Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is His name.
Exodus 15:3

Since the fall, man has been in a war between good and evil, heaven and earth, God and Satan. The Lord injected Himself into the battle on ourbehalf and "He hath triumphed gloriously"--here for Israel at the Red Sea and for us at Calvary.

Victorious over the enemy, He has "made a show of them openly, triumphing over them" and brought us true peace.

The "Man of War" first became the "Man of Sorrows" (Isa. 53:3) that He might ever be the Man of Glory (Heb. 12:2).
--Sam Thorpe

Look, ye saints! The sight is glorious:
see the Man of Sorrows now;
From the fight return victorious,
every knee to Him shall bow:
Crown Him! Crown Him!
Crown Him! Crown Him!
Crowns become the Victor's brow.
Thomas Kelly

Crown Him with Many Crowns
(Click to hear music)

His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns;
and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
Revelation 19:12

Author:  Matthew Bridges, 1800-1894, and
Godfrey Thring, 1823-1903
Musician:  George J. Elvey, 1816-1893

Crown Him with many crowns, The Lamb upon His throne;
Hark! how the heav'nly anthem drowns All music but its own.
Awake, my soul, and sing Of Him who died for thee,
And hail Him as thy matchless King Thro' all eternity.

Crown Him the Son of God Before the worlds began:
And ye, who tread where He hath trod, Crown Him the Son of man;
Who ev'ry grief hath known That wrings the human breast,
And takes and bears them for His own, That all in Him may rest.

Crown Him the Lord of love! Behold His hands and side,
Rich wounds, yet visible above, In beauty glorified:
No angel in the sky Can fully bear that sight,
But downward bends his wond'ring eye At mysteries so bright.

Crown Him the Lord of life, Who triumphed o'er the grave,
And rose victorious in the strife For those He came to save;
His glories now we sing Who died, and rose on high,
Who died, eternal life to bring, And lives that death may die.

Crown Him the Lord of years, The Potentate of time,
Creator of the rolling spheres Ineffably sublime!
All hail, Redeemer, hail! For Thou hast died for me:
Thy praise shall never, never fail Thro'out eternity.

What a very busy day I had today.  I had to take an elderly friend to the dr. and she's to have chemo injections.  They were hoping that someone at home would be able to do this to save her having to try and make her way to the dr. or to a clinic.

So, I've volunteered to do this for her.  I must go to the hospital on Thursday to go through the little training procedure.  I guess with all the needles I gave my husband over the years, it will all come back to me.

Then a meeting this evening which was very, very late getting out.

While I was at the meeting, Judy and my brother, Murray telephoned and left a message on my machine.  He's to have his bladder out as soon as possible due to cancer and must have many tests and a bone scan in the coming days.

This has shocked me quite a lot since we first heard this news a few weeks ago but today's news sure makes it hit right home.

Please pray for our family.

Good Morning All,

Pat, I will pray for you and yours! Hope all works out well!

Well, it's been very busy this past week. Michael did super in Florida and even though he was overwhelmed at times by all the sights and sounds he had a great time. He is spoiled now, expects to go, go, go. But it's time to get back to the real world, pt, ot speach and all that. I had a great time as well, lots of pictures. I will post some as soon as they are organized.

Hope all are well and blessed each day.

Blessings,
<><Jeannine

Pat - this hymn seems appropriate to the situation you're facing:

Praise the Savior, ye who know Him!
Who can tell how much we owe Him?
Gladly let us render to Hiom
All we are and have.

Trust in Him, ye saints forever;
He is faithul, changing never;
Neither force nor guile can sever
Those He loves from Him!

Oh Pat such sad news. I am praying for your family.

We got back from Oregon about 11:30 and I went right to bed, was awake by 5:15 it seems that no matter what time I go to bed I am still up at the same time. I've been doing that for so many years I don't even need an alarm.

So foggy here today. I spoke to the garage yesterday and my car may possibly be ready today. Gilbert is getting impatient for  his car back even though he has two more cars. We had no idea it would take two weeks for my car to be fixed.

Pat that is so kind of you to give you find her chemo  injections. My friend Willa still has one my chemo treatment on the 3rd of Oct. This last one caused her to break out in a terrible rash all over her body.

Good Morning Everyone...

It's such a lovely day here in Guelph.  The autumn colours are starting to be in their full glory.  The sun is shining and the temperature isn't too hot so I may go out and see if there are some photo opportunities.

It's been such a busy two weeks for me that I almost feel like a stranger her!  :)  Thanks to you all for keeping things going.

Tomorrow I will go to the hospital just to make sure I'm still up to date on how to give injections and then the first one for my friend will be on Friday.

Thanks for your loving comments about Judy and my dear brother.  I just hung up the phone with him and his spirits are wonderful.  He was busy looking after getting the Deacon reports all tidied up to hand over to the new Chair of the Deacons Board.  He's in no pain and he just says that the worst thing is the waiting for the phone to ring to say when another test is.

God bless each and every one of you and hopefully we'll be back full speed in here soon.

Show us your photos!  I'll see if I can get some to share later today.

Larry ~ I keep my car in the garage...detached garage and no one went back that far.  Ivalou was watching them from her house and she did say that one of them looked behind my house but didn't go back there.  If they would have went to my front door, they probably would have seen me but they didn't.  But after Kitty said they walked right into her house...her garage door was open and they went through it, into a little hallway into the utility room and turned to go into her kitchen.  There are always two people...men or women.

Pat ~ I feel for your brother Murray.  God bless him and I pray they get all the cancer from his body and he recovers quickly with hopes of a long future.

With that being said...I have bladder cancer.  If I had waited maybe two months to go to the doctor, I would have had to have my bladder removed also.  Sorry, but men tend to put off going to the doctor.  If you notice any pain while voiding, go to the doctor.  If you notice any blood, go to the doctor.  If you notice having to go to the bathroom more often, go to the doctor.  If you notice having to go to the bathroom and then not expelling a lot of urine, go to the doctor.  If you notice you don't have to go to the bathroom as often, go to the doctor.  In a sense, if you notice anything different than the norm, go to the doctor.  Yes, it is an inconvenience to have to have cystoscopies and going under to have tumors removed but at least, you don't have to change those bags and get infections and all that.  And I hate the word CANCER just like anyone else but my bladder cancer is 100% controllable and is if detected early!  I was diagnosed with bladder cancer in August of 1996!  I told my Urologist that I was waiting for a bladder transplant so I wouldn't have Urge Incontinence and Stress Incontinence.  I know, too much information...but a fact!

I just got through talking to Mieka on IM and she said tell all her CP friends Hi.  So Hi from Mieka!

It is chilly in Indiana today so I have a pot of Pinto beans on the stove and will be making some cornbread.  Add some onions and some catsup and voila!  A warming meal for lunch!

Bright and sunny here in Indiana today.  I can hear tractors running since it is harvest time.  Soon it will be very colorful...in a couple more weeks.

Janet

Goodness, it is nearly 2 PM already!  I spent the morning swimming, then delivering product, and spent some time with Beth, Mom, and a couple I know at the care home, reading them my China Report.  They enjoyed it, they said.

Now it is back to the decluttering!  I'm actually beginning to see a difference in my studio!  8)

Pat, I will continue to pray for you, Judy and your dear brother.  I'm so sorry he has to face this.  But our God is greater than cancer or any other disease, and it is He who holds Murray in the palm of His hand.  (((((((hugs))))))) to all of you.

Marilyn, I am sending you a PM.

Good Morning,  :coffee:

Pat, I have prayed for Murray and for you.  And thank you for the devotional.

I was encouraged by Paul's introduction, in his first letter to believers in Thessalonica.  This is part of it.

   Every time we think of you, we thank God for you. Day and night you're in our prayers as we call to mind your work of faith, your labor of love, and your patience of hope in following our Master, Jesus Christ, before God our Father.  It is clear to us, friends, that God not only loves you very much but also has put his hand on you for something special.  When the Message we preached came to you, it wasn't just words. Something happened in you. The Holy Spirit put steel in your convictions.
    You paid careful attention to the way we lived among you, and determined to live that way yourselves. In imitating us, you imitated the Master. Although great trouble accompanied the Word, you were able to take great joy from the Holy Spirit!—taking the trouble with the joy, the joy with the trouble.

I have been organizing downstairs and moving furniture which makes me sleepy now.   We are carefully watching the school hostage situation in Bailey.  What a terrible stress for everyone - parents, teachers, students and the police as well.  Pray for a non-violent ending.

Pat:  What a shock of news on your brother - I send my prayers to you and everyone concerned.

Carol, I hadn't heard about the school hostage situation!  I pray it ends with no one being hurt!

I have been working on my studio for days now.  Why, oh, why have I kept so much stuff through the years?  Oh, yeah, now I remember!  I was planning on using it---someday.  The time has come to pitch out so much stuff...magazines, old mat corners, etc., etc., etc.  I think two or three more days will finish it.  I have to make room and organize my scrapbooking materials, if that is possible!  :-\

We are ready to go to church, have a bit of time yet before we go, so I thought I would check in and see what's happening.

Ruth Ann Bice

Hi, friends,

I thoroughly enjoyed my week off with my grandson last week. We "did the town" in touristing, and then took him and his friend to Memphis (of course, they wanted to "see Elvis"). While here, my daughter and her boyfriend took us to see a pre-season ice hockey game in Memphis. There was another one Saturday night here in Nashville, but was truly too exhausted to go with them.

And, naturally, when I got back to work it turned out that this will be a very busy week. I've already worked a number of hours overtime, so am going to go get my medication boxes in order for the next 2 weeks, and then head to bed.

I'm so sorry to hear of your brother's cancer, Pat. That's really devastating to all involved. Etta Sue, what a wonderful thing that you can give us all both the good tips and we can rejoice with you that you're a survivor!

Y'all have a good evening.

Ruth Ann

Thank you my dear friends.

We had terrible rain storms here after I posted earlier so didn't get out to take photos as I had planned.  I did some errands though.
