Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Al Moak

God bless you and yours, Colin - with the greatest blessing of all, saving relationship with Jesus Christ.

Janet

Colin, my sympathy and prayers are with you at this difficult time.  God bless you, my dear brother.  (((hugs)))

I haven't been home long.  Beth was wanting to get out of the Care Home; she hadn't been out since Christmas, so Diane and I took her to Garden City today.  We had a nice time, shopped, ate at Lone Star, didn't have to rush.  We all enjoyed it, and the weather was nice, too.

I'm sorry to hear of the terrible weather and the awful accident in Canada.  I hope things are soon much better up there.

Etta Sue, I'm trying to get my hands to work together.  Of course, I have had only four lessons so far.  But such fun I am having!  :)

I have read all the posts, but I'm tired and still need to practice, so won't make this long.  Maybe I shouldn't practice at bedtime, though, because every time I do, I practice all night long in my head.  Might improve faster, but it doesn't do much for my rest!  ;)

And now, to that piano................

Colin, Sorry about your loss, but rejoicing in the fact that he is not bound by earthly struggles any longer.

Ruth Ann Bice

I am saddened by your loss, Colin. Such loss is really difficult for those of us left behind to bear. I'll be praying for y'all.

There are times when you have a "guest" on the website during the day - that person just may be me looking in from work. The stress of working completely alone and doing everything by computer sometimes gets next to me - it's those times I come here to our quiet home to gather my wits for the remainder of the day.

Thank you for being part of this website.

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Colin:   Sorry to hear about your loss.  May you feel the presence of the Holy Spirit during this time.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Proverbs 3:6

Yesterday the whole of Southern Ontario it seems was caught by the storm.   The main highways headed north were mostly all closed also the east and west roads had problems  some  being closed.  Hydro lines down,  then icing on some tall structures in Toronto, as some chunks were coming down on the main roadways.

One of the local schools had a group of students at one of the ski hills in the Barrie area and our school bus was not able to get then last evening,  for the safety of all concerned the students spent the night at the ski lodge coming home sometime this morning roads permitting.

Sue:  It seems that your dog is smarter than you.

I am starting to get a little sleepy and I still need to send a couple of messages.    I will check in tomorrow.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Proverbs 3:6

Colin ~ Please accept my sympathy and prayers on your loss of your father.  Just remember that when it is your time for your home-going, he will be there to meet you.  The passing of a loved one is so sad for us who are left behind but just think, his struggle is over.  He is dining with Jesus tonight!

Do you feel my arms stretching across the pond and hugging you?

Nita

Colin, I read of your loss and am saddened with you.  I know our Father will enclose you in His love and carry you through the grieving time.  We really care about you here.  You know that everyone has come to love you.  How could we not? :)

We had some good news here today.  My little dog, Rocko, has had kidney stones, and the report showed today that with much prayer, First PRAYER, and a diet change of mostly vegetarian, the stones have dissolved.   My "Praise The Lord" could be heard beyond the receptionist area at the vets office. I was, and am, so elated.  I would never want him to suffer with stones.

Lovely weather here on the Oregon coast.  I think rain is coming soon, but it's been so nice.

Janet, it sounds like you had a really good time with your daughters today.  I know Beth must get cabin fever at times.  Is she still sad over .....her boyfriend.......sorry I can't remember his name right now.  Has she talked to him since?  His sister?  I was just wondering.

I'll say goodnight and see what my guys are up to.  It's quiet in the living room.  Maybe sleeping.        Nita

Jeannine

Morning,

Sorry I have been scarce. Been really stressed out lately. The reasons? Frank has to have a feeding tube placed, was supposed to have it done yesterday but they couldn't get him on the schedule, so they will try again today. He is having a rough time trying to eat anything, chokes on it because he can't feel it in his mouth and chokes on it.

Michael is now in the hospital with strep, this version has a rash accompanying, and he also has some puffiness throughout his entire body. On an antibiotic, hope it  helps him. The good news is they are both on the same hospital one floor apart. So that was my day yesterday.

Colin ~ You and yours are in my prayers! You are surrounded by His Love and loving arms are comforting you.  :aaah:

Hi Marilyn, shutterbugmom, Kevin, Larry, Al, Gord, Pat, Etta Sue, Ruthie, Janet, and anyone else I forgot to mention. Thank you all for your prayers. Am praying for all here as well, and am glad you are all here. I may not remember names or comment on all posts, but you are all in my prayers daily.

Still Trusting In Him,
<><Jeannine

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  Once again just a few minutes to post before starting another busy day.  Yesterday I got my new highspeed internet service in when the new combined modem/router arrived.  It was easy to install and I once again have all of my computers networked.  Then the DirecTV man came and installed that service in my house, including here on my computer's TV card.  The quality is much higher than what I had with cable because this is digital and not analog.

Colin, so sorry to hear of the loss of your father.  It is a difficult time for most families but also a time to recall many happy memories and for family to once again gather.  May God comfort you in the days ahead.

Jeannine, hope the feeding tube can be placed today and also that you see improvement in Michael.  You certainly have a lot on your plate.

JudyB, it sounds like it is very cold and bad up your way.

I need to leave for coffee to pick up the man who goes with me each day.  Hopefully I will find some time to come back and do a little more posting today.

Janet

Good morning!  I am taking a few minutes to post before starting my busy day.  Darrel has therapy again today, then we will work on the system at the rec center.

Colin, if you look in, would you let us know when your father's service will be?  Thanks.  I neglected to mention that your poem was very touching.  I think your father would love it.  I'm still praying for you and yours.

Jeannine, you have such a heavy load just now.  I'm praying for Jesus to give you strength and peace as you do what has to be done for your little family right now.  Hope they get the feeding tube put in today and that all goes well.  Pray that Michael recovers quickly and can soon be home again.  ((((hugs))))

So much happening to so many here, and I am rushed, rushed, rushed.  But I have and do read every post and remember you in prayer.

Oh, Nita---you asked about Beth.  Yes, she and John are talking, and his sister is away somewhere, so Beth hasn't talked to her as yet.  It's a real "soap opera!"   ;)

I must run!  Still have to eat some breakfast before we go.

Jeannine ~ As Larry said you have a lot on your plate..full to overflowing!  Here's praying that they get the feeding tube in today and that Michael is much, much better with the antibiotics in him.  Whew!  You take care of yourself...don't do too much...just what you have to do...that will be enough!

Today I am going to IU.  At least it is sunny...not raining or snowing!  Nancy called me yesterday and we are going out to eat first and then to IU.  Walter seems to function better when he has had a good meal.  I haven't seen them for awhile...I miss them.

John arrived home last night around 8:00.  HE said all the roads were dry and all the accidents and stranded motorists were gone.  He had a wonderful time with the folks who went to the course.  We are really seing God's direction in our lives.

I have a little heater that works well in the school room to keep us warm.  As a result we are able to enjoy the snow outside and the heat inside.

During that storm there were a lot of schools in the Barrie area that kept the children overnight.  Buses were cancelled and parents notified that they would have to pick up their children themselves.  Parents were not able to get to the schools so they had teachers stay at the schools as chaperones.  I only know of this happening one other time and that was in the Hamilton French Separate School.

Jeanine I continue to pray for your family, same goes for Colin.

I need to get off the 'puter and let John on.  He has some messaging to do.

Bye for now

Carol

The phone rang a few minutes ago and another thing is on my calendar for tomorrow - I feel  an overload right now so am not going to a Bernina class just to make a purse.  I really don't need the purse & wouldn't use it anyway.  It is nice to cross something off my "must do" list.

Colin:  Thinking of you!

Jeannine:  Thank you for your update on Colin as well as keeping us posted on your husband's health right now.

Carol

JudyB

Carol it is always good to scratch appointments and things off your calendar.  It is sometimes called putting margin into your life.  I need to do that.

John came home from the course he was taking totally rejeuvenated.  I am always amazed at the changes I see in him after this kind of course.

Pat  How is JudyMc?

We just found out that all the basement and all the schoolroom lights and plugs are on one fuse.  That is another thing on the honeydo list.  Something that will need changing this summer.

Well till later

DAD

When the black horse came to give you your last ride
To take you home over the vast distance wide
The chariot God sent was built by His own hand
And it came for you Dad to take you to a better land

The horse hooves came trotting ever so near
Coming for you Dad the one I loved so dear
The wheels of the chariot stopped beside you I know
And you climbed aboard for it was time for you to go

The spokes of the wheels were spinning around
As you left this earth and were Heaven bound
As the horse pulled strongly; swiftly you went
And you arrived to your eternal Home in the chariot God sent

You will have met the great Carpenter; God's beloved Son
He gave you the skills for the woodwork you have done
All your labours are finished for you worked hard and sore
And pain; suffering and agony you will never know anymore

Now in your beautiful mansion; Christ's handiwork you will see
Greater than the house Dad you helped build for me
On earth I lived beside you; now you are gone forever more
But someday I will be coming to live in a mansion next door

For you have left but only a little time before me
Someday in the glory your face again I'll see
And on the streets of Heaven the greeting will be glad
When I embrace you once again my dear beloved Dad

Colin

I have looked in today and found great comfort in all your kind words and prayers. I thank you for them and I love you all. I consider you all dear friends. My Dad loved horses and was a carpenter. He built horses carts in his spare time. I wrote the above poem this morning to reflect this...the black horse symbolising death coming. I have asked my minister to read it out tomorrow at the church service which is 1:30 pm British time. I thank you once again for all your prayers and kind words. You have touched my heart with them. God bless

An amazing poem, Colin.  I was honored to preach a sermon of Hope at my Dad's "coming home" celebration, as some like to call it.

Colin, that is indeed another touching poem, written from your heart for your Dad.  I'm glad it will be read at his service.  We will be thinking of and praying for you and your family during the day tomorrow.

I just stopped in to see if everyone is okay, still praying for Jeannine and family, and now must go, as it is time for church.

Ruth Ann Bice

Hi, friends,

It was a good day at work. Through our Master's guidance, I was able to resolve a problem that had been plaguing 3 companies, and when we finished our conference call, it seemed all minds were clear.

Colin, what a touching poem. I can imagine your father arriving at Heaven's gates in fine style. And, truly, I think it will be such a short time between our loved ones' arrivals in heaven, and the years that pass until we ourselves will arrive most likely will seem like something as short as the blink of an eyelid. Such rejoicing there will be when the reunion occurs!

Jeannine, I've been very concerned about your family's situation. Will continue praying.

Also, Pat, for your health, and Sarah, for your sister and nephew, and Janet, for your family situation, and for Larry's heart.

And, I remember Rainbow's mother, and Mieka, and Iain, and SO many others.

We are so blessed to be able to lift up our brothers and sisters to our Lord.

Y'all have a good evening.

Ruth Ann

Al Moak

I thank our Lord with you, Ruth Ann, for giving you grace to resolve the problem at work.  It's as much His work as yours (more), and He is indeed glorified to work through you in that way.

What's with everybody?  I'm the first today!  Are you all sleeping in?

Janet

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz  :o  OH!  Hi there, Al!   ;)

Al, I was quite surprised to read that you had been involved in a similar type of business to Darrel's.  We worked several hours on the system at the rec center yesterday.  Darrel says it must have been installed by an electrician; sure wasn't an alarm tech.  We got most of it to work, still have to figure out where the guy got the power to the smoke alarms.  We think we will get it done today.

Ruth Ann, good for you!  I am glad your employers know how valuable you are to them, and of course we know your Father is working through you.  What a blessing you are as an employee.......and as a FRIEND!

Pat, I surely hope you are on the mend, and that the mending will be completed in supernatural time!  We love you and need you here.   <3

I will be back later, probably late this evening.

hope everyone has a wonderful God-filled day and that His presence surrounds you fully when you need it most.

We have a beautiful sunny day.  My last day of work for a week as it is the beginning of the kids week off school ( March break) I love it.

Jeannie: Your are in my thoughts and prayers.
Sue:   How is Noelle doing?
Pat:  How are you feeling today?
Janet:  Do take care of yourself & family.

I have an 11:30 appointment so must get ready to head out.

Have a great day.

Good morning everyone.  I didn't post yesterday and no one missed me boo hoo  .

Ruth is doing so much better that yesterday I told her that I am no longer going to work on Saturday after this week.  Her son can deal with that or get busy and hire someone to work the weekend.

I did come and check on all y-all yesterday just didn't have anything to say at that time.

My prayers  are being said for every one who  needs prayer.  We are on a whole week of specific prayer and this weekend is a 24 hour  prayer commitment. My hour is 9-10 pm.

Take care ya-ll I will see you later today.

Clear and sunny.  This is so good.  The sun is strong and soon we will have no snow.  It is hard to believe it is aalready March 8th.  Another month and most of the snow will be gone.

John has some mechanical stuff he has to fix.  I have told him to bring it into the house.  I know most people would not want the smell of fuel in the house, but he has so many problems that are cold related that it is better to put up with the smell that have him suffer with the cold.

I received an email from a long time friend last night.  He is 73 and had a nasty fall in december.  As a result he had to have his knee operated on Monday.  While he was in hospital they found out he has some heart problems.  Keep Jim in prayer that his knee will heal quickly.

WE are not going to be home tomorrow.  With winter break coming we have done things differently.  We have taken a day here and there over about a month as our winter break and we will work through the official winter break.

On Sunday our time changes.  We jump forward an hour into daylight savings.  Or is it that we leave daylight savings.  I always get mixed up by that.  Usually the time change is in April not March, aparently there has been a lot of controversy over the date of the time change.

Marilyn The box still hasn't arrived, I suspect it is hung up in customs.

Well I am getting back to work on school stuff.

What a wonderful tribute to your father, Colin!  I can tell there won't be a dry eye when your minister read your poem during the funeral.

Yes, this Sunday morning at 2:00am we are to move our clocks UP one hour and will officially be in Daylight Savings Time.  This is fairly new in Indiana.  I think it is the second summer for DST.  I like it.  I like to sleep in.  In fact, I really slept in this morning....and just couldn't get moving.  But all my morning things are done...breakfast, devotions, walking for 15 minutes and now on the pc.

Yesterday was great driving to I.U. in Bloomington, Indiana.  If the grass would have been green and a bit of green on the trees, I would have thought it was Spring!  Nice sunny day!  The next time I drive Nancy and Walter there, it will be daylight...due to DST...while driving home!

I need to go to the bank today and I must get busy with my pictures from Florida.  I can enter three photos in a Kokomo, Indiana, contest.  They have to be matted and framed.  That's new for me.  Only just matted before!  Wish I knew someone with some free frames.  Hmmmm!  I think I will ask with an email that goes out to members of my church.  That may work!

SPRING.......forward

FALL......back

We are not getting any sunlight here anyway....so won't much matter!
