Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

WAITING

"Do you not know?  Have you not heard?  The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.  He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.  He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.  Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope (or take time to wait) in the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.[/b] Isaiah 40:28-31

Many times we grow weary when coping with the burdens and stresses of everyday life.  But when we remember to look to God, ask Him for help and strength, He always comes through!  He always gives us rest when weary, and strength for the day.

I have been meditating on these verses as I cope with the increasing needs of my loving but disabled daughter.  Yesterday I was in tears most of the day, and cried out to God, "Oh, God, how can I bear to see her this way, and getting weaker each day?  Please help me--please show me what to do!"

God answered through two or three friends (In the mouths of two or three witnesses shall everything be established, the Word tells us) who suggested a call to Home Health was in order.  Through a caring doctor, this was established, and now we will be receiving the help she needs.  What a mighty God we serve!  He cares about each detail of our lives.  Why do we not call on Him early?  This has been a lesson to me.  Of course, I pray about it all the time, but sometimes we get our eyes on the problem, and cannot see the solution.  My heart is full of praises to God, and I wanted to share His goodness with all of you.
[/color]

What a mighty God we serve,
What a mighty God we serve,
Angels bow before Him
Heaven and earth adore Him
What a mighty God we serve!

Good Morning, Good Night et al.

Was coming to check up on y-all and lo an behold I find the door locked and a new door opened. Praise be to God for his loving hand in our lives. He is an awesome God, who loves his children.

Janet I know you will have the help you need through Home Health. They are a wonderful organisation. You can probably get her a caregiver too. That would be a big help to you also, to have some of the work taken over by someone else. It is important to Beth to let her do as much as she is able thus manitaining some of her independence. That is the way we are taught in the caregiving classes I took last year.

Nice devotional, Janet.  I can relate to your pain.  It is also hard to watch my once so-active  daughter, struggle to walk and deal with constant pain.  The danger of her stituation was really brought home the other day.  She & her husband were gardening at the end of their yard, which is a small forest like park.  Suddenly a swarm of wasps came out of nowhere and attacked her.  She was literally helpless, as can not run or even move quickly.  If Ralph had not been there to drive them away and get her out of the yard.....They even continued to sting her vest after it was removed.  Something strange is going on with the wasps this year.  Needless to say, she was badly stung...tho' it could have had very serious consequences.

Yesterday was Market Day and then had many chores to finish here at home.  Today, I went and had a perm.  First one in about four years.  Tired of coping with straight hair...tho' the price of perms is bad enough to curl my hair without the solution >:(

I made a dinner for the kids so Wendy could rest.  She was very tired today.  We have sort of got the cats sorted out and Squeek has stopped sulking.  Misty goes outside for short periods with one of us and still is not terribly strong.  Climbing up trees and running about....then coming in exhausted!  Will be glad when she has her cat door installed and we can let her out more often.  I get weary sitting in the garage in order to give her company.  We all take turns....

Have read all the posts and will pray for those in need.  Glad you are okay Papa John and do thank you for your inspiring posts.  Hope your eye is better soon Pat.

Good Morning all-
A special good day to Jane!  It is late morning here in Colorado!

Pat:  I hope your eye heals quickly!

Jenny:  Such sad news coming in from the British hostage.  We can only look to the comfort of Him.

Everyone:  We are going to son's cabin for a few days - it is high-tech so I may be able to check in - going to look at the wonders built by the great Carpenter and Creator!  We hope to find a herd of elk gathering as it is the season.  Don is having great pain in his leg - sciatica - but that isn't stopping him from going.  :^(

I could not fix my sewing machine yesterday so it has to go to the shop - pricey so that isn't good.

Carol

Janet

Congratulations to our Soni--AGAIN!!  What a photographer you are--great job.

Marilyn, have you ever considered resting on your day off?  ;)

Papa John, I am so very happy about your good report from the doctor yesterday.

Carol, enjoy the brisk mountain air and the beauties that surround you.  I can close my eyes and picture it, but so much better to actually be there!

Hello, Jenny, and thank you for your kind words.  I am doing better, but still feeling a bit vulnerable.

Howdy, Jane!  Thank you for continuing to pray for Beth.  I think things will improve now, with the proper kind of help.  I have to go today to pick up commodities for her again.  I'm so glad that she will be getting physical therapy, and hope she can regain use of her legs.  ((hugs))

Oh, Liz!  How awful for dear Wendy, getting attacked by those wasps!  Yes, I agree that something strange is going on with the wasps this year.  I do hope she isn't terribly allergic to the little beasts' stings.  You do have a lot on your plate day by day, and I pray God's strength for you.

I have framing to finish, and a house to clean.  My Curtis is coming tomorrow to spend time with Grams, and I can hardly wait!  Seems his college has a few days out for Fall Break.

Pat, I hope the swelling and pain are both greatly reduced today.  Love you!

Royters News agency has just reported that they have seen a video showing the killing of Ken Bigley, yesterday.

Hey Soni...wanted to congratulate you for a super pic!  And thanks to Skief for alerting us to it!  I'd typed out a message and gotten side-tracked and then wound up deleting it!  duh!

Skief:  Are you an American missionary in Belarus, or are you from there?  I've been away for a while and didn't see when you started visiting us here...

I'm gonna post this now before I get side-tracked again! ;D

Good morning.  I've come down with a cold,am feeling "yucky" and am getting ready to go back to bed, but wanted to check in here first.  I just finished a nice cup of medicinal tea, and a time of prayer.  I'll sleep awhile and will feel better this afternoon.

Jenny, such sad news about Ken B.  The world is absolutely mad.  Without Christ there is no hope....and with Him, we have a great hope.  It breaks my heart all the sorrow that's flooding our world.

I'm praying for the missionaries in India, Pat.

Soni, your photo, art work, is so moving.  I am surprised you took 8th.  I would put you much higher than that.  But again......8th place is something too. :)

Janet, I'm so glad Beth is getting the help she needs.  I know your mother's heart is feeling the relief.   We used Home Health with my mother and it was so comforting when they would come to help her, give us ideas of ways to do things better.

Papa John, such a good report!!  Praise God!

Pat, how long will you be with your shiner?  Everything ok except for that?

It is raining here today, though not cold to me, and a nice day to stay inside.

Have a blessed day everyone.

Janet ~  I had to laugh when you asked Marilyn if she ever considered resting on her day off?  I do believe this is coming from someone who doesn't practice what they preach!!!!

Well, I am late in getting to NEM today.  Jerry got my Honda Lawn Tractor fixed yesterday!!!!!  Last year, sometimes it would start...sometimes not.  This year, it didn't start at all.  He thought it needed a new starter but didn't know how to get the starter off the motor.  But he got the brushes off and they needed replaced.  So we ordered them from Tractor Supply but they couldn't get them.  I went online and found them in a matter of minutes and ordered them from online Monday.  They came yesterday four days after ordering them!!!  Jerry fixed the mower!!!!!  I love using that mower.  Then he went home after being away for a week.  Ivalou had blood work this morning so I went with her.  Later we ate breakfast and then did some food shopping and stopped at the Dollar General.  Got back home at noon.  Then she came over and I printed out some maps for her so she won't get lost taking an elderly lady to southern Indiana to visit friends next week.  So I am late!![/b]

Thanks folks!  It feels good to know my closest friends love my photography and comment.  YOU ALL ROCK!!!

I was up at 4:30am and had to take a nap.  I don't do that very often and hope I am able to sleep tonight.

I was a teachers helper this morning and it was fun being in the classroom with my little girl.  She is so good in there.  She wasn't afraid to give mom a hug either. :-))

I better get going.  My stomach is empty!

Janet

Nita, I hope you feel better very soon!  No fun having those old colds and stuff.

:-[  You caught me, Etta Sue!

I just stopped in to say we are attending a dinner theatre tonight in Dodge City, leaving soon.  So it will be a late night.

I will make a quick check of the prayers area before I go.

I did get Beth's commodities, after two hours in the blazing hot sun.  Next time I get them it might be snowing, who knows?  :)

Talk to you all tomorrow, if I'm not too busy visiting with my boy!  Young man, really, since Curtis is now 21 years old!

Hi everyone, the home physical therapist came today to evaluate me,I need a lot of work to strenthen my legs and even hips as she didn't like how I walked,so she will start twice a week starting next week.Meikas pup is staying cute and she is a fat little butterball too.Can you believe it is already Oct?Where did September go?It seemed to just go poof and it was gone.I am trying to talk John into comming to see me over his vac in Dec,he could come see me and still be home to spend Christmas with his family.Pat I hope you are feeling better and your eye doesn't stay blak and blue for too long. Thanks mom for the devotional it was just what I needed.I have a praise repot one of my chat friends from the NF chat rms is terminal and has been feeling really scared as his drs have given him 5 months to live, last night he came to chat and told us he has accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and he now knows he has heaven to look forward too so he is not so scared and fearful. He lives in Corpus Christie Tx, has one brother there as well but his brother has told him not to call him anymore,so he was really feeling alone, but now he has eternal life to look too,and that has helped him deal with his brothers addittude a bit better. Please keep Fran in your prayers and thank you very much, take care& love you all,Beth

Beth - so glad you have the home health people - they are really, really helpful!  Also - what a tremdous change when someone comes into the Kingdom of God through Christ!  I vividly remember years ago I was fearful to travel by air - afraid of dying.  Then Christ made Himself real to me.  Suddenly I was no longer afraid!  I distinctly remember singing to myself, "I'm just a'passin through!"  By the way, Beth - He's right there in your room with you, too.

Hi everyone.  We had coffee at the Senior Center and then Pat and I went to the other Senior Center as I had a SeniorNet Learning Center Volunteer Meeting.  We then went back up to the big shopping center to return a DVD set she bought yesterday for our son's birthday as I had found much better prices when I researched on the Internet.  We then stopped and had a bite to eat and Pat went to the grocery store while I stayed in the car.  We came home and both took a nap.

Late this afternoon I called the doctor's office and got the report on my PSA test.  It is till elevated so will likely have a biopsy done sometime next week.  It needs to be soon so I can get back on the Plaviiks and aspirin to get my blood thinned down again.  Since I have no normal vessels in my heart I don't want to risk another blockage if it can be avoided.  However, need to find out if there is another problem before looking into the possibility of the heart transplant.

Pat, glad to see that you are getting rest.

Beth, do hope John will be able to pay a visit before the holidays as know that would mean a lot to you.  Glad you are getting setup with the Home Health Care folks and will be getting therapy.  That is certainly good news about your chatroom friend accepting Jesus Christ.  It obviously has made a great change in his life.

Janet, I hope you have a great time at the dinner theater.  Pat and I used to enjoy attending those but we don't seem to have them in our area anymore.  Your devotional speaks to us from your heart.

Jona, I will check out the the Prayer Requests section as soon as I finish writing here.  Glad that it will be a good report.

Nita, sorry to hear you have caught a cold.  Those are certainly no fun.

Pinkie, I will be looking for your photos.

Jenny, I was so saddened to read of the killing of Ken Bigley.  These terrorists know no bounds.  One of our schools here in Georgia was on the computer disk that was taken from one of the terrorist captured in Iraq.  Really frightening as they can strike anywhere.  However, we can't live our lives in fear.

Carol, sorry to read that Don is not getting any relief from his sciatica.  Hope you have a great time at your son's cabin.

Marilyn, hope you enjoy your days off.  I will check out your photos and PSP lessons.

Sonja, congratulations on your photo.  That is a very striking one and thanks to Skief for brining it to our attention.

Hi Jane.

Liz, what a frightening experience your daughter had with the wasps.  It sounds like your cats are getting you all trained properly.  A lot of wisdom  in your little saying about the dogs friends.

Etta Sue, glad your got your mower fixed.  Isn't it marvelous how the Internet opens up the world to us and what we can find with ease, such as spare parts for lawn mowers.

Hi Al, you were posting while I was writing.

I plan on watching the debates again this evening.  See everyone online tomorrow.

Pat

That's a nice one to sing!  I love this song.

This World Is Not My Home
(Click to hear music)

This world is not my home,
I'm just a passing thru,
My treasures are laid up
Somewhere beyond the blue;
The angels beckon me
From heaven's open door.
And I can't feel at home
In this world any more.

O Lord, You know,
I have no friend like You,
If heaven's not my home,
Then, Lord, what will I do?
The angels beckon me
From heaven's open door.
And I can't feel at home
In this world any more.

They're all expecting me,
And that's one thing I know
My Savior pardoned me
And now I onward go:
I know He'll take me thru
Tho I am weak and poor,
And I can't feel at home
In this world any more.

O Lord, You know,
I have no friend like You,
If heaven's not my home,
Then, Lord, what will I do?
The angels beckon me
From heaven's open door.
And I can't feel at home
In this world any more.

Just up in gloryland
We'll live eternally
The saints on ev'ry hand
Are shouting victory,
Their songsd of sweetest praise
Drift back from heaven's shore,
And I can't feel at home
In this world any more.

O Lord, You know,
I have no friend like You,
If heaven's not my home,
Then, Lord, what will I do?
The angels beckon me
From heaven's open door.
And I can't feel at home
In this world any more.

Just popped in to read for a few minutes.

I have been suffering with a cold now for a week.  I have managed to make it into work every day, but finally about 1.15 today I said "enough is enough" and came home.  Got home about 2.10, went upstairs to take a lay down and rest about 3.30 and woke up at 6.30.  Had some dinner, and am going to go out to the store and get some Neo Citron I think.  I hate being sick!

Marilyn

Hi everyone. That includes EVERYONE Y-all know who you are. You are EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finished all my running around today. It is now raining, started raining while I was in my Physical therapy appointment. However I did take a photo of the sky just before going into my appointment. Will post it later, I have to get it out of my camera first.

The rain is supposed to stop by tomorrow morning, we will see...   am going to watch the debates in just a little while, so first I think iI will fix some Stir fried veggies with Tofu for the protein. So I guess i had better get off here.

Hope you feel better real soon Pat. Hi BETH.

Hi all...  still looking for this song:  it's one that we used to sing in charismatic circles in the early 80's...
It goes something like this:

Every place on which you put (or set) your foot - I have given it to you, I have given it to you.
No man will be able to stand before, I will _______ for you, I will _____ for you.
Be strong and courageous, do not tremble or be disma-a-ayed
The Lord your God is with you...wherever you gooooo.

That's about all I can remember and I can't nail the tune down either.
It has kind of a Jewish sound to it...
Can you help me???
Thanks

Another thing...I tried to change my picture and it is less than 35kb, but it appears so large.  What size should it be?

I changed my signature line for those who would like to check it out.
