Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever,
I will sing, I will sing,
I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever,
I will sing of the mercies of the Lord.
With my mouth will I make known,
Thy faithfulness, Thy faithfulness.
With thy mouth, I will make known,
Thy faithfulness to all generations.
I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever,
I will sing of the mercies of the Lord.

:) great to hear that CP is up and running again.. I was wondering what happened!
When I think upon my God, my heart is so full of joy that the notes dance and leap from my pen- Franz Josef Haydn.

Papa John

It is good to be back today.  Cornelia and I were out all morning to run some errands.  I just had a great tomato sandwich for lunch.  We stopped at a roadside market and got some delicious homegrown vine ripened tomatoes.  Nothing better.

James 1:13-17
13   When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone;
14   but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed.
15   Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
16   Don't be deceived, my dear brothers.
17   Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
(NIV)

I hope you all have a good day.

I couldn't get in last night so I assumed CP was down.  Jerry said on IM that he couldn't get on CP either.  Then I knew CP was down.

Now, I KNOW I posted on NEM yesterday very early...before 7 a.m. EST.  But I don't see it on yesterday's NEM...Hmmmmm!  Anyway, I am late today.  I have been so busy.  So busy that I can't remember what all I have been doing.  But I am resting now at the pc.

It IS[/size] good to see CP back!
I'll be busy this week - have to preach this next Sunday.  It'll be on Revelation 21, and what a wonderful chapter that is!  "Eye has not seen, and ear has not heard, neither has it entered into the heart of man the things the Lord has prepared for us!"  And right there, in John's vision, it's all presented to us clearly!  It should encourage us to serve our Lord today, because there we see that nothing we do for Him now is lost.

glad to see that CP is back up and running, now i must run lol got to get crafts ready for Liberal Campmeeting.... TTYL

The Church: Judging By the Financial Report

Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor
to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us
richly all things to enjoy.
--1 Timothy 6:17

We in the churches seem unable to rise above the fiscal philosophy
which rules the business world; so we introduce into our church
finances the psychology of the great secular institutions so familiar
to us all and judge a church by its financial report much as we judge
a bank or a department store.

A look into history will quickly convince any interested person that
the true church has almost always suffered more from prosperity than
from poverty. Her times of greatest spiritual power have usually
coincided with her periods of indigence and rejection; with wealth
came weakness and backsliding. If this cannot be explained, neither
apparently can it be escaped. . . .

The point I am trying to make here is that while money has a proper
place in the total life of the church militant, the tendency is to
attach to it an importance that is far greater than is biblically
sound or morally right. The average church has so established
itself organizationally and financially that God is simply not
necessary to it. So entrenched is its authority and so stable are
the religious habits of its members that God could withdraw Himself
completely from it and it could run on for years on its own
momentum.  The Warfare of the Spirit, 9-11.

"Lord, it's hard to ask for You to send us poverty. But we do want
the spirit that doesn't depend on our wealth. Keep us mindful that
though we have so much our only real wealth is in You. Amen."

Well hello!  Glad to see that CP is back!  It's hard finding it down, and I keep trying and trying............

Strange day today.  One of those where things just don't go according to plan, but that is okay.  Darrel went to the dermatologist about numerous bumps, etc. that I have been concerned about and learned they are all harmless.  He did get some of them frozen with Nitrogen to remove them, but at least that's one worry out of the way.

I have to get Curt's daily letter written and out to the mailbox!!!  Back later!

Anthony

I just got an email to say that CP had been down for a while.

I know how hard it can be for the moderators and administrators during such times, so I am very pleased that things are working properly now.  God bless you all and I trust that you will  not have anymore gliches to overcome.

Anthony.

Well, it's so nice to see each and every one of you posting so far.  It's good that we can keep together this way.  The fault of the problem hasn't even been found yet.  Obviously something has caused it but Ian isn't back yet or if he is, I haven't heard from him as of now but with hundreds of accounts being involved, I'm sure that we're not high on his list and I don't expect to be.  Wendy kept on rebooting something or other (that's me--a webhosting neophyte) and finally, it worked!

Nice to see you, Anthony.  How's your mother?  I pray for her often.

And Janet, are you still working hard helping Darrel?

Thanks so much, Chris, for your faithfulness in sharing Dr. Tozer's wonderful writings with us.  He was sure a great teacher.

Good to see you posting Sarah.  Hope you have some great Bible studies and crafts with the kids.

Hi Alma!  How's that mountain road?  When you say you live up that road, are there other houses that you pass on the way to your house?  I bet you have some wonderful sunsets.

Al, what a great portion to preach from!

Thanks for sharing that with us today.  We'll be remembering you in prayer this weekend as you share the message that the Lord lays on your heart.

Well, I'm expecting company soon.  But I'll be back.

But there is a very dangerous place in Holland
when there something happen then a view places are away.A lot police and soldiers are day and night working now. People are afraid.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BONESY
GOD BLESS YOU COUSIN JOHN
GOD ZEGENE JE NEEF JAN
VEEL LIEFS UIT HOLLAND ;)

But i wish you all a nice time

we go walk now and then to bed

   GOODNIGHT

    Till tomorrow so God will

Janet

Ria, what a cute little graphic!  And I'm sorry to hear of the fears of an attack in Holland.  I guess the world will never ever be the same as it was before the attacks on the World Trade Center.  I try not to allow fear to get a hold in my mind, because that would only make matters worse.  I just say "God is in control!  If it is His time to take me home, then I am ready!"  Of course, living way out here in the "sticks" makes us feel we aren't too vulnerable to an attack, but who knows?  I just know I refuse to spend time or energy worrying about it.

Did you all realize that our Trisha is marrying her Jacob day after tomorrow??   I know you all wish them well, as I do.  I hope she will send Pat some of the wedding photos so we can all see her on her big day!

Anthony!  Good to see you here today!  Pop in and post again soon!

Pat, we never got back to our big job today, plan to get at it very early in the morning before it gets too hot.  By the time he got home from the doctor's it was getting really hot, so we used that as our excuse not to work on it today.

I need to see about my email, I know I got about 40 this morning and haven't had time to read them.

WELCOME MICHAEL!!

We're so glad to see you here!

"Click for Waterloo Wellington, Ontario Forecast"

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  This has been an unusual day for us as Pat, our daughter Stacey, and I actually worked at a paying job this afternoon.  It didn't pay very much but it felt good to be doing something for which I got paid (or will tomorrow).

We are working at a direct advertising place stuffing envelopes with two pieces of campaign literature for our County Commissioner race.  One piece was a printed card and the other was a DVD.  Then the envelopes had to be glued shut with a glue stick.  They all had to be kept in a certain order as they printed off the database.  There were seven of us working and we will be at it again tomorrow as there are over 20,000 pieces of mail to stuff.

I actually felt better when we ended the day than when I started the job as still hadn't felt too good this morning.  Still a little short of breath upon exertion but think that is better.

Glad to see CP back up and running.  Talk about pressure--it must be terrific on the folks running an ISP, espeicially regarding business accounts.

Bonesy, happy birthday.

Welcome Michael.

Jeanne Lee

Seems like I missed all the excitement.  I didn't even know CP had been down until I turned on and checked my email.   :-\

I worked half a day today and will again on Friday, then next week it'll be full time - 8:00 a.m. to 5:00p.m.  But for three days I can sleep in.  Sure...  until maybe 6:00 or 6:30.   ;D  But at least there's no alarm clock those days.  :)

All this week the temperatures are lower (around 75-80 F) and a chance every day of "scattered" thunderstorms.  That kind of forecast sure lets the weatherman off the hook - he's right whether it storms or not!  ;D
