Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

Psalm 4:6, 7.  "There are many who say, 'Who will show us any good?'  Lord, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us.  you have put gladness in my heart, more than in the season that their grain and wine increased."

In an  earlier day, the Lord instructed moses to pronounce a wonderful benediction upon His people.  He told him to say, "The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace."  He was told to pronounce this benediction because God intended to fulfill it!

Now, in the 4th psalm, David seeks to have it placed upon himself, along with all of God's people.  He prays, "Lord lift up the light of Your countenance upon us."  The "light" he was talking about is the same as the "shining face" that Moses talked about.  In other words, David sought the benediction of God's smile, of God's apoproval - to be upon Him.

God commanded Moses to pronounce it upon His people, and David confesses his need of it.  The same is true for anyone repeating this song of worship - especially you!  You and I very much need that smile from our Lord, that expression of the power to save, that assurance of His protection from the evil one who seeks to destroy us.

Abide With Me

Abide with me; fast falls the eventide;
the darkness deepens; Lord, with me abide.
When other helpers fail and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, O abide with me.

Swift to its close ebbs out life's little day;
earth's joys grow dim; its glories pass away;
change and decay in all around I see;
O thou who changest not, abide with me.

I need thy presence every passing hour.
What but thy grace can foil the tempter's power?
Who, like thyself, my guide and stay can be?
Through cloud and sunshine, Lord, abide with me.

Hold thou thy cross before my closing eyes;
shine through the gloom and point me to the skies.
Heaven's morning breaks, and earth's vain shadows flee;
in life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of us Canadians!

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  Just back from coffee.  Pat is going with a couple of ladies to a new quilt shop so will be gone all morning.  I plan on putting together information on the church website as am meeting with the man who is going to replace me as the webmaster.  I have had the job for about 5 years and am ready for someone else to have the responsibility.

It looks like it is going to be another pretty day here in Georgia, although it is overcast at the moment.  Nothing new here.  I just plan on staying home today.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our Canadian friends.  You all celebrate Thanksgiving much earlier than we do here in the USA>

Al Moak

A happy and thank-filled Thanksgiving to all our dear Canadian brothers/sisters!  I pray our Father to fill every heart with genuine thanksgiving and joy in the Lord.

Etta Sue

CANADA!

Do you have Turkey and dressing and sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie today in Canada?  Would you tell us about your Thanksgiving day....what you do to celebrate?

My favorite all-time TV show was on last night.....Extreme Makeover-Home Edition.  Personally I think that if anyone can watch that show without shedding a tear would be heartless.  I cry because I am so happy for the people who are getting a new home and happy because there are others who give from their hearts for other people in need.  This show has to be a Godsend.

I awoke this morning to a heavy fog.  I like the fog...seems to subdue everything.  I don't like to drive in fog but I like to look out my windows and see fog.  Even with the sun shining, the fog just hangs there.  I think it is beautiful.

Tonight is photography guild.  I have my four photos all ready.  Didn't do too good this month.  Also found out that Kitty's modem and router was fried during the lightening strike.  She is suppose to get that fixed this morning.

Nothing else worth speaking about!

God Morning. Good devotional this Morning Al. Thank you.

Larry I really like your new profile photo. What a nice smile you have.

Etta Sue I too like that show but I don't watch it very often.

On my desk here I have my list of must takes to  put into my suitcase. I looks like a lot but it really isn't.

Please pray for my friend Conny's family, her cousins son was killed in Iraq.

Nothing new here to talk about so I will

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL OUR CANADIAN MEMBERS!!!

i, too, am interested in hearing about the similarities and differences in how you celebrate, compared to the U..S.

I would love to watch Extreme Makeover, Home Edition, if only it weren't on Sunday night.  Don't they know that is church night?  I realize a lot of churches now do not have Sunday evening services, which I think is too bad---but we still do.  I did see a rerun of it once, and it was great.

I have calls to make for my business, and more cabinets to clean out.  I am more and more determined to rid this place of unnecessary STUFF.  After about so long, it just begins to choke the life out of you!

May God smile on all of us today!

I had a post and lost it before I got it glued here.  Oh well, I was just telling Etta Sue that I always watch that show.  I feel so good after I do.  Weren't those little boys cute last night? :)  The stories are always so inspiring, and the ones chosen to get new homes are deserving.  I smile sometimes and get teary sometimes and get teary/smilie eyed sometimes.. :)  A lot of emotion, and hard WORK goes into creating the perfect home for the ones chosen.  I'm just as happy for them as if I'd gotten a new home myself.  In fact, more happy, because they are so deserving.

We don't have church Sunday evening.  I go Sunday afternoon, and Thursday evening.  We don't have a building so just rent a room.  A Baptist congregation meets there in the morning, and we have the afternoon.  Works great.

A lovely day here on the Oregon coast.  Lots of blue sky and sunshine.  I see the beginning of a small breeze in the tops of the trees.  Sometimes our "breeze" becomes a little more. haha   I like it this way.

We are having a ham, potatoes, turnip, squash (YUCKIE!), peas, pumpkin pie, cake (maybe) wihipped cream.  I personally would have turkey and stuffing and and but someone else (the cook) doesn't care for it, so ham it is.  I am thankful that we do turkey at Christmas.  My parents are coming and they are bringing the pie.  We don't really do too much else, just gather for dinner and a visit.  Most (perhaps all in non-tourist areas) stores and banks, post-offices amd government services are closed today also.

Etta Sue - I'm glad there's at least a few who like the fog like I do.  It's one of the most peaceful things I can think of.  I even wrote a poem called "The Renewing Of The Fog" about it.  Particularly at the seashore - a nice, thick, low fog, the occasional foghorn, and the sound of the breakers - oh wow!

Nita - sounds like an interesting church - I love those little start-up churches that rent a room and enjoy the Lord together!

Ruth Ann Bice

Hi, friends,

I'm in Atlanta with the children while my son has back surgery again today - 4th time. It's good to have a few moments while the 3 year old sleeps to catch my breath. Seems like children are MUCH more energetic now than they used to be - or is it Grandma could use some extra energy!!!??? ::)

Y'all have a good day.

Ruth Ann

I have a few minutes to rest, so came here to see what is new!
Typical Fall Day here on the island.....cool and damp...not wet or dry..confuses Misty no end!

Yest. the kids went to the home of one of SIL's sister's for a big dinner and get together.  Amanda had to work, so they saved her a plate.  At least I think they did, as Wendy returned carrying something or other.  I don't attend any of that.

Today, Wendy is cooking a turkey, I finished making a pumpkin pie, will next go and whip the cream so it is ready for an early 4 PM dinner.  Ralph has to work as he owns a business that requires attention.  I also used up the remaining pumpkin from the can, and made some muffins.  Not bad, had one.

Squeek celebrated by tossing up a few times .... we don't know why.  No food for her for awhile.  Not due to Hairball as recently had some....she hates it!  Misty loves it.  Go figure :-\

Next, after having folded and carrying up their laundry, must go and clean both litter boxes.  Cats are not friendly, so each has her own covered box.  Gad!  At least they don't have to stand in line... ;).. Then I am going to clean up me, change into something or other, and have a rest until time to eat the bird.  I hope.

Thanksgiving used to be fun.  We would deck the church, bring food for needy families, really give thanks for all of God's blessings.  I would cook the dinner, have family over, play games after eating.  Now it is pretty much like any other day for most folks, except they eat more!

God Bless,

Liz

I have Ruth in the hospital again,. She fell last night and broke her hip. Please pray for Ruth Mills.

I will be going over there Monday after I get back from Portland to clean out the refrigerator and other food that needs to go. It will be quite awhile before she is back home again.

I have a training session to go to in a little bit so I just wanted to stop by and ask for prayer.

Hey there, Nita!  Good to see you!  I'm sitting here with a light jacket on and shivering...frost is predicted for us toward the end of the week.  Today has been cool and misty-moisty.  ;)

Liz, it sounds as if you work much too hard!  But I know how those things go.....we just keep on doing what needs doing.  Right?

Sue, may I have a small plate of your Thanksgiving dinner?  Sounds good.  I like ham occasionally, but think I prefer turkey for Thanksgiving.  We should deep fry another one this year; we have only used our fryer set-up one time in about five years we have had it.  The turkey was delicious, too!

I think I will go get the NEM ready for tomorrow, as I have a business builders call at 8:30, don't want to miss that.

Janet, you may have a couple of plates if you'd like.  We have lots!  Dinner was good.  My mom spoiled us.  Homemade pumpkin pie...no canned pumpkin for her!  Fresh whipped cream for the pie and some homemade butter tarts too!  mmmmm yummy

Thanks, Sue!  I can almost taste that good food all the way down here in the corner of Kansas!

I'm sleepy, and seem to be alone in here, so I'm locking up early, but just come on over HERE and keep right on posting.
