Lamentations 3:23.  "Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.  The Lord is my portion, says my soul, therefore I hope in Him!"

Even the noughty little boy is still beloved by his mother.  In her eyes he starts each day with a clean slate - and may receive forgiveness many times during the day.  But - even if a compassionate mother  might become weary and turn her back upon him, yet the Lord never does so.  "Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb?  Surely they may forget, yet I will not forget you.  See, i have inscribed you on the palms of My hands." (Isaiah 49:15, 16)

Fear not to return to your Lord - after a thousand falls - to confess and receive forgiveness through your Savior's Blood.

I Am His, and He Is Mine
(Click to hear music)

Loved with everlasting love, led by grace that love to know;
Gracious Spirit from above, Thou hast taught me it is so!
O this full and perfect peace! O this transport all divine!
In a love which cannot cease, I am His, and He is mine.
In a love which cannot cease, I am His, and He is mine.

Heav'n above is softer blue, Earth around is sweeter green!
Something lives in every hue Christless eyes have never seen;
Birds with gladder songs o'erflow, flowers with deeper beauties shine,
Since I know, as I now know, I am His, and He is mine.
Since I know, as I now know, I am His, and He is mine.

Things that once were wild alarms cannot now disturb my rest;
Closed in everlasting arms, pillowed on the loving breast.
O to lie forever here, doubt and care and self resign,
While He whispers in my ear, I am His, and He is mine.
While He whispers in my ear, I am His, and He is mine.

His forever, only His; Who the Lord and me shall part?
Ah, with what a rest of bliss Christ can fill the loving heart!
Heav'n and earth may fade and flee, firstborn light in gloom decline;
But while God and I shall be, I am His, and He is mine.
But while God and I shall be, I am His, and He is mine.

Regarding salt-deterioration of cars, I've seen it in two very different kinds of places.  One was Philadelphia, and there the deterioration was due to the amount of salt used to overcome the ice on the streets - they poured it on.  The other was in Oregon right on the coast, and there it was solely due to salt spray from the ocean.  This latter wasn't near as bad.  They used to pour on the salt onto the top of the snow in  Phily, then plow the streets, thus pushing the snow bank right up over the cars.  Ugh!  It was awful.  Our little bit of deterioration here on the coast is nothing compared to that!

Thanks for the devotional Al.  It is dangerous, in a sense, to preach these truths, because out and out hypocrites can misuse them, but we have to keep faithful to the truth in spite of that. What you wrote are lovely thoughts to start the day on.

If we walk in the light as He is in the light,
we shall love one another and the blood of
Christ Jesus, God's Son, cleanses us from all sin.

Just a quick good morning as I am going to language class this morning, but I will pop back later.

God bless all and have a great day today.

Anthony.

p.s. We also have salt on the roads during the winter months, but nearly so much as some of you, it would seem, it certainly wrecks the bodywork though.
"He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things."

Thanks so much, Al!   Great devotional thoughts to start my day and what a lovely hymn.  I'm singing it here as I type!

How's the Italian doing, Anthony?

Hello Pat, just got back from class.  I don't seem to pick things up very quickly these days   :uglystupid: (BTW, it is nice to be able to come onto CP if we have a sleepless night isn't it Pat?  Hope you managed to get some sleep in the end).

Just wanted to try and respond a little to last night's posts.

Marilyn, the old car I have is an only one owner.  He was the mayor of Wolverhampton and only used it on the odd occasion. It is running well at the moment.  Glad you enjoyed the service.

Teresa Dawn, I left a few comments on your website.  Hope you don't mind.  I'm glad you are able to teach the children in the service.  I wouldn't have a clue how to keep control of them.

Vernon, I also like the song 'bind us together Lord', but I haven't sung it for a long time.  The church that I attend now keeps to the older hymns mainly.  It's nice to meet you brother.

Pat, I tried using the back button to re-capture my post, but for some reason all of the text had disappeared. I'll be more careful in future.  (Thanks for posting the song Vernon quoted.)

Janet, I'm glad you were able to spend some time with your family today and it is good to hear that Beth and John are still an entity (do you use that expression in the States?) I hope their friendship continues to blossom.

Carol, hi there.  I'm glad you're learning Canadian.  My cat's learning the language too :D Don't forget to chew bubble gum, Canadians always chew gum (or they do on the WWII films I watch anyway).

It has been good to read all of the posts today.  God bless.

Anthony.

Well I had some difficulty getting to sleep last night but when I did go to sleep it was very peaceful. It was very warm last night I had to open the bedroom window before I was comfortable, then it was cold when I woke up at 5 am and turned on the heater and crawled back into bed.

Thank you Al for the devotional today. What do you think of that riot they had in Ohio? I turned on the he TV yesterday and saw that happening and it reminded me of Kent State back in the 60's. Protesting the VietNam war. That one sure turned deadly.

Anthony so you are learning Italian. All foreign languages seem difficult to me. I know a tiny bit of Spanish and Italian not enough to do me any good. Just a word here and there.

I will be back in a little bit.

Hi everyone.  Just back from coffee and buying some bananas at the grocery store.  The housekeeper is here today so we will be all spic and span by noontime.  The yard people just pulled up out front so the yard will be all neat as well.  Pat has taken our daughter to school this morning but should be back within the next hour.  Think we will probably go to the library today as have some books overdue.

Al, thanks for the devotional today.

Marilyn, it turned chilly here this morning as well but it is a truly beautiful day.  I put on a sweat shirt for the first time this season and it feels very nice.

Anthony, it is nice to be able to get a one owner car and it sounds like you are very familar with the car's backgroup usage.  I don't think I would like to tackle a foreign language at this stage in my life although our society is becoming so multi-cultural in the area where I live that it would be helpful, especially to be able to speak some Spanish.

Pat, I like you new photo also.  When I bought my Saturn I was told it should run for 200,000 miles or more if I kept the maintenance up.  The problem I was having getting it started due to the security system seems to have been resolved with the last visit to the garage even though they said they hadn't fixed anything.  Also the fiberglass body should resist a lot of the salt damage that other cars experience.

I hope my monitor isn't trying to go out this morning.  I am getting some unusual flickering of the picture.  I am getting it only on one of the monitors.

Teresa Dawn, it is very nice to see you posting again.  We have missed you.  Are you skating in competition at this time or just skating for your own enjoyment?

Janet, it is nice that your daughter and family could join you on Sunday.

Ruth Ann, glad to hear of the healing that is occurring.  I know you are relieved to see that it is happening.

Jane, I am sure the folks at the nursing home appreciate the effort you and your friends make in coming to sing to them.  It is nice that you can do this.  Where my folks were in their last days they had a lovely chapel and different churches would come in on Sunday afternoons and have a church service.  They also had a devotional service each morning and different volunteers would come to play the piano and organ or to sign.

Carol and Vernon, good to see both of you posting.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

TeresaDawn

Anthony (Rainbow) Thanks for much for your comments much appreciated.  I left you one in return to the one you left in the blog portion of site. (I've posted a new entry, so it is one entry down now) I tried to email you but it keeps getting sent back to me saying it did not go through, so later I will send you a PM here instead :)

Larry, nice to see you again as well.  And no I do not skate competitively, just recreationally, but I did take lessons when I was in middle school and high school and coached 2-12 year olds for awhile in basic figure skating, but I never actually competed myself.  It is a super expensive sport though so I had to quit and now just go for fun whenever I can :)

Hope everyone has a great day.  I've gotta babysite in about 15 minutes (the kids are coming here so I don't need to rush out anywhere) but I will stop by again later on if I get a chance.

God Bless,
Teresa Dawn

Good Morning Again...

It's as if I should be saying Good Evening!  And I was sitting down here at the computer reading some of Al's Psalm studies and it was about 10 past 4 in the morning and all of a sudden by my window there was a terrible crash and I got scared and got up and ran out of the room with Geordie barking the whole way and the cat racing up the stairs ahead of us.

I thought that someone must have been looking in my window and tripped on something.

Anyway, it must have been a racoon as my neighbour next door has garbage all over the place and this huge garbage container was knocked over and that's the crash I heard.  Geordie went outside and barked so loudly and I think he had whatever it was cornered but I couldn't let him bark like that in the middle of the night so called him in--much to his disgust!

So that was my excitement in the night.

Those Psalm studies are just so wonderful to read when you can't sleep.

Hi Teresa Dawn.   I must get to your Blog yet.

I was there but found it difficult to read with the red background so I'm going to enlarge my text and see if that helps.  (Guess it's my old eyes. )

Good morning~~at least it is still morning where I live.

My week has started out with a real MONDAY.  But it is going to get lots better, because I choose to praise the Lord in spite of the circumstances!!

I'm feeling less than my usual self today, so I think some rest may be in order.  My calendar is much less crowded this week, so that will really help a lot.  I want to be able to slow down, and to get some things done here in the house that I have let go in order to do all the other "stuff."  ???

Dr. Wang (pronounced Wong) was even better last night than in the morning service!  That man is passionate about the Lord, and so full of fun, too.  What an enjoyable day we had in the house of the Lord!

Wednesday is my cataract eveluation appointment in Garden City.  They sent me a post card changing the time I'm to be there from 7:45 to 9:00, which made Darrel and me both quite happy!  :)

Pat, I think you have had quite enough excitement this past few days.  Now it is time for some peace and quiet and clean air!  ;)

Larry, good to see you today.  You and Pat always stay busy, don't you?  I don't really know any other way to live, but I think I would like to slow the pace some.

Hi, Anthony!  So you are taking Italian, huh?  I have taken a couple courses in Conversational Spanish, so I can muddle my way through pretty well; ask the pertinent questions, etc.  It really comes in handy sometimes.

They are having a two day auction on the 28th and 29th of this month, to finish closing out Beth's dad's estate.  I hope all goes well with that, and they get the right prices from things.  I know they will be glad to have it settled and done.  It has been very emotional and trying for the kids.

I think I will go check my email now.  See you later!

Papa John ~ I have heard of Mince Pie or Mince Meat Pie but I have never eaten it.  So I can't say it tastes like Green Tomato Pie.  But it is a very rich pie!

Janet ~ Our leaves have barely turned in Indiana.  Must be too dry or too moist or too hot or too cold or something!  So there are a lot of leaves yet to fall.  Perhaps a big wind will blow them across the road!!

Pat ~ Whew!  So glad to 'see' you again with a profile picture.  I didn't like the little pink thing but didn't want to tell you.  Your profile pic is a good one of you!!  You were lucky with your fire!  God was watching out for you.

Teresa Dawn ~ My Ultimate TV (like TiVo) recorded the Ice Skating yesterday and I watched it last evening.  I like fast-forwarding through the commercials and sometimes through the skaters that are falling a lot.

Saturday night was a sleepless night.  I saw 3 a.m. on the clock and the alarm went off at 6 a.m.  Even though I nodded a few times during the two sermons, church was great.  Both sermons were on Jeremiah, the Weeping Prophet.  Then after a Mexican lunch, I did some grocery shopping and came home.  Then I crashed.

I slept great last night...must have really been tired since I made myself stay awake Sunday afternoon.

Tonight is Small Groups Bible Study...we are studying the Book of James.  I feel the whole book should be a manual on how to raise your kids.  Everything should be taught by a parent to their children.  A manual for living for God.

Hallelujah! I Have Found Him (Satisfied)
(Click to hear music)

Author - Clara Tear Williams
Composer - Ralph Erskine Hudson

All my life long I had panted
For a drink from some cool spring,
That I hoped would quench the burning
Of the thirst I felt within.

Chorus:
Hallelujah! I have found Him
Whom my soul so long has craved!
Jesus satisfies my longings;
Thro' His life I now am saved.

Feeding on the husks around me,
Till my strength was almost gone,
Longed my soul for something better,
Only still to hunger on.

Poor I was, and sought for riches,
Something that would satisfy,
But the dust I gathered round me
Only mocked my soul's sad cry.

Well of water, ever springing,
Bread of life, so rich and free,
Untold wealth that never faileth,
My Redeemer is to me.

Etta Sue, I don't think I have TiVo here... must be an american station i guess... never heard of it anyawys lol.

Well, hope everyone's having a good day.  I was planning on going skating today but we can't get a ride up there (and it's pouring too much to walk) so we'll have to go wednesday instead.  oh well.

TeresaDawn

Pat, I tried to view my site from a library computer and couldn't read it either, but I changed the computers brightness setting a bit and then I could see if fine, so perhaps that is the problem?

JudyB

Well The most of my day is done.  Kassie has been sck (sore throat and fever) so I kept her home for the day.  We had some good one on one time.  That is needed no matter what the age.

Al Thank you for the  devotional.  Fear Not.  There are a lot of people afraid and many are not sure what they are afraid of.  Yet we are told to "Fear Not"  Yet on the opposite side of the coin we are told the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.  Almost a contradiction.

Pat Geordie is a dear.  He has again protected you his master.  Way to go Geordie.

A friend of ours is moving to N Bay and is working at the same company with John.  It is so super to have him around.

Marilyn coiuld your sleeplessness be still getting used to the new home?  Get your rest, even if it is lying in bed reading.

Ruth Anne it is good to see you feeling better.

Everyone else I have enjoyed your posts and will be back later.

Ruth Ann Bice

Hi, friends,

Well, there's nothing to worry about, but I am having my esophagus and top of stomach scoped tomorrow morning - just a checkup (first in 9 years) to see how the hiatal hernia is doing.

It will be nice to have the entire day off.

I'm having a hard time giving myself permission to purchase smaller clothes. Maybe I'm afraid the weight loss won't last - but am still verrrry slowly losing. It's 61 lbs now. So, all my clothing is getting too large - even the stuff that was too small in the beginning.

Well, must go - I have "miles to go before I sleep" to quote Robert Frost.

Y'all have a good evening and then if I'm awake enough, I'll come back tomorrow.

Ruth Ann

Here it is Monday night.  I didn't get in here yesterday.  Good service yesterday morning.  Last night we met with small group.  It was a good day.

Like some of you I didn't sleep well last night.  At 2:00 in the morning I got up and got in my recliner and finally went back to sleep and woke up at 5:00.  So I read my book until Martha, our daughter, came down and brought me my coffee.

Etta Sue, mince meat pie doesn't have meat in it but raisins, and other dried fruit.  It is rich, delicious, and absolutely necessary for a good Thanksgiving dinner.  Our Thanksgiving day will be coming up next month.  We almost always have mince meat pie Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Ruth Ann I am glad you are doing good with your weight loss.  I lost a lot of weight two years ago when I was sick and I have gained a lot back.  I am still under 200 lbs. which has been my goal for many years.

I hope you all have a good night's rest tonight.

Ps 3:3-5

Well Ruth Anne  I am thrilled with your weight loss.  Bonesy says way to go!!  Keep up the good work!

He is home tonight then heads out to Spring city TN tomorrow A.M.,  It is a nice treat to have him home today.

Evening everyone. I have been busy since I came home. I stopped off at the church on my way home to talk with the ladies at  WM's they were all busy making hats for the orphanage in China. At home I finished my laundry and cleaned my house. the man across the street gave me two pallets that I am going to use to stack some of those tubs on outside and cover them up with a tarp. He cleaned up the palette's and brought them over and got them level for me and I gave him some Zucchini bread in return.

I am disappointed in that afghan I was making for my friend Ketty, so I have decided to quit and give it to the Salvation army and give her a different one. Some how I got off on the rows and it isn't coming out right and with every row a different color and tied off at the end I can't take it apart.

Hello everyone - I haven't anything really beneficial to add to all your communications...just wanted you to know I'm here and checking in.....

Many times I too am out here on the cumputer when I should be snoring away...It is nice to know that someone - somewhere in the world is also awake and looking in ....  I also know that God has me praying for whomever He puts in my heart during the sleepless parts of my life...

Lately - well for the past 19 years ..he he... it has been my son that is first on my prayer list.  It is good to know that praying Moms - Parents - never stop --- I am blessed to have one!  Thanks Mom

Ruth Ann I wish you well and congratulations for your weight loss!! wow!!  I am such a quitter...in that area....

Janet, I hope you are feeling better real soon.  Hope you will be able to slow down your pace a bit - for your health's sake?

My pace is a bit TOO slow here --Although I am also learning a language...frustrating me, but it is coming along (Spanish - or Spanglish more like it...in Mexico, especially in tourist towns, they mix Spanish with English)... I need to get out, I am looking forward to taking a drive or something, Lately, whenever I get up and have my coffee on my beautiful balcony, it is just so beautiful and peaceful, I lose my momentum.  Need a travel buddy.  My husband is still in California and I really feel lonely.

It is nice to have this connection, even though I sorta feel like an evesdropper into your conversations... thanks for being here when I need to "listen".....Joy

Sue

Pat, I LOVE your new look!  You look gorgeous!

I had a long night last night too.  I know I must have slept but it felt like my eyes were open all night.  I haven't had a night like that in ages, and am I ever tired and out of sorts today.  I do think I might sleep tonight.

Jane Walker

Hey there, JOY!!     :D   I'm glad you stopped by ... and got your profile photo set.
I haven't been too motivated myself, lately.  What is this all about anyway?

I'd take a drive with you but by the time I got to your place we both would be out of the mood.

Well, I'm off to check out what's new in the gallery .... Talk atcha later.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Joy

Well I just got back from the gallery, I was posting some photos of my place.  Thought you might enjoy.  I gofed, and posted five - oops, I sorry I broke the rules.  I will check back in a bit later, I've got laundry to do.
