Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

Morning Devotional...

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
Mark 8:36

In the independent republic of Singapore people speak about the Singapore Dream of five C's--

 • Cash
 • Condominium
 • Car
 • Career
 • Club membership
A person may have all of these and more, but have absolutely nothing without the most important C--Christ.

True riches are alone found in Him.

What about you?

Do you have Christ as your Saviour and Lord?
                                                              --W. Ross Rainey

None but Christ can Satisfy
(Click to hear music)

O Christ in Thee my soul hath found,
And found in Thee alone,
The peace, the joy, I sought so long,
The bliss till now unknown.

Now none but Christ can satisfy,
None other name for me!
There's love and life and lasting joy,
Lord Jesus found in Thee.

I sighed for rest and happiness,
I yearned for them not Thee;
But while I passed my Saviour by,
His love laid hold on me.

I tried the broken cisterns, Lord,
But, ah! the waters failed.
Even as I stooped to drink they fled,
And mocked me as I wailed.

The pleasures lost I sadly mourned,
But never wept for Thee,
Till grace the sightless eyes received,
Thy loveliness to see.

Pat........

Thanks for asking.  I publically claim Jesus Christ to be my Lord and Savior.

JudyB.......

In my humble opinion, I truly believe transportation companies are committing a crime when they send their drivers out onto the road with insufficient sleep.  I heard just today the most dangerous jobs in the uSA with the highest mortality rate are #1 Loggers, and truck drivers are in there among the top five.  Don't remember their #.  I have some pretty good knowledge of this because my son [was] a big rig driver.  No longer, because he was involved in two major accidents within a six month period.  One was a roll over, and another involving a death.  I'm almost certain he fell asleep on the roll over.  I have great respect for the drivers, and remember when we USED to call them the "White Knights" of the highways.

Amazing.  Vivian and I just finished watching a two part TV movie, "Gods and Generals" (Lent to us by our Christian neighbors).  The film may have been in theaters, but Vivian and I have never been to a movie theater, and don't plane on going in the future. The film centers on the Civil War and gives heavy weight to the south.  In fact it focuses on General Stonewall Jackson.  I recommend seeing it in spite of the heavy war scenes.  What amazes me is the writers, producers, and director STRONGLY emphesized General Jackson's belief in our Lord.  THere was a lot of praying in the movie.  No, no salvation message, but when Jackson died his wife told him (In tears) "At the end of this day you will be with our Creator".

I don't know why it says "Gods and Generals" because in the film there was only ONE God, and a lot of Scripture.

The film was a triology, and I'm looking forward to the next segment.

I really like the devotion today, Pat!  Thank you.

We don't have anything if we don't have Christ.

I am tired from tonight.
I just wanted to pop in a say

Talk to you all in the morning.

 8) Hello Mr Lee, I do have a picture of Mr Jackson in the Jackson Square. it is the same man. yes?

HI ms Soni  ;D the smileys you share are TOO fun. it is wonderful to see you tonight.  ;D

MS KARMAT !

Popcorn Balls

½ cup honey
¼ cup sugar
½ teaspoon of a cinnamon (if you like it)
5 cups warm popped popcorn
1 tablespoon of butter

Mix honey sugar and butter and cook in a microwave for 6 min.
then add food color if you wish.

Poor it on the warm popcorn in a big bowl and stir it with a wood spoon.
Or you can put it in a paper bag and shake it like a crazy woman.

Now when it is cool, you can make a popcorn balls, or you can let them cool on a tray so they do not stick together too.

JudyB

Pat it is interesting that you would  use the 5C's today.  I was talking to Melaura how we have become a greedy society.  I remember the time we would go to Eatons or Simpsons only when we needed something, not just to wander around looking at all the "things".  I wonder how this has contributed to the "I want" attitude.  Now it is nothing unusual to see the youth from our churches hanging around the malls doing whatever.  I really believe we need to get rid of the excesses in our lives and teach the youth to do so too.  I will get off my soapbox now ;D

Lee I understand your concerns and John works with drivers and companies alike in his training programs to change the attitudes.  It is a long hard battle.

I am unable to sleep tonight.  I know here I will have good company!

JudyB

JudyB

Meiks it is so good to see you! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I really wish you could stay with us, but I understand. :'( :'(

Have you any idea of the date you go???? :'( :'( :'(

In the meantime stay happy and know we all love you dear. :D

 ;D HI ms Judy B  ;D

It is sad to see you need to have this flu in your home. and now YOU are sick too? yes?

So sorry for this to happen. I never did get a flu before.  :-\

I often have a troubles to asleep too, this is a wonderful place to read then.  I wish you and your family well Ms Judy, and i do hope you can get a good rest tonight.  :-\

JudyB

Meika I am heading to bed when U finish this post.

Yes I have this flu bug too. :-\ More discomfort than anything.

Yes trouble sleeping, yet a good time to read, look at the beautiful pictures and pray. Yes? :)

Love you sweetie

JudyB

mieka

AAaawww Ms Judy, I love YOU and everyone here so much.

I need to be in the Lhasa on Nov. 15th, but it is a long trip to go there so i will leave my home here on the 7th.

So many here have try so hard to help me to stay here. I love each of you for this more than I can say. I have walk with God for many mornings only to know in my heart it is His wish I am there for this time. (Mr Moak, you are a wonderful friend).

I have been in the USA now for more than 5 years. it is so fast this time has passed. To give back what i can give for this short time I can see today the needs of so many are so much more than than one can help in 1 life time. I will pray each day for each of these people that God will find them.

I found some days ago a most wonderful story about God as he did work to find the heart of a man who did not wish to be found. In this story I found my way in the Lhasa. My fear is no more and my mind is at peace.

Ms Karmat did tell me of a wonderful story of the starfish. I do hope she will tell it here again for everyone to hear. I will forever have this in my heart. I am only 1 tiny starfish, but I know I can try to make a difference for some who have no hope at all.

I will miss everyone for this time. I had to say good bye today to some of my friends i see each week at the home for the ageing. It was a very hard for me because many will not be here any more when I am back home.  :'(

:-\ I think i did not do a good job with a cheery post tonight, yes? perhaps I will sing and dance later  ::)
Or we can all watch ms Karmat shake the popcorn like a crazy woman. I think it will be funny to see it.

I hope it is a wonderful day for everyone.  8)

Jane Walker

Dear Mieka ... Let me say that I love you very much, too.  It is hard for me to say good-bye to those I love ... it has happened too frequently lately.   :'(  Please know that I will always cherish every IM and post we have shared.  I love so many here at CP and it touches my heart far more than I can say when there is a parting of the ways.  If even for a short time.  I know God is in control of each of our lives and He is all love and mercy and kindness.  My heart is not big enough to hold all the feelings and emotions that are being created because of friendships and love.   Please keep in touch with us and I would really really love to hear from you as often as you are able to manage it.  I know I am not very important here, but I do care about each one of you as if you were my own family.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Hello ALL...'specially JUDY, JANET AND DEAR LITTLE MIEKA...

Janet

I am beginning to feel like "odd man out" here, because so many of you are night owls! :o  But it is nice to see so many posts already this morning.  It is just past 8:00 here.

Mieka!  You are such a ray of sunshine!  How we love you and enjoy each of your posts!  I am picturing Karma shaking that bag of popcorn like a crazy woman---and giggling.  God bless and keep you, Mi.

Jenny, do pamper yourself today and feel much better!  You're such a sweetheart.

Ria, how are you today?  I enjoy reading your posts so much, and you are doing great with your English.  Bless you.

Jane!!!  That is NOT true!  You ARE important here, and we love you so much!  To me, you are a steadying influence, and a wonderful friend.  Yet you also have a great sense of humor, and are able to laugh at yourself.  When I learned to laugh at myself, it was one of the most freeing things I ever learned. ;D ;D

I am waiting for Darrel to wake up, to ask if he wants to go swim.  We both worked so hard yesterday, he seems to be tuckered out this morning.

JudyB I hope you and all in your household are feeling much better today.  WE need to go get out flu shots soon.

Today I get to go get my Abby!!!  YES!!  She doesn't have school tomorrow, so I can pick her up this afternoon after school, then keep her until Tuesday, because her folks will be away.  On Sunday, I will go stay at their house until Tuesday, with Abby and Mark.  Mark is going with his folks, but will come home on Sunday with friends of theirs. (TMI?  Sorry :-\)

Soni!  Good to see all your little happy faces this morning.  Have a great day with those delightful kids of yours, and give 'em all a hug from this grandma, please.

Lee, I'm so glad you have joined us here.  You are a blessing.

And Pat, my dear friend......thanks for the devotional, and I never, ever want to be without the most important C!  All those others are just "stuff" but Christ is my life.  Love you, Pat.

Later, y'all!

Am still in yesterday, just finished reading all the posts there and among them found a request, how to color popcorn.

Many suggested already what the following confirms. Hope it is what you are looking for.
But, I also know that you can buy gourmet colored popcorn, already in the colors of the rainbow.  A friend of mine sold it while she owned a shop in Solvang, California.
I found one supplier: ][http://www.kitchenetc.com/Products.cfm?sku=000672030&trackingid=cmjctn&AID=10274067&PID=606239&SID=490-000672030url]
I imagine though, making it yourself is more fun.

So, on to much fun....... :D

Hi everyone.  It is another cool but sunny day here in Georgia.  We had to put that extra blanket on the bed last night and turned the furnace on yesterday for the first time this fall.

Mieka, it is all right to feel sad on occasion as long as we don't let that dominate us.  I will certainly miss seeing your postings and your great sense of humor but will be looking forward to your return to us.

Judyb and Jenny, sorry to read that the flu still has you both under the weather.  The lady who runs our Calvin Cove program said she had the 24 hour variety of the flu and felt terrible for that length of time and then felt a lot better.  However, I think you both have exceeded the 24 hours by this time.

Jane, I agree wholeheartedly with Janet in saying that you certainly are important here as is each and every person who posts.  We are each different in our talents, abilities,  the way we express ourselves and thus the role each has to play.  Each adds something unique to the site.  It reminds me of the following from the Bible:

Quote"Each part gets its meaning from the body as a whole, not the other way around.  The body we're talking about is Christ's body of chosen people.  Each of us finds our meaning and function as a part of his body.  But as a chopped-off finger or cut-off toe we wouldn't amount to much, would we? (Romans 4-5 from the Message Bible).

Janet, I am sure Abby is counting the hours until she can spend time with you.  It is so wonderful to see the warmth and deep love evidenced in the relationship you have with your grandchildren.

A special hi to Ria, Lee, Sonja, Margrit and of course, thanks to Pat for another fine devotional that points out what is really important in this life.  I look forward to reading further postings from others later today.

Marilyn

Good Morning. If you all don't mind I would like to share this devotional with you from "Days of Praise" put out by the Institute of Creation Research:

October 16 - WHAT CHRIST'S DEATH MEANT TO HIM

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"[Christ] gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works" (Titus 2:14).

If one were to ask why Jesus died, the average evangelical would usually say that He died to save us from our sins. It is true that "Christ died for our sins" (I Corinthians 15:3), but this is not the whole answer, by any means. Too many Christians think of the death of Christ only in terms of what it means for them—not what it meant to Him.

Our text says that He died for us and redeemed us from iniquity, not just to keep us from going to hell, but to "purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works." Paul says: "For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that He might be Lord both of the dead and living" (Romans 14:9). He wants a people who will have Him as Lord of their lives. "Christ also loved the church, and gave Himself for it; . . . That He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish" (Ephesians 5:25,27).

"He died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto Him which died for them, and rose again" (II Corinthians 5:15). "How much more shall the blood of Christ . . . purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?" (Hebrews 9:14). Finally, the apostle Peter reminds us that the Lord Jesus Christ "bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness" (I Peter 2:24), "that henceforth we should not serve sin" (Romans 6:6).

We who have been saved by the redeeming death of Christ for our sins often thank Him for what He has done for us—and we should. But we also should praise Him for what He has thereby done for Himself, and then seek always to live in such a way that His holy purpose is accomplished in our lives. HMM

Janet I am praying for the situation. God will work it all out in His time.

Larry, I turned my heater on a few mornings in the past couple of weeks. It is in the 40's here at night and 60's during the day. I am feeling the cool weather here more than down south. I think I am still assimilating.

There's Just Something About That Name
(Click to here music)

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
There's just something about that name
Master, Saviour, Jesus
Like the fragrance after the rain
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
Let all Heaven and Earth proclaim
Kings and kingdoms
Will all pass away
But there's something about that Name.

Good Morning Everyone!

It's so nice to come in here and see so many posts and it's so enjoyable to sit and read them all.

I was up late last night posting photos on the site for various folks and I'm not finished yet.  I was told to "Get to bed" by Lee and then I was paged by our darling Mieka and she said, "Ms. Pat, it is very late and you should be in bed!" so as an obedient Mum to Mieka, I went to bed and maybe I'll get to the rest of the photos today or tomorrow.

Lee, Judy and Sonja, it was so nice to read before I went to bed last night that you enjoyed the devotional.  That encourages me to keep going day by day.

Darling Mieka...  What can I say?  I cry when I think of you leaving our little group but I pray that the parting won't be for a long time and that you'll hurry back to us.  I just hope and pray that wherever you go you'll have an internet connection so that you can at least get in and read our posts.  BUT, please come in here as often as you can before November 7th and get those CDs made for me sweetie.

And Jane, I'm headed right out there to Oregon with my supply of wet noodles to use on you!  To think that you might say that you aren't important here!  Preposterous!  (Is that the way you spell that?  No matter I'm sure you'll get the idea!)

Jenny, glad that you are feeling a wee bit better.  That's so good.  Day by day.  I love that hymn above too because NONE BUT CHRIST CAN SATISFY for sure!  Many think that they have other satisfying things in life but Christ is our only satisfaction, right?

Ria, thanks for the little poem..  Let's read it again.  It's so nice.

Thanks so much for your friendship, Janet!  You are one special lady.    Hope you had a swim.  It would help those tired and sore muscles.  You must rest up as my kitchen is waiting!

Boy, these popcorn recipes sure sound great and what a good site, Margit!    Amazing how people are making money these days!  LOL   By the way, Margit, it's so nice to see you posting.  When you post, we get the opportunity to see that lovely smile of yours!

Look after yourself today, Larry.  I love hearing of your little trips to coffee with your friends and your trips to Calvin Cove and now I'm hoping that you'll be able sometime in the future to make a midi file for me!  LOL

Thanks for sharing the devotional, Marilyn.  I haven't read it yet but I will.  You have a good day, girl!  Did you get that window up?

Take care Ria.  I'll see you down in the practice area where we'll be playing together.

Just a quick hello as it's pretty busy here at Barclay Machine...

The heat has been on for several weeks at the Shuford house, and there was frost this morning...

I hate cold weather almost as much as I love cold weather.  Think about that for a while...

Hey, Mieka.  We're gonna miss you :(
I survived open heart surgery.... :)

Good morning all!!!

I am fascinated by Karma's request for GREEN popcorn.  I have two recipes with using JELL-0!!!!!

POPCORN BALLS WITH JELLO

1 C Sugar
½ C White Karo
Bring to a boil, take off stove.  Add 1-3oz. package of jello (green) and stir until dissolved.  Pour over 11-12 C. unsalted popcorn.  Mix with wooden spoon to coat.  Make into balls.

Also

MARSHMALLOW POPCORN BALLS

6 tbsp. Margarine
3 C tiny marshmallows
½ of 3 0z. package of Jello (green)=3 tbsps
3 qt. unsalted popcorn

Melt margarine and marshmallows.  Blend in jello.  Pour over popcorn.  Mix with wooden spoon to coat.  Make into balls.

Both of these can be put in a paper bag sprayed with cooking oil and shook by a crazy lady!!!!

I got my lessons on PSP done and went to upload them in Homestead.  They said I didn't have enough hard drive left.  So I checked.  They were right....I only had 608MB left.  So I have been deleting, burning, floppy discing and uninstalling.  I now have 1.06GB left.  But I still want to reorganize and clean up stuff on here.  AND upload my lessons.  Busy day ahead.

I think I have learned something....When I do these lessons, I get confused, frustrated, mind overload and then everything goes whacky!  Must be these lessons....hmmmm!

Okay, Okay ..... I have been duly chastised for my remark last night.  (it was last night here ...)  :-[  :-\  Pat, you can put away those wet noodles.   Thanks, Janet, Larry, and Marilyn for your encouragement.  Jenny, thank you, too!

I have been feeling a little "out of it", as Nita says, lately.  I don't know what the Lord is doing in my life or with my life, but it's like the quiet anticipation that precedes something BIG.  Before my Pastor Bev left, she passed the reins of leadership of our Women's Ministry group over to me.  The women decided they didn't want to meet at the church on Thursdays, so today will be the third meeting here in my home.  They seem happy with this arrangement and Nita says they feel the peace here and it's a "safe place" ... My one desire is that they will know a deeper, more intimate relationship with the Lord, and that their lives will take on a new meaning as He ministers through them in every aspect of their daily activities.  I feel so inadequate.   But I know He is all I need ... and I lean on Him--completely.

Well, I need to get some things taken care of around here if the group is coming this afternoon.  We will be missing Nita today as she and her daughter Kim are in Portland for Kim's eye surgery.

Y'all have a good day and I'll be back after a while to see what's poppin'   (Maybe that crazy woman will be shaking popcorn in a bag  ::)  ;D )
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

It appears the 24 dose has left.  When you count the 24's it has lasted a long time, there are 5 people in the house!  Now to air the house?  Burrrrrr it is too cold.

Jane I always look for your posts.  You are of great encouragement to me.

Now I am totally confused.  I know Pat that is too easy.  HEHEHEhehehehe. ;D ;D ;D ;D  How do all you guys know when someone has joined?  The only way I know is by your posts.  :o :o  Have I missed something? or have I not posted enough???? ??? ???

Jenny Go girl and pamper yourself.  To  day is cold so a good pamper day. :D

Ria have a good day, take care of yourself there are many depending on you.

Well I am going for now, God bless you all

Love JudyB

What a nice day here in CP!  I keep coming back every few minutes to see who else has posted, or posted again!  So great to have friends to chat with when we have a few minutes.

I am trying to finish putting away odds and ends and get things straightened up so I will have lots of free time for Abby!!   ;D ;D  Who knows what she will want to be doing!

Those popcorn recipes sound great!  And timely, too, with the approaching holidays.
