Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

That isn't working for me Sonja. I am highlighting the part I want and the whole post is coming up to quote. Not what Iwant.

SONJA~Thanks for the coffee and chocolate donuts!   :P
Once again, my "notify" button got stuck and I am just now getting here.  Oh, well, I'm glad the coffee is still hot <did you just make a fresh pot?>

I have really enjoyed reading all the devotional thoughts and poetry and that great song: Friends.
That song fits perfectly with all our thoughts and prayers for MIEKA.  Like Pat, though, it always brings tears to my eyes.   :'(

MIEKA~I'm sorry you were having such a hard time sleeping last night (this morning) I miss you already.   :'(

I'll be back to help you in a bit.  I need to run to the hospital with Troy to get some blood work done and an EKG.   :D

Marilyn, go down to the Practice area and try it out.  It's so easy once you learn and it's such a good feature.

Well, I went to an appointment and came back here and found such tremendous messages!  Iain is such a treasure, isn't he?  I just get such a blessing when I read his posts.

What a fantastic page, Sonja, to your friend.  Sonja, you mention a poem by Nita?  I can't find it.  Was it today?

Oops!  My phone is ringing.  I'll return.

Pat, it was Jenny who posted the poem, I think.

I will go look at Sonja' s link now.

It is overcast, windy and cold here today.  I don't think it will make the predicted 70s. :(  But it really was nice while it lasted! :)

JUDY ........John Oxenham was a great and prolific Christian writer.....wrote mainly during the First W.War.
I have many of his books and I love his poems....They are collectors items now and Christopher bought me two, tiny bound volumes.
Surely Pat will know this great Hymn......

IN CHRIST THERE IS NO EAST OR WEST

                        written by John Oxenham.

The American Methodist Episcopal Church adopted his poem "Chaos and the Way Out" as a special service...It was used in 20,000 churches with membership of 8m.

During the !st World War his hymn "HYMN FOR THE MEN AT THE FRONT" was sung all round the world..over eight million copies were ordered.

He also wrote some wonderful novels and one "Out of the Body" came from a religious experience, during an air raid.....It is utterly AMAZING!

I am signing off for today folks..
Send my Best Wishes
Love and prayers.
Jenny.

Janet............

You're such a sweetheart I hate to break the news.  Sorry dear one, try again. :(

Amazing Grace says "That saved a wretch like me".  Guess that's why no one has it yet. :-*

QuoteTHIS HYMN IS ONE OF THOSE YOU ALMOST WANT TO STAND-UP AND SHOUT.

Hi everyone!

I can't stay too long, I have a job interview in about 45 mins, but just had to stop in and say hi.

Lee, I appreciate your words about my future plans.  After talking with my sister in law, I have learned that I will be able to do both my high school courses, and go to University at the same time.  So I am planning on applying for the fall semester at McMaster University in Hamilton.  The high school stuff is a personal goal, not a career goal, and I can work on it slowly as I work toward my career education.

Mieks, I have just caught up to what is going on with you.  When you get back to China you will have to get back on here to keep us up to date with what is going on with you.  We love you and will miss you.

Ruthie, how do I find out more about EE?  Sounds like something that I would be interested in.  You can either IM me or email me about it.

Anyway, I must go.  Have to get showered and get ready for this interview.

Love
Heather

For you Jenny...

In Christ there is no East or West[/b]
(Click to hear music)

In Christ there is no East or West,
in him no South or North,
but one great fellowship of love
throughout the whole wide earth.

In him shall true hearts everywhere
their high communion find,
his service is the golden cord
close-binding all mankind.

Join hands, disciples of the faith,
whate'er your race may be!
Who serves my Father as a son
is surely kin to me.

In Christ now meet both East and West,
in him meet South and North,
all Christly souls are one in him,
throughout the whole wide earth.

My dear friends...........

Christians must recognize that we are under attack by the "Sinister minister" Satan.  He hates God and all that is good and has been doing all he can to destroy Jesus Christ, and will continue to do so untill he has been cast into the Lake of Fire by God himself in the "End of Days".  Christians all to often are willing to sit back and watch the world go by without publically raising a hand or voice in support of our Lord.  Jesus said the time will come when man will call "good evil, and evil good".

I am NOT, nor will I allow myself to become involved in one ounce of politics in this forum, and what I am about to say is NOT political.  Our Marilyn just sent me a letter regarding a program CBS is going to air on the life of president Ronald Reagan.  I've seen much about this recently on the news.   Many lies about Mr. Reagan and Nancy are told in this mini serries (One of which shows Mr. Reagan using our Lord's name in vain).  I sent the following letter to CBS.

Sirs.

Might I simply say:  If you air the series, We will no longer watch or support CBS or it's sponsors in the future.

Thanks Lee!

They just never stop do they?  I don't know about this program but I sure wouldn't be happy if it was against President Regan.

Thanks for sharing.

I back you Lee.  No that is not political.  They have waited to "string up" a man until he cannot defend himself.

Janet

I have also gotten the warning things about this horrible slander of President Ronald Reagan (one of the best presidents of my lifetime!) and am really upset about it!  I have also written to protest it!  Thanks, Lee.

Hi everyone.  Once again a bit late in the day getting here to post.  Read the remainder of the postings from yesterday and the first couple of pages of postings from today before we had to leave for the dentist this morning and just now getting back to the computer.  The novicaine just wore off about 15 minutes ago so am feeling better.  I hate that feeling but sure glad they have it to use rather than experience the pain while in the dental chair.

We have the most glorious day here in Georgia with a perfectly clear sky and it is in the 70s.

Pat and Iain, the devotional messages today are so good.  Thanks for sharing these with us.  Pat, I did have a sneak peek and that will be a very good topic for November as we think of ways to be thankful.

Sonja, I certainly think you should pursue your goal of being a welder.  I believe we should strive to accomplish those things that are meaningful to us.  I will never forget the shock I had when after Pat and I had been married for about 5 years one day she told me she had always wanted to be a nurse but her Dad didn't want her to be.  My immediate response was that we must find a way to help her achieve that goal and she did become an LPN and worked in the hospital for 5 years until she could no longer physically holdup to the work due to the fibromyalgia she has suffered for many years.  During the time she was in the training we moved with my job to two other places but she found a school of nursing and continued her education until her goal was met.

Lee, I have also been reading about the Reagen movie and certainly don't intend to watch it.  The TV networks wonder why their share of the market keeps fading all the time and I feel it is because of the trash they are trying to foist off on the viewers.

Heather, I certainly hope your job interview goes well today and you also will stick with your goals and pursue further education.  You will be surprised what your attitude has to do with how interesting learning can be, even those things that you once thought were so boring.  We are never too old to learn.  Keep us informed of your progress as I know we all will be pulling for you.

Jenny, I appreciate your daily comments, scripture references and the poems you are sharing with us.  You are an encouragement to us all.

Carol, I heard on the radio earlier today that the snows and wet weather has helped the fire situation in Colorado.  Sure hope it puts those fires out.  The situation in California just gets worse and worse and that is so sad.

KarenB, glad to read that you are feeling better.  Don't think I have heard of the character of the mask you are making.  Guess I am just of the wrong generation and have no grandchildren around to keep me up to date on the current action figures the kids are playing with.  I am assuming this is an action figure.

Judyb, hope you will be feeling a lot better soon.  It sounds like you are a very busy person.  The maple syrup sounds nice.  Have you made it before?

I see I have written a long post and still haven't addressed everyone but better sign off for now.

Iain

Jenny - A truly beautiful poem sis. Thanks.

Elizabeth

Thanks Pat & Iain.  What a lot of work must go into those devotionals!

Jenny, that is a great poem.  I am in 'Poetry Heaven' lately (so to speak).  Love that M.J. Smith song and have always thought that it can relate to anyone at any age.  First heard him sing it as a duet with Amy Grant and was blown away....not far tho' as I am an old lady!

Ruthie, I used to go out on cold calls in Vancouver, BC, as part of a Sunday School mission to bring people into the church.  It didn't have a title then, but did bring many into church.  Those who weren't interested were mostly polite.  Glad some folks are still out there doing.

Sonja, what temptation, coffee and choc. donuts.  Am of Danish descent and drank more coffee than milk.  Can't drink coffee now and donuts are a stomach  disaster waiting to happen.  So enjoy now Kids!

I was away having my hair cut and now must go down and fight the good fight at the doctor's office to find a way to not have to pay all the cost of my $5.00 per day medicine for that rebellious stomach.  Already pay for a number of things that  our medical system has cut back on.  They only cover certain generic brands and I am not able to use these bargains......My little pension keeps getting smaller and smaller...

Sonja, did you say that the reason for wanting to learn welding was to create some forms of art?  That would be great!  My hairstylist is interested in learning to do watercolors and draw, so I took along a couple of books and lots of encouragement.  She has promised to have a little picture for me to see next appointment.  Love to see people use their talents and stretch their horizons.

Pleasant day to all and God Bless.

Etta Sue

Whew!  Another day of just now getting to post on NEM.  First of all, I discovered why I am so tired lately!!!  Well, the clock on my VCR in the living room was set for Daylight Savings and it went back an hour Sunday morn.  Indiana is always EST.  So the VCR was CST.  BUT my bedroom clock was EST.  I noticed when I went to bed last night that I thought it was after 11 by the VCR.  But when I went into the bedroom it was after 12.  So for 4 nights I have missed an hour of sleep.  My story and I am sticking to it.  ::) ::) 8)

Then I got online this morning and nothing worked right.  Even Outlook Express was messing up.  So I did my Norton, Disk Clean up, Scan Disk and Defragged.  Usually takes 2-3 hours.  Today it took 5 hours.  But I got a lot of little stuff done and since it is a nice 72° F, I even mowed the leaves.

But that caused me to be so far behind that I didn't dare make notes.  Just want to say I have read the posts and enjoyed them all.

Love the song for Mieka!!!  I miss you already, Meeks!  :'( :'( :'(

<:))))><<~~<:))))><<~~<:))))><<~~<:))))><<~~<:))))

QuoteMy Patriotism

I was born as a citizen of the United States of America.  It was no accident.  God planned my birth here.  And the other citizens and the government and all - by Divine Providence - became my environment and shaped my views and loyalties.  This nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all, became my fatherland.

At a time chosen by the Sovereign of nations I became aware of His godhood, of my rebellion, and of the Savior Whom He sent to rescue me from that rebellion.  I came to love Him and to bow before Him as Lord.  I also became more and more aware of His sovereignty over the nations and of the divine Providence that placed me here.  I came to thank Him for all that He has done in my life, including His grace to place me in this nation as His servant.

I therefore pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all.  I will defend it and pray for it.  I will seek to cleanse it from unrighteousness and to promote holiness before God in it.  I will preach the Word to its citizens and call them to end their rebellion and to return to the rightful Sovereign of this and all nations.

In these ways, God bless America.
(I'll sign the author's name):

Pastor Al

Pat

Thanks Lee!

I hope that you leave a message over there to Al where you read it.  That way all of the comments regarding this will be in one spot.

Canada sure lacks Patriotism and we could learn a lot from the USA.

Hi All, I am home now and back here with the family at CP. The new photo challenge looks good Pat.

I am doing some laundry this afternoon, I have to do my housework whenever I get the chance, as I am running  7 days a week.  It would be great to have a full day off occassionally.

Be back later

Just popping in to say that Don bought the book "A Purposeful Life" and we will begin studying it soon.

Larry:  What a sweet story about your Pat wanting to become a nurse and the two of you worked toward that goal as well as supporting your career.  I went back to university as I love to study and the family was supportive of my time too.  Glad that your dental day is over!  Yes, a bit of snow & sleet has tampered the fires and the wind died down.

Marilyn:  Terrific that you are getting a new computer.  We - mainly Don - have worked on this one and it still has some problems so we just don't want to spend the money now & trying to get along with this one.

Sonja:  I love the picture of two girls walking on the sidewalk.
