JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Philippians 4:13

Lord Byron and Sir Walter Scott had two things in common. They were both writers and they were both lame, but there the similarity ends.

Byron brooded on his handicap, admitting he became cynical, skeptical and savage.

Scott, on the other hand, chose to live a "radiant life" with faith in God. How like the infirmed apostle who refused to let physical weakness impede him. He declared he could do all things through the strength given Him of the Lord Christ.

Whatever your limitations may be today, thank God, Paul's God is your God and through Him you can do all things.

Where Could I Go But to the Lord
(Click to hear music)

Living below in this old sinful world
Hardly a comfort can afford
Striving alone to face temptations call
Where could I go to the Lord

Chorus:
Where could I go where could I go
Seeking a refuge for my soul
Needing a friend to help me in the end
Where could I go to the Lord

Neighbors are fun I love them everyone
We get along in sweet accord
But when I pass the chilling hand of death
Where could I go to the Lord

Chorus

Life here is grand with friends I love so well
Comfort I get from God's own Word
But when my soul needs manna from above
Where could I go to the Lord

Chorus

Where could I go where could I go
Seeking a refuge for my soul
Needing a friend to help me in the end
Where could I go to the Lord
Where could I go to the Lord

Hello Pat. Hope you enjoyed yourself.  :D

Hello Janice.

Thank-you Pat..I think I wil play Geo Bev. Shea's rendition of your devotional hymn right now.  I need it.

God Bless everyone,
Love you all.

Pat:  Thank you for your concern about grandson.  Also, thanks for your message this early A.M.

JudyB:  It is so thrilling to hear of your support for your daughter wishing to go to college.  How exciting for the family.

Jane:  Yes, it can be irksome when you have something important on your mind, take the time to write your thoughts and whiff - no one mentions anything.  It is such a fast-moving world we are in and good to slow down and process the information in the posts in here.

Jenny:  I have the above song on a George B. Shea tape and you reminded me - thank you.

I will try to go back to sleep.
Goodnight again.  Carol

Good Morning. Today Gloria wants me to take her to some Indian thing going on at the Indian Health clinic for three hours. Sound like it will be interesting as it is going on for two days from 8 am to 10 pm. Did I tell you all that she is Native American?

Going to the chiropractor this afternoon after work.

Thank you Pat for the devotional.

"Even now," declares the LORD, "return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning." Rend (tear) your heart and not your garments. Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.

Who knows? He may turn and have pity and leave behind a blessing-- grain offerings and drink offerings for the LORD your God.

Joel 2:12-14 NIV

But when I say to the wicked, "You will surely die,' and he turns from his sin and practices justice and righteousness, if a wicked man restores a pledge, pays back what he has taken by robbery, walks by the statutes which ensure life without committing iniquity, he shall surely live; he shall not die.

None of his sins that he has committed will be remembered against him. He has practiced justice and righteousness; he shall surely live.

Pat, thanks for the devotional.  I have always liked the song:

QuoteWhere could I go where could I go
Seeking a refuge for my soul
Needing a friend to help me in the end
Where could I go to the Lord
Where could I go to the Lord

Janice, good morning to you even though it was last evening when you were here.

Jenny, and God bless you too.  It is always good to see you here each morning.

Carol, yes, we need sometimes to slow down and process the information.  Yet it seems like there is always something else calling for our attention.  In my case it is Cornelia reminding me of something else I need to do.  Oh well.

And HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIZ.  Seems like birthdays come around so often.

Sarah, it is nice of you to stop by each morning before going to school.  But tomorrow is Saturday.  No school.

Marilyn, I hope you enjoy your visit to the Indian Health Center.  I think my mother’s grandmother was Native American.  But I am not sure about that.  I wish I had asked my mother a lot of questions when she was living that I never thought to ask.

BIBLE QUESTION:  Who said this?  “But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.”

Pat

Good Morning Everyone!

Well, I'm starting to slow down a wee bit now.  I have picked my raspberries (some were falling off the canes) and the blackberries.  Between the two, I got about a quart.  And I had lots of tomatoes too to bring in.  Now, when I get my lawn cut it will be great!

Yes, I had a wonderful time with Janet!  The first night, we went to the Penthouse Restaurant overlooking the Falls in the Sheraton Hotel and it was such a lovely meal and sitting with Janet and Darryl was just like old times and it wasn't as if we were just meeting for the first time.

Then on Wednesday, we had a great time just the four of us while the rest of the tour went to Toronto.  We visited the Floral Clock, a tiny Wayside Chapel on the Niagara Parkway and then several hours in Niagara-on-the-Lake.  We viewed Lake Ontario and I showed Janet and Darryl where the swimmers set off when the attempt their swim across Lake Ontario to Toronto.  The weather was just perfect both days.  In the evening we went to the IMAX movie about the falls, watched the glass blowers make cranberry glass vases and bowls and then went to the top of the Skylon Tower and stayed until they turned on the lights on both the American Falls and the Horseshoe Falls.  It was lovely.

Yesterday, we went on the Maid of the Mist boat and got soaken wet.  Hope that Janet gets some photos with her underwater camera as we just couldn't have ours out in the wet conditions.  The boat goes right up to the Falls and it's like you're in the most torrential rain storm.  But it was so nice to see this different view of both the Falls.

Then we met again at the Floral Clock and then on up to Niagara-on-the-Lake again for lunch at the nicest little restaurant called the "Epicurian".  Absolutely delicious food.

Then it was a final "Cheerio" to them both as they head off to the Welland Canal to see a ship coming through and Ruth and I spent some time in a garden nursery and then on home.

Boy!  It was great to get away even for two days.

Thanks for keeping CP going folks!  I haven't read the past messages yet but will do that a little later.

Good to see you stop in Janice!  We miss you when we don't hear from you.  I hope that you both are keeping well.

Glad you enjoyed today's hymn, Papa John.  It's a favourite of mine as well.

Soblessed, I'm so happy to see you posting.  It's a bit different at first to get used to the software that CP uses but when you start posting and posting and posting, it just comes natural.  Glad you're enjoying our site.

Enjoy your day in school, Sarah!   Talk to you on here later.

Jenny, is your cold gone now?  I sure hope that you are keeping well.  Give my love to Chris and Carol.

Carol, keep us posted on the news of your grandson.  What a traumatic thing to happen!

Well, I have to start some laundry and I think I'm going to go and cut the lawn and also have to go and pick up some cream for my coffee.

Janet just phoned me from the bus.  They are in Buffalo, New York and apparently a fellow on the trip got chest pains last night and had to be taken to the hospital in the night.  They are flying him home and then another man is not well and she was telling me that they were just approaching the Buffalo airport to put him on a plane for Oklahoma city to fly him and his wife home.  I hope that their illnesses aren't serious.  She said to say "Hello" to all CP'ers!

Good morning, I'm in Indiana with my best friend today. I hope I can talk her into participating on our site. We're enjoying the beautiful music, and have had a great time talking and catching up on "things."

Well, need to go, this time with her is so precious that I'll beg to be excused and settle in for another good chat with her this morning.

Y'all have a great day.

Wow, Pat!  What a fun time you had.  ;D I feel bad for the poor fellows who are sick.  Hope they get well.  I also hope Janet got some photos.  Can't wait to see what you girls saw.  :)

I have been busy trying to set up my account at Photoreflect.com. What a pain.  I give up for now.
Kid's are doing their school and Lila Mae (believe it or not :o) is still sleeping.  I think I will go get ready for my daily walk and take some cash to the school for Chandraya's lunch.

Don't forget to take a walk today! :D

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LIZ!!!!!

Good morning, everyone!!!!!  Another great day in Indiana.  Hi Ruth Ann!!!!!!  I see you down there in Indy!  And when I look east, I see Janet and Darrell coming to Indiana.  I am praying for  safe traveling for all of you!

All the sites Pat mentioned at Niagara Falls brought back memories.  What a beautiful area!  So many flowers and I don't think I have ever been anywhere where it is so clean....not a speck of trash anywhere...at least, on the Canadian side.  I was there in 1974....30 years ago...but it seems like yesterday!!!

Seems my family are all going south tomorrow!!!  Tony and Charlene are going to southwest Indiana down by the Ohio River for their 15th Anniversary that was yesterday.  They are taking the Harley.  I just know they are going to love it down there.  Then Kaye Don, Barb and Ivalou are going to southeast Indiana to Hanover College to watch a football game.  Kaye Don and Barb has a grandson that is a Senior and is on the football team.  Then Jerry and I are going to south Indiana to Scottsburg to a reunion.  Descendants from my maternal grandfather.  Jerry and I have been to this reunion two times before.  Lots of fun!  Hope Indiana doesn't tip into the Ohio River with all of the weight on the southern end of Indiana!!!!!!!!   ::) ::)

I am moving on.  Need to get off of this computer.  Need to relax and stretch out instead of sit here all day.  Like Jane, I don't have the time to sit here and I don't think it is necessary!

<:))))><<~~<:))))><<~~<:))))><<~~<:))))><<~~<:))))

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone and welcome home Pat.  It sounds like you all had a marvelous time.

Carol, what a frightening experience.  Your grandson was certainly fortunate not to be seriously hurt.  How old is he?

JudyB, glad to see that Bonnie is going to college.  It is never to late to go to college, even as a senior citizen.  So maybe your time just hasn't come yet to attend college.  Learning is a lifelong experience.

Happy Birthday, Liz.

Marilyn, hope you get a refrigerator today.  Sounds like what the landlord has in mind won't be much better than what you had.

Jane, my feeling is not the number of pages we may fill with postings but rather that we see our CP friends posting, whether it is just to say hi or to be able to take the time to try to respond to everyone posting.  Sometimes I really don't have anything particularly useful to say or don't feel I have the time to devote to a long posting  but want to at least say hi to everyone.  We probably all go through the same thought processes in not wanting to have anyone feel neglected and yet I often just don't have the time to address everyone and therefore will make just a few comments.  All of the postings are important because they represent a connection to each other.  I am glad you expressed your thoughts on this issue as it caused me to think through my own thoughts.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Revival: Not Just Intensity of Prayer

He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And
he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and
manifest Myself to him.
--John 14:21

Intensity of prayer is no criterion of its effectiveness. A man may
throw himself on his face and sob out his troubles to the Lord and
yet have no intention to obey the commandments of Christ. Strong
emotion and tears may be no more than the outcropping of a vexed
spirit, evidence of stubborn resistance to God's known will....

No matter what I write here, thousands of pastors will continue to
call their people to prayer in the forlorn hope that God will
finally relent and send revival if only His people wear themselves
out in intercession. To such people God must indeed appear to be a
hard taskmaster, for the years pass and the young get old and the
aged die and still no help comes. The prayer meeting room becomes a
wailing wall and the lights burn long, and still the rains tarry.

Has God forgotten to be gracious? Let any reader begin to obey and
he will have the answer. "Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he
is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father,
and I too will love him and show myself to him" (John 14:21).

Isn't that what we want after all?  The Size of the Soul, 20-21.

"Lord, help me to obey Your commandments. My spirit is willing, but
my flesh is weak! I long to live in that obedience, in order that I
may know the Father's love and manifestation to me. Amen."

Well, no one has mentioned my question so I will ask it again.

Doesn’t anyone know?

Hi Everyone, yesterday I came back from Pat's place in Guelph after we had spent 2 days in Niagara Falls and Niagara on the Lake.   We had wonderful weather and a glorious 2 days with Janet and Darryl.

I had an added bonus when I met my son Dan in Niagara on the Lake.   Dan delivers fish to the Epicurian Restaurant as well as many others, and he just happened to be delivering when the bus tour was there around 1:00 p.m.   Well when Danny introduced me to the chef and the owner of the restaurant he wouldn't let me pay for my meal and told me it was "on the house".  They said my son was well respected around that area.

We went to a beautiful gallery that belonged to Trisha Romance.   She is a wonderful artist and very popular.  Janet and Darryl enjoyed her gallery.

We went up the Skylon Tower and waited for the lights to come on The Falls.   What a wonderful sight.   Beautiful colours of pink, blue, green, white and purple.

It made us realize what a wonderful God we have, who has created this amazing planet.

God Bless

Love Ruthie
