Hello, friends.  I'm sorry I am not as organized as I should be; if I were, I'd have had the NEM ready a week ahead.  But I had no time to do it before I came down to Abby's, and can't do it from Jeff's computer, as all the ones I want to use are on my computer!  Ok, enough with the excuses already...   I'm sorry.  And Pat, I'm so glad you could go to Ian's and spend some time with that darling little one. 

I'm glad too, that the rest of our Canadian members all had a nice Thanksgiving.  Ours will be here before we know it!

Abby wanted me to come to school and eat lunch with her yesterday, so I did.  Then her teacher asked me to help in her classroom, so I spent the rest of the school day doing individual testing and helping the children with work on a one-to-one basis.  I really enjoyed that.  It was my intention to become an elementary teacher, but my life took another path.

Abby was all excited this morning, as today they are going on a field trip.  She needed to bring a lunch and a pair of gloves.  They are going out to a farm to help an elderly couple with whatever needs doing; I think that is such a neat idea!  Kids love to be of real help, and this will also teach them compassion.  I applaud their teachers for making this choice.  The kids were just as excited as if they were taking them to an amusement park.   

Larry, I'm sure each one of us is relieved to hear that you are feeling better again today.  Prayers for you and your Pat continue, as well as for your daughter and son and their situations.

Jane, good to hear from you again!  And the wood will show up--just as it did last year!

Nita, I must have missed one of your posts, so will go back and see if I can find it.

Ruth Ann---Yes!!!  PRAISE THE LORD!!  Good news from you is so welcome!

Carol, I saw on TV last night about the big snowstorm around Denver.  Boy!  Seems awfully early for that, but the weather all over the world is strange.  That awful earthquake in Pakistan has killed over 42,000 people!  I cannot imagine it!  We are truly living in the end times.

Papa John, your granddaughters are lovely and beautiful women!  No wonder you are a proud Papa John!

I am so cold, and I have on two jackets!  I haven't figured out the programming of the thermostat here, and not sure the furnace is even lit!  I hope the kids get home early because today is my sweet darling's birthday, and I want to be with him.

I will now go to SrNet and see who passed away.  First names are not enough information for some of us.

Oh, I wish I had kept notes!!! 

My son called me to see if my brother had any fallen trees in the woods that he could cut up and have.  Seems he is like everyone else, trying to see how to cut down on gas/gasoline/electric usage.  I don't know what he found out but I told him to call Kaye Don.  So Jane, Tony wants to heat with wood like you do. 

I have had my electric fireplace on during the day.  I am amazed at how well it warms the house but then, it is centered in the house.  Make me feel nice and cozy when I see the fire burn.  Not really a fire but it looks like it. 

At the Kilbuck Photography Guild last night, we had two gentlemen that have been in Photography Clubs for over 50 years!!!  They both brought old cameras (about 40 of them) and told stories about them and showed us how they used them.  Then one of them showed us photographs that were done in black and white and 8" x 10" then matted that he developed himself and printed way back in the 50's and 60's.  (about 50 or more of them)  My, those hair styles sure dated them.  Pictures from Alaska, California, Hawaii, weddings, portraits, family, even Louis Armstrong that the photographer took when he was 15.  Amazing how clear and preserved they were.  Someone asked him how he stores his photos....he said "Stacked!"  Nothing special. 

Nice and cool again today.  If it were only sunny, I would be out and hunting fall colors.  But they would be drab oranges today. 

Tonight we are going to see 'Grease' at Beef and Boards dinner theater.  Should be lots of fun.

Oh yes!  Columbus Day!  I did take my check and check book to Lapel.  The bank was open.  I guess that is an advantage to a small town.  Besides the farmers are depositing big money from crops right now. 

But the mail didn't run.  The flag has been up on my mailbox since yesterday morning. 

Hello to everyone on this brand new day.  There will never be another exactly like it, so watch what you say and do, be sure and enjoy it, as it's a gift from our Father.  

We are still enjoying really nice weather here.  I have roses blooming, Four O'clocks seeding all over the place, Cosmos still bright and happy, dahlias too; and nasturciums,  miniature mums (whether they're supposed to be miniature or not...they are)and I guess that's about it. 

Marilyn, your whole house is your prayer room.  You don't need one place. When I had the prayer room that I went to, there were other things going on, where this little room was just mine and perfect.  God always provides just what we need.  He must know you have a "Prayer House" and don't need a special corner.

Larry, I'm so glad you are feeling better.

Etta Sue, I understand about not keeping notes. haha  I'm always popping in between other things, and don't take the time to take notes.  I think I'll remember, but I don't.

I'll check back in later.  I have a busy day, so will go get to getting into it.    Nita

We must be a busy bunch today, not many posts since I was here. 

Etta Sue, good to see you--and that's a cute cat, wagging its whole self!  ;)You do seem to find so many interesting things to do!  We will be attending a dinner theater this week also, on Friday night.  Looks as if that will have to be Darrell's birthday celebration, as the kids are not home yet.  I called them on their cells, and Diane called me back about 5, said they were on the Turnpike somewhere near Emporia, so it will be at least 10 before they get home.

I asked Abby about her field trip and she said she got to dust, sweep and mop for the lady.     She commented that "she sure had a lot of hidden dust!"  They divided the kids into three groups and put them all to work.  Some of the boys did outside chores.  She said they picked up rocks, cleaned the yard, and cleaned the garage.  (I asked her if they would come to my house on their next field trip!   )

Abby has lit every candle she could find in the house!  Now one has dripped on the floor, so I must help her clean that up.  See Y'all later!

Yes Janet I have been busy since I got home from work, vacuuming, sweeping, picking up outside after the dogs, moving the Garbage bin out tot he road for pick up tomorrow, and fixing Macaroni/Tuna salad. Etc Etc. Had a long conversation with the SS Admin, they had me with an income of almost 40 grand a year, Ha ha I have never made that much in on year in my entire life. I hope IRS doesn't get hold of that.

Now back to cooking again. then I will watch the news.

Oh Larry, I pray that your son's interview goes well.  I know how frustrated he must feel.  Looking for new full-time employment is not easy.  I am thankful that I have a part-time position to fall back on and an employer who values me and my endeavors and is trying to leave me some free time during the week to search for something that will fill my needs.

Marilyn, can I borrow some of your vast wealth of money?    I know I would be tickled pink if I were to be earning that kind of paycheck.

Papa John, that is a wonderful photo of your happy grandchildren.

I had a short shift at work today, and had a to-do list of things I WANTED to get accomplished today.  Got some done but not all.  I will be shutting of the computer shortly and will spend the rest of the evening in front of the televisiion crocheting.  A fresh to-do list for tomorrow with today's chores carried over and a few more added.  I did get some things crossed off, so that is a good thing!

We have some great photos in our Gallery.  Now that we have the added space and bandwidth, I sure hope that all of our members take advantage of going in there each day and clicking on the Last Uploads to see what's new.  PLEASE COMMENT!  It's so discouraging to put photos into the gallery and have absolutely no one comment on them.

That large amount of money was NOT my earnings they had it listed as OTHER income.

My earnings don't even amount to half of that amount. Well if I add my Social Security to my earnings it comes to a little over half.

We have a very talented artist in protraitsbybev, You should go see her wonderful work in the gallery. Janet I know you will love them.

You are most welcome Pat.  I am not sure how to save them to my computer for future use, so thought I would send it to you because I know you know how!

Marilyn, I was just teasing because I know that you have just enough for your needs, and not much if any extra.  I think that most people are in that situation these days.

I haven't commented I don't think on any of Bev's photos, but I have looked at them, and they are great!  I can only imagine what the paintings look like because I'm sure the photos do not do them justice.

Sorry I've taken so long to get here, but I must let y'all know that our NITA needs much prayer now:

She called me about noon today and said her grandson, Kyle, had just been killed!  There was no time for anything more but for her to ask that we remember her (and the family) in prayer.  This is a sudden and terrible tragedy, and it seems more than anyone can bear ... But we all know that our God will never allow more than we can bear.  She and the family need much strength at this time and to be comforted in the way only our Father can comfort.  Thank you.  Jane

Oh such a shock, I have put the family on the prayer chain here and we are all praying for them, Jane please let Nita know that Abundand Life Center is praying for her. i have also called Pastor Danny.

This is such a shock.  I'm so sorry.

Let's all post our messages of condolence and sympathy to Nita in our newly created area so that she'll see them when she comes back to Christian Photographers.

SYMPATHY & BEREAVEMENT

Oh, I am so sorry to hear of this!  Was this the grandson who had been living with Nita?  Was it a car accident?  My heart goes out to all of the family; it does seem too much to bear.  I will be praying for them all.

Yes, Janet, Kyle had been living with Nita.  He just left for college, in Eugene, the last of September (26th, I think).  Nita didn't elaborate, but said they were on the way to the hospital, so that sounds like an accident and he was taken to the hospital.  His mother Rene lives in Phoenix, AZ. so that means she is having to come from there with this terrible heaviness and grief in her heart.  Kyle is her only child.  He was 19.

How tragic.
