karma, does Travis sleep in a toddler bed?  We tried it with Lila Mae because she was climbing out of her playpen but she refused for 2 hours.  We finally put her back in her playpen.  She hasn't climbed out since.  She learns quickly.  ;)
Have you started potty training with him?  Lila Mae is showing signs of wanting to be trained. She points and says she has to go, but we never get to the toilet in time.  lol... she went #2 on the floor the other day and she looked at me and then pointed at it and said "mine?"  hahahhahahaha...I tried so hard not to laugh.

No, he still sleeps in his crib in the bedroom with us.  That is more for our convienence than for his comfort, though.  We have a toddler bed, but he literally thrashes around -- he is an active sleeper, so I dread something that doesn't have steel reinforced sides on it.  kerplunk, kerplunk, kerplunk.

We have been working with Travis some. There for a while, he did well, we were being successful about once a day.  Now, though, he thinks it is more fun to stand in front of his potty, then play in the water in the sink or tub.   :-[  We gotta start getting serious about it, though.  The first time he did #2 in teh potty, he looked at it and looked at me like, "where in the world did that come from and what is it???"

This morning, he got quiet for a second and when I looked, he was sitting really still studiying the back of one of my crossword puzzle books.  I asked and he looked up at me with huge eyes and a totally awestruck experssion and said, "Vroom, vroom."  It was an Oreck ad and this child is crazy about vacuum cleaners.  He thought he had found the mother lode with that picture!

Hi Crafty Sue!!

Do I recognize you from DPC?

JudyB

Ria.  I am so sorry about the situation in your church.  Unfortunately it is true that there will be problems.  Times are changing and Mother has complaints that the pastor doesn't visit.  It is different with my church.  Our pastor only visits those in hospital and if he has a home visit it is only when it is requested.  I know that the people in the reformed churches here still expect the pastor to visit 2X a year.  unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it)  we have too many people in the churches today for that.  I will say though you really need to be encouraging and praying for the pastors.  It is a difficult situation.

Nards I would love to hear your band.  I enjoy all music that glorifies God.

I am off for the evening.  Pray for Melaura as she tries to deal with a difficult situation.  A long time friend appears to be into the drug scene  She has been showing severe high's and low's.  When I saw her last week she was walking around like a zombie.  Every time there was a BIG low she would go to the washroom, and come back really mellow.  Pray for Mel and Jessica.  This is difficult for her.

Got to run.

When you selected "Save As", did you click the option for .gif?  Even a jpg can be saved as a bmp in explorer, so that's the first thing to check.

Other than that, dunno.
I survived open heart surgery.... :)

Hi Sonja-
thats what i was going to ask you if you saved it as a gif? usually there are a list of ways that you can save it-I had a problem with aol trying to save pictures as jpeg but, it is something to do with aol-I can save them fine in IE or Netscape.
Hope this helps.

RACHELLE: If you go into your preferences on AOL /Internet Properties/web graphics...and then check the box that says "Never compress graphics" you will be able to save graphics from the internet.  I learned this the hard way after a lot of sweat and tears, some years ago!

Pat ~ Just had the yen for Pizza today and it was good.  The salad was better than the pizza and better for me too.

Larry ~ So sorry to hear you are back to stage one again.  I am praying that medication regulation will do the trick for you.

Janet ~ Mother knows best.  We back you up all the way with whatever you decide.

Jane ~ I know it is a big worry for you with one there and one on the way to Iraq.  Trust in God.

I know I am missing a bunch.  Just know that I have read all the posts....just didn't take notes today.  But I am glad to see Nard here.  Isn't it cute how he and his sweetie speak sweet nothings to each other in their posts?

Gotta Go.  My intentions was to get online and 'save' my lessons so I could print them later.  Duh!  Here I am on CP and I have been online for 3 hours!!!

And now Jerry is talking to me on IM!!!

Larry Hanna

I can't get used to it getting dark so early now.

I want to thank you all for your expressions of concern and for your prayers.  I have been dealing with this heart situation for the last 16 years.  My doctor wants to do another heart cath, which would be the 29th time in the cath lab.  I asked him if we couldn't try a change in medicine before resorting to this again.  He doubled the dosage of three of the heart medicines I am taking and gave me a strong pain pill, which I will try not to take except in extreme situations as it can be mildly addictive and I sure don't want that.  I am to see him again in about a month.  Enough about me as I know many folks have much worse situations than I.

Many postings today so am not going to try to respond indiviudally.  See you all tomorrow.

Sonja, have you emptied all of your temporary internet files lately?  When the only choice comes up as BMP, sometimes that can be the problem.

How does one go about emptying temporary internet files, and how often should this be done?

I have been talking to Mieka on Yahoo for some time, and she asked me to tell you all that she loves you.  But if they have to leave the house quickly, because of the fires, she may not have time to say goodbye to us here.  She says her life is in a box and she can leave very quickly.  She said the "fire snow" is covering everything and is very gross.  Mieka is cooking for 62 people tonight who are staying at her home now.

I pray they get those awful fires put our soon!

Just remember my new friend, we old ducks have paid our dues, and now it's time to relax. ;D

RELAX?  Good grief.  Since retirement, I've never worked so hard for no money in my life. ;)

Ria......

I believe you have the same problem with winter as I have.  The grey closes in and depression seeps into our lives.  I have found that the experts have something when they suggest we turn on some lights, and when possible, head for the Mall, a movie, or restaurant.  Get with other people where their is light.

Jane Walker

Yes!   Come to the LIGHT!!  Jesus is the Light and our only salvation!

Please pray for me...I am feeling very alone and I need to go for an MRI tomorrow afternoon.  Is this a problem?  Not really, but I am really missing close contact with family and loved ones right now.    Waaa  I want my mommy!!   :'(

I'm with you Jane and Marilyn...single, but not alone.
I have friends that I can call if I need someone.
I'll be moving this weekend, and I will get help from other singles for the move.  I dislike moving so it's nice (necessary) with help!

Papa John

I have enjoyed reading all the posts for today and I am reminded how much we ALL need the Lord in our lives each day.

I am sure He was with me recently when I was in the hospital.  Today we went to have a check with one of the surgeons who reminded me that for twenty minutes it was touch and go and they didn't know whether I live or not.  I believe God answered prayers and guided their work.

In any case right now I am feeling fine, still a little weak but well on the way to recovery.  I don't go back to see the colon surgeon until April.  He assured me there was no cancer left and they got it all.

I go back sometime next week to see the cardiologist.

I hope you all have a restful night.  Larry 29 times in the cath lab is a lot.  I think I have had it done just four times and two of them were week before last.  The first one last week was in the right leg and then the other one when I was having a heart attack soon after the colon surgery was done from the left leg.  I do hope and pray you will have better results soon.

Nancy, go to...

Tools/Internet Files/Delete Files

A little prompt will come up that asks if you want to delete the ones on your computer that are in the Temporary folder and say "Yes".  (I think the wording is, "Delete all offline files")

I do this once a week.
