Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Good morning again.  It's still morning here.....11:04 according to my computer clock. :)

Jenny from England:  I'm asking the Lord to send you that gentle breeze you desire.

Hi Ria, Kathy, Etta Sue, Carol, Marilyn. I enjoyed reading your posts today.

Diana, as others have said, you have a plateful; don't you?
Does your daughter live with you also?  You need lots of prayer, sweetheart.  Caregivers need all the help that is there for them.  I'm glad you found this place.  Come back and get encouragement  and prayer.  You'll find some loving people here.  God bless you, Diana.

Al, it's always so glorious seeing young people come into the Kingdom of God.  A rejocing day indeed.

Pat, we're still enjoying beautiful days here in Oregon.  No drizzly stuff today.  Still.....I won't mind when it comes.  PSP classes start tomorrow, so I'll do that this winter and of course, take pictures wherever I go.  ;D

Janet.  Mexican food must be my favorite.  From reading back posts here, I see I'm not alone. :D     I think what you did for your grandson,Curtis ,was wonderful.  We can be sentimental as we want.  Affirming him will never be remembered as sentimental.  That's another thing I like about being "older".......being mushy, sentimental, and other gramma stuff seems quite ordinary and expected.  But then......I think God is that way about His children, and we know He's NEVER old.  Just Ancient Of Days.  ;D

Chris, I liked what you said about learning from the past.  It's our greatest learning experience.  Your last sentence made me think too.  You said, "And remember that worrying about tomorrow takes all the joy out of today!"
I must comment, from my own experience, that worrying about the past can also take the joy out of today.  You are so right........we live gloriously in the NOW while our history is for training, forming Christ in us,  and our future is firmly in our Father's Hand.

I'm getting ready to wash outside windows that I can reach and vacuum flies out of my inside window sill!  Ugh!  I don't know why the decided to come in, but at least they have short lives.   Better than rats, eh Marilyn?  Maybe Katie Kat takes care of them.

Talk to you later.  Jane.....where are you?

Chris & Margit Saunders

Your so  right Nita,
but He has blotted all of our sins out, cast them into the deepest, part of the sea, and put up a sign, "NO FISHING."
So we must come to Him in repentance, and receive the Blood of Jesus to cover  all those past indulgences, (and we all indulged in sin, because it seemed so enjoyable at the time).
But once the matter is dealt with, then that is it.
forget it all. and go forward, praising and thanking Him for  His Grace, and giving no place to the adversary.

Grace to you and peace, from God the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thanks for posting that, Chris!

I was just coming with a hymn to sing but I'll wait till later.  I just think that the "Old Rugged Cross" is such a meaningful hymn for all of us to sing and take in as we sing those words.

Papa John

Jenny, Janet, Marilyn, Pat, thank you for commenting on the scriptures I refer to.  Whenever I write anything what the Bible says is what is really important.

Pat, thanks for the devotional this morning.  Our hope sustains us in times of trials.  Paul said, "For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us." Rom 8:18  Then he said, "For we are saved by hope." Rom 8:24

Karmat, yes time goes by so fast these days.  This is why it is so urgent that we be about our Father's business.  "See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,  Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.  Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is." Eph 5:15-17

Nita, that's the way it is.  When there is a beautiful scene we get caught without the camera.

Ria, sorry about your son's accident.  I hope he will pass the driver's exam, but if not the first time he can try again.  Also we are thinking about your father.  Hope he does well with his treatments.

Kathy, I posted two church pictures of a church where I preached over 50 years ago.  Maybe I can get a picture soon of our church building where we worship now.

Diana_G., welcome to CP.  Sounds like you keep busy as a care giver.  May God bless you in this good work.

Etta Sue, I hope you had a nice breakfast with Northern Joan.  I always enjoy her posts in Senior Net.

Carol, it is good to see you today.  You are right.  Diana_G. has a heavy load.

Al, it is good to see you today.  The first time I ever baptized anyone it was in the stream in front of the church building.  A dam had been built so the water was deep enough.

Marilyn, when we were in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, I had the privilege of baptizing many people on a beautiful beach in the Coral Sea.

Pat, you are disorganized?  I don't believe it.  You do so many things.  You are one busy lady.

Janet, I hate it when that happens.  I write on Microsoft Works and save it until it is posted.  That way if something happens I can retrieve it.

Mieka, good to see you today.  I hope you aren't too tired after dancing so much.  We all love you too.

Chris, yes the past is important and we do learn from it.  Seems like the older I get the more past there is.

Cami, good to see you today.  Oh, my, I think I am writing too much.

Eph 2:8-9  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast.(NIV)

 ???
Then he said, "For we are saved by hope." Rom 8:24

??? If we are to accept Jesus, and for this we are then saved.

If wish to go to live with Jesus in the Heaven, But today we can not see him,

Is this of hope? or is it of faith?  ???

If one only has a great hope, Is it the same to Jesus?
??? :-\

Kathy

Mieka my Bible says about this passage...We are saved by faith (Eph 2:8), not hope; but hope accompanies salvation.  In the verses before this verse  Paul is telling about our future with Christ as Christians and what we are promised when we are saved and ..."For in this hope we were saved." NIV

At least that is the way I interpret this passage.

Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life.  No man cometh unto the Father but by me.  John 14:6

Sarah

Thanks Everyone For the Birthday wishes!

I lost my last post to the cyberworld.  I have also forgotten what I wrote.   :o

I have finished my tomatoes.  I froze most and made tomato ketsup with 1/2 bushel.  Peppers went into the freezer with onions.  What a job, but we will eat well this year for less.

Meiks There is a verse that goes "By Grace we are saved by faith, and not that of ourselves,  it is the gift of God, not of works leat any man should boast."
I find that to be such a wonderful thing.  There is nothing we can do to acomplish this salvation, except to take that gift as ours.  WOW.  So often in life we feel the need to DO something, yet here there is nothing we can do to be better so our Lord will accept us.  The opposite is true.  Again WOW!

Good to see you Diana, Hello Janet Marilyn, Jenny, Ria, Pat (How is your jaw?), Iain we miss you! Papa John, Larry, and if I have missed anyone I am sorry.

I posted an update in "Have you prayed?" concerning my Dr.'s Appt. Now I am off to bed.  Have a good night all!

Love JudyB

karmat

Hello all.  Just popped in to say hi.

HI

Now I must say good night

GOOD NIGHT

I hope everyone has a good Tuesday!

Elizabeth

Thanks for the devotional Pat.  You are one busy lady!

Welcome Diana. I agree with the others, you do look young.  May God Bless and help you with your many  responsibilities.

Church was  great yesterday and filled in both the service and Sunday School.  We have an adult S.S. and it is a real blessing.

The weather has suddenly turned cool and autumn is certainly near.  I cleaned my balcony and put away the summer furniture as I am near the ocean and it becomes too cold for sitting outside....Some showers and more forcast.  Seems we are saying goodbye to another summer.  Doubly sad as it will be the last one for Al.

Thanks for the hymn Chris & Margit.  I agree with what you have to say about the past.

Mieka, you seem to be having fun these days.  Love your dancing...

Surely don't like rats.  We can't feed the birds outside our Condo's as it attracts rats.  They can even climb up the side of the building.  Being near the ocean it is necessary to take precautions.  They are so ugly!!!

Vancouver is now providing safe sites for addicts to shoot their drug of choice.  Seems the city wants to be more like Europe....Will there ever be an end to all this madness?

Hope you all have a pleasant evening.  God Bless, Liz.

Pat
