Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Morning Devotional...

Jesus is the Good Shepherd
John 10:1-18  NLT

"I assure you, anyone who sneaks over the wall of a sheepfold, rather than going through the gate, must surely be a thief and a robber! For a shepherd enters through the gate. The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep hear his voice and come to him. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they recognize his voice. They won't follow a stranger; they will run from him because they don't recognize his voice."

Those who heard Jesus use this illustration didn't understand what he meant, so he explained it to them. "I assure you, I am the gate for the sheep," he said. "All others who came before me were thieves and robbers. But the true sheep did not listen to them. Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. Wherever they go, they will find green pastures. The thief's purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give life in all its fullness.

"I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. A hired hand will run when he sees a wolf coming. He will leave the sheep because they aren't his and he isn't their shepherd. And so the wolf attacks them and scatters the flock. The hired hand runs away because he is merely hired and has no real concern for the sheep.

"I am the good shepherd; I know my own sheep, and they know me, just as my Father knows me and I know the Father. And I lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep, too, that are not in this sheepfold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice; and there will be one flock with one shepherd.

"The Father loves me because I lay down my life that I may have it back again. No one can take my life from me. I lay down my life voluntarily. For I have the right to lay it down when I want to and also the power to take it again. For my Father has given me this command."

How have you experienced God's guidance in your life?

In the sheepfold the shepherd functioned as a door, letting the sheep in and protecting them.  Jesus is the door to God's Salvation for us.  He is our protector and offers us safety and security.  Some people resent that Jesus is the door, the only way to God.  But Jesus is God's Son.  Why should we seek any other way or want to customize a different approach to God?

Janet ~ Can you view Power Point Slide Shows on your pc?  I got a beautiful Power Point Slide Show on China today.  If you can view them, let me know and I will email it to you.  If anyone else wants to see it, let me know.  I LOVE Power Point Slide Shows!!  I have a lot of them.

I haven't tried microwaving the brownies yet.  All they are is a box mix...just the dry mixture and you mix in a can of cherry pie filling.  Bake it the temp on the box for as long as on the box and then add about 15 minutes.  I did and it didn't work out.  Nancy, the one I took to I.U. said I was the only one that ever made them that said they didn't turn out right.  But if anyone has ever eaten Persimmon Pudding....that's the texture my brownies are.  They don't taste bad but they aren't even chewy like brownies sometimes are.  I will let you know what microwaving them does.

The trip to I.U. was great.  A beautiful sunset on the way back.  Bright sunset!

Thanks for the morning devotional, Etta Sue.

Microwaving brownies sure sounds good.  Hope you share.

Hi everyone.  I wanted to get here early today as have a lot of little chores to do as we prepare for our travel.  I will also go to the church to sing and play the piano for the adult day-care center.

Etta Sue, thanks for the devotional today.  Like Pat I think those brownies sound delicious although I also would want them to be fully cooked.  Maybe your oven temperature is off.

Ruth, we have never been fortunate enough to find anything at an auction that matches what we have.  Where I grew up in the midwest, people always had auctions to settle estates or if they were moving to another State.  My folks had one when they left the farm.  Here in the south we don't seem to have many auctions, at least here around the Atlanta area.  There are a few auction houses where you can take things to be auctioned.

Gord, good to see you posting again.  So sorry to hear of the severe pain that your wife continues to have and your hospitalization.  The trip sounds wonderful.  My wife and I have never taken a cruise.  We had planned to do so for our 25th wedding anniversary but I ended up with heart bypass surgery and was recovering on the anniversary.  Sorry about your job but sure another will come along if it is met for you to leave "retirement".

Janet, it sounds like you worked too hard today.  Etta Sue asked if you had PowerPoint on your computer.  If you do not e-mail me and I will send you a link where you can download a great little free pwerpoint reader that loads very quickly and it is free.  The viewer from Adobe is also free but it is a more complex program and while I have both on my computer I prefer to use the simplier program.  The family reunion website and printing out the pages for a book has been something I have really enjoyed.  It has taken quite a bit of time but has been worth it.

Till tomorrow.  May we be grateful for all the blessing God is sending our way today.

Good Morning Larry I pray you will have a safe trip an relax and enjoy yourselves. You need this time away from home to get a new perspective on life away from  the stress.

Etta Sue what a cute graphic, and I would love to see the Power Point presentation of China, you can end me all the PP shows you want to as I save them and send them on to friends.

Janet would you like to come to organize my place? I could sure use some more organization skills instead of just packing things up and hanging on to stuff I don't need or won't use. I do pack things up and take them to the Mission or to the Thrift stores, it seems like I never downsize quite enough.

Pat, How are Judy and Norm doing?

Ruth I like you new profile photo and your new hair do.

As for my day I am  going to Jan's  then at 6 I have been invited to another Mary Kay facial so my friend can practice her skills. We have three that I know of at our church who are selling Mary Kay. Six that are doing the same product that I am, however we are all helping each other so that we all benefit in the business.

Marilyn, the Power Point Slide show on China is in your mailbox.

Liz, the Power Point Slide show on China is in your mailbox, too!   ;)

It seems nice not to have anything to do today but routine things.  I went to the bank.  Then to Dollar General and then to Subway.  My lunch is ready!

I am doing a couple loads of laundry and then going to try to catch up on TV shows.

Mighty cool here in Indiana today even though it is bright and sunny.  Jacket weather.  I have the solar heat going to warm up the house.

Sarah

Janet

Yes, Etta Sue, I would LOVE to have the China slide show!  I will let you know what parts we saw recently while there.  Would you like my trip story?  I can email it to you, if you want to read it.

Larry, thanks so much for the power point link.  I appreciate it a lot.

I worked hard again today and have a meeting to go to tonight.  Plus, the group going to Women of Faith in Denver (which includes me) is leaving in the morning at 7:30, and I am not packed yet!!  They hire a big bus and driver, which makes it really nice.  There are 44 of us going, last count I heard.

Someone backed out this afternoon, so they told me to ask my friend Pat if she would like to go, since everything was already paid except meals, and she is going!  I'm happy about that!.

Marilyn, yes, I will come and organize you, as soon as I get me organized!  I don't think that will be anytime soon!  :-\

I'd better get packing!!

Well I don't want either of you coming here and organizing me!  I had a boss a few years ago, had a sign on his desk, said, "Please no straighten up da mess on this desk.  It ruin me system!"  I subscribe to that.

Ruth

Not really much to say but it is really cold here as well and at present I do not want to turn on the furnace. Stubborn I guess.

Etta Sue:  I have copied and pasted your animation to an e-mail that I will send.

Larry:  If you would send be the contact for your family tree I would love to read it. Mel's side of the family has one also a book which I have enjoyed very much.

Sue

A busy few days.  I am looking forward to a quiet (I hope) weekend.

I went to the store this evening to fulfill my duties there and was greeted with a surprise.  I had asked the cash supervisor last week to schedule me a shift a week on cash if it were possible as my hours in this other position in the store are dwindling.  I looked at the schedule when I got in and couldn't find my name on the list where it USED to be.  Not only do I have a shift...but I have a supervisor shift.  Wow!  I have had some training for that position but not since some of the new system changes came into effect so panicked briefly.  I then realized that I won't be alone as my supervisor is also closing that night.  Now I am pleasantly pleased at the change.

I must get going as I have a couple of items to research on line before going to bed.

Pat

Since we only had 10 posts during the day, I'm adding 22nd to Etta Sue's post above.

I'm ready to head out the door to the Women of Faith meeting in Denver.  See you sometime Sunday, probably, as we will get home late Saturday night.

I wish everyone a very pleasant weekend!

For those of you who would like to have a Power Point viewer, it is free here

Good morning.  A quiet day yesterday.  Brownies microwaved still doesn't get it...still have an hour of TV to go...yard didn't get mowed...cool all day long.  I did download Weather Bug that didn't work with my Earthlink sites but works perfectly now that I don't use any of Earthlinks sites for email, firewalls, anti-virus or IE.  Nice to look in my taskbar and see the temp!

Today, it is raining...no mowing today...quite cool...56°...so looks like a great day to loll around...read...watch TV...play on the computer...take a nap!

Marilyn

Good Morning, I was so busy  after I got home yesterday. I had to make labels and label all my literature, make a couple of phone calls, create some business cards that I am quite pleased with thanks to PSP, put new ink in one of my printers then go to  my friend's Mary Kay facial. Got back home at 8:30 and took it all off and put it all back on this morning (the Mary Kay). I am very pleased with my new look.

This morning I go to clean B's home then on to Ruth's for an hour or so to get my paycheck then on to the bank. I am so thankful that I will have the next two days off to get something done around here. The dogs missed their walks yesterday because I was so busy. :'(

So I think  will sit back and relax for a bit before I go to work stopping first at the recycler to drop off all my cans, cardboard and paper,

Love your graphics, Etta Sue.  Thanks for the lovely China trip!  Also thanks to Larry.

In a hurry and have to go for my walk before the weather changes again.  That happened yest.  It is rather chilly, but nice and clear and dry.

Amanda had to stay for a late class last night, so Wendy & I drove to Victoria and sat in the mall until 9 P.M.  Kind of spooky, not many folks around at that time of night!!!  She has her car, but still only a learners permit.  Has not had the time to get in much driving.  Hope that changes soon!  Goes with her girlfriend to class and they are going to share the driving.

Well done Sue!  I used to supervise large computer accounting depts. and it can be a slippery slope...... ::)

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless,

Liz

Been a long dreary day here in Indiana.  I need to go out to get the mail and paper but not looking forward to it.  Damp and cold.

Glad you liked China, Liz.  Marilyn and Janet, you should have yours in your email.

Sarah, pizza sounds soooooo good right now!!!!

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  It has been a really busy day today as we were away from home from about 10 am to 4 pm.  Trying to get things ready here for our trip tomorrow.  I brought the cat carrier in so I can take him to have him boarded while we are away.  We went a few days ago and looked at where they keep them and was well pleased with the situation.  Of course, he will be mad at us when we get back but will get over it.

Our son and his wife had sad news yesterday when they found that the same of their property had fallen through.  They are really down and are seeking an agent to list it now that they are not here to show it.  They completed their move to North Augusta, South Carolina earlier this week.  I reminded them that they still have a very valuable property in an extremely good location but the let down is huge and disappointment is normal.

Ruth, the family reunion information I printed out is the website I created it.  It is behind a password but if you would like to see it I will e-mail you the information you will need to see it.  I have not worked on geneology for our family.

I may not be posting for a few days so don't want anyone to worry about me.  I am not taking my laptop as don't want to have to deal with the laptop on the planes and it is rather heavy.  Till next time.

Marilyn

Etta Se I do not have the China Power Point presentation in my mailbox.? please resend it.

Marilyn, I have sent it twice.  Did you check all your mailboxes?

I have been sending them to the email address you have in your profile.  It is a big file...over 4mb.  I will send it again...

Pat

Oh, I hope Larry has a lovely time away.  It's so good that he and Pat are flying and don't have the concern of driving a car so far.

How are the rest of you?

It's been raining here in Guelph.

Judy is probably being transferried to Guelph this evening from Hamilton into the same hospital where Norm is so that will be good for them both.

Marilyn, yes, I am using that email address.  I am thinking your email isn't allowing a 4.15mb email to come through and I don't know how to make it smaller.  I sent it three times to you.

A rainy dreary day here today.  Ivalou and I went for Chinese and Judy and I are going to a Wesleyan Church tonight for Chicken and Noodles.  Putting on the feed bag today!!

Hey Nita i did get to go to the grand kids Soccer games today. Gilbert called me at the last minute and I had ½ hour to get there. I have posted some  photos that I took in the gallery.

Etta Sue I don't know why I wouldn't get the file I have a cable connection  and I have received bigger files than that. If you didn't get notification that the file was ejected then it must be out there in cyberspace someplace and may  yet get here.

Well I am finally done with most of what I had to do today. Got the  mowing done and the water is going now. I still have to shower and washer my hair but will do that later.

Marilyn ~ Glad you got the PPS China Show finally.  I sent it to Liz!!  Don't know why you didn't get it from me because I sent it twice as a reply to an email you sent to me so I know the address is correct.  Besides you get emails from me when I put your email address on the email from my address book, don't you?  Now.....was it worth the wait?

I am pleasantly stuffed from eating out twice today.  It was enjoyable spending time with my sister and Judy.  God is good.

Ali is sitting on my desk looking at me eyeball to eyeball waiting for her one treat...that's all she gets since having her UTI.  When the treats are gone...that's it!

Carol

Janet:  You were so close - we were in the mountains at a resort for a meeting.  Home now.  It is nice that you have friends to go with on your trips for Women of Faith.

I have missed reading devotions for two days.  Will check it out now.  Carol
