JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

Their works do follow them.
Revelation 14:13

A Christian's service for God cannot continue indefinitely. But as ripples
on a pond continue to emanate outward long after the pebble that caused them has vanished, so too God can continue to bless labour for Him after the endeavor itself has ended.

Fret not if you can no longer serve God in ways that you once were able: He can still bring blessing from past labour.

Conversely, while you still have strength and ability, use it for the Lord.

Give of Your Best to the Master
(Click to hear music)

Author:  Howard B. Grose, 1851-1939
Musician:  Charlotte A. Barnard, 1830-1869

Out of all your gifts ye shall offer every
heave offering of the LORD, of all the best thereof,
even the hallowed part thereof out of it.
Numbers 18:29

Give of your best to the Master;
Give of the strength of your youth.
Throw your soul's fresh, glowing ardor
Into the battle for truth.
Jesus has set the example,
Dauntless was He, young and brave.
Give Him your loyal devotion;
Give Him the best that you have.

Refrain

Give of your best to the Master;
Give of the strength of your youth.
Clad in salvation's full armor,
Join in the battle for truth.

Give of your best to the Master;
Give Him first place in your heart.
Give Him first place in your service;
Consecrate every part.
Give, and to you will be given;
God His beloved Son gave.
Gratefully seeking to serve Him,
Give Him the best that you have.

Refrain

Naught else is worthy His love.
He gave Himself for your ransom,
Gave up His glory above.
Laid down His life without murmur,
You from sin's ruin to save.
Give Him your heart's adoration;
Give Him the best that you have.

Refrain

Hi everyone.  I am at our Senior Center working on a computer our Learning Center set up for the use of the patron and it is located outside the classroom.  We had to come early as Pat is in charge of a luncheon she attends once a month and today is my Computer Learning Center Volunteers Meeting and then at 1 pm we have the PC User Group Meeting.  So it is a busy day.  I have already been to the Senior Center for our Friday Men's morning coffee.  I have one of the two keys and so have to get up there shortly after 7 am to unlock, turn on the lights, start the two pots of coffee and put out the cups and related items such as sugar and powdered creme.

We had a very busy day yesterday.  We left the house at 10 am and didn't stop running until around 8:30 pm when we got back home.  However, it was a good day.

Sue, I am like you in that I know a bit about computers after using them for 25 years but it seems I learn something new everyday.  I think that is what makes computers so much fun.  Sometimes I am relearning someone I once knew because if you don't use a technique or program for awhile there is a new learning curve.  Therfefore, any of you having questions should let us know because one of our group here probably knows the answer and can give you some help.

Janet, when I get home I will try to look up the process of changing your photo and let you know.  Perhaps Pat will be by and help before I can do it but if not I remember it isn't hard.  The main thing is to resize your photo and then you have to have it on a server from which it can be called.  I think it is in preferences where the path is changed.  I am sure the instructions are probably somewhere on the site but don't have the time this morning to look.  I am sure we are all anxious to see the "new you".  I started to write "new and improved" but how can you be improved.  :)

Sarah, sometimes we have to find our own quiet space.  Just remember that what may be occurring with family members isn't your fault nor is it your responsibility to fix it.

Well, guess I had better close for now as it will soon be time for my meeting.

Marilyn

Good Morning; I will be off pretty soon to go clean house for that couple I go to twice a month. I will get off work at 12:30. After that I have not thought of anything else to do other that take the dogs out for their walks.  The air quality isn't very good at this time due to all the fires northeast and east of here. the main highway going east was closed over the weekend and possibly may still be closed, I don' know for sure. So I didn't take the dogs out yesterday and I stayed in also.  Coming back from Eureka yesterday I could see the smoke was coming over  the Coast Range Mountains on which this part of the  county  sits. There is not much room between the mountains and the ocean here Maybe 1-2 miles at the most.

Anyway Thank you Pat for the devotional today. Are you feeling any better? I have been so blessed this year with good health and not even a cold. being able to stop using my  Asthma inhalers and feeling so great.

Thanks for the thank you's for the devotion I posted.  That means a lot.

I had a wonderful time spending the day with Kitty yesterday.  She took me to 'The Mill' in Marion, Indiana, for lunch.  It used to be an old grist mill along the Missisinawa River.  We went upstairs and sat outside on the balconey.  The weather was perfect and the atmosphere better.  Not much happening on the river other than some fishermen and egrets and such flying around.  (The fishermen weren't flying around...just the birds!)  Then we went west to Rainbow Christian Campground and took lots of photos.  They have a ¼ replica of Noah's Ark, a swimmin' hole that was yucky green, a darling gazebo in the middle of the swimmin' hole with a walkway to it, a little red barn with llama, donkey, calf and chickens.  Lots of photo ops!

Then we stopped at an Amish restaurant for pie and a drink.  Then Kitty remembered an old schoolhouse converted into a Wicker place.  We finally found it and what beautiful wicker....everything from living room suits to wall hangings.  By then we were hungry again so had dinner at Quizno's in Noblesville.  She gave me a beautiful basket with fall leaves trimming it.  I put my artificial fruit in it and it is sitting on my dining room table.

This morning Ivalou, Kaye Don, Barb and I went out for breakfast and I certainly made a pig of myself.  Then Ivalou and I are going out with Tony and Charlene tonight.  Lots of eating but when you get my age that's what you do on your birthday.

I see Marilyn posted a Happy Birthday to me while I was composing....thank you, Marilyn!!

Yes there are 8  cats. Etta's.

Please pray for the Drake family. Rosena, wife and mother passed away day before yesterday. She was eating and choked on  piece of meat,  she went into a panic attack had a heart attack and died. They got the meat out but I was too late. She and her husband Don used to attend my church. the happened after their Wed night service.

Thanks to everyone who expressed for me to have a Happy Birthday.  It worked.  I did.

Tony, Charlene, Ivalou and I ate at a Mexican restaurant last night and then went for ice cream at 'Ye Ol' Ice Cream Place', established 1998.  Yes, 1998.  Charlene said that like it was a real old place until I reminded her...that's only 8 years!

At noon is my 60 Chix luncheon with the girls in my class of 1960.  We are going to IHOP.  And I think I need to stop somewhere on the way back and get some kitty food.  Neither of these girls like the last bag of cat food I got.  They will get mighty skinny on this bag.

I went to the mailbox this morning to take out a letter and you certainly can feel fall in the air.  I always know that when my birthday comes, it is downhill from there, weather-wise.  Time to get out a jacket.

I posted a couple of photos yesterday, here.

And another one here.

Hi everyone.  I will post this morning before I head out for the day.  Pat and I have a full morning and early afternoon planned and then hope to stay home the rest of the day and watch some football.  The University of Georgia plays South Carolina this evening at 8 pm.  There are a lot of games on this afternoon as well.

Etta Sue, it sounds like you will be ready to eat at home for a couple of days.  Of course, I know it is nice not to have to prepare a meal for yourself.

Yesterday Pat and I decided to change our plans in terms of how we are going to travel at the end of the month.  We had planned to drive but decided to fly as by the time you consider the cost of everything it isn't much more to fly and it save about 6 days on the road and the wear and tear on our car and particularly on us.  The trip would have required over 2,000 miles of driving.  So I made the airline reservations yesterday evening.  Now I have to arrange for a couple of car rentals and then we should be set on our travel plans.  I think I will not hassle with my laptop on this trip as there are libraries available in Independence, Missouri  and I expect the hotel where we stay in Denver will have a public computer.  If not, no problem as we will only be there for the weekend.  We are going to shorten our trip by 4 or 5 days from what we had originally planned.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend.  It is cooler here today and put on a sweater.  In a few days I will be getting out my sweatshirts that are so nice and warm.  I am very cold natured, probably due to all the heart medicines I take.

Marilyn

Good Morning. Hey Etta Sue those are very good photos. I love the one through the knot hole.

I have no plans for today except to go deliver a box of cookies to Jan that I bought for her at Costco and drop of Ruth's handicap placard that Accidentally forgot to take out of my car on Wednesday.

I received and installed  my new 512 megs memory card yesterday and will give the 128 that I took out to Gilbert. His computer is newer than mine but the parts are interchangeable as they are both Dells. My computer loads so fast now. Unbelievable!

Good Morning Everyone...

Just getting ready to go away for the day.  It's our Family Reunion today so hopefully the rain will leave us and the sun will shine.

Judy McKenna is in the hospital.  She had one of her artificial hips collapse and the other one needs replacing so please pray for her.

Don't send any mail to her as she won't get it.  It may be a few months till she's able to get to her computer.

About today it is raining although it is to end this morning I do feel that it will be this way all day.  Sue has called and soon she will be here and it seems that rain or more rain we will be going to the Binder Twine Festival in Kleinburg a little town south of here.

Etta Sue: From your posts you must have had a most wonderful Birthday. Happy Belated Birthday.

Larry:  You give such encouraging words and help.

Marilyn:  I would be afraid to do with my computer the things you are doing. I would have it broke in short order.  It takes time but our tower goes to the computer man up the street.

Pat: Thanks for telling us about Judy McKenna let her know that she will be in my prayers.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Proverbs 3:6

Cloudy day on the island and we are all hoping for rain!  Everything is so dry here and this is not a good thing.....

Amanda has a car now, next step is the final driving test.  They first thought about a new car, then decided to get a real good used one.  More sensible for a first vehicle.   She is totally pleased!

Went to Victoria with them for a shopping tour to purchase all of Amanda's Art Supplies for her first five courses.  Many hundreds of dollars later, tired and sore, I took them for a Pizza at Romeo's and called it a day.  I bought a Natural Light Lamp for my art work, as not seeing well these days.  It has a magnifiying attachment that will really help.  Also got a smaller version, portable, natural light, for Amanda to put on her art table.  She needs to save her eyesight!  The darn things cost a fortune, but consider it to be a good investment.  Also went to the Art Gallery with Amanda, as she had that as part of her school work.  It was interesting, but is a small gallery, not like Vancouver.

Must go and do much work.  Also cook dinner tonight.  Busy, busy!!

Belated Birthday Wishes to Etta Sue.

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Liz
