JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Morning Devotional...

Take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place.
2 Peter 1:19

The presence of light repels darkness, thus defining its boundaries.

The darkness is not a place we would expect to find God, but even from the darkness His glories shine.

In the beginning He commanded light to shine out of darkness, and on Mt. Sinai from thick darkness He declared His holiness in the giving of the law.

But His greatest feat was bearing the judgment of my sin while hanging on a tree veiled in darkness.

Oh how the light of God's glory blazed forth that day! If your day seems dark, lift up your heart to Him and you will find that He can bring the comforting light of His glory into your darkness, too.
~Warren Henderson~

Sun of my soul, Thou Savior dear,
it is not night if Thou be near.
Oh, may no earth-born cloud arise
to hide Thee from Thy servant's eyes.

What? I am first I don't believe it. Thanks Pat for you work on the devotionals. they are always just what we need for the day.

Today  I doubt that I will get much done about the moving and packing, Versal has a Dr. appt this afternoon and by the time I get home I may be able to take over 1 load then it is Bible Study this evening. Tomorrow is my long day so I may not get anything done then either.

Our church is starting a new ministry. They will be helping people in the community and the church members with what ever needs doing, like getting me moved and there is another lady who's yard and home needs to be cleaned up and repaired. Pastor wants our church to be like the one in The Purpose Driven Life. Rick Warren's church.

I have the trunk of my car loaded with old cardboard, boxes that are way too small and a lot of Styrofoam out of the big boxes my computer and TV came in, I am so glad I saved those boxes but I do need to stop and get a few more boxes maybe 4 or 5.

I changed my resolution.  Too small but I will try it for awhile.  I have a 15" monitor so everything is small anyway.  And I still have a margin of over an inch on each side unused.  Doesn't make sense to have a webpage that doesn't cover the whole screen.  Just my opinion and I know I am hung up on that but that is me.  I used scroll + Ctrl to enlarge the print and now I have to scroll sideways so I am back to having to do the same as 800 x 600 resolution.  Doesn't make sense to me.

I am still behind 18 shows on TV so I will be scarce for a few days.
Especially when I get my new camera.

Sorry, Etta Sue.  :'( :'(

It's just the design of our theme to have a border.

Yes, Marilyn, you were first!  LOL   I decided to leave up yesterday's in case some other came in so that they could read about the New Look.

Sounds like you're going to have a very busy day tomorrow moving.

Great devotionals this morning!

Angela, glad you enjoyed the devotional.

I think that we should do some singing too!  How's that sound?

Thanks Soni for alerting me to the fact that our login is lost when we click on the Gallery button.

Please when you click on the Gallery button, then insert www. in the URL just before christianphotographers when you are in the gallery.

I think then that you'll find you're logged in.

We'll look into this.  I'll contact Oldiesmann.

I had to post a picture of this..I am so jazzed I got to meet Janet.  She and her husband are wonderful people.  They are both a riot and fun to be with.  Janet is very witty and kept us laughing most the time.

Janet and Me!

Pat

Ohhh, that's fantastic to see, Soni!

You both look so good.  I'm really happy you got to meet them.

Great to see you again Sonia itbeen so long since you have been here. Great meeting with Janet too.  I love to meet the CP'ers although I have only met Chris, Margit, Al, Marbeth and Jane.

Where are Chris and Margit?

got to go now the power is  going off at 8 for them to put in a new power pole in preparation for the new houses to go in here on this property. they are removing one that has been condemned. so my Computrer is also going to be shut down  very soon.

I could use some prayer today, I need the strength to carry on with this packing and moving bewteen now and Saturday. It is so hard when there is no one to help with the preparations and I have to do it all by myself, to work and continue with the things I do for church all at the same time.

Hi everyone.

Pat, you have done a great job on the new appearance and I really like it.  It is very professional looking.  Also thanks to Oldiesman for all of his help to us.  While yesterday I couldn't get the new look when signed in, my computer rebooted itself and this morning when I came to CP the new appearance is working fine.  I have been using 800x600 resolution on the 17" monitors I have but went back and changed to the higher resolution and then increased the font view to largest.  Now the appearance is very good and easily read.

Sonja, so good to see your posting and thanks for sharing the photo of your meeting with Janet.  I hope someday I will have the opportunity to meet Janet and Darrell, as well as the other folks here on CP, since I feel I know them already.

I am happy to say that I feel good again today.  After coffee and went to the auto supply store and got new windshield wipers for my Buick and Saturn.  The blades on the Buick had torn apart and were basiclly useless.  I have had it parked outside this summer and think that help the rubber deteriorate.  The ones on the Saturn aren't nearly that bad but think new ones will do a much better job.  Where I got them they come out and install the wipers for me.

Etta Sue, you might want to download a different browser and see how CP appears.  I am using Maxthon, which is built on MS Internet Explorer but uses tabs and I really like it.  Etta Sue, it sounds like your camera move was a good one.  You should have your new camera shortly.

Marilyn, at least the small boxes should not hurt your back and bigger ones might.  Of course, the men could move the larger boxes on Saturday for you.  That sounds like a good project to help those in need in your community (as well as helping those in your church family that needs some special help.)  Our church has a group like that as well.

Sue, sorry you didn't get your day off yesterday but hope you will have tomorrow off if that is what you want.

Ruth Ann, a short visit for you or any of our folks is better than no visit at all.  Hope you had a restful night.

I have some webwork for the church and the Golden Olympics so guess I had better get busy.  Hope everyone has a great day.

Carol

Pat:  Thanks for Amazing Grace  It is a sad song that I will always think of at funerals.  I once worked for a pastor who detested the song because he didn't want people to think of themselves at "wretches".  Still, I focus on the grace.

I am sore but movable - after shampooing carpet and redoing my sewing room, which meant really measuring and moving furniture.  All of this furniture moving for the last two days.  I am so lucky to be able to do these things and Don was a great help as well.  We certainly do not let him "overdo".

Pat:  Thanks for the "wake-up" song!

I am still looking around here at the new site - I like it.  Thanks Oldimann and Pat for all of your work.

All the changes with the new CP is working fine for me. I did a virus check and this morning before I could go on line I had to do a re-start.
All the problems are now solved.

I like the new changes to CP.
This evening I will be spending the evening with Sue as a friend of hers will be giving us a Mary Kay face lift. I will be taking my camera for a before and after.

Ruth, I'm so glad that everything is working ok for you.

It will be fun to have this makeover.  Will you let us see the photos?  PLEEEEZE?

The Anchor Holds
(Click to hear music)

Words and Music by Lawrence Chewning and Ray Boltz 1994 - Word Music

I have journeyed through the long, dark night
Out on the open sea,
By faith alone, sight unknown,
And yet His eyes were watching me.

The Anchor holds, though the ship is battered.
The Anchor holds, though the sails are torn.
Well I have fallen on my knees,
as I faced the raging sea,
But the Anchor holds, in spite of the storm.
I've had visions and I've had dreams;
Well I've even held them in my hands,
But I never knew those dreams could slip right through
Like they were only grains of sand.

O, the Anchor holds, though the ship is battered.
The Anchor holds, though the sails are torn.
Well I have fallen on my knees,
as I faced the raging seas.
O, the Anchor holds, in spite of the storm.
Now I have been young, but I am older now.
O and there has been beauty these eyes have seen;
But it was in the night, when I faced the storms of my life.
Oh, that's where God proved His love to me.

The Anchor holds, though the ship is battered.
The Anchor holds, though the sails are torn.
I have fallen, fallen down on my knees
as I faced the raging seas.
But the Anchor holds; O, in spite of the storm.
I said I've fallen, fallen down on my knees
as I faced the raging seas;
But the Anchor holds, in spite of the storm.

Oh Pat  My Anchor holds.  That song turns me to tears every time.  It upheld me during a difficult tiime in the past year and a half.

Soni You have been missed!  Wonderful Picture!

John was a the company he drives for on Monday and Tuesday.  They gave us 6 pickup loads of wood to cut, split and take.  We had about 6 men from our church come and help out and work with John both days.  The owners are not Christians, and it was quite a testimony the men gave with their work, laughter and lack of foul language.  Praise God for believing friends who have been faithful in their lives.

We am back from a meeting and are very tired.  Cimi went with us and she was wonderful.  Sat quietly in the car and loved any attention she got.  She is such a sensitive pooch.

Another BIG day tomorrow.  We are putting new vinyl into our main bathroom.  It has long needed it and I am anxious to get it done.

Well Good Night
Judy

Pat

And what time will you be finished the vinyl job, Judy?  ;)
