Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

Because thou servedst not the Lord thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart. . . He shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until He have destroyed thee.
Deuteronomy 28:47-48

Moses was reminding the children of Israel that their behavior would either bring God's blessing or judgment.

At the forefront of the warnings was the exhortation three times to listen to the voice of the Lord and to do His commandments. Yet doing His commands was not enough--to avoid judgment one must serve the Lord with joyfulness and gladness of heart.

The Lord wants more than mere submission; He wants our willing and happy service.

Only then are we truly submitted to Him!
--Warren Henderson

Give of Your Best to the Master

Author:  Howard B. Grose, 1851-1939
Musician:  Charlotte A. Barnard, 1830-1869

Out of all your gifts ye shall offer every
heave offering of the LORD, of all the best thereof,
even the hallowed part thereof out of it.
Numbers 18:29

Give of your best to the Master;
Give of the strength of your youth.
Throw your soul's fresh, glowing ardor
Into the battle for truth.
Jesus has set the example,
Dauntless was He, young and brave.
Give Him your loyal devotion;
Give Him the best that you have.

Refrain

Give of your best to the Master;
Give of the strength of your youth.
Clad in salvation's full armor,
Join in the battle for truth.

Give of your best to the Master;
Give Him first place in your heart.
Give Him first place in your service;
Consecrate every part.
Give, and to you will be given;
God His beloved Son gave.
Gratefully seeking to serve Him,
Give Him the best that you have.

Refrain

Give of your best to the Master;
Naught else is worthy His love.
He gave Himself for your ransom,
Gave up His glory above.
Laid down His life without murmur,
You from sin's ruin to save.
Give Him your heart's adoration;
Give Him the best that you have.

Refrain

I have uploaded my photos to the October challenge in the gallery.

We had a nice visit, too.

I have finished Versal's laundry. I took her for her second Epidural today acturally it is a caudal, they put the shot right into the tail bone area. I hope this takes care of the pain.

I also stopped in to see Gloria, they were weaning her off of the ventilator and sedation. She was still pretty out of it. Her aunt was there so I visited with her aunt for awhile too in the cafeteria while I was waiting for Versal.

Ps. Hey Pat you bonked my head while I was modifying my post. So here it is here.

Great photos in the Fall Colours Challenge.  I took some, but at the rate I'm going it will probably be spring when I get the film used up and developed.... ;D

Liz, great news that Amanda has the job as cashier.  Just a word of advise....it can be hard on the legs because one is standing in one spot for lengthy periods of time, and let her know to keep shifting her weight from one leg to the other.  Oh yea.....always remember to smile.....it USUALLY goes the extra mile!

There were more I wanted to respond to and have forgotten, so please forgive me!

Twas a long day today.  I had it in my head that I was off.  I got up, got washed and was dressed in jeans and reading a book on the couch and starting to contemplate planning my day and RING RING.  Looked at the caller display and debated about answering.  I'm glad I did.  I was greeted with...WHERE ARE YOU...YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE HERE NOW?  I feel as though I've been running ever since.  And and an extremely rude customer that severly tried my temper thrown in for good measure.  The smile just didn't work this time.   :o  Time to get off here and head to bed for some sleep.  Tomorrow looks like it most likely will be another long day.

Al Moak

Well, here we are again.  Went over to Marilyn's place yesterday, saw her new house/yard.  It's really great - just right for her and the dogs.  We had green tea (good stuff, Pat) and petted the dogs.  Dogs is the best people.  I have to admit that I have a great weakness for them.  Pat - we'd like to stop by for tea up there, but ya gotta get a little closer!  We can go over to Marilyn's in 10 minutes.  Someday, though, we'd sure like to take the trans-Canada train and stop in Guelph or Hamilton, or wherever it stops.

Carol

Marilyn:  I am so glad that you found a home for you and your doggies.

Larry:  No, I am rather new to quilting and Kentucky and Houston would be wonderful places to visit as far as quilts - we used to drive to Houston to visit Don's sister - not my cup of tea. ::)

We are getting things ready to drive to watch a hockey tournament part of this weekend and then, a baseball game Sunday afternoon - both have grandsons playing.  Our granddaughter is not to be left out either so we will take special time with her.  I give thanks every day for our grands.

Al:  I had no idea that you were so close to Marilyn - ten minutes.  Yes, it would be so much fun to take that train to visit with Pat as well.

Good Morning, Thank you at for the devotional this morning, I read it last night as soon as this thread was opened.

Just the ususal day is planned for today. First to Fay's then to Versal's, then home to clean my own house and do my own laundry. Must get some more stuff unpacked to and back to work on my Afghan for my friend's Christmas gift. Lots to do.

Good Morning folks!

We're getting a lot of rain today.  That's fine with me as long as it doesn't rain tomorrow as my friend is coming to start my deck.  I've been waiting since 1986 for a deck!  Finally it's going to be started.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  Pat, we are also having a rainy day and, in fact, this is day 2 of rain.  However, it is coming down so nice and slow that I am sure most of it is sinking in.  It is cool but very humid.  We are able to have the house open and the rain is coming straight down.  I hope you are able to get your deck started tomorrow. I think you have waited long enough.

Al, glad that you and Marbeth were able to visit with Maryilyn.  I am sure it was a special day for her.  It is always great to have friends stop by.

Marilyn, it is nice of you to do Versal's laundry for her.  Hope you get some boxes unpacked today.

Thinking of Janet today on her retreat and hoping she is getting some much needed rest.

Carol, it is wonderful that you are close enough to attend events involving your grandchildren.  What better gift could you give them than your attention and presence at their games and activities.  I know you will have an enjoyable weekend.

Sue, I have never had a job where I had to deal with the public.  However, I am sure you get all kinds and I hope you can just let the unpleasant events pass right by.  Why let someone else ruin your day.  It is that individual(s) that has the problem and not you.  It will only upset you if you allow it to do so.

Pat, thanks for the devotional today.

Nothing much planned for today.  We had a nice turnout at our men's coffee at the senior center and I was able to complete a project that I have been doing that involved writing several letters and making a mailing list for a Veteran's Day event we will have on November 11th for the families of WW I soldiers.  Probably late this afternoon I will have to make a two hour round trip to pick up my daughter and her car that we took to the body shop on Wednesday to have the dents removed and the tail light replaced that was caused when her friend backed into her a few days ago.  The friend is paying the bill as she didn't want it reported to the insurance company.

Hope everyone has a lovely day.

Pat

I'm taking advantage of the rain and am in my bedroom ironing and folding laundry while I have the TV on watching the news and other interesting programs to me.

I just decided to have a cuppa as this dull headache is still with me and I'm now going to go back upstairs and continue with my housely duties.   :clobber:

Good morning, friends,

I'm back from my business trip. And, although I planned to take the entire day off today, it looks like I'll be working at least 4 hours. At any rate, I'm here, safe and sound, in my own home and very thankful that I can work on line from home.

The trip was a good one, but I certainly faced some handicap person challenges getting around in that hotel. However, both the staff and business associates helped me overcome the obstacles and for that I'm really thankful.

Y'all hav ea great day with our Lord.

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Welcome home, Ruth Ann! <3

I'm so glad to hear from you and I've been praying for you since you left and wondering, too, how you were making out.

When do you see the doctor again to find out about that foot?

It's just so good to have you back with us.

Larry ~ I have played Hand and Foot two ways.  So I looked it up on the computer.  I believe you could play Hand and Foot anyway you wanted and it would be okay.  It is fun and not really a lot of stragedy...just luck of the draw.  But good that it is a good game to be with people and it doesn't go on and on for hours.

Marilyn ~ You are proof that history does repeat itself.  I have always loved the story of the Samaritan woman...not a lot of stories about women in the Bible but that one really lets one know that God can change and accepts anyone.

Karma ~ Congratulations on becoming a featured artist.  Who knows what will become of the newspaper writing.  Your vacation sounds terrif!

Janet ~ It seems that when you get one fire put out another starts up.  I like it when I can do what I want to do.  No one else can see what I have accomplished but my mind knows.  Relax on your time away.

Carol ~ Even though I would never tackle making my own quilt, I love looking at quilts.  The Amish do a great job quilting.  Hawaiian quilts are beautiful too...appliques.

Liz ~ It must be rainy everywhere but here.  The farmers are loving this dry weather so they can get their crops in.  Us non-farmers are staying inside because of the dust!  Fall is certainly in the air!

Sue ~ I have never not went to work when I was suppose to go but other things, I have gotten calls and was asked 'Where are you?'  That is a rude awakening.  Seems like your part time work is becoming full time work.

Al ~ While you are traveling to Guelph for tea, use the National Road and come through Indy.  I am just northeast of Indy.  I may not have tea but I always have a diet Coke or something.  Would love to have you and Marbeth.

Ruth Ann ~ Gald you are home from your business trip.  Sounds like you had some challenging times getting around but God prevails.

I keep hearing noises and hoping it is a cornpicker across the road.  First it was my solar heat...not used to hear that but it is only 56°F outside.  Second time, it was Ivalou.  She is mowing her yard.  So I still have a corn field across the road from me.

I have been making Movies with the Windows Movie Maker on Windows XP from my still pictures on floppies and my computer.  Really fun but time consuming.  I started a CD for Charlene with all the photos I have taken and the ones she has sent to me that she has taken....for her birthday...which is the 11th.  Today is the 7th.  And I am nowhere near done.  Besides, with the cost of gas, I want to take it by there house after church Sunday.  And tomorrow is 60 Chix luncheon and a wiener roast at my cousin's place.  Time.  I am as frazzled as Janet except mine is sitting at this chair instead of manual labor!!

Hi All

Pat I just looked at the date and realized that tomorrow is my grand son's birthday, and it is Ian's birthday as well.  Please call Ian and wish him a happy B Day.  I will do the same for Victor.  <3

We are having a very cool day, no rain but cool, typical autumn weather.  The radio announced that there could be a frost tonight.  That will be our second I think this autumn.  We have had unseasonably warm weather.

I enjoyed the devotional today. I have been away from the puter for a few days and have missed the daily reading.  Thanks Pat.

Welcome home Ruth Anne  Now you can get some rest?

Sue that happens when you are not on regular shifts.   I got so I looked at the callenday and checked my shifts.... That worked only if I remembered to write them down!!!

Etta Sue Can you grab about 20 of those cornstalks and send them to me (through the puter of course)?  I have a wedding to go to and the brides Mother has been looking for corn stalks.  They sell for 4 stalks for $10.00!  She has used another idea for the decoration.

Marilyn I hope you take a picture of the Afghan for us to see?

This is the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend.  We are having Bonnie and her family as well as Mother over for dinner.  We also may be having a young lady that is a friend of Bonnie's here as well with her young son.  She is in a very sad situation.  I am thawing the turkey and most of the veggies we will eat will be from our garden.  It will be a good feast.  I have not mowed lately and the lawn need a last good mowing.  Bonnie will want that job for sure.

Well I must go The girls will be home shortly and we will be having dinner early as it is youth and Navy Legue tonight so John and I will have an evening alone.  That will be nice.

Have a good evening
Love Judy

Nita

Hi everyone.  I haven't written anything for a few days but have just been busy.

My granddaughter, Angel (another story)has moved in with me, so we have been getting "her" room changed from boy(Kyle)to girl room.  She's been having fun, along with her mom and me.  So one grandchild moves out and another in. lol   I know it has to be God, because I feel a real peace about it.

Other than that, I'm just doing the same old thing.  Nothing very interesting to write about.

I see a HUGE spider out my window and I have to go spray him before he decides to get any closer.  Nita

Pat

Hi Nita, did you put the spider outside?  :lol:   Speaking of spiders, I have one big old spider that insists on building it's web across my sidewalk and now the postman is looking for it every day to get through it!   :uglystupid:

I hope our wet-ish weather stops for the morning so that my friend can make a start on the deck.  I do want it finished before the snow flies.

Welcome Pam.

Pam is a lady who has a Blog at the same spot that my blog is at.  Hope that some of you are checking my blog from time to time.   <3

Well, I'm off for awhile.  Just putting some summer clothes away and getting my blue jeans, etc. closer to being able to find them fast to put on.

Got my sunflowers cut down and now I'm letting the heads dry and then I'll have some more seeds to plant next spring.  Imagine sunflowers as high as my house!  Wow!

OK  Bye for awhile.

:cool:

Been busy since I got home. cleaning and doing my laundry. I ate a bowl of Top Ramen Noodles for supper but that ain't enough so will fix one of those cheap TV dinners in a bit. My right knee was giving me a very rough time today.  I have a brace but did not put it on. I didn't think it would fit under my pants. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to put it on over the pants. at least then I would have the support I need. I only got part way through Tai Chi class before I gave up because it hurt too much.

Time to go get the clothes from the dryer.

I have  been away from CP for a few days instead  I have been trying to download some pictures from my camera and for some reason all I am able to get them to is a folder and that is not what I want, I am trying to download them separately - I am unable to figure out what it was that I had done before.  Perhaps a trip to the camera store in Orangeville will do the trick.  At the end of this month they are offering a 2 hr class on the computer part of the camera work. Mel & I went to the camera part of the class it was taught in a very relaxing way so I am sure the next one will be done the same.

Mel & Sue have gone to her girl friends place in Scarborough to get a piece of furniture.

Yes we also had some rain and I do think that Saturday is to be cold and perhaps rain as well.  We were thinking of going to the Erin Fair to watch the Horse Pull but perhaps the weather will do the deciding.

Janet: I am sure that you are glad that Beth is home but poor Beth an infection, ouch they can really hurt.

Pat:  Try to get that headache taken care of.  Perhaps when your friend starts working on the deck you will really relax and enjoy the work in progress.

I think it is time to say nite all

Yes, my head hasn't been as bad today but still there.

I see we have a new member tonight.  That's so nice.  Hope they come into the New Every Morning.

SPIDER REPRIEVE!  Mr. Spider was given another day by the forgetful Nita Horner.

Actually, the mail ran, and after picking it up, I forgot to take care of Mr. Spider.  I'll see how he is tomorrow and make that life and/or death decision.  Ugh.  My mother never killed spiders.  She taught us the good things about them, but she could never make them attractive to me.   :o

There are some really nice pictures in the Autumn Challenge.  Great job, everyone.

I'm getting ready to get cozy, watch some tv, and fall asleep on the couch.  Angel just got moved in, and this is her weekend with her dad, so she's gone.  Dogs are in another room napping, it's nice and warm, and I've ran out of words. lol

JudyB

We are home.  At youth they had a contest to see who could "chug" the most sugar in the shortest period of time.  Melaura won.   Boy is she suffering.  Nausea. et all.  Giggle giggle, I remember the same kind of challenge in our youth group.  I won.  I also paid for it.  Giggle giggle.

John put a new exterior door in last week.  The door knob we had didn't fit this door so off to get a new one at Home Depot.  It fits and we will no longer have aa drafty door.

Well I have turned punchy.  Time for bed.  Pat did you try ginger?  Get some rest sis.

Love to all

The song "Give of your best to the Master" often takes me down memorylane to the early 50's when I was enjoying chapel sessions at the Methodist School on Penang Island.  May the inspired words of this song be the prayer of every young ... and gracefully growing old person.  Perhaps I should try to produce a "home video" on this topic in the near future, D.V.
It has been refreshing to visit this site  :)
