JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

"Prayer can do anything that God can do."

~E. M. Bounds~

Morning Devotional...

Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
Romans 3:24

Burdened by sin, a young man asked the question, "What can I do to be saved?" He was shattered by the answer, "I am sorry to tell you but you are too late!"

Thankfully the speaker went on to explain, "You see, everything needed for your salvation was done by Christ. He finished the work that was needed for you to be saved when He took your sins upon Himself on the cross." You can do nothing to earn salvation!

Simply cry out to Christ in your distress and trust in Him.

Receive by faith what He died to give you--salvation full and free.
--David Croudace

Jesus wept and died for me;
Jesus suffered on the tree;
Jesus waits to make me free;
He alone can save me.

Good Morning Thank you Pat for the devotional today.  It looks like no one came on after you closed the door, that is unusual, isn't it.

I slept so good last night and didn't wake up until 6 am. I am usually awake long before that time. I must have really needed the rest 'cause I didn't wake up once.

I promised Versal I would make her some bread today, so that is what I am doing this afternoon. Going to Tai Chi and to Fay's this morning.

I am looking forward to a wonderful day.

Yesterday I stopped at the church on my way home to give the Pastor an update on Gloria and he confided to me that he will be announcing our new Youth Pastors on Sunday. I was wondering when that would be, I have known for some time that this couple would be chosen, ever since before this Pastor came to us.

Our church is changing and it is all good. It is so wonderful to be part of the changes. He also told me that someone will be coming to build me a step for the front porch. Now that was a real surprise to me.

Must get dressed now and have some breakfast.

Pat:  Thank you for today's devotion.

Marilyn:  I hope to volunteer a bit more with Habitat.  It is such a worthwhile cause - there is a race in two weeks and I generally work at the race.

Janet:  Your Beth must be back by now.  I imagine that she has tons of stories.  And, she must have been surprised at her sparkling home.

Carol

Papa John

Good morning from sunny Tennessee.  This morning Cornelia and I are going to Krogers to do our big grocery shopping for the month.  Seniors get an extra 10% off today.

Marilyn, I'm sure you know that when the battery gets low it will give alarms like that.

Good to see everyone.

2 Corinthians  5:1  For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

Judy ~ I know Jack would be thrilled about Norm's baptism but I am, too!  How wonderful!

Janet ~ I know it has been hard work to get Beth's home ready for her return but seeing Beth's response will be worth it all.  Hope she returns feeling much better.

Pat ~ Thanks for the devotion.  A non-Christian just doesn't understand that no matter what they do, they can't earn salvation.  It is already done.  We only have to accept Christ as our Lord and Savior and it is done.

Marilyn ~ Isn't it wonderful to have a church family?  New steps...that will be great!

Papa John ~ Happy grocery shopping.  And I was going to say that a low battery sometimes makes the alarm bleep!

I just heard a loud motor noise.  They are combining the soy beans in the field west of me.  I was hoping it was a cornpicker in the field across the road from me.  Then I could 'see' again!!!  I live in a township of farmers...not even a small town...not many housing additions except near Noblesville.  So farming is the main business in this 8 mile x 8 mile township, approximately.  The dust is sure flying which makes hazy sunsets and sunrises.  Well, we do have the 'town' of Durbin...but it only has about 4-5 houses, 5 mobile homes, a fire department, an elementary school and an elevator.  So not really a town.  I would love to turn off the A/C and open windows but not with all this dust flying around.  Just glad the farmers are able to get in the fields and harvest their crops.

Pat

Etta Sue, your harvesting post reminded me of this little chorus...

He Owns The Cattle
(Click to hear music)

Words and Music by John W. Peterson

Psalm 50:10
"For every beast of the forest is mine,
and the cattle upon a thousand hills."

He owns the cattle on a thousand hills,
The wealth in every mine;
He owns the rivers and the rocks and rills,
The sun and stars that shine.
Wonderful riches, more than tongue can tell -
He is my Father so they're mine as well;
He owns the cattle on a thousand hills -
I know that He will care for me.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  We are having a nice cool and overcast day with some wind.  They are saying today that we may finally be getting some much needed rain in the next couple of days.  There is a new tropical storm coming along the Atlanta coast.  Fortunately they don't think it will turn into a hurricane.  I guess the rain will be coming from that storm.

I have had a busy day.  I went to coffee this morning and my daughter went with me as we had to leave at 8 am to take her to school.  I got her there on time and waited for her in a nice student lounge area with a comfortable chair.  They also have 5 or 6 computers available so tomorrow will probably use one of them if I can remember to take my passwords so I can access several sites.  She doesn't have class on Friday's so tomorrow is it for this week.

We had taken her car so when she was finished we drove it to a town north of here and met the lady who backed into her car and followed her to the body shop where it is suppose to be fixed by Friday.  Her friend then brought me home and Stacey went out to lunch with her and then got a permanent.  I had to then go pick her up.  I have choir practice this evening so you can see it is a full day.

Etta Sue, all that harvesting dust makes you really appreciate the air conditioning.  I remember living on a dirt road and the impossible job my mother had of keeping the dust under control in the summer when the house had to be opened up.

Papa John, you get a much better discount at Kroger's than we seniors do here in Georgia.  It is only a 5% discount.  Do they have the gas discount when you have spent $100 for groceries.  I got a 10 cent per gallon discount when I filled me car today at the Kroger gas station.  It brought the price down to $2.89. Don't know how long that is going to last.

Carol, it is nice that you volunteer with Habitat.  Our church has built a couple of houses for them in our area.  They do wonderful work.  Also, I was thinking today and wondering if you had ever stopped at that quilt shop in Estes, Colorado?  There is also a place that sells Amish quilts on the outskirts of Estes.  We had to check both of those places out when we were in Colorado a couple of years ago.

Marilyn, it sounds like you have a very caring church congregation that anticipates the needs before you even ask.  Glad they will be building you the step you need.  It sounds like you are very happy in your new house.

Pat, thanks for that fine morning devotiional.  Hope you are feeling better today.

JudyB, sorry to read of your car problems but it sounds like you were in a good place when the problem occurred.

Jona, I also looked at your website.  A very impressive site and I hope you do very well with it.

Judy McKenna, it was certainly great to see your posting appear yesterday and I hope that means that your arm is healing well.  I was also happy to read that Norm is being baptized.

Al Moak

Judy M - I too am so glad about Norm's baptism.  It's a ritual that symbolizes cleansing, and Jesus' sacrifice on the Cross is our only cleansing from sin.  It isn't the baptism that cleanses, but it sybolizes our union with the One Who does it.  By it we submit to His Lordship in the Church and are made members of His covenant nation.  What a beautiful thing!

Pat

Yes, Judy, Jack would have been so thrilled to attend Norm's baptism.  I will be there if at all possible.  I have it marked on the calendar from when you told me before.

Hi Pat, I like that "PRAYER CAN DO ANYTHING GOD CAN DO"

I know we need to pray more, if we are going to see any changes.

The weather is wonderful, but I heard it was going to SNOW IN NORTH BAY!  Judy, I hope you have your SNUGGIES handy.

Love Ruthie :lol: :laugh:
The Lord is my light and my salvation Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Ps. 27:1

Sue

I have just recently arrived home.

Judy, nice to see you again, and it is very nice news to hear that Norm is being Baptized.

Janet/Beth, I trust that you are now home safely?  Beth, isn't that a nice surprise to come home and find your home all fresh and new?

I had been given a lead on a possible job today, so now must visit the website and get my resume in.

RuthAnn, if you are checking in....how is the conference going?

Ruthie, be careful about those smiliies.....the snow will be coming our way far too soon!

I worked today, and then purchased a few groceries and stopped at my daughter's on my way home.  Her boyfriend had had some day surgery done on Monday.  Thankfully they did not need to open him up.  With the aid of the scope, the doctor was able to remove some scar tissue and tried to dislocate the shoulder but was unable to, so hopes that by removing the scar tissue the aches and pains will now go away.

Are we ALL living for Jesus?

Living For Jesus

Living for Jesus a life that is true;
striving to please him in all that I do,
yielding allegiance, gladhearted and free,
this is the pathway of blessing for me.

Refrain:
O Jesus, Lord and Savior,
I give myself to thee;
for thou, in thy atonement,
didst give thyself for me;
I own no other master,
my heart shall be thy throne,
My life I give, henceforth to live,
O Christ for thee alone.

Living for Jesus who died in my place,
bearing on Calvary my sin and disgrace,
such love constrains me to answer his call,
follow his leading and give him my all.

Refrain

Living for Jesus wherever I am,
doing each duty in his holy hame,
willing to suffer affliction or loss,
deeming each trial a part of my cross.

Refrain

Living for Jesus through earth's little while,
my dearest treasure, the light of his smile,
seeking the lost ones he died to redeem,
bringing the weary to find rest in him.

Refrain

This has been a typical Fall day, rain & more rain!  I keep bringing Misty in earlier each day as it has become so dark by late afternoon.  She was a bundle of wet fur.... :crazy:

Had to go into town for my monthly Dr. visit and market day.  Amanda stopped to drop off a resume.  She has three interviews lined up, so hope something comes of this.  Her other job was simply a summer fill in thing....Needs  perm. work until university in Sept.  A little prayer on her behalf would be most welcome...

I hope that Beth is back okay and happy with her restored home.  Sounds lovely and not many would have parents that went to so much work.  One lucky gal!  Will continue to pray for her health problems, as do many others here on CP.

Jona, your site is truly beautiful.  I will go back when time permits and enjoy all the wonderful photo's.  Also, the data is so interesting, expecially to one who has not had a chance to travel.   Like Me!

My doctor's office was having problems as they had recently put in a new computer system.  Some of the files were not there, etc.  Now print out a prescription and the dr. signs it.  Should make the Pharmacy folks happy.....unless they punch in the wrong dose!
Thought this little smile would be appropriate:

MURPHY'S LAW OF COMPUTING

1. When computing, whatever happens, behave as though you meant it to happen.

2. When you get to the point where you really understand your computer, it's probably obsolete.

3. The first place to look for information is in the section of the manual where you least expect to find it.

4. When the going gets tough, upgrade.

5. For every action, there is an equal and opposite malfunction.

6. To err is human...to blame your computer for your mistakes is even more than human, it's downright natural.

7. He who laughs last probably made a back-up.

8. If at first you don't succeed, blame your computer.

9. A complex system that does not work is invariably found to have evolved from a simpler system that worked just fine.

10. The number one cause of computer problems is computer solutions.

11. A computer program will always do what you tell it to do, but rarely what you want to do.

:crazy:  :'(

Where is eveyone?  Think we need to take Nard's suggestion (in the past) and start a subject that will get folks to  :yakyakyak: :yakyakyak:

Pleasant evening and God Bless.

CHANGE NOT THY FAITH WITH CHANGING TIMES

Ruth

Liz: I like Murphy's Law on Computing.

Pat: Thanks for the devotional.

Judy M:  So pleased to hear about Norm's baptism.

Papa John: It is wonderful to see you again.

Janet: Did Beth arrive home OK

Now about the snow in the North I had heard it was to be farther North than the Bay, either way it can remain there for a long time.

God Bless ya all
Ruth

Janet

Yes, I'm home, and so is Beth!  We got to town a bit after 4:00, and I took her straight to the doctor.  She has a yeast infection and bladder problems, was hurting quite a bit.  He sent her to the hospital to be catheterized because they needed a urine sample, and she needed relief. :-[  Then to the pharmacy for a couple of prescriptions........etc. etc.  So it was after 6 when I got her home and got home myself.

Yes, she said she likes her new abode.  :)  And I hadn't had time to get any curtains, so she got to choose those herself today in Dodge City.  I will have to shorten them, but can use the fabric I cut off to make curtains for her kitchen and bathroom windows, and maybe a couple other coordinating things if I feel really creative!  ;)

Thank you for your continued prayers for Beth.  She has lost even more strength and can barely move her left leg at all.  But she is already planning her next trip to NY!  :-\

JudyMc, how wonderful that Norm is being baptized!!  I think Darrel will take that step before long, too.  He says if he were ever baptized, he doesn't remember it, so he wants to do it.  (He lost some of his memory as a result of an injury he sustained in Viet Nam.)

I have a knot on my head from raising up under an open cabinet door yesterday at Beth's.  Ouch.

I still have to do my nails, they really took a beating lately in spite of wearing rubber gloves, and pack for the trip to Wichita tomorrow.  So I'd best be saying good night.  I hope to have time to check in in the morning before we leave.

Larry, how long before your daughter gets her license back?  Bet she will be happy, as will you and Pat, when that day comes.

Good night, folks!
