Jane I know the feeling of being just me. Not really too much interesting going on so I think, then I am reminded that we not all leaders so we in our quiet way are OK with the Lord.


Speaking of Pop Corn it reminded me of something that I must be careful of when I visit my Aunt, she has a large bowl with a lose fitting lid under her coffee table.  It is her snack in the evening when watching TV or dozing off (I am not sure)    Anyway when visiting I have put my feet under the table so now we have pop corn in places other than the bowl.

It was lovely reading all the posts this evening as well.

Thank you, my friends ... and a special thanks to each of you who posted words of encouragement today.  

God met with us this afternoon and ministered in a beautiful way to each of the women present.  I am ever mindful that He is the one in control ... I am only His instrument available for Him to use as He needs in order to accomplish His will.  I pray that I will always be "restfully available" and not ever attempt to do anything in my own strength (because I have none!).

I am writing this after learning a lot of things which I didn't know about my health situation. It all began over three week ago hen I started suffering chest pains. I called Cornelia who was teaching a Bible class at the nursing. They rushed me to the emergency room. They did an arteriogram and found two serious bloakages and put in two stints.

OK, that was good except for the fact that I began bleeding all over the place from rectum and other places. On further examination they found a mass in the colon. It was malignant. They operated and removed it all cutting above and below.

But that wasn't all. I then had a full fledged heart attack. My heart stopped this time and they did one of those things you see on "TV" with the paddles. Anyway in addition to this I got a bad kidney infection.

Norm, I hardly remember any of this. Which is fortunate for me. At first they thought they would send me to a nursing home for a week or so. But our personal doctor vetoed that and said we would be better off at home with home nursinc care. Anyway I am here. I get a little tired writing.

Good evening/morning all!  I have read off and on all day today, so I won't try to respond ot everyone, simply because i am sure I would miss someone somewhere.    

Tomorrow is Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!  WooHoO!  that means the weekend is coming!!  Any big plans for any of ya'll?  If it is not too cool, I am going to try and coerce Bernard into taking us to the Knoxville Zoo.  I got a telephoto for my camera and need to try it out, doncha know.

Thanks for all the popcorn ideas.  I will see what I can do.  Better yet, why don't you just fix your recipe and then send it to me?  That way, I could sample ALL of them and wouldn't have to do the work, I mean wouldn't have to risk leaving one out.  hahahahah

I'm gonna go look at some pictures now.

I just got home from meeting Diane on the hill and picking up my little helper.  She is looking through her books to choose which ones Grandma needs to read to her tonight.

It's been a long day today, starting with going in to work first thing this morning.  I went mainly to take pictures - they want a picture of each employee on the website, along side the name in the pertinent department.  Of course, one is on vacation this week, one always has Thursday off, one works the kind of crazy mixed-up hours I do and wasn't in today, the big boss was away all day, one of the department heads was out of town and one of the judges wasn't available.   Other than that, I did just fine.  

Then tonight I filled in as secetary for the Town planning board meeting while Gene went to his Session meeting at church.  He can't drive at night now, at least until his second cataract is corrected, so after my meeting I had to go pick him up.

I will say one thing - it's never dull around the Lee household!  

It's starting to look as though I won't be taking care of the Town's website much longer.  They want to use FrontPage, which I've never used and which I don't have on my computer.  So they'd either have to buy it and let me install it at home or get an entire new computer setup with internet access in the office and neither alternative is really what they want.  So they may decide to farm it out to a professional.  The next board meeting in November may bring the answer.  The money I've been getting for my time working on it has been nice but if the Lord wants it out of my hands I'm sure He'll see we don't starve or freeze.  

Wow.  There's been an awful lot to read today.  

Devotionals and the accompanying music have been great.

Time to head to bed.  I am off work tomorrow and going into the city to meet my girlfriend to explore the sewing show that is going on this weekend.  I'm really looking forward to it.
