Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

She said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy.
2 Kings 5:3

This little maid had two ways to respond to her situation: She could mope and feel sorry for herself, or she could hope and feel sorry for everyone else.

She chose the latter, and look at the results! Her response was very simple.

Syria was to be the next missionary outpost for Israel and she was to be the pioneer missionary there!

She could see Naaman as either a villain or a victim, and she chose the latter. It was her choice to minister to the needs of her oppressor--and God wrought a mighty miracle as a result.
--Craig Funston

Let self be crucified and slain
and buried deep; and all in vain
May efforts be to rise again--
unless to live for others.

Happy Birthday!!

Hello all.  Just  cruising through before I hit the bed.

Bit of a praise report -- As some of you may know, the towns surrounding Bernard and I have had some massive flooding (Probably the worst in over 60 years).  One of the buildings that was completely flooded was the old national guard armory in Canton.  In the front half and the second floor was a fitness center.  In the back half, on the first floor, was the Canton Sr. Citizen Center where I teach on Wednesday mornings.  They lost everything.  I saw one of my supervisor's yesterday and she mentioned my records (attendance, registration, etc.) that were there.  Hmmmm.  I got home and checked and sure enough, I had gotten all of them the Wed. before and brought them home with me (I don't even remember why now).  It is not a huge deal, in that some of the registrations could have been "recreated" but the attendance records were a big deal.  Not to mention, it saved me several hours of work. :-)  So, thank you God.

Now, if Ivan will just stay in the coast and die a peaceful death there (his track is projected to bring us more heavy rain at the end of the week -- not a good thing).

Have an awesome week ya'll!!!!

Goodmorning.

Pat thank-you. Short but sweet this devotional and food for thought.

Lots of rain here and a cold wind this Autumn morning.

Gosh Karma what a lovely blessing from Our Lord for you.  He is watching over you.  All that extra work would have been distressing in your present condition.  God is good all the time. He cares for His own.  Praise Him indeed!

                   Happy Birthday Skief

God Bless all.
Jenny.

Sarah

good morning all
hope you have a wonderful day! but i don't have much time to stop and talk gotta get ready for school ttyl
Sarah

Etta Sue

I am glad I saved my post to notepad when CP was being rebooted!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MIKE!!!!
Sonja, Ali is drinking this morning....lots!!!  I think it was because I have
had the windows open the last few days and there are two windows above the
sink where she drinks.  She would jump up there to drink and then would be
stunned when she heard the outside noises.  Silly cat....but it didn't cool off
in the house house until wee hours of the morning.  So this morning I shut all
the windows, turned on the A/C and the air purifier...lots of humidity here,
too.  Ali jumped up in the sink.  I turned on the water a small steady stream
and she drank.....and drank.....and drank....and drank some more.  So she is all
fine.

Larry, I am praying that you get yourself to the doctor today to see what
can be done with your shortness of breath.

Karma, what a wonderful praise!  I knew you guys had lots of rain down there
but didn't realize it was THAT bad.  I am like you....enough is enough...come
on, Ivan...die out in the Gulf!!!

Nards, thanks for the advice but I don't think Ali needs a laxative now.  Just
the litter box for when she needs to get rid of all this water she has now
drank.

Jenny, I have Norton Antivirus and Adaware on my cp with Windows XP.
Jerry talked me into downloading SpyBot and it caused me all kinds of
problems so I got rid of it.  Norton runs every day at 10 a.m.  If my pc
starts running slow, I run Adaware, which is about every other day.  My IPS
checks my emails, coming and going and it stops a lot of problems.  My motto
is if it isn't broke, don't fix it.  Just hope your pc gets better and better.
We tend to rely on our pc's for our social business, don't we?

Kind of cloudy and gloomy here today.  A great day to just do whatever
comes about.  Nothing planned.

Hi everyone.  Like Etta Sue I had prepared the following posting and fortunately saved it.  Glad to see we are back up.

I appreciate the prayers and expressions of concern.  I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon.  I felt pretty rotten yesterday.  We ended up just going to church as I knew the choir was going to be sparse and needed me  and then we  came home as didn't feel up to going out to eat.  I was able to sleep last night and I felt good when I got up but the shortness of breath has returned again this morning and I seem to not have any energy.

Karma, I think you were planning ahead.  Sorry about the loss of your work facility.  I wondered last week if your area wasn't getting flooding as they said there was so much rain up there.  I am very concerned about later this week and the hurricane track is shown as expected to come right up over Atlanta.  Just say the morning news forecast and it is still that way.

Happy Birthday Mike.

Marilyn, it is hard to know why some people are so mean.  It is almost like cutting off their nose to spite their faces.  They are certainly giving no regard to the other peron's feelings.

Etta Sue, glad that Ali is OK.  These cats certainly have a mind of their own.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Al Moak

Larry, I pray our Father will give your doctor great insight and wisdom and that their work will do you much good.  I pray our Father will heal you through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Papa John

Good morning.  At first I couldn’t get in this morning.  I’m glad it is fixed and I hope you are well on this beautiful day.  Well, it is beautiful here.

Larry we are all concerned about your health.  You take care of yourself.

Ruth Ann I’m glad your back is better.

Happy birthday MIKE.

Ivan continues its slow journey into the Caribbean.  I pray for those in its path.  It looks now like it may hit in the panhandle of Florida.

Luke 8:22-24  One day Jesus said to his disciples, "Let's go over to the other side of the lake." So they got into a boat and set out.  As they sailed, he fell asleep. A squall came down on the lake, so that the boat was being swamped, and they were in great danger.  The disciples went and woke him, saying, "Master, Master, we're going to drown!" He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm.  (NIV)

When I turned on my computer, I had some emails about CP being down, so I went to Beth's to do some things for her before trying, now all is well!  ;D ;D  That's a good thing!

The new puppies are one girl and one boy.  One has only a little stub of a tail--never saw that in a chihuahua before. ???  The little mother seems to be doing fine with them now.

Larry, my prayers go with you today, and I echo Al's prayers for your doctor, as well.  And I pray your area is spared any further results from hurricanes this season!  Enough is enough already!

Papa John, I am wondering about Oscar and Lorra Dorr---any news from them?  I haven't had time to go to SrNet for news lately, but thought you would know about them.

Ruth Ann, I hope your back stays better and gets better still.  God bless you, sweet lady!

Etta Sue, glad Ali is back to normal!  I know you were concerned about her not drinking water.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MIKE!!! And many more!

Hi, LIz, what's new on the island today?

Pat, I'm getting excited about next week!  Whoopee!  ;D ;D ;D

Hi, Jenny!  Hope you are scooting around happily today!

Karma, I'm so glad you have the records you need, and hope you don't get further flooding in your area.  (((hugs))) to you, Nards and Trav.

Lots to do, it's nearly noon already!  Have to take both Beth and Jeanie to the doctor today, and Beth again tomorrow. :(
Then on Wed. it is mine and Darrel's turn.  But we are just having our hearing checked.  Have to drive to Dodge City for that.  Busy week around here.

Hi, Soni!  Your day is busy, too!  Good to see you popping in! :D

Check with you all later!  God bless!

Well, thanks for all the happy b'days.  Woke up this morning and had a pleasant surprise, as I got my first over 6 picture at dpchallenge.com

Then on to school for class, walk in and the students all stand up at their chairs until I tell them to sit down.  When I told them to sit down (sadites pajaluista), they refused and said that they were not going to start class today.  Then one of them grabbed his guitar and they all started singing a Russian birthday song.  Was neat, never heard that song before.  They then gave me a card.  Birthday's here are very formal and important days.  So then I surprised them with some goodies that Melanie had baked (cookies and brownies).  Later the faculty also had a little gathering to formally congratulate me.  Melanie had also made a cake and banana bread for that gathering.  You are expected to bring all the food for these gatherings when it is your birthday.  Thank God for my loving wife who stayed up really late last night baking for it all.

Tomorrow we will have all 22 second year students to our house for Chinese Food (Melanie is cooking - Sweet and Sour Chicken, Veal Stir Fry and hopefully Cashew Chicken w/o Cashews).  We'll watch some movie on the video projector, have a good night, and then send them home.

Relaxed this afternoon, and now I have to get a project together for the students to do tomorrow in their seminar class.  Blessings all.
A watched clock never boils.

Pat

So, Mike, did you bring some goodies here for all of us?  Where are they?

I'm so glad that you've been having a great birthday.

Glad to hear from you, Janet!  Yes, I'm getting excited too.

Hello to the rest.  I'm having a very busy day today.  Just dropped in quickly here.  I'll be back a little later.

What A Day That Will Be
(Click to hear music)

Martha answered, "I know he will rise again
in the resurrection at the last day.
John 11:24

Words and Music: Jim Hill

There is coming a day,
When no heart aches shall come,
No more clouds in the sky,
No more tears to dim the eye,
All is peace forever more,
On that happy golden shore,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

What a day that will be,
When my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand,
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

There'll be no sorrow there,
No more burdens to bear,
No more sickness, no pain,
No more parting over there;
And forever I will be,
With the One who died for me,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

What a day that will be,
When my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand,
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be.

Nards, you and I should get together and do a seminar on humilty and perfection!
We could really get up people's noses, lol.
Larry, praying for you bro.
Happy birthday Mike.

Janet

Nards and Chris, I heard the other day about a pastor whose congregation voted him "The most humble pastor in the country."  They had a big gold medallion made and inscribed with that title.  Then, the next week, they took it away from him---because he wore it!  ;D ;D ;D

Mike, your birthday sounds like one you will long remember!  I'm happy for you.

I just got home from taking both my sister and Beth to the chiropractor, and I am in need of some rest.  As soon as I take care of the load of laundry in the dryer, I think I might just go get some!

Victory in Jesus
(Click to hear music)

Words and Music by Eugene. M. Bartlett

I heard an old, old story, How a Saviour came from glory,
How He gave His life on Calvary To save a wretch like me;
I heard about His groaning, Of His precious blood's atoning,
Then I repented of my sins And won the victory.

Chorus:
O victory in Jesus, My Saviour, forever,
He sought me and bought me With His redeeming blood;
He loved me ere I knew Him And all my love is due Him,
He plunged me to victory, Beneath the cleansing flood.

I heard about His healing, Of His cleansing pow'r revealing,
How He made the lame to walk again And caused the blind to see;
And then I cried "Dear Jesus, Come and heal my broken spirit,"
And somehow Jesus came and bro't To me the victory.

Chorus:
O victory in Jesus, My Saviour, forever,
He sought me and bought me With His redeeming blood;
He loved me ere I knew Him And all my love is due Him,
He plunged me to victory, Beneath the cleansing flood.

I heard about a mansion He has built for me in glory,
And I heard about the streets of gold Beyond the crystal sea;
About the angels singing, And the old, redemption story,
And some sweet day I'll sing up there The song of victory.

Chorus:
O victory in Jesus, My Saviour, forever,
He sought me and bought me With His redeeming blood;
He loved me ere I knew Him And all my love is due Him,
He plunged me to victory, Beneath the cleansing flood.

Just got this from our Carol in Colorado!

Just wanted to let you know that I am recuperating from a bike fall yesterday - hobbling around and bruised on entire left side.  I wore my helmet so fine there.  Don is my cook, nurse and big helper.  My fingers work today so that is good.  Trying to keep my left foot up so this is short.

Papa John

Janet, Oscar and Lorra are fine.  I saw a report from them yesterday.  I forget just where they were but I think they had gone inland somewhere.  Anyway they were fine.

WELCOME DORIS MILLER, WELCOME BEN.

We had a nice little shower this afternoon and our rain gauge registered 3/4 of an inch.

Marilyn, I hope Bebe gets some help at the Vet’s

I hope you all have a good night's rest.

Larry Hanna

Just a quick note this evening.  I did see the doctor this afternoon and he did an EKG, chest x-ray and examined me and it appears there is no fluid on my lungs, the EKG is relatively unchanged from the last time, and my blood oxygen level was fine.  Therefore, he doesn't see any indication of congestive heart failure.  That was good news. He really doesns't know why I am experiencing the shortness of breathe, cough and fatigue.  He prescribed a couple of inhalors for me to use for a couple of weeks and had me get a blood test done just as a precaution.  Am glad to say I am feeling better tonight than I have all day so maybe this episode is about over.  I am ready for it to end.  I did discuss the heart transplant matter with him and he feels I should proceed with the process but I certainly haven't made that decision at this point.

Welcome to Ben and Doris.

Marilyn

Bebe has a Cruciate igament Rupture, which is a purtured ligament in the front of her left rear knee joint. According the the literature the vet gave me, only dogs and athletes get this. She may or may not have to have surgery and they don't do that here but send the patient to Redding, 3 hours away. We will wait a few weeks and see if it is going to get better. He gave her Rimadyl and told me to give her human Glucosamine and Chrondroitin with MSM Which I take myself. Xrays alone will cost $230.00 that includes the anesthetic and anesthetic reversal. if they are needed at a later date. Today with her booster shot and toenail clip was 65.00. Oy vey Vets are as expensive as our Doctors are.

Thanks, Papa John, for telling me about Oscar and Lorra.  I'm so glad they are safe!

Larry, I am breathing easier about you, as well.  A heart transplant would be a VERY serious matter to consider.  Much prayer would precede such an operation, for sure!  I will pray for God to heal the heart you already have!

Marilyn, that sounds like enough to bankrupt you, if you have all that done on Bebe.  Goodness!

I'm ready to give it up for the day, still just dragging.

I'm so sorry to hear about Carol's bike accident.  Ouch!  Glad you have a really good nurse/helper/cook at your house.  Hurry and get well!  (((hugs)))

Manana, folks!

Marilyn

Janet Surgery is put of the question, as the Vet told me it is very very expensive, He is going to treat her with medications, he said it could be one of those things that comes and goes. But the Glucosamine, Chrondroitin with MSM will be a big help to her. I love her but I surely cannot afford that great expense. I have one credit card that I use strictly for the dogs, and that is at the max right now, Still paying off Gitchie and Happy now Bebe.
