Many undoubtedly took up the offer to have their financial future secured here on earth. But what of eternity?

In light of its vast dimensions, security for this life pales in comparison.

Thank God there is good news regarding our eternal future. At no cost to us, but at great cost to Him, He has offered eternal life to all who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour from sin.

Yup, Jane, morning here. 

I just woke up to check how I did on DPChallenge.com and was pleastantly surprised to have my best score/photo ever.  I got 20th place on Defining Feature (Still not up with Soni, but I'm working at it).  http://www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=111232

Marilyn...Ug..Ug...don't like th sound of that tea...I am just getting used to taking only de-caff tea on doctor's orders.  I love my tea but the caffeine wasnt doing me much good apparently. I have now tried out 3 different types of decaff tea and am presently discovering P.G. tips in decaff.  It's more expensive than the others but then P.G. blend is a more expensive one anyway.

Jane Sure do re Marilyn's tea  ;).....Hope you found  a nice cosy spot to cuddle up. On thing I know, Jesus was there. Your Heavenly Husband is always close beside you.

A quick checkin this morning before we leave the motel for our days activities.  Pat and I both rested well last night and are ready to leave for the day but we won't be meeting my cousin and family until about 8 pm.  We are suppose to have some showers here in Tennessee today.  I thought it was going to be colder here than it is this morning.  Think it is about 57 degrees.

Thank you Pat for John 3:16 this morning, That verse is part of my opening prayer every morning.  Woke up this morning without that headache, Thank you Jesus!

Last night My friend Willa told me that there is an empty mobil home across the street from her, she doesn't know if it is for rent or not but Loreda (her daughter) is going to call today. That would be a great place to live, behind the church, just a walk through Willa's side yard and through the gate and I am at the church. If it  is the Lord's will and within my budget, I will try to rent that place.

Today I don't go to Gloria's until later as she has an afternoon appoint to have her diabetic shoes check for correct fit.  Since Fay is still inthe hospital I can do this. So I will go to my PT this morning instead of this afternoon. My appointment is at noon but I need to get out of there by noon, so am rtying to change the appointment.

Mike I looked at your photo on DPC Wonderful shot, I love the way you altered the photo to the B & W. The crop was pererfect.

Pat:  Thank you for all the good works you do!  Enjoyed the message this morning.

I can't stay online very long as we should get a phone call sometime as to when my cousin will arrive as they travel to warmer climate.  Believe it will be tomorrow.  Don is still having pain with sciatic and has a test this week on that regard.  It has been over 3 weeks.  We are anxious about a friend who works with us at shelter - he will find out today if lymph nodes in neck area are cancerous.  So it goes - we trust our destiny.

Just checking in....rushing really.  It is raining today and quite chilly.  So what better day to spend time with Ivalou.  We are planning on eating out and then seeing the movie 'Shall We Dance'.  It is suppose to be a 'feel good' movie.  I hope I am not disappointed.  

I hope that Larry had a great time in Tennessee!  I love going into old cemeteries and reading the names of the people and when they died.  Is that weird?  Also, I usually see my name on a tombstone somewhere.  Etta is an old, old name!  Larry, did you see 'Etta' on a tombstone?

Yesterday after church, I was reading while Jerry was napping.  The phone rang and it was Jerry's son.  He is in Columbia, SC, right now.  When he finishes his recruiter's schooling the last of November and his wife and son comes from Turkey, November 20th, they will be headed to Pittsburg, PA, where he will be stationed for a few years.  His time in Italy went so fast.  He has been in the Army 13 years now.  Seven to go and he can retire from the Army!  But he sure doesn't like being a recruiter.  Hope he doesn't get discouraged and quits the Army before his retirement.  

Then someone came to the door (manager of the park) and asked us if we wanted to see the mobile home next to Jerry.  They evicted the people after only 2-3 months living there.  I do not see how a home can get that dirty, dusty, filthy, torn up, destroyed in that small amount of time.  I don't think if I hadn't brushed cobwebs down for 20 years that my old mobile home or this house would be that cobwebbie!!!!!  Windows were broken.  Every mini-blind needs replaced.  The bathroom floor by the master bedroom needs replaced.  One of the bedrooms, their teen-age son painted the walls chartreuse!!!!!!  All the carpets need replaced.  Some walls and ceilings have holes in them.  Terrible how people treat things and they were buying this on contract!!!  But Jerry did get a smokeless grill out of it.  It was filthy...not with food...but cobwebs and what looked like sawdust.  I cleaned it up for him.  The electric cord wasn't there but Jerry's Fry Baby cord fit so he doesn't have to go outside this winter to grill!!

Gotta go!

Hello!  Darrel and I went and got our flu shots today.  The first time we went by, around 10:30 AM, there was a big crowd standing outside the Health Department, so we came home and waited until about 1:30.  By then, there weren't very many there.  Had to wait a while, but not bad.  I asked the nurse if Beth is considered a "high risk" person, and she said "absolutely!"  She gave me the paper to fill out and have Beth sign, and said just drive up, and I will come out to the car and give her the shot.  So that is what we did.  How about that?  Small towns can be wonderful at times.  God bless Lynette!

Then I went by the library and re-checked our books, and by the dollar store for a couple things Beth needed.  Tomorrow I have to take her to the dentist.  She can barely open her mouth now, she needs some help pronto.

Friday, I am giving a Princess Party for Abby.  We have been planning this for a long time, and she has no school on Thurs. or Friday, so a good time to do it.  Gotta plan some "fancy food" for 4 little princesses!  ;) ;D

I need to make some phone calls; just stopping by to see if I could get in now.  Glad to see things are back on track.

Yesterday we had a busy day.  At the morning service we were introduced to a new minister of Church Life and Administration.  Last night he spoke to the congregation and afterwards we enjoyed a covered dish dinner. 

This morning we had planned to go early to the city Heath Center for flu shots.  Well before we got up I flipped on TV and they showed a long line going all around the building and were announcing for others not to come.

Good to see everyone today. 

Janet, you were lucky with the flu shots.  Nashville isn’t a small town.  The City Health Center has some flu shots but they can give only so many a day and when the line gets up to that number they ask the people to go home and maybe they can get in tomorrow.  The line started there at five o’clock this morning.

Papa John:  I notice that many flu clinics have been totally cancelled in this area.  I hope that you can get in one of the short lines very soon.

I have an appointment for lab work tomorrow, as a prelude to a doctor appointment next week, so I think, while I'm at the Medical Center, I'll just go upstairs to my doctor's office and see about getting a flu shot.  Most of the advice I've heard is to go to your private doctor for the shot since so many of the clinics are closed.  We'll see.  Papa John, I sure hope you and Cornelia are able to get in on the short line soon.

Yes, with diabetes and nearing 65, I hope I can get a flu shot, too, but in my case, the doctor will not be getting any this year. Yet, Larry says that he was surprised to see so few people getting theirs where he and his wife were...

Go figure.

At any rate, the guy fixed my computer today - maybe it won't crash so much and slow me down at work, now that it's fixed. Was a driver problem with the keyboard in my laptop.

Before we left last week, I had asked at the health department if they thought they would have enough flu vaccine, in case we couldn't be there today.  They said they thought they had plenty.  Today, I only heard one person being told that she would have to check back later, as they had to give the shots to all the at-risk people first.

Papa John, and Ruth Ann (and others who need them) I do hope you are able to ge the shots without standing in a long line for hours.  One lady today told me she didn't want to stand in line, so went to her doctor, and he sent her back, saying he didn't have ANY of the vaccine.  So, Jane, I hope you don't find the same situation at your doctor's office!

I have posted an update in the "Gloria Needs a Miracle" thread.

About flu shots. I have to call my Dr. office and see if they got theirs in. The Dr. told me to stop in and get a shot  when they got the vaccine, so I guess they were planning on getting some.

Gilbert and the kids were just here for a short visit and we took the dogs and the kids for a walk around the block. The kids had brought thier bicycles with them. They don't get to ride them out where they live. Right on a dangerous curve in the road and no sidewalks.

I'm not concerned, one way or the other.  My doctor's office is in the Medical Center and that is next to the hospital ... Wherever the shot is being given I will manage to get there.  Of course, I will ask at the desk when I check in if and where the shot is available. If I have to stand in a line <which I don't think will happen> I will ... No big deal.  Hey!  What else am I going to do these daze?   :D

I am sorry.  I guess there was a miscommunication last evening or something.  The new NEM is now in place.  I use the three nights that others open it for me to go to bed early and of course, I slept in today!  :o
