JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Greetings folks from a cold Western Isles. I have written this post before and I feel compelled to rewrite it tonight in the prayerful hope that it will be blessed to someone:-

'Consider the work of God; for who can make that straight, which he hath made crooked?'

Eccles Chapter 7 Verse 13

Often God seems to place His children in positions of profound difficulty, leading them into a wedge from which there is no escape; contriving a situation which no human judgement would have permitted, had it been previously consulted. The very cloud conducts them thither. You may be thus involved at this very hour.

It does seem perplexing and very serious to that degree, but it is perfectly right. The issue will more than justify Him who has brought you hither. It is a platform for the display of His almighty grace and power.

He will not only deliver you; but in doing so, he will give you a lesson that you will never forget, and to which, in many a psalm and song, in after days, you will revert. You will never be able to thank God enough for having done just as He has.

LOL

Your brother in Christ

I pray that some good news comes soon about Cecilia.  If anyone were to ever take my little boy, I must confess that the police would have quite a job keeping me under control.

God bless those parents.

Thanks, Iain.  I really enjoy reading your "stuff", and you have no idea how close to "home" your words for today are.

God bless you, brother.

Hello everyone, thank you all so much for your prayers.  I can't get in to my doctor until Wednesday.  I feel alright today, just very tired.

Jane-I'm sorry for your concerns.  It's a good thing to remind yourself that God is in control.  Always remember that NOTHING happens outside His plan.  But I will definitely be praying for you and your family, and your grandson's safety.

Janet-I agree with Nards on this one.

Pat-you sound like you're pretty busy lately.  Don't wear yourself out doing too much.    I hope we can get the opportunity to get together sometime.  Sorry I've been so busy lately.

Etta Sue-thanks so much.  I appreciate your prayers very much.  It's so comforting knowing that people are praying for me.  Thank you for your wishes about my marriage as well.  I have been under a bit of stress about funds for it.  But I really shouldn't worry so much about it.

Well, I think I need to go lie down for a while.  Mom's orders to rest and take it easy today.  Thanks again everyone.  God bless you.  Jen.

Hi, I'm at work!  Working hard, can't you tell?

Janet, like I have said, you know Beth better than any one of us.  You know what she can handle and what she needs.  Just know that you and she has our support in anyway that we can help.  Obviously in prayer, but if there is something else, please let us know!

I received this as an email today.  I thought You would  enjoy teading it as I have .  Pass it on tho those whom you think will learn from it.

MOST POWERFUL EMAIL I EVER GOT

I had on new clothes,
New sneakers on my feet.
I was there for class on time,
Went to the back and took my seat.

Yeah, I'm moving up,
I'm already grown.
Soon I'll be graduating,
And out on my own.

I talked to some of my friends,
We were all having fun.
Said some things I shouldn't have said. Did stuff I shouldn't have
done.

I knew I was different.
I felt God touch my heart,
I knew I should set a standard,
But then I'd be set apart.

Walking to the bus, I was not looking for strength.
I heard the car tires screeching,
But now it's too late.

I'm standing in this room,
And I can see the heavenly gate.
Oh no! I never prayed.
I thought I had time to get it straight!

An angel walked to me,
He had a book in his hand.
I knew it was the Book of Life, When would this dream end?

I told him my name,
And he began to look.
Then he looked at me sadly and said,
Your name is not in this book.

Angel, this is a dream,
No, I can't be dead!
He closed the book and turned away,
He whispered - You cannot
proceed ahead.

No...no this can't be real,
Angel, you can't turn me away.
Let me talk to God,
Maybe he'll let me stay.

He led me to the gate,
Jesus came to me.
He did not let me in but said,
Beloved what is your need?

Jesus, I cried, please,
Don't cast me away from you.
Tears ran down his face as he said,
You knew what you needed to do.

Lord, please I'm young,
I never thought I would die.
I thought I'd have plenty of time,
Death caught me by surprise.

Lord, I went to church,
Please Jesus, I believe.
He said you would not accept me,
My love you would not receive.
Lord, there were too many
hypocrites. They weren't being true.

He took a step back and asked,
What does that have to do with you?

Lord, my family claimed to be
saved, They weren't real. You know.

He said, I died for you,
Now I have to go.

I fell to my knees crying to Him,
Lord, I planned to be real tomorrow.

I couldn't make Him understand,
I had never felt such sorrow.

Then it hit me hard, I said,
Lord, where will I go?

He looked into my eyes
and said, My child you already
know.

Please Jesus, I begged,
The place is so hot.
It seemed to trouble and grieve him,
He whispered, DEPART FROM ME,
I KNOW YOU NOT.

Lord, you're supposed to be love,
How can you send me to
damnation?

He replied, With your mouth you said you loved me, But each day
you rejected my salvation.

With that in an instant,
Day turned into night.

I never knew such torture could be, Now too late, I know the
Bible is right.

If I can tell you anything,
Hell has no age.

It is a place of torture,
Separated from God and full of rage.

You know, I thought it was funny, a joke, But this one thing is
true.

If you never accept Jesus Christ,
HELL IS WAITING FOR YOU!
So please, ask Him into your heart.

YOu know initially I bought into salvation as LifeInsurance.  I now stay with salvation as a satisfied customer.

Nards Do have any Cds or tapes of your group? I would like to hear you.

Regretfully, no.  All we've got to this point are some REALLY roughly edited live performance recordings that I would never let anyone hear who hasn't heard us live.

Our band (which has no name, either) is the source of some frustration for me, even though I love what we do so much.  What we play is a type of "energy worship", based on an acoustic rock sound with some electric guitars thrown in.  We're often pretty loud, and we often get pretty excited when we play.  As a result, we're not the kind of band a lot of older people really enjoy, (even though two of us are over forty and I'm in my mid thirties), because we are ALL about involving the audience.  Our entire purpose is to lead people into the presence of God and challenging them to do something in response to God's presence.  We never introduce ourselves onstage because our opinion is that who we are is the last thing we want the audience to worry about.  We want them to see Jesus when we play.

The problem is that we're made up of a pastor, his son, his son-in-law (who is also a pastor), myself, our drummer, and our soundman.  The drummer and the soundman play together in ANOTHER band, which means they are pretty busy anyway.  The two pastors, well, they are always busy, and one of them lives over two hours away.  The basic result is, we don't get together much and we get to play even less.  But man, when we do, we do it with all we've got.

The likelihood of us ever going "big" or making a CD or anything like that is pretty slim.  God may have other plans, and we're cool with that, but the current direction means we don't have the money or the time to invest in that kind of thing.  Maybe someday we'll be lucky enough to get a live mix that is worth duplicating some CDs from, but for now, you'll just have to hope we get a gig in California, or you make it to North Carolina someday, I guess!

Sorry!  But thanks so much for asking.

JudyB that was so cool.

Nards I am from the Hippie generation been there done that. I was in Golden Gate Park in San Franciso and heard Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane (Starship), Carlos Santana before they were known, they were just another music group trying to get started.
Those names may not mean anything to you then again you may have heard of them I am 30 yrs. older than you but their music has endured to generations.

Jenny..........

Yes, Jenny, we can praise our lOrd for always being in the middle of our storms to bring us a "Peace that passes all understanding", if we but turn to Him during our trials.  Of course, Romans 8:28 is another comfort for us all.

Nards in case you may have misunderstod what I was tyring to say. Is this: I have been there and done that with the loud and electric music. At one time I listened to Metallica. Not proud of that but I am different now. My son still listens to that kind of music next door and I cringe at some of the lyrics. He also likes Johnny Cash who I love to listen to.

I understood, don't worry :)

I have a LOT to say about music but it would definitely bring division to the forum, so I won't get into all that :)  It is a powerful tool and a powerful weapon.

If you wanna talk music and how it relates to Christianity, I would be glad to, but I would prefer to do it in a private message.

Bye for now!

Ria...........

I've only read the first page so far and can only comment on Judy's and Kathy's posts.  They gave you excellent advice, and the only thing I might add is that should do choose to leave, don't attempt to rescue anyone from the church.  True Christian pastors are chosen of God and the poor souls are constantly being bombarded by Satan's darts of troubles within the church.  Church problems are normal.  Hate to say this, but it's true.  There are always some form of minor fires requiring snuffing-out, and usually the pastor must make the choices.  Personally, I love a sound Elder rule of Christian men chosen of God to run the church, and leave the sermons and visitations to the pastor.  This comment doesn't exclude a visitation committee of men and women.  All this said, many of us are aware of pastors who want to hold the reigns and refuse to allow elder rule for fear of losing control and or their job.  Prayer is always the answer, lots of it.

Larry........

Sorry to har of your heart problems.  I guess we old ducks all have some kind of heart problem in one way or another.  I had a triple bypass three years ago and my cholestrol was 163 at the time.  You are on my prayer list my friend, and I will pray the doctors find the right combination of drugs to keep the old ticker clicking at a smooth rate and with sufficient strength to keep you well.

I agree with you on Pat not getting sufficient sleep.  Deseases of the heart and body have a way of slowly building up and then wham, they hit and knock us down.

Carol

I have been reading some of the posts but was out-of-touch for almost 11 days so possibly missed a lot of personal news.  My best wishes to everyone.

Over 40  ;D  Me thinks your being kind.

Lee we also have a visitation committee and there are a lot old and sick people they can not go to the church
Also not the visitation committee also not a pastor
They only comes to us when must have money.
Our pastors have the last weeks not hold the sermons
also not the coming week.
The church council they are saying the pastors they
are doing to much new modern things.
And there are a lot people they can not understand
that.
Sometimes i am going to a Baptist church there is going a friend from me and then i go with here and
sometimes she is going with me. But it is nice in the Baptist church not in the church i don't no how you call
that church there it is not so nice on this moment.
Yesterday there are walked out the church 15-20
people  I have not been because i cough and sneeze
a lot.  But it is terrible when people walk out the church.
Bye Ria

Dear saints of God........

The events of 9-11 through today have been horrible, yet not one desastrous event took place without our Lord's knowing of them (Even in eternity past).  We are sometimes amased that mankind can be led into such devestation by ungodly world leaders, but we, unlike those who will be damned forever, have our Lord's holy Word that has, and continues to give us warnings of what is about to happen.  When we read

Matthew 24
4.."And Jesus answered and said to them: "Take heed that no one deceives you.

5..For many will come in My name, saying, "I am the Christ,' and will deceive many.

6..And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

7..For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.

8..All these things are the beginnings of sorrows."

Since we know He speaks truth, and that we cannot change the events of this worlds destruction; all  leading up to the day He calls us home, the question for all Christians must, and should be,  "What dear Lord must we do, and what is our role".  Praise God, He has given us the answer......."Preach the Word of the gospels to the lost".  That is our purpose.  I know this about myself, I am, like you, a messenger of, and from God, and I will be called home the day I've witness to the last person I am chosen to witness to.
