Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Morning Devotional...

These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
John 15:11

My joy! The joy of the Man of Sorrows! We are familiar with His sighs and His tears, but—My joy! Here is the joy of a Son on uniquely intimate terms with the Father (Lk. 10:21).

The joy of the Shepherd finding the sheep that was lost (Lk. 15:5).

The joy of the Saviour giving His all to purchase a treasure (Mt. 13:44).

The joy of the Sin-Bearer anticipating future Glory (Heb. 12:2).

The joy of the Sovereign rewarding His servants (Mt. 25:23).

And we shall share His joy!
—Jim Flanigan

Hi everyone.  It is not very long since I posted fairly late last evening but have a few minutes so wanted to go ahead and say good morning.

Al, glad to hear your report was so positive.  My recent blood test showed that my PSA is now down to 0.24.  It was 0.25 3 months ago.

Marilyn, glad to see your power will be back on.

Looking forward to coffee at the senior center this morning and then my friend and I are going to check out the new Best Buy (computer store) that is opening today in our area.

Marilyn

Good Morning I am in a little bit earlier today than usual. Had a good nights sleep and fell rested this morning.

Larry and Al good to hear your good reports. Low PSA's is good.

Gilbert will be over this morning to get his stuff and take it home. He didn't make it last evening.

Pat thank you for the devotional, you do so much on so many different site I don't see how you can keep up with it all and still have the time to do your Avon thing too.

Well I am going go read my devotional and my bible and will be back later.

QuoteThis summer we returned for what will probably be the last time for one last look-see.

Fast Eddie I am glad you had a good time up here in the North.  I wish I had known you were coming up and we could have met for coffee and pictures at Tim Hortons.  Traveling up Highway 11 you would have passed the town of Powassan.  We are west of town about 10 miles or so.  I am glad you enjoyed our neck of the woods.

Last night was the coldest we have had so far. Down to 5*C.  It is to stay low for the next little while.  They are saying "seasonal temperatures".  John has cleaned the veggies out of the garden, just leaving the zucchini, tomatoes, and potatoes.  There is enough leaf covering to protect the still ripening veggies.

I enjoyed the devotional Pat.  We are to be refined as gold.  I wonder if the gold that is being refined yells and screams  that the refining is not fair?  Yet we mortals do just that.  I pray I will be more accepting of the refining God is giving me.

Got to go.  I have a big day planned with John.  It is wonderfu;l  to be able to spend time together.  He is away so much that this week is a real treat.

Bye and God belss you all.

Powassan: Isn't that the place that they used to make those 18 ft Cedar boats that used to be so popular on Nippissing?

We started going up to Nippissing in '68 because our backyard neighbors here in Wayne owned a resort at the west end of the lake. Every summer was spent up there by them till they got up in years and sold it.

We looked forward each May to seeing the changes that took place since we had last been there.  It was an annual event for many many years till our kids got families of their own.

Larry ~ I am so glad that you are feeling much better.  We sure don't like to hear that our cyberfriends are hurting.

Nards ~ Glad you stopped in to let us know where Karma was.  Come back more often.

Marilyn ~ How is the headache?  I can't sympathize with you on that...never have had a bad headache...just head twinges.  I can shut my eyes and totally relax a few minutes and it is gone.  Once you get moved and settled, your headaches will be gone.

Al ~ How was your lipid evaluation?  That is cholesterol, right?  Hope your meds are doing the job for you.  Edit:  Sounds like your numbers are great in your evaluation from your tests.

JudyB ~ We are having one of those dark, cloudy, gloomy days today here.  With everyone gone in the neighborhood, I walked over to my brothers and got his paper.  Really dark out.

Geri-jean ~ A great thing about cyberville...morning can be anytime to someone.  So Good Morning, Geri-jean.

Pat ~ Now how did you hear Ali cry.  She isn't crying to be let in...she is never out...but crying for me to turn on the faucet.  That girl sure drinks a lot when I am in the computility room!!

Papa John ~ My son and dil are leaving today for Gatlinburg...so if you see a couple on a Pearlized Harley Davidson, yell 'Tony' and 'Charlene' to them.  They are taking the truc and cargo trailer with Pearl inside.  There will be 2-3 other cycles with them.  You and Cornelia have a great time.

Ruth ~ I saw your makeover pictures.  I thought they were pictures from the Emmy Awards!!

Nita ~ I am using Firefox but I went back and changed my resolution back to the original setting.  I can get used to it here but it was making other sites become too small.  Give those two little guys extra hugs for me.  I can only imagine how Rocko looked after grooming.  Do they powder him also?

Sue ~ Two professions in America are compensated when a natural disaster strikes...farmers and gas companies.  I still haven't heard if there was much damage on the oil rigs due to Katrina.  Just know that they 'thought there would be' so that is why they raised the prices plus they were unable to work a few days.  Geesh!  Look at millions of people in the Gulf that are unable to work at their jobs several days/months.  It will take a lot of convincing to convince me the gas prices is NOT price gouging.

Ruth Ann ~ Have a great time in Chicago week after next.  Sounds like you are getting back in the groove of things.

Carol ~ It was told on the TV that gas would be between $3 and $4 all winter and bottle gas would be 70% higher than last year.  A lot of people will be unable to get to their jobs because they can't afford gas for their vehicles and some people will be super cold this winter because of heat costs.  I am just glad I purchased my electric fire place..it will get lots of use this year.

Fast Eddie ~ Your description of North Bay makes me want to travel to North Bay.  I know you had a great time with your grandson.

Smokeythedog ~ Thank you for the scripture from Nehemiah...for the joy of the LORD is your strength.  AMEN!

Where is TBear? ? ? ?

Well, at about 4:30 p.m. yesterday I got my new camera.  I really like it.  It is smaller than my FD Mavica 75.  It has 12 x zoom as well as macro.  I can record movies, too.  And that is all I know so far.  I am ready to take some super photos and enter them in contests with my Photography Guild.  Kitty knows all the ropes about the contests.  Just super happy that I got the camera before Fall colors appear in central Indiana.  Just think, I waited from July 10 to September 19 on the other company and still no camera.  I ordered from Ibuydigital.com and got it in 4 days!!!  WooEEEE!!

I have one classmate that I went to school with all 12 years and I am going out to lunch with her today.  Her birthday was yesterday and mine was two weeks ago.  I asked Barbara yesterday if she remembered that I joined 4-H on her birthday and the meeting was at her house?  She didn't and I don't remember what year...just the date.

Everyone have a God-blessed day!!

Hello all!  Nards and I are also headed towards the Gatlinburg area tomorrow (actually Sevierville) but I'll keep my eyes out.  Will they have Indi plates?

The conference was pretty good yesterday.  The City of Asheville really dropped the ball with the crowd control and traffic control though.  It was ridiculous.

I gotta run, Kristi is asleep, and there are a couple of things I want to do before she wakes up (or Travis wakes her up ;) ).

JudyB

Fast Eddie, Yes Giesler Marine is in Powassan.  The Giesler cedar strip boats are very popular.  Ironically we bought one a number of years ago that needs work.  There is some punky wood and it needs fiberglassing.  It costs big to have Giesler's do it and unfortunately John is reluctant to try the fiberglassing himself.  I wish someone who knew how to do it could help him.

Etta Sue I have wondered about tBear as well.  I hope her problem is as simple (yet difficult) as puter problems.  I too can hear your cat meowing for the faucet to be turned on.  What is it with our kitties?

Has anyone heard from Janet?

Karms and Nards, john will be back down in your neck of the woods next week.  He will have a trainee with him and it will be a training week.  A good friend will be working with John soon, it will be good to see him again.  When John lived in Cambridge he stayed with Rick for part of the time, now Rick is moving North with us.  Remember him in your prayers, as he has turned his back on "religion".  He was raised in a Christian home and his Father is in not too good health.  He would love to see Rick come to know the Lord before he dies.

Well I have a lot to do before John gets in, (He went to pay a couple of bills.) and then we are going out for a bit.

Have a good day everyone.

My power is back on, I have been to the other house with the dogs to the bank and now I me pretty settled in here to relax and get ready for tomorrow. Gilbert was by for his stuff and a friend from church will pick me up just before 3 to go get the truck.  I didn't even keep my crocheting here . I may go out later and get a burger or something.

John is back from N Bay and we are going out again in a few minutes.

We had a nice drive today over to Knoxville where we will spend the night with our daughter, Beth, and SIL, James.

I turned on my laptop and was immediately on line through James' wireless router.

We will keep our eyes open for them.

Karmat, we'll keep our eyes open for you too.

James is going to grill out hamburgers for our supper.

I hope everyone is doing well today.

Repairing The Breach

By Roy Lessin, Co-Founder DaySpring Cards.

"...I had rebuilt the wall, and there was no breach left therein...." Nehemiah 6:1

The devastation created by hurricane Katrina has brought us so many powerful, mind-boggling images. Daily, the things that we have seen on television have moved us with compassion, touched our hearts, and motivated us to respond.

One of the images that greatly impacted me was the massive task of repairing the breach in one of the levee walls. As I watched a steady stream of giant sandbags being dropped into the water by helicopters, it seemed like the sandbags were disappearing into a bottomless pit. I wondered if the needed repair would ever be made. What a joy it was to see the levee, days later, with the breach repaired, and sandbags actually sitting above the waterline.

In Psalms 51:6 we read, "Behold, You (God) desire truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom." God desires that His truth be established within us. His truth can be likened to a protective wall that guards us from the damaging lies of the enemy. Truth's protective wall helps to establish our hearts in love and grace. It provides a positive environment where our spirits can be nurtured and our faith can grow.

Whenever we allow one of Satan's lies to enter our hearts, we create a breach in truth's protective wall. As long as the breach remains, our hearts will be flooded with doubts, fears, and condemning thoughts that God never intended us to dwell upon—thoughts that will rob us of our peace and steal our joy.

Here are seven lies that can breach God's protective wall of truth within you:

1.  God can't be trusted.
(The truth is...God is faithful.)

2.  God is against you.
(The truth is...God is for you.)

3.  You are not good enough to be blessed.
(The truth is...Christ is your righteousness and you have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in Him.)

4.  God cares about others more than He cares about you.
(The truth is...God cares for you.)

5.  God really doesn't love you.
(The truth is...God loves you with an everlasting love.)
6.Your situation is hopeless.
(The truth is...With God, nothing is impossible.)

7. Things will never change.
(The truth is...God makes all things new.)

Ruth Ann Bice

Hi, friends,

I was checking the hours I worked this week, and discovered that a 3:30 departure from work would be nice. So, my grocery shopping is already finished, I've put almost everything away, and had a bit of dinner. It's been good to read all of your comments.

Larry and Etta Sue, I'll enjoy seeing those folk again, but am extremely surprised that the big manager wanted me there for so long. Normally, it's a 1 night trip. Oh, well, he's probably got a real reason he wants me there for that long, so I'm thankful my boss approved.

Marilyn, I don't know how you'v ebeen able to do all you do in getting ready for the move. May it go well tomorrow and may you rest this evening so you'll be more ready to face tomorrow's challenges.

Y'all have a good evening.

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

I'm just here for a moment (again) and just wanted to let all y'all know that I'm still without a car.  There was a problem locating the part, and it was finally located in San Diego, CA.  Delivered to the wrong store today so I am still on hold.  Then Russ called to say they had removed the old cylinder head and found that the shift cables are broken.  He said they were just hanging together by a thread!  So ... have to order another pair of shift cables and they won't be here until Tuesday.  Also that adds another $400 to the original estimate for parts and labor!  Oh, well ..... I should have my car back home by late Tuesday, at any rate.

Marilyn~ I know how you feel with the truck sitting outside but still having to wait until tomorrow.  I did that when I moved from Oklahoma.  Only I couldn't take loads over on my own.  I drove the Ryder truck from Oklahoma to California by myself, towing my car behind the truck!  Quite an adventure, to say the least.

I am happy all the tests and "procedures" have brought good results and better health.

My neighbor has invited me to a Senior Potluck (they call it a Pot Blessing) at their church this evening and I need to get ready, so I'll be seeing y'all later .........
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Marilyn

I think I will go get a Veggie Sub Sandwich for supper. No cooking for me tonight.

Oh Yeah Jane I wish it was already over. there is much to do tomorrow night so that I will be ready for church on Sunday Morning.

Some of the neighbors have already been over to welcome me to the neighborhood and offer help if I need it.  The man from across the street (Bill) came over to find out if I am a Christian and told me all about his new Companion Bible. I will have to invite him to church the next time I see him. He has a nice German shepard/Rhodisian RidgBack cross dog. There are two Jack Russell/mixes next door.I thank I am going to love it there. It is a nice neighborhood.'

Marilyn, it is so nice to hear that you are to have nice neighbours and they have already welcomed you.  I wonder how much sleep you will get tonight.  I know when I moved, I didn't get much sleep the night before just because of excitement.

RuthAnn, I hope that you will be able to get the rest you need while you are on your business trip.  You really do not need a set-back in your recovery.

Thank you for the wonderful comments about the Makeovers.  The makeover made my mother shine more than she usually does!  I wasn't too impressed with mine, and believe that I may actually have had a reaction to the product.  It felt much better once it was washed off.

I went to work today and saw the new schedule, and was surprised.  I have more hours than expected over the next two weeks.    I also have a busy day planned for tomorrow and only a few hours left in today, so must get busy and get a few things done tonight.  First though I think I will sit with a cup of tea and watch the Gaithers.

Carol

Pat:  Your devotion reminded me of a tee-shirt that one grandson wore several years ago.  It said something like "God doesn't make junk".  I may have forgotten part of it as it was reference to whomever was wearing the shirt.

Al:  Your numbers are just terrific.  What a blessing.

Larry:  I hope that your reduced test numbers mean that it is better.  I don't know what it should be for you.  Best Buy is not my favorite place - difficult to return something.

We went out for dinner - tacos were $1.00 each and I had three and drank water.

Carol

Marilyn

Carol those are my kind of prices for tacos. I love tacos.
