JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Morning Devotional...

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son; that ye may know that ye have eternal life.
1 John 5:13

Countless multitudes will rise this morning and retire tonight hoping that sometime, in some way, they will have that elusive assurance of eternal life when this life is done.

Many will base their hopes on doing good works, praying, church activities, baptism, charitable giving, and a sacrificial lifestyle.

Believers in Christ, however, can say with confidence, "I know."

Why?

Because God's Word tells us if we put our trust in Christ alone we have eternal life. Far better to know than to hope.

Believe and know today.
                                                                        --R. Steele

I know the Son of God for me the Cross endured;
I know He suffered in my stead
And, by the precious blood He shed, my peace secured.

--J. S. Tait

9.30 a.m.

Good morning Pat.

Ria... Hello vanochtend.

Pat I love the devotional  "I can say with confidence I know"....Thank-you Jesus for "going away" so that Holy Spirit could come and speak to our hearts Your Truth, the Truth that makes us free".

A lovely sunny Autumn morning here in leafy Warwickshire. A foretend of good things to come.

I have a bit of washing to do and then I must pop to the park later to see Sidney my 91 year old friend.  I haven't been over lately and he says he misses me and  wonders if I am O.K. when I don't turn up. Also I am very fond of him.  He is a real "gentleman".  My "young men" might be around too for me to plant a few "seeds ...Yes Janet?

I won't post now until Monday so send my love and prayerful best wishes for a Peace-filled Sabbath and a happy day today for all.

BE FILLED WITH JOY.

Jenny.

Ruth Ann Bice

Good morning from Nashville. It's a beautiful day here and I'll be out and about a good bit. I just wanted to check in, to say thanks for your presence in this place. Sometimes, as I come to this site, I feel as if I'm entering a beautiful church where I'll meet and greet friends and neighbors, and our Master Himself.

Y'all have a good day.

Ruth Ann

Good morning Jenny and Ria!  It seems our other friends are sleeping in a bit, or are busy this morning.

I had a phone call from my sister this morning.  Her grandson, the same age as my Curtis, is a freshman at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, and he called her while we were talking, to report to her on the hurricane damage there.  I guess it's a real mess, but they are all safe, which is by far the most important part!

I posted photos yesterday, in case any of you are interested in seeing them.

I do not know what is in store today.  It is rather nice to have a "hang loose" day for a change!

Hi,Ruth Ann!  You came in while I was posting.  Don't rush around too much today; I don't want you to tire yourself out!

WHAT WOULD YOU DIE FOR?

Do you know what you would die for? An ancient story tells of two
great warriors, Cyrus and Cagular. Cyrus, of course, was the  noted
emperor of Persia and Cagular was a little-known chieftain who
consistently repelled Cyrus' attacks.

Cagular's troops tore the Persian army apart time and time again as
they resisted Cyrus' attempts to expand his southern border. Finally,
Cyrus amassed his whole army, surrounded Cagular, captured him, and
brought him to the capitol for trial and execution.

On the day of the trial, Cagular and his family were brought to the
judgment chamber. The chieftain, six feet tall with the appearance of
a nobleman, faced the throne. Cyrus was duly impressed with Cagular.

"What would you do should I spare your life?" the emperor asked.

Your majesty," replied the warrior, "If you spared my life, I would
return home and remain your obedient servant as long as I live."

What would you do if I spared the life of your wife?" Cyrus
questioned.

"Your majesty, if you spared the life of my wife, I would
die for you."

So moved was Cyrus by his answer that he freed Cagular and his wife
and appointed the chieftain to govern the southern province.

On the trip home, Cagular enthused to his wife, "Did you notice the
marble entrance to the palace? Did you see the corridor to the throne
room? Did you see the chair on which he sat? It was made of one lump
of solid gold!"

His wife appreciated her husband's excitement, but
admitted, "I really didn't notice any of that."

"Well," Cagular asked in amazement, "What did you see?"

She looked seriously into his eyes. "I beheld only the face of the
man who said he would die for me."

Do you know what you would die for? Loved ones? Home? Country? Faith?
Liberty? Love? Determine what you will die for, and you will have
identified what you should live for.

Live for the few things you'd die for and you will be fully alive! You
will also have learned something about how to be happy.

Good morning.  Good to see you this morning, Ruth Ann.  It IS a beautiful Saturday morning here in Nashville.  I think later today we are going over to the Soccer field and see our grandson,
David, play.  Things you have to do as a grandfather.

Pat, I have always liked the wonderful statement of John in I John 5:13 "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."

It reminds me of a similar statement which indicates the importance of the written word to produce faith in us.

John 20:27-31  Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.  And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.  Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.  And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

--- Papa John    ;D          <:))))><<

Eph 2:8-9  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast.(NIV)

Good Morning Pat I see you online. Thank you for the hard work you do on CP every single day. The Devotionals and the Songs. Most of all I am thankful for the prayers of all the saints here on CP.  I love this wonderful group of prayer warriors who know how to take all our needs to tthe throne of grace as we post the requests.

I do not have to "SEE" in order to believe. I have that Blesses Assurance of someday being with our Lord in Heavenly places.

It is very foggy here this morning. My Landlord have passed by and put up the electric fence so his horses can come out and graze on the front side of my house. He has 2 here on this property. When he goes away Gilbert and Sarah feed them.

Yesterday I took a couple of photos of the Raccons as the were eating on the porch of where I work in Trinidad. They are so cute.

I doubt I will be going anyplace today, as Janet said it is going to be a Kick back day. Nothing on the agenda.

My friend Kitty called the other night to ask prayer for her 34 year old son Paul whose seizures have become very violent and her youngest son Johnny who has a collasped lung. I have emailed the Pastors wife down south and asked her to give Kitty a call. So please remember Kitty, Paul adn Johnny in your prayers today.

Sonja it is so good to see your pretty face back here. I do hope you will be posting lots of photos. Did you notice that I finally got my digital camera? Haveen't posted any photos yet. I will be taking my computer in to have the USB port installed this coming week.

This is getting long I'd better post it before I lose it to the cyber elves.

Sonja: It is a Kodak DX 4330 EasyShare , I didn't get the camera dock that goes with i, that will have to come later as I can afford to  get it. I ordered it from TigerDirect.com It was what the call an "out of the box recertification" Someone else had purchased it and didn't want it so they sent it back and that is why they call it recertified. I got a discount on it. it cost me $209. before shipping.I read all the reviews on it that I could find before I bought it. It was 4 1/2 stars out of 5 with excellent reviews.

Thanks for the link Sonja, Now I REALLY can't wait to get that USB port installed so I can unload my camera. I am experimenting with the different settings, and views. I like the way I can zoom in 10X while looking into the liveview on the back of the camera. I am going to have a blast with this camera.

Good Morning Everyone...

It's a busy day for me here in Guelph...lots of running around (not in circles with my feet but in the car! ;D )

It's nice to come here and read all of the messages.

We've opened a new section on our forum boards!

It's called "Digital Art" so if you manipulate your photos or even make graphics in a course something like a Paint Shop Pro course and would like our opinion on it or even if you'd just like to show us what you've been doing in Paint Shop Pro or Adobe Photoshop, drop in and show us!

Isn't it wonderful to have our Sonja back with us so much again?  Sonja, you have no idea how much we all missed you over the summer but we understand that it was a time that you were building family memories with your lovely family.  We are looking forward now to enjoy seeing lots of photos that you took during that time.

I'm so happy that the devotion spoke to your heart today, Sonja!  It made me do a lot of thinking for sure.

QuoteWHAT WOULD YOU DIE FOR?

Janet, thanks so much for bringing that in here.  It sure makes you think doesn't it?

Yes, Janet, kind of nice to have a "do nothing" kind of day!  How a long for a day like that!  It does seem that I am kind of busy, doesn't it?

Hi Ria!  I'm happy that you are having some nice weather now in Holland.  It's a lovely day here in Guelph!  Doesn't seem as if it was only a day or two ago that we were all concerned about a hurricane.  It was predicted that we'd have one that was worse than Hurricane Hazel back in 1954 but this one fizzled out for us before it arrived.  In Hazel, in the Greater Toronto area alone, 81 persons lost their lives.  It's sad though to read of the destruction down in the United States.  I've read that 23 so far have been counted as losing their lives in Hurricane Isobel.

You know, Ria, your English is getting so much better!  I'm so happy that Judy told you about Christian Photographers!

Good Morning Jenny!  Nice to see you popping in as well.  We'll miss you tomorrow.  Saturdays and Sundays seem to be "low post days" on CP!  But enjoy your weekend.

Hi Ruth Ann...  It IS a nice feeling isn't it to come and read the posts in here?  I can hardly wait though till you get that computer fixed so that you can join us over in the Photography area.  There are so many wonderful photos being displayed.  We have some fantastic photographers on this site!

QuotePat, I have always liked the wonderful statement of John in I John 5:13 "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."

Papa John, that has always been one of my favorite verses.  "that you may KNOW"  That's such a wonderful thing to KNOW, isn't it?  Thanks for your added thoughts in here today too, Papa John.  I appreciate them so much and they always give me something to meditate on.

Awwww...  Marilyn, you are so kind.  I'm so happy that you enjoy CP so much!  That makes me know that it's worth it!  I also find it such a lovely thought to know that there are people scattered all over the globe who are praying for me!  Isn't that just a great thing?

Yes, as Sonja has said, Marilyn, we're waiting anxiously to see the photos from that new camera!   We'll be praying for Paul, Marilyn.  Keep us posted!

Ria, did you take photos on your walk?  Sounds like a lovely place to go.

This is an incredible story!

In the 1930s, Stalin ordered a purge of all Bibles and all believers in
the former Soviet Union. Millions of Bibles were confiscated and
multitudes of believers were sent to the gulags (prison camps), where
most died for being "enemies of the state." In Stavropol, Russia, this
order was carried out with a vengeance.

Recently, the CoMission ministry, which Campus Crusade for Christ
sponsored, sent a team to Stavropol. The city's history was not known at
that time. But when our team was having difficulties getting Bibles
shipped from Moscow, someone mentioned the existence of a warehouse
outside of town where these confiscated Bibles had been stored ever
since Stalin's day.

After much prayer by the team, one member finally got up the courage to
go to the warehouse and ask the officials if the Bibles were still
there. Sure enough, they were. Then the CoMission asked if the Bibles
could be removed and distributed again to the people of Stavropol. The
answer was "yes"!

The next day the CoMission team returned with a truck and several
Russian people to help load the Bibles. One helper was a young man, who
was a skeptical, hostile, and agnostic collegian who had come only for
the day's wages.

As they were loading the Bibles, one team member noticed that the young
man had disappeared. Eventually, they found him in a corner of the
warehouse weeping.

He had slipped away hoping to quietly take a Bible. What he found shook
him to the core. The inside page of the Bible he picked up had the
handwritten signature of his own grandmother!  It had been her Bible!
Out of the many thousands of Bibles still left in that warehouse, he
stole the one belonging to his grandmother -- a woman persecuted for her
faith all her life.

No wonder he was weeping -- God had just dramatically revealed Himself
to this young man. His grandmother had no doubt prayed for him and for
her city.  Her prayers had followed him, and now this young man's life
has been transformed by the very Bible that his grandmother found so
dear.

"O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How
unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! (Romans
11:33).

Yours for fulfilling the Great Commission
each year until our Lord returns,

Bill Bright

Let's all sing this morning...

Are You Washed in the Blood?
(Click to hear music)

Elisha A. Hoffman, 1839-1929

Revelation 7:14
And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest.
And he said to me, These are they
which came out of great tribulation,
and have washed their robes, and made them
white in the blood of the Lamb.

Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Are you fully trusting in His grace this hour?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Chorus:
Are you washed in the blood,
In the soul cleansing blood of the Lamb?
Are your garments spotless? Are they white as snow?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Are you walking daily by the Savior's side?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Do you rest each moment in the Crucified?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Chorus

When the Bridegroom cometh will your robes be white?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Will your soul be ready for the mansions bright,
And be washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Chorus

Lay aside the garments that are stained with sin,
And be washed in the blood of the Lamb;
There's a fountain flowing for the soul unclean,
O be washed in the blood of the Lamb!

Chorus

Well,
we drove to Fleetwood and back, an hour either way, we asked the Lord's blessing on us as always before we set off, and asked for maybe some sunny spells when we got there, and we said, that even if it rained all day, we would praise Him still, well,  it rained all the way there and all the way back hahaaaa and we praised all day long, and listened to a great tape in the car,  by Luis Palau, about presenting your bodies to God as a living sacrifice, it was really good, I wish you could all hear it, it was really encouraging, we had a good meal in an Italian restaurant, and boy, is it good to come home again! :-)
Ps. it's still raining!

Pat

Did you see any ships sailing for the Isle of Man, Chris?  Was the sea rough?

The fog is lifting but the sun has not come out yet. If my laundry every gets finished I think I will drive into Arcata and check out the fair on the Plaza and maybe take a few photos. Who knows maybe the sun is shining in Arcata and not in Mckville, that happens a lot around here you drive 2-3 miles and you are out of the fog or into the fog, however you look at it.

See y-all later.

Good morning all.  Busy morning....uh, day!

Pat ~ To answer your question...yes, I did the welcome animation on PSP7.  Tried doing it with PSP8 but decided it was faster with PSP7.  Glad you like it.  I really like Jeanne and you graphics, too!  I don't know how to do them!!!

Karma ~ Mouse in your jeep?  Yikes!!!!!!  When I lived in the mobile home park, the managers sprayed a mobile home across from me for roaches.  I had never seen one inside my mobile home in 30 years living in that park...in two different mobile homes.  I had seen two the night before.  Sprayed everything.  But that day I had a DDS appointment.  While driving about 15 blocks, a roach was inside my car by the driver's window.  Well, I was afraid to hit it...squish!  Didn't want that so I drove like a mailman to the DDS and back.  THEN I sprayed my car.  Also, told the manager and HE sprayed outside around my mobile home to prevent them coming to see me.  No more roaches.

And for the devotional today......I KNOW I WILL HAVE ETERNAL LIFE IN HEAVEN!!!

What great stories today.  Thank you, one and all!

I have a load of clothes on the line.  I vacuumed all the floors.  My son came and fixed a tire on his lawn mower that I am using.  Then we talked GPS.  He would like to purchase one like mine to take with him to Smokey Mountain National Park in October and to visit their daughter who is moving to Conneticut this weekend.  He's a gadget person like me.  He will get one.  After cleaning up, I took Jerry back to his place.  He is online right now so I know he is okay!!!
