Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Morning Devotional...

RESERVED---FOR ME

One day, when we were traveling, we came to the motel where we planned to spend the night.  As we drove up, the "No Vacancy" sign was lit up, indicating the motel was full.  Going inside the office, I found that there were others there seeking rooms, but the desk clerk was saying, "I'm sorry, but all our rooms are taken, and I cannot accomodate you.  You will have to look elsewhere."  When they had left, I said to the desk clerk, "My name is Janet Damon, and I have a reservation."  "Yes, Mrs. Damon, we have been expecting you, and your room is ready and waiting."  The difference was that I had called ahead and made a reservation, and they were expecting me.

Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people.  Jesus said, "I go to prepare a place for you."  For those who have received Jesus Christ as their personal Savior there will never be a "No Vacancy" sign when we arrive, but rather a waiting Savior to welcome us to our heavenly home.

The song writer has written, "A tent or a cottage, why should I care?  They're building a PALACE for me over there."  Whether or not it is a palace or a mansion in the sense that we think of it really makes no difference.  The joy and blessing is ours just to know that we will be with Him in a place that He has prepared for us.

WHEN WE ALL GET TO HEAVEN
(Click to hear music)

In my Father's house are many mansions;
I am going there to prepare a place for you.
John 14:2

Words:  Eliza E. Hewitt (1851-1920)
Music: Emily D. Wilson (MIDI, score).

Sing the wondrous love of Jesus,
Sing His mercy and His grace.
In the mansions bright and blessed
He'll prepare for us a place.

Refrain
When we all get to Heaven,
What a day of rejoicing that will be!
When we all see Jesus,
We'll sing and shout the victory!

While we walk the pilgrim pathway,
Clouds will overspread the sky;
But when traveling days are over,
Not a shadow, not a sigh.

Refrain

Let us then be true and faithful,
Trusting, serving every day;
Just one glimpse of Him in glory
Will the toils of life repay.

Refrain

Onward to the prize before us!
Soon His beauty we'll behold;
Soon the pearly gates will open;
We shall tread the streets of gold.

Refrain

I am really enjoying being pain free on all natural and organic ingredients..

I am tired tonight the day has been stressful emotionally with my client being so disoriented and having panic attacks at all hours. At least she didn't call me last night but she sure did disturb her son.

Oh how stressful this must be for both of them Pat ... I'll add Norm to my prayers.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Janet:  Thanks for posting the uplifting song this morning.

So sorry to hear about Judy and Norm going through this trial right now.

Janet

Oh, my!  I'm so sorry to hear that Norm is also in the hospital, and sad that it couldn't at least be the same one where Judy is.  I will hold them both in prayer.

Tonight is Ulysses' big Home Products Dinner.  This dinner has been held every year for 44 years now, and everything served is grown/produced in Grant County; with the exception of the salt, pepper, coffee and tea.  I will be taking Beth and my sister.

See you later!

It is so sad to hear that now Norm is in the hospital too. Pat will you be visiting both of them? If you are tell them that they are in my prayers.

I will be back in a little bit.

JANET:  Thanks for the devotional today.....What a great analogy of a reservation....

There is a somebody

Pat

I will try to visit them both but the distance is great to do both in one day.

I also have a meeting tonight to attend.

How are you all?

I'm about ready to have my second cup of coffee.  I've been watching some insects drinking the morning dew from dried up flowers and was wishing I could capture them on my camera but my coffee was too good!  LOL  I sat and watched instead.

What a great devotion and analogy.  And that is another of my favorite verses..."Do not let your hearts be troubled.  Trust in God; trust also in me.  In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so I would have told you.  I am going to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you with me that you may be with me where I am.  You know the way to the place I am going."  John 14:1-4 NIV

So sad to hear that Norm is in the hospital also.  Didn't this happen before?...Both in the hospital at once?  Pat, when you see them, do give them my love and assure them that many prayers are being sent heavenward on their behalf.

Janet ~ I remember you going to the Home Products Dinner.  What a wonderful way to show people what all their county/neighbors does do.

Marilyn ~ So happy that you slept good last night and that you are pain free.  That is a blessing.

Jane, Carol and Ed ~ Good morning!!!

I am all ready for the group of ladies.  Oops!  Forgot to get the cards out!!!  Can't play Euchere without cards.  Got them out while I was thinking about it.

Fall is in the air.  I even turned off the A/C last night since it really cooled off here.  It's only 55° and only suppose to get to 59° today!  That's good.  Grass doesn't grow as fast in the cold.... ^-^   ;)

Etta Sue, I wondered if anyone would remember about the Home Products Dinner.  I was away last year, so didn't get to attend.  It's a gigantic community effort; every club and orgainzation takes part, picking corn, shucking corn, cutting it off the cob, picking strawberries, making jam,.....well, you get the picture.  Many people from across Kansas come, and some from neighboring states as well.  We are going out early to try to get a good seat to see and hear the program.  They have a hypnotist as entertainment tonight, don't know how that will be.

Thanks for the comments on the devotional.  I appreciate those!

Gotta run!  Going to the Care Home to have lunch with Beth.

Nice devotional, Janet.  I am sitting here bouncing to the music.  Misty came in out of the rain and is giving me strange looks...... ::)

I am so sorry to hear about Judy & Norm and have & will pray for them.  Golly, growing old is a scary process....!

Wish we had things like the Home Products Dinner.  The valley would be an ideal spot as it has many little farms.  Guess Canadians are not that energetic!

Read something interesting in the news this morning.  I usually don't bother with the computer this early.  Waiting to go for a hair appt. so filling in time.  Anyway, it seems the Fox Network has formed something called 'Fox Faith' and is going to produce Christian movies :o  First one is going to be Janette Oke's 'Love's Abiding Joy'.  What do you all make of this surprising development?

Rain is probably going to be around for some time now.  Here is a silly little poem that a friend sent me:

Oh where do you come from
You little drops of rain,
Pitter patter, pitter patter
Down the window pane.
They won't let me walk
And they won't let me play
And they won't let me go
Out of doors at all to day.
Rain on the green grass
And rain on the tree
And rain on the housetop
But not on me !

            :)

Pleasant Day/Evening all and God Bless.

Liz

CHANGE NOT THY FAITH WITH CHANGING TIMES

Janet

What a cute poem, Liz--I love it!

Glad you enjoyed the music!  I do, too.

Fox Faith, huh?  Sounds great!!  I watch Fox News but hadn't caught that as yet.  Feature Films for Families have released several new movies to theaters lately.

I got ready to send my grandson's birthday card, then realized--I don't have their address!!  :o  They moved recently, and haven't updated Grandma as yet.  I will email Justin and ask him, I'm sure he will get on the ball quickly because he wants his gift!!  ;)

Time to get dressed for the dinner.  I wish you all a pleasant evening.  It is rather cool here, mid 60s I think.  Very nice!

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  I did get my Internet and voip telephone back yesterday aftenroon.  When I got home from the library I called for the 4th time and got someone who knew what they were doing.  Within 20 minutes it was working again and they even called to tell me.  Since we are traveling on Saturday and will be away for about 10 days I am not going to do anything to change my ISP or cable service but will revisit the situation when we get back.

Yesterday evening the phone rang and it was our daughter from the ER in a downtown Atlanta hospital saying she had suffered more chest pain and they were taking her in for another heart cath.  She had a heart attack about 4 weeks ago and they put in a stent then.  We left immediately to go to the hospital and when we got there the cath was over and we were able to speak to the doctor.  We were most relieved to hear that all was ok with her heart.  She is still in pain but it must relate to a muscle pull or gerd.  She was dismissed from the hospital today and we took her back to her apartment.

Today our son moved to South Carolina and he just now called saying they had finished uploading the moving truck and they all were exhausted.  Glad the move is behind them.

Sure sorry to hear that Norm is in the hospital and separated from Judy.  That must be so difficult for them both.  Maybe Norm's stay will not be a long one.

Marilyn, you certainly had a busy day.  Hope your home business does well.

Janet, I remember you discussing the special affair in your county before.  It sounds like a huge undertaking.

Etta Sue, hope your ladies meeting has gone well.  It sounds like you all will eat very well.

Janet, what a nice devotional today and such a good visual example of the point of the devotional.

Till later.

Ruth

Janet: I enjoyed your devotional today.

So sorry to read that both Judy & Norm are in different hospitals.

Larry: I am glad that your daughter will be OK
It must make you a little sad to have your son a distance away.

Etta Sue:  You are not the only one that feels a little on the cool side, I to have turned the A/C off.

Marilyn: I hope your home business goes well.

I was able to do a load of laundry and put it out to dry and also I put part of the load in the dryer my sweaters are better in the dryer than put on the line no creases this way.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Proverbs 3:6
