Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

Samantha, we are ok in our area.  Just had some rain.  I heard a little wind during the night but no damage or power outages.  It is to move out of the area soon.

Pat is still suffering from the bad cold but was able to sleep a bit last night.

I have a busy day ahead as will soon leave for church and after church have to go to Kaiser to pick up a prescription for Pat that she forgot was to be picked up rather than mailed to her.  Then will need to pick up some lunch.  I have to be back at the church this evening at 5 pm as tonight is our annual Chili Show and Talent Supper (that is what it is called).  The choir furnishes the chili, hot dogs, buns and drinks and the folks from the congregation bring a desert to share.  After the dinner we have a talent show from among the folks in our congregation.  A good will offering is taken and that helps us buy new music or hire muscians for special occasions.  Most years I miss this event because we are in Florida but we went early this year.

Pat, that was a nice story.

Ruth Ann, sorry about the experiences of your friend.  Glad it worked out and it was very nice of you to bring her lunch.  I am sure that made her day more pleasant after a bad start.

Karmat, the kids may not be keeping store but it sounds like the proud mothers may be.  :)

Marilyn, I think we will be in the market for a new bed before too long.  We have had the same set for quite a few years.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

I am finally ready for church, which I was able to do between phone calls from Ruth. I have had to put my foot down and tell her that  This is my day off and not to call an ambulance just because she is scared. I told her to lock her doors and talk to Jesus. He will never leave her nor forsake her that He is always there to watch over her.

She called me after midnight to ask if she should call an ambulance, when I asked what was wrong she was scared. She started calling me earlier in the evening, at 12:30 am  and about 10 times this morning.

Ok now I have unloaded I will be ok. It sure has been a stressful night, not much sleep after she woke me up. today is ta day of rest and I am going to REST, I was going to go look at beds this afternoon, I think the Lord is telling me to rest and forget the bed for today.

Hello, All!  We arrived back home from Colorado today about 12:30.  We got stranded overnight, because the high winds and blowing snow caused the roads to be blocked.  God was so good to us; right by where the highway was closed stood a nice motel and restaurant, and we all checked in for the night (25 of us!)  We had a wonderful afternoon and evening, playing games and enjoying our brothers and sisters from the church.  Another group stayed farther up the line, in Pueblo, I believe.  Since the pastor, the musicians and most of the church leadership were stranded in Colorado, services were canceled for today.

Horn Creek was beautiful, and everyone had a great time.  We were scheduled to leave right after lunch, but because of weather reports, we left right after breakfast---but still got stuck.  But it's okay, all of us would rather be safe and warm in a nice motel than out on the road somewhere stuck in a snowdrift, cold and miserable!  ;)

I have read all the posts since I left, too many to respond to individually.  But I love you all, and have or will pray for the mentioned needs, and will be back later.  I must go to the care home to check on Mom and Beth.

Later!  :)

Janet, I understand about being snowed in when you're in an unfamiliar town. Has happened to me, and God was SO merciful when it happened. I had flown to where my daugher was a freshman in college to help her drive back home. We got stopped by the highway patrol when they closed the roads. We went to a motel, and I was going around the car trying to kick off the big chunks of ice that form behind tires when I noticed her tires were not only threadbare, the steel in them was showing!

So, next day found us purchasing tires before we went any further. I still praise Him for keeping us safe on that long journey home, and for keeping her safe, even on those tires, while she was such a long way from us.

Our pastor is speaking between now and Easter on the seven sayings from the cross. Today was 'Father, forgive them for they know not what they're doing." Such powerful words coming from a suffering Lord. The power of forgiveness based on His death for us is almost overwhelming to me - He died, even if it was just for me. How humbling! And, then, to think of Him bearing ALL the sins of ALL the ages because of His love for us, truly does overwhelm me.

Y'all have a good afternoon.

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

It is still very cold here in Canada and they are colling for more snow tonight.   I have been chopping the ice that is still in my driveway so it won't be under the snow.   What a job!!

God bless

Hi Ed...I'll ask Ian, my son, who has a fishing website and maybe he might have some suggestions.

If you travel along the 401, we'll just have to meet for coffee.

If I go, I'll be traveling along the 401 with someone.  Not sure who yet.  Maybe my grandson and maybe an old HS buddy.  In either event, we'll try to arrange a cup of coffee.

By the way, nice story on the coal basket.

This morning God spoke to us in church in His quiet way.  I wonder if everyone heard Him or just some of us.

Janet - your story about ending up right next to a motel really struck a chord for me.  We flew from Hawaii to Seattle in 1985.  In Hawaii it was 84 degrees, and in Seattle it was 27.  Then we flew down to Portland, where our car was, and it was 30 degrees.  Just as the plane touched down it started snowing - HARD!  By the time we finally got our things and got out to the car it had snowed about 4 inches already.  We headed out, having to go south of Portland to Canby, Oregon - probably 20 miles or so.  To do it, we had to travel over hwy. 213 up and over a little hill.  We got most of the way up, then couldn't go any further.  The service station right near us had no chains (they were all bought up).  There was a motel right next to us, so we went there.  Only thing is, they had no heat in the room, due to outages.  But we had to stay, as there wasn't anything else.  We called our two boys in Canby, finally got one, and he said both of them had been out shovelling snow for neighbors.  So we were a bit cold, but it was shelter, and we thanked God for it and were able to get home the next day.
