and shame.

Lord, I believe your precious blood,
Which at the mercy seat of God
Pleads for the captives’ liberty,
Was also shed in love for me.

Lord, I believe, were sinners more
Than sands upon the ocean shore,
You have for all a ransom paid,
For all a full atonement made.

When from the dust of death I rise
To claim my mansion in the skies,
This then shall be my only plea:
Christ Jesus lived and died for me.

Then shall I praise you and adore
Your blessed name forevermore,
Who once, for me and all you made,
An everlasting ransom paid.

I wanted to be the first post and try out the new smileys, so here goes....

Good morning Everyone, Hi Pat, thank you for this, it looks like a lot of fun.

Now I had better go to bed.    :-* :-* :-*

God Bless

Love Ruthie

Nita

Marilyn, you said, "Attention Nita you keep calling my babies the boys, Happy is the boy and Bebe is the girl."

BEBE, I am sooo sorry that I kept calling you a guy.  I'm sure you look really cute and I'm asking you to forgive me.   (Marilyn, be sure and give her a hug for me)

I LUV all the new smilies!  So cute.

Liz

I am trying to stay alert as it is now 9 PM here and Wendy & I are driving to town to pick Amanda up at a concert.  She has gone to hear/see the Canadian Idol winner, Teresa Sokyrka who is giving a concert.  It is to help ill children and she is giving 50% of the profits to charity.  Asking for stuffed toys, which Amanda brought along.  Was asked to go but not feeling like sitting thro' a concert today.  Like her voice tho' and she seems to be a really nice person.  Guess we will be leaving in another half hour, so had best drink some coffee.....

Surely do like the new smilies and great job!  You folks deserve lots of credit for all the hard work.  I am still trying to get used to the site....not spending much time at the computer right now.

Rain and typical fall weather here.  We are surely lucky compared to the terrible things happening in other parts of the world.  Sometimes I wonder why God allowed me to be born in such a wonderful country and not in one that is so terribly troubled.  Do you think that we will ever know the answer to such questions??  I have lived a long time and still feel so puzzled by the complexity of our world...... :-\

Misty is not enjoying the rain.  Brought her in early and she seemed happy to curl up on her blanket and listen to the radio that I put in the garage....Fed and dried off the neighbour's cat earlier...think he is going to have a very rough winter outside.  No more cats in here tho'.......

Loved your pictures, Etta Sue.  Good work.  I must get busy and take some again.
Hope TBear sold that house....miss her posting.  Nice to see others posting again and hope more will come to visit.

Here is a little joke that made me simile.  Hope it does the same for someone else....

Not Quite What He Wanted

A hunter raised his rifle and took careful aim at a large bear. When about to pull the trigger, the bear spoke in a soft soothing voice, "Isn't it better to talk than to shoot? What do you want? Let's negotiate the matter."

Lowering his rifle, the hunter replied, "I want a fur coat."

"Good," said the bear, "that is a negotiable item. I only want a full stomach, so let us sit down and negotiate a compromise."

They sat down to negotiate and after a time the bear walked away, alone. The negotiations had been successful.

The bear had a full stomach, and the hunter had his fur coat!

Hmmmm!  Possibly it is not always wise to negotiate..... :o :o

Pleasant evening all and God Bless.

Liz
CHANGE NOT THY FAITH WITH CHANGING TIMES

Janet

Liz, I wish our government officials had the wisdom at times not to negotiate!  Thanks for the smile.

Gord, good to see you again, and I pray your wife and you will love your new place and be blessed with good health to enjoy it.

Jane, so happy to hear you got your wheels back!  It will soon be too cold to walk very far.

Busy day today, so thought I would come and greet you all before I get out and about.  I won't be home until late tonight, probably.

Thanks, Oldiesman, for the cute new smilies.  I think I will try this one....

Hey, Karma and Nards!  How are you doing?? 8)

I wish you all God's blessings today.

Marilyn

Good Morning. Thanks you Pat for the devotional i am so thankful that God loved me even when I was living a sinful life. Also thankful that the Blood of Jesus washed me clean.

Back to the foot Dr. this afternoon for an xray. I am going to see if I can see Gloria today to pray to let her know that someone cares about her. It is such a shame that her daughter doesn't keep in touch with her. She has no family nearby.
No Tai Chi class today, they are doing building maintenance at the Senior Center and it is closed today.

Hello everyone.

Yes Nite ai have given Bebe a hug. Yesterday I put some flea stuff on Happys neck and behind and after I did that he acted real weird for hours. I don't think he liked the citrus scent on him.

Good morning all!  IT"S FRIDAY!!! and Bernard shouldn't have to work late.  WOOHOOOOOOOOOO!

We are thinking of going somewhere on his week off in October.  Any suggestions?  We have tentatively thought about the Shenandoah Valley, but aren't sure.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.  I have about 101+ things to do, so I'd better get crackin'.

I liked that, Liz.  Bear negotiations are always risky, expecially when they get down to the bare facts.

Well, we had our first SUNNY group meeting last night.  There were only six of us there, but it was a good time.  It's a Bible study, but more than a Bible study.  A very important part of it is prayer for one another.  We'd like to start more such groups in each area in which church pople live. <3

What next

Hi what do you  think about this one?!!!!
A Good Way to Begin the Day
1. Open a new file in your PC.

2. Name it "HOUSEWORK"

3. Send it to the RECYCLE BIN

4. Empty the RECYCLE BIN

5. Your PC will ask you, "Are you sure you want to delete Housework permanently?"

6. Answer calmly, "Yes," and press the mouse button firmly....

This is great!  Thank you Oldiesmann!

I copied this from the daily devotions that come in my email.

QuoteGrace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 1:7b

Grace designates all God's action toward us as free and good. Peace designates all the Spirit's work in us as whole and healthy. The two words are Paul's favorites in greeting his friends.
then, it goes on to ask how we greet people.

Pat:  Thanks for all your work.  I love these smileys.

I have been busy already this morning and I haven't even gone to work yet. After my breakfast I did the dishes and made a Tuna/macaroni salad  for the BBQ we are having tomorrow after the church work day. I had to pull the battery out of my smoke alarm because the steam from boiling the macaroni made it go off, and the smoke alarm is by the front door, but this small house----oh well you know the rest.

I called the hospital to check on Gloria and she is a little bit better today, awake but still on the ventilator they have notified her family.

off to work now.

Great Devotional.

Ingratitude not only applies to the children but to adults as well.

In my part of Ontario it is Sunny and cool but I love the fall season.

This morning when I was driving the children to school I encountered  C:-) police cars at the front of the Bank in Kleinburg - exciting it was a breakin or attempt - Yellow tape was across the front of the bank and yes that is where we do our banking.

Tomorrow I will be going to a memorial service in Burlington, Ont. ( a second cousin that had been unwell for a very long time)

Better get some work done before leaving for work.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Proverbs 3:6

Etta Sue

Pinkie ~ So glad to see you....wonderful that you stopped by and let us in on your goings-on!   <3

Marilyn ~ Glad you got someone to assemble your cabinets.  I have done so many cabinets, book shelves and chest of drawers, I think I am a professional.   I could have done them for you...if traveling would not have been an option.  Thanks for the cat emails.  Beautiful pictures.  ^-^  Do you have any animated cats?  That is what I like for CP.

Pat ~ You must have gotten some of our weather on up north.    My lights didn't go out but it was really windy and more rain.  I picked up some limbs in the yard, too.

JudyB ~ You tend to keep busy with all your house chores and the kids.    I can only imagine your stash in the freezer and in cans for winter.

Janet ~ We are taking turns furnishing the snacks for Small Groups.  So if you have any easy great ones, pass them on to me in an email, please.   ::)  We generally have a meat/cheese one, a veggie one, a salty one and a sweet one.

Al ~ You could have gone to the quilting group with Marbeth.  0:-)   I am sure you can hold a needle, can't you?  I agree with the new judge...we need all the conservatives we can get.

Jane ~ HI ! ! ! ! ! !  I am happy for you that you got your car back.   :laugh:When my car is unavailable to me...usually because I am snowed in, I can think of a dozen places to go and do things.  Now it is happy traveling to you!

Pat ~ He gave us our times and hold them in His hands.   :)

And I thought the smileys looked a little different...can't wait to try them out!!!  Thanks, Oldiesman!

Karma ~  Come on up!  We can go for some photo ops somewhere!  ;) :-*

Nita ~ That would be great to hear some of your midis.    I think Larry makes midis on his piano.  Am I right, Larry?

Larry ~ Beautiful day here today also.  Kind of cool...64°F.     But no A/C on...no heat on...just my solar heat going from the bright sunshine.

Carol ~ It is really fun to save songs and midi's on your pc.   :o  I know you will have fun doing so.

Gord Brown ~ Welcome back.  ^-^  Hope you bookmarked us so you can return often.

Sue ~ I just know that God will find the perfect job for you.   :PKeep up the faith.  Our jobs are an important part of our lives so we should really enjoy them.   <3

Ruth Ann ~ Get some rest so you can go again tomorrow.   :-*

Ruthie ~ Again The Gaither's are from my area...about 15 miles from me.  They are from Alexandria and they have a Gaither's Resource Center there.  It is kind of like a commission shop of crafts, plus a really, nice restaurant and a place to listen and watch the Gaither's music and videos.  A wonderful relaxing place.  And when the Gaither's are home, you might just see one of them.  Next to the center is a recording studio.   :D

Liz ~ Thanks.  I put some more pictures in the Gallery today.  Hope everyone takes a look-see.  It took awhile for me to get the 'negotiate' joke.  :uglystupid:   But I did.

Marilyn ~ When my sister and brother-in-law had their mobile home in Louisiana, he knew dinner was ready when the smoke alarm went off.       Mine in the mobile home would go off but stop when I turned on the ceiling fan.

Ruth ~ Bet the kids were excited to almost see a robbery!   C:-)  They will talk about it all day.

Hello all!

Etta -- One thing I found that is quite tasty and easy is to take a pound or two of Velveeta, a can of Rotel (mild or hot -- diced tomatoes with peppers and onion works well, too), and a 1/2 pound or pound of browned ground beef and mix together in a crock pot (obviously melting the cheese).  Serve with nachos.  If you want a bit more spicy, you could use sausage.

I would love to come up towards Indy, but right now I think Bernard is leaning toward the Shenandoah Valley.  If we can find a room.  This is their peak season, and most of what i have looked at is booked already. :(

Both kids are asleep right now, so I think I will mosey to the kitchen and get some stuff done!

Have an aweseome weekend ya'll!

karmat

Pat

Nice to see you Karma.  Hope you're getting your messages from me.

I stopped at the Hospital to see Gloria, she was asleep, still on the ventilator and tubes and wires everywhere. The nurse told me that when she gets off the ventilator they are going to take a biopsy of the lung tissue. Although they did use a scope to look at the lungs and they are clear no tumors or anything. She said it could be an infection in the lung tissue itself.  Gloria didn't know I was there, I prayed for her and committed her to God's perfect will. So sad to see her like that. :-\

Etta Sue I could have put it together  I have put lots of stuff together, but I wanted Gilbert to do it for me. He offers to help so I let him.

Be back later.

EttaSue, thank you for the confidence booster.  I never realized how tough or frustrating or stressful looking for work could be.  I have faith that the right one will come, and the help of a wonderful friend who revamped my resume is also greatly appreciated.

A quick sweet treat is to take a container of spreadable cream cheese and spread it over a plate or lipped cookie sheet.  Then spread over top of that some "carmel apple spread" (here in Canada this can be found in the refrigerated section of the vegetable dips in the produce dept).  Then take a couple of "Smors chocolate bars" and chop them.  Spread this on top as the final layer.  Take some green apples and slice.  Dip the apples into this and eat.  Ohhhhh so yummy and sweet, but very easy!

Now must head to bed as I must be at work by 5:00 am to complete my training for my new duties at the store.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  I am getting here really late this evening.  I have had a very busy day that started with coffee at the senior center.  Then I went to the main branch of the library and met with the lady who is presenting a program for our PC User Group on 10/14.  She showed me a new video about the library she will use and her PowerPoint presentation.  It should be a very interesting program.  I then got a haircut and when I got home my son was here and he did a few choirs for us.  Tomorrow he is going to install a screen door on our front door so we can get some cross current and have the door open.  So that will be the big project for tomorrow.  The rest of the day sped by, including a major shopping trip to Kroger's to stock up on groceries.

I have read all the postings but am just going to say goodnight as it is past my bedtime.  Hope to get here soon tomorrow with more time to post.

Pat
