Hello, friends!  Good seeing a few more posts today!  I also received the prayer request from our Ruth Ann, have been lifting her up in prayer.  I sent her a little text today asking for an update, she answered and said she had her annual eye exam today and will update me as soon as she can.  She's very thankful for all the prayers, thank you!

Darrel is better.  Yesterday we went to Liberal for a sonogram of his kidneys and bladder; and he has a tele=medicine appointment next Thursday.  I talked him into going to the senior center today to walk on the treadmill.  Then we stayed for lunch, and that worked out so well I think we will start doing it often.  It's good for Darrel to get out around people and visit a little more.  Of course, I talk to everybody!  ;)

It's so sad to see the awful wildfires in Colorado!  And it is terribly dry here, we are needing and praying for rain.  It's to turn cold tonight, was much cooler this morning.  Carol, sorry you are having to breathe the smoky air, that's not a good thing.  Even with the technical difficulties, what a blessing to be able to talk to a grandchild 'on the other side of the world!' Wow!  It would really be hard to go back to only writing letters.

Marilyn, I hope you and Keith are doing well, Freckles, too!  Good thing I scan and correct as I go, I had written "wreckles"  LOL.

Good to see your post, Jacqueline!

I'm praying over our election, fervently!  Will be so glad when it is past!

My 86 years old brother is hospitalized.  He has brittle diabetes and now has Covid.  But he is getting better, his daughter tells me.  Praise God!

Judy, thanks for keeping our little group going in here.  I will try to post more often.  Been watching lots of prophets and pastors I trust, talking about the election.  Appreciate all your work, and love the songs!

It is nice to see more posts this morning.

Janet:  Thank you for the update on Ruth Ann.  She is missed.  Also, it is nice to read about Darrel - the fact he is feeling better.

Jackie:  We count our blessings all the time.

Marilyn:  Keep safe!

Hello everyone. Keith and I are doing well as is Freckles. She is 13 now and just as spry as ever. Keith's middle son is planing a trip NOv. 7 to visit  Keith and check on him. Thank goodness one of them is willing to make the trip. Keith has good days and not so good days, This morning he had his pants on backward and couldn't figure out what was wrong with them.

I see RuthAnn on Facebook now and then, I too am praying for her. I have two wonderful Christian sisters in Christ that have health issues, one has aggressive breast cancer and I am not sure what the other has.  I would appreciate  everyone putting Carol (cancer) and Cathy on your prayer list. They are eibblings. I've know Cathy since I lived in McKinliville. She was the worship leader there.

Such relief in the news - we have a wonderful new Supreme Court member - outstanding!

The sun is out - but it will stay below freezing anyway.  There is another new fire west of us so that means filthy air quality.  Another prayer to be answered.

I made whole wheat bread yesterday and had to use molasses instead of honey so the bread does not taste as nice.  Otherwise, molasses is good for other recipes.

Oh, I have a story to repeat.  In the mountains near the fire area, a couple evacuated horses and a dog but had to leave their pet _ get this - bison.  The bison looked huge and had a girls name.  The story goes on - the local firemen took turns feeding the bison so she would be OK.  I thought this was a once in a lifetime incident to hear - isn't that so kind of the firemen?  Also, there were 9 firemen who lost their own homes to the fire.  Very sad stories but it is always uplifting to hear of the successful saves.

We are blessed and often don't realize how blessed.

Janet

So good to come in and see several new postings!  :)
Marilyn, it's good one of Keith's kids is coming to visit.  They will never regret doing that.  Glad the two of you and Freckles are doing well, really good to hear.

Carol, I, too, am so happy about Amy Coney Barrett being confirmed to the Supreme Court!  She is a magnificent woman! How she kept her cool through the awful grilling from the Democrats was truly amazing.  And I feel they WILL overturn Roe V Wade, too!!  Abortion has grieved my heart for years.

The wildfires in Colorado are so awful, I hope they get them put out soon.  Sorry about the bad air.  And yes, super nice of the firemen to feed the bison!  That wouldn't be an easy "pet" to move in a hurry, for sure!  In every tragedy, some miracles emerge--some big and some small, but all give us hope.

I got more good news from our Ruth Ann Bice today.  She says, "More reason for me to be grateful to our Lord.
I have a diabetic ulcer that is almost completely healed as of today.  The podiatrist says to return in 2 months!
Thanks be to God!"

Judy, are you getting a lot of snow up your way?  We got about 2 or 3 inches here, expecting more.  At least it is moisture!  I want to listen to one of the prophets so will see all of you later!

I wish our Lord would free me of my Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis but that is a very big ask, as i am only one of thousands suffering with this debilitating unwelcome disease, and there is no way i would expect to be treated any differently from those other thousands also praying for the same thing...sadly we suffer with what we get....this is the way of life...

Ruth Ann Bice...
...yes you received one of our God's miracles, but he cant nor wont heal everybody until it is our time to leave this earth, then we are made whole again...something for us to look forwards to...

We are home this morning after an early drive to the Veteran's hospital.  Don had an early appointment. Whew....tough and fast traffic. Should not complain as the radio is talking about the hurricane about to hit our southern states.

Thanks for the update on Ruth Ann.  A wonderful praise story on her healin

Would you believe i have just had a miracle...As i usually do i cry and talk to my Richard, to God, and asking for the impossible, to have our old life back, or to whoever is listening to me, and as i glanced to the side, i noticed a large lorry going past, and you would never guess what the very large writing running the whole length across its side said, it said " JACKRICHARDS," at the time i was sitting at the far end of my living room, on my office chair at the computer , on the first floor of my apartment, and just happened to look to my window toward the roadside of this property when it went past...never seen this truck before nor heard of this company...Maybe not a miracle but a sign from God..

We were able to sit outdoors yesterday with much less polution - meaning - they are getting a good handle on the fires.  Still, there are enough fires that firemen/and women are spending days of working so hard - and, at higher altitude as well.  Our beautiful places in this state will take decades to recover.

I have belonged to a group online that still use an old Viking sewing machine and today, while checking the site, lo and behold - someone hacked the site.  How mean is that?

Jackie:  There are signs of Grace all around and often.

Ruth Ann:  Wonderful health news for you!

Marilyn

Hello everyone Sorry I have not been posting more often. I have been trying to stay away from my computer, and my phone. It seems like I am constantly reading the news on both devices. At 3 pm I turn off my computer but after a little while I've been picking up my phone and reading there. Not a good idea!!!.

Since this pandemic I have gained 10 pounds even though I am still walking 5-6 miles per day. I really miss going to the gym, Since  ours closed and hasn't reopened yet there is only one other that takes my insurance and that one is co ed. I prefer  to be at a Women's only gym.  The yoga class hasn't even started back up.

Soup today will be chicken vegetable and I may add wild rice.

We are having mild and unseasonably warm weather.  Our doors and windows are open and that is different for this time of the year.

What an embarrassing mess happening with our votes this year.  This state used to be purple and work together but now it is blue (Dem) because of tons of Californians and others moving here in the last five years or so.   Some really faithful people are being voted out. I know, there are faithful Democrats but this will really change everyday life.  And.... if I know a Republican who is wicked - I would not vote for him/her.  Well, my vote doesn't count anyway.

There is better news on fire control in the mountains that this last snow helped a heap.  We desperately need snow for farmers, and our water supply that a few other states rely on as well.

Marilyn:  I lost about 20 pounds that I did not need to lose.  It is all from more house work, etc.  You are walking a lot - maybe you can find some exercise you can do at home.

I MUST do three exercises per morning to keep my sides from being in pain - it is mainly stretching places I would normally not.  Weird, but it is stopping pain so that is a new norm.

Praying daily for an end to this epidemic.

Well this has been an eventful couple of weeks, Doug has been here and taking down trees logging them and splitting them for us for winter burning!  We now have the wood in a pile and our son in law Jon has been working every day with John to get the wood in.  There will be enough for the winter, and that saves on the oil bill! I thank God for these 2 men.
Last weekend Jon and Heather moved in with us, to be a help for us.  It is wonderful to be able to chat without having the phone to the ear or to read on Facebook or my phone!
Bonnie is moving about 7 hours away this coming weekend.  She will be missed.

I meant to tell you about a young lad that has been trying my patience on my bus run. Challenging every move I make and every bus rule.  Well after numerous reports to the principal I have won.  He sits in his seat and talks to the person next to him, quietly. I put a well done written report to the principal and got a thumbs up by this boy!  I have persevered, with many tears on my part, and won!  Thanking God for this win!

We had about an inch of snow, which has all melted,  this week into the 60's and I suspect the last hurrah before the winter winds and snows!

Have a great day everyone!

It has been years since I have posted any pictures on CP.... Here's to a better time of posting.

Judy:  How wonderful to have help with the wood for winter!  We take it for granted that we can turn on the furnace.  Also, it sounds like the bus issue with a child is solved - so happy to hear that news.  It isn't right that they can get away with distractions and annoying deeds.  I hope you and John are comfortable all winter and spring as well.

I just adjusted the length on two pairs of jeans for Don.  It certainly is not my favorite job but my old machine still keeps working and that is so nice.

Our church has been closed for months and they do put out a message to check online so that is a great help.  It looks like not enough people in the state (Colorado) are obeying the rules of not congregating  - there is always violence in the city and we notice horrible driving speeds all due to anger.

We do have much better news & thankful for that - on the fires being more contained.  More snow this week.

Praying

Thank you for the message - Judy, it did work!

"We are troubled on every side yet not distressed, we are perplexed but not in despair. Persecuted but not forsaken, cast down but not destroyed. Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus,  that the Life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. " 2 Cor 4.
Thid is not every Christian.. It depends very much where you live, and how you live. Paul says.. Troubled but not distressed.. That is our way of life. Never get distressed by happenings around you, troubles come, troubles go. Perplexed but not in despair.. Yes life can puzzle us, why people do the things they do, say the things they say, can puzzle us, but we shouldn't despair of people's ways and words, let's keep our eyes on the One Who is ruling over mankind without them knowing,
Elections are of God, He turns men's hearts whichever way He deems fit.
And a nation gets the Leader they deserve.
Sursum corda.. Lift up your heads and hearts.

Carol

Thank you Judy and Chris for all of your work!

Marilyn:  Is this type OK for you?  Let me know if it needs to be larger. It is number 3.

It is snowing - just a tad - I am not ready.

Our biggest worry is our north facing driveway that slopes from the garage. Also, Don has health issues.  I give thanks every day that two of our boys are not far from here.  Giving thanks that our group of homes has us pay a yearly winter fee for shoveling the snow.  I still can do it but it is so nice to have a couple of young men come and clear driveway and all our sidewalk areas. The best news is any snow falling in the mountains will be most welcome in the fire areas.

In reading our internet site messages - we and friends feel shocked.  However, our lives are planned and we will get through this like we have before.

Today, I am so thankful to have a young man fix the basement gas fireplace.  He did a fine job and the room is so warm and welcoming - thinking of moving my sewing machine in there because it is so comfortable.  It is a large space and has the guest bed and a trundle bed for a family to stay there and they will appreciate the warmer area.  While typing this - I once again realized that we cannot have friends and family visit close - family does check in with us though and we feel so blessed.

Church - there is no gathering but a simple service is podcast now.  It is unreal - no funerals and no fall bazaar.

On the happy side, we are in touch with old friends and check in on the Texas nieces.  Grands are busy - and our daughter lost her tech job as a whole area was shut down.  She hopes for an interview soon.  We do all the right things and the numbers still rise because so many are not following these strict rules.

Keep the wonderful music coming - thank you, so soothing for the soul.

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things are passed away, behold, all things are become new." 2cor. 5.
How true that is, in February 1973, on a Tuesday, I was a drinker, going out to the pubs every weekend, smoking 20 cigarettes a day, cursing and swearing, taking the Lord's name in vain, and many more really bad habits, by the following evening, the Wednesday, I was a completely different man, what did it.. I opened a bible for the first time in my life, I was 30yrs old, I read the beginning of Matthew ch. 7 about being judged by God, and God convicted me right there and then that I was going to hell. I closed the bible. And I didn't know what to do, I was all alone before God, scared to death, what did I do.. I opened that bible again, that book which condemned me!
It opened at John's gospel ch. 1
And there I found the Good News, that Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners!
I fell on my knees and cried out for the first time in my life for mercy.
God was suddenly so near, so real.
I have no idea what length of time passed, it could have been a few minutes, it could have been an hour, but I know this, when I stood up, I was a different man, I had been born again and filled with the Spirit, my sins were gone, paid for by Jesus Christ who was now my Lord and Saviour!
I threw my cigarettes and lighter in the bin, they seemed so disgusting, I never smoked again, never went to the pub again. I had a new Life, a new beginning. And everyone who knew me couldn't believe it, they all thought that I had gone mad.
Well if this is madness I love it.
May someone reading this be encouraged, if Christ could change me He can change anyone!
God bless you.

Carol print is perfect. I am planning a move back to California. Gilbert want us there so they can watch over us. So I need lots of prayer. Convincing Keith to leave here and let me sell the house is a major undertaking. I need a whole lot of prayer, I've already found the perfect place Good price amd close to jusxt about all our needs, in Arcata. However  I don't think I can do much about the move until spring. in the meantime lots to get ride of

Marilyn:  Moving to California - that comes as a surprise  However, you can certainly be thankful for someone watching over you two.

We are "hanging in" so to say.  I have an unscheduled meeting with my doctor tomorrow - I think it is all stress that I never talk about - do pray for relief but my blood pressure isn't helping me.  So very thankful that I can go to a doc - she is really a top doc.

My old electric breadmaker hit the dust - now learning a new one & hoping this first loaf of oatmeal bread will turn out right.  It has a bit of honey in it too.

Our church is still closed but they send readings most every day.  Their work is so much more difficult and all they/we can do is "carry on" and keep on praying.

Marilyn

Carol I have a Breadman bread maker. The only thing I don't like about it is the fact that the loaf is upright with the paddle hole in the  middle zt the bottom. I always just make the dough then take it out and do the rest in the oven.

Janet

Hello!!  I have had a terrible time finding my way in here again!  For some reason it flipped back several years, and everything I tried got me even more lost!  Then I finally saw October 2020, and read my way up to date.  Whew!  I feel like I have done a day's work!  ;)

We are doing well here.  Daughter, Son in law and granddaughter all tested positive for the stupid virus, but they haven't been sick, just fatigued.  My 86 year old brother has recovered from it, and his daughter brought him home to live with her... life surely has lots of changes for us as we get older, doesn't it?

Our church was instructed by the bishop (Methodist) to close again, and we aren't at all happy about that.  I don't believe anyone would get the virus by attending church!  God still protects His own.  Anyway, on Wednesday night we are having a dinner and packing shoebox gifts for Samaritan's Purse.  So we do have that to anticipate.

Marilyn, it's good to have family who want to see that we are taken care of, such a blessing.  I'm so glad we have a daughter only 30 miles away.  She is super busy, but always manages to help us when we really need her.  Thank You, God, for daughters!  (And sons, of course.)

If you need truth and encouragement, I recommend you read Mario Marillo's blog.  (Mario Marillo.org)  He tells it like it is and doesn't mince words.  He is in California, so he really knows the worst of what is happening. He's an on-fire evangelist!  I also really love Lance Wallnau.  So I spend my time listening to these guys and several others, and do not watch the FAKE NEWS.  :)

We puppy sat the other day.  The girl from next door came over with her 2 months old puppy, needing someone to keep her while she went shopping with a friend.  Our little dogs really enjoyed her. Well, today, she came over to visit them!  There is a hole in the corner of their fence, and our dogs often go over there, but this is the first time Lola puppy has come over here to visit!

I need to go visit my bestie.  Her husband has gone to Houston to see his kids, and she needs to see me!  Just joking, we always enjoy our visits.  I'm going to pick up a couple of doughnuts to share with our coffee!  :coffee:  :coffee:

I hope I don't get lost again.  Really good to "see" you all today!!
