Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

Let the year be given to God in its every moment!.

Chris Saunders

"You believe that there is one God, you do well, the devil's also believe and tremble." James 2.
But faith without works is dead.
Many, many people believe that there is a God, what they imagine Him to be like is a multifaceted answer. Many especially elderly people believe in the old Sunday school teaching of the God of Israel
and the Saviour Jesus Christ, but that's it, they believe He exists, but at a distance, a very unknown Personage, a distant Being, not personal.  Easter often sees a good turnout of the elderly sometimes with their families, but you cannot have a conversation about Jesus Christ as Lord with them, they have not got that far, and life is fading, soon it will be too late, 60, 70 years or more of knowing Christ at a distance, the very devil's tremble at the Name of Jesus Christ.
Young people, middle aged folks, busy lives full of making a living, always buying this that or the next thing, jobs, holidays, bringing up kids,
soon they shall be the old folks keeping God at a distance.
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, that was His purpose, to destroy the power that sin had over us, and everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.  But although devils fear and tremble men and women do not, and so leave this world for a terrible judgement.
It's not too late!

JudyB

I am so sorry that this is so late.  I have no excuse.  However that is on me.  Or is it?  I saw Chris Saunders devotional today and it was an immediate, "This is it!"

Have you ever had that? Waiting for something and not knowing what till you say with excitement in your soul, "This is it!"
I pray this devotional heals you as it healed me.

When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder
(Click to hear music)

When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound, and time shall be no more,
And the morning breaks, eternal, bright and fair;
When the saved of earth shall gather over on the other shore,
And the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there.

Refrain

When the roll, is called up yon-der,
When the roll, is called up yon-der,
When the roll, is called up yon-der,
When the roll is called up yonder I'll be there.

On that bright and cloudless morning when the dead in Christ shall rise,
And the glory of His resurrection share;
When His chosen ones shall gather to their home beyond the skies,
And the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there.

Refrain

Let us labor for the Master from the dawn till setting sun,
Let us talk of all His wondrous love and care;
Then when all of life is over, and our work on earth is done,
And the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there.

Refrain

I am literally crying emotional tears with happiness...my doorbell rang and a lady from the charity " Small Acts of Kindness " was standing there with a large canvas bag absolutely full of stuff, the bag is heavy and i have not looked inside it yet, so it will be a pleasant surprise, sure it wll be a mixture of foods and books etc etc....She told me she had another 20 homes to deliver to...Not sure how they got my name to add to this years Christmas home delivery as i had one last year when i was living 140 plus miles away from where i am living now....God is truly wonderful, He knows what we need, and he gives us what we need, and not, what we want...Good things happen when we least expect it...and somebody up above is taking good care of me...

Canvas bag was full to the top...now opened to find warm hat-gloves-fleece blanket, sachet's teas-coffees-chocolate, playing cards, Christmas cards, they have thought about everything for our coming cold winter days ahead...I am drinking a mug of hot chocolate now as i type..

I have often wondered about Janet myself, Every month or so I see her make a post on Facebook.

A week ago tomorrow I fell taking the dogs out for potty at night. I missed the bottom step and went down. I injured my left foot and ankle. At first I though something was broken however, it seems to be a very bad sprain.

I managed to get a pair of shoes on over the Ace bandage on Sumday to go to church. I was supposed to go to Music practice but there was no way I could stand on that foot to sing for 45 minuted. I was at practice but sang from the front row sitting down.

I managed to take the dogs for 1 walk yesterday and attempted to take them for 2 today. I didn't make it very far on the second walk,

We are having Thanksgiving at my house this year, this is the first time ever. There will be 15 family member and it will be potluck. All that waas requested of me was by Gilbert (my son) to make my grandmother's apple cake. My place is pretty small for all the people but I am so happy that I moved back to California and am near so much family. My DIL's two sons and her mother will also be included

So I will wish all who enter this forum a very Blessed Thanksgiving day.(Jackie and Judy isn't yours on a different day)
s.
I know th holiday is not the same in  the UK and Canada.

t is good to be back again - sure cannot figure  why I have been not able to get in here sometimes.  Well, I am late but here.  We had to drive through awful Denver traffic for Don's appointment with the veterans doctor.

Thanksgiving is at my house  It does not look like much snow this year. With all the fire damage in the hills, skiing will be iffy as well.

Judy - thank you for keeping this little spot of sunshine open - take care.

Jane Walker

I'm here, too!  :) I will be on my own, as usual, for Thanksgiving Day, but there are family traditions I still keep and observe.  I will watch the Thanksgiving Day Parade on TV, and the National Dog Show that follows while making myself a meal that includes cranberry sauce and dressing (okay so it's Stovetop Stuffing mix) and pumpkin pie (this time it's sweet potato pie, tho) Later in the day I'll probably have a glass of wine, another piece of pie or maybe some popcorn while I watch something on Netflix.  I'd love to be with my family but they are all busy with their own bunch and in another state so that can't happen.  I'll probably make a couple phone calls and my daughter might call, but it will be later in the evening because she'll forget earlier.  :yakyakyak:

It seems the more time I spend alone the harder it is for me to connect with the "outside world"  I only go out for groceries (which I order online and drive to the store for pickup) or doctor appointments.  There just doesn't seem to be any reason for anything else and I don't mind being home alone.

That's my story ... and I do want to wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving Day and every day wherever you may be located.  Enjoy each moment you are in good health and surrounded with love. :ppie:
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

I occasionally get an email from Don. I say occasionally as in 1 or 2 times a year.
I haven't heard from Janet in forever. I will try and contact her some other way.
John will be home in the wee hours of the morning, along with Doug.  I was totally surprised yesterday when our sweet Liz came in with Piper. I didn't know she was coming down, and wow we have had some wonderful time together. We were supposed to go in to North Bay to pick up my new glasses..... The weather has turned, we have had rain all day and when I left for my afternoon run there was fog on the river. By the time I came home the fog was spreading.  We expect snow tonight..... The past has taught me that the weather determines my actions this time of year.  We stayed home to avoid trouble.....

God has been so good to us, His Son, dying for our salvation and rising again. Jesus rising again tells us that in him there is only good news beyond the grave.  We need to judge ourselves, whether he is LORD or just a good man that once lived.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Carol

We had Thanksgiving dinner here with turkey and all the trimmings.  3 of the four children were able to come and we chatted with eldest son.  Always grateful.

It has taken me almost an hour to fix a message sending to my doctor.  My prescription is always mailed and for some reason the doctor's office failed to continue it so I sent an email (they will read on Monday).. First ever mistake they made so I cannot complain.

I sent an email to the sheriff and there is no reply after one week.  I know they are swamped but something has to be done here before these teenagers crash and make they stop racing.  They should be taken to the morgue to see a body. Our children went through a confirmation where the pastor always brought the teens to the morgue and showed them what a carelessness driver could do  - A very strong message on life.

The turkey turned out perfect. I searched the internet to find the exact timing and all went well.

Judy:  I often think of what the average person's view on Our Savior can be - most often, they pray only when there is a crisis.  But, that is not for me to judge  - we don't always know what is in their heart.

Almost Christmas - We miss going to the actual church but this too shall pass.

JudyB

I Sent Janet an Email, and have had no response.
I believe I have her phone number somewhere, I will see if I can find it.

We have snow, Friday was another snow day.... It gave us time to rest. completer jobs, and head in to North Bay for some shopping.  Busy but nice as John was home!!!

Life is busy as we have our family Christmas on the 11th of December!  2 weeks later is Christmas day.

Here is one of my favourite songs featuring David Phelps..

Carol

Good Day all!  It is so warm here in Colorado - very serious hot weather is taking a toll on the normal temperatures expected.  There is an extreme lack of snow (moisture) so fire danger is high and it certainly is hard on the wildlife.  Praying for moisture.

Judy:  I hope we hear from Janet too.
