Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Greetings Janet  This virus is causing problems all over the world.  There are over half a million people who have lost their lives. Politicians usually are lay people and I would rather listen to the scientists and clinicians.  Ellie

Greetings Carol  You were near with Big Government, but it was the Russian Revolution of 1917.  That was a splendid surprise visit with the two young deer.  Did you take ant photos of them?  Enjoy your Daughters visit tomorrow and seeing her new dog.  We went out a few days ago for a Cream Tea, it was splendid!  Ellie

Janet

We just watched the movie "Animal Farm," can't say I cared for it.

Carol, how lovely to have the wildlife close enough to enjoy!  (Except those Javalinas!)

Our 39th anniversary was yesterday.  We went to Hugoton last night and ate at Bonnie & Clyde's.  Its a new restaurant that just recently opened, and yes, is named for the outlaws, who are said to have hid out in Hugoton for a few weeks just before their final crime spree in which they were both killed.  Their menus had the stories, and some pictures; and their pictures are on the walls, too.  Best thing was, it was a wonderful meal, and Diane and Jeff joined us!

I have most of my fair entries ready to go; am just sticking to art this year.  I usually enter a lot of other things too.

Where are Marilyn, Judy, Jackie, Ellie and the others?

... I am here, thank you for missing me...although i often come in to read, catch-up on your lives but have nothing of myself to add apart from dealing with my worsening MS...I am in the process of getting something organised that is risky, maybe stupid, or the best thing i ever done by taking a gamble...I will explain more at a later date..All i know is i need to be amongst people, I need to feel safe..

Greetings Janet   Happy Anniversary wishes, sorry I am a day late.  Was it a splendid meal at Bonnie and Clyde's.  There was a super song by Georgie Fame and the Blue Flames called the Ballad of Bonnie and Clyde, well worth listening to.  I have not seen the film about Animal Farm, though I have read the superb 1945 book by George Orwell.  Many times a film does not reflect what the author was trying to say.   Ellie

Greetings Jackie   Splendid to see your post today.  Are you contemplating moving?   Ellie

Please listen often to the above song.  It brings me to tears every time I hear it.  No matter how tough the battle Press On!

We have had some wild storms here, one tree on our property was struck by lightening, and we need to take it down.  yesterday there was a terrific storm, hydro was taken out in North Bay, trees were down, there was considerable property damage.  John and I drove Elizabeth to work as saw a trampoline stuck up in a tree!

I took a video of the lake, when we picked Elizabeth up, and shared it on FB.  Jf you have FB you can see it here. Nipissing is normally a very quiet lake not often this many waves....

I have sheets to wash and cherries to pit and freeze so I must be going!

Greetings Everyone   A splendid weather day here on the Island.  And I am not long back from an evening out in the Islands capital Douglas.  I don't like leaving hubby, but it was his idea  :)  I even put on my glad rags for a night on the town.  Most certainly glad rags is a universal saying, in London it means out best clothes.   Ellie

Janet

Ellie, I hadn't heard the expression glad rags since Hector was a pup! (Another really old saying!!)

Jackie, I do hope your plans work out. And I really understand your need to be around people.  I am that way, as well.  So let us in on your plans when you are ready; we can join with you in prayer about them.

Judy, that was a nice video!  Looked cold, but seeing the people in it tells me it wasn't a cold day.

I saw my chiropractor this morning; have another appointment next Monday.   It had been months since I had gone, and really needed a tune-up!

Yes, our dinner at Bonnie and Clyde's was very tasty!  I'm sure we will be returning there.

Darrel is cooking, and something is smelling really good!  Guess I need to go see if he needs my help.   ;)

Janet...
... thank you, yes i will do, just dont want to say too much at the moment in-case it jeopardises it...
...but yes, my PP-MS is getting worse, and my safety, isolation, and loneliness, has become paramount in my decision, although i am fully aware, at this present time it is very risky, maybe idiotic, but a gamble i am going to take that with Gods help, will pay off, turn out to be the best decision i have ever made..God willing...
To be honest this needs to be done now, while i still can do it, my failing MS body...and believe you me i have been struggling with everything that needs doing leading up to this, times i have prayed for strength to carry on, times i have wanted to give up, and for my life to just end, to be taken, and be with my hubby, and literally since the day i found him dead, i have not had one day of not crying - going to pieces......I have one motive for doing all this, is to prepare for my ending as and when back home, and to be back with my hubby - my partner, back home, and to get the three dogs ashes back home, that's where " our family " all belong....a sort of bucket list...

Ellie...
... oh yes i am familiar with the term, get your " glad rags " on, getting dolled up...

Edited: to add from above post..." basically i have no fight left in.." everything, everybody that ever meant anything to me has left me, even some furniture possessions now have to go, but i will hang onto the stuff - furniture that means the most, i will not part with it, it holds the memories of when we first bought them to set up our forever home...my life i once had, shared with my beloved and my-our three darling loves of my life, dogs...I am now just planning ahead the day we five are all re-united, oh the kisses, the hugs - cuddles, humans and dogs, and the three happy to see me - us waggy tails...I cant be with them down here but i can be with them up above, God willing...but right now i have gone past caring as to whether i live or die...it is in the capable hands of our God, as He still has plans for me, for us, even if we have no idea as to what these plans are, we are still left here for a purpose, whether we want to be here or not....

Edited to add...wishing you an enjoyable day Jane Walker as i can see your name showing as in, at the bottom of the page...

Believe you me, if one thing i have found - learnt, over these past 15 months is " life really is like a jigsaw puzzle " there will be plenty of ups and downs, highs and lows, disappointments but, all pieces will fall into place when God says it is ready, not us, we cant push things before God says it is ready....God really is in control...Remember, He gives us what we need, not what we want...
I still look back over these past 15 months and marvel at how i have gotten through them, still have some journey to go, i am not out of the woods yet but, all pieces of the jigsaw puzzle are slowly piecing together, In Gods time not mine..
And if or when we give up, " we have no fight left in us carrying on, " lean on God...

There is still a crafty critter outdoors that can eat the food and not trip the trap door.  This afternoon there is a hard hail advisory for the northern part of the city of Denver - not mentioning the southern area we live in - just outside Denver limits.  Don helped me bring my sewing machine in and I was surprised that a little hook in back had broken off - I hope they can fix it without breaking the bank.

Judy:  Thanks always for the beautiful music. -----there is a small city in the state of Washington named Selah.

I really appreciate the young people producing this wonderful music to sooth any fears and keep us on track.

We just had an Air Force flyover - it happens frequently because the Air Force Academy is south of us and the boys and girls too have to practice somewhere.  To me, it is the sound of freedom.

Someone mentioned earthquakes.  I have been in some big shakers - since I lived many years in Seattle.  Where is this pattern of late.

Greetings Everyone  Now there is something, not one but two times out enjoying myself in two days.  This time to another part of our splendid Island.  Though hubby cannot do a lot, he has made me realise I need to have time to enjoy myself.  And he even managed today to make me a cup of tea for when I returned home.  And that is a huge task for him to attempt.   Sweet man he is.   Ellie

Carol

Ellie: Taking time to refresh your thoughts by going outdoors is important so I am glad that you are enjoying a little time outdoors.  It sounds like you have a sweet husband!

Jackie:  Good for you as well - charting a new course in life changing decisions.

Judy:  You are so thoughtful in making all this pleasant music available.  Every little distraction is so good for our health - both mental and physical.

Janet: Any little distraction is so nice - good for you to get out and relax and have someone cook your meal.  I hope these afternoon storms are not ruining your area.

I have to make a doctor appointment and was told there is no opening until December if not critical.  These poor health workers are overwhelmed with cases plus people want to move here.  It sure makes it hard on the elderly - This morning, I made a mistake and showed up one day early for the groceries ordered online.  Well, I did not go to the very last page online and thought everything was in order but I am fortunate I can pick up tomorrow - including new needles for my very old Singer Featherweight.  It is the black one made in the 20's or 30's.  It goes clickity click and I like the sound as it reminds  me of both grandmas.  I still have a quilt by grandma Lily May.

Rebot

Greetings  Carol  I remember the old singer sewing machines.  I noticed on ebay this splendid 1897 model and it was selling for £395.  Your right Carol, hubby is a sweet husband and a caring man.  Even though he has other medical conditions, the autoimmune condition he has, sees him with limited mobility and chronic pain. He hardly ever complains, sweet sweet man.  Ellie

Carol..
...yes hang onto the items that have a meaning...I am having to possibly get rid of expensive items that cost a lot of money and only bought recently, and i will only hang onto the ( many much cheaper ) items that hold fond memories and have a meaning for me...such as items we bought when we had set up our forever home...these are the items i shan't part with, doesn't matter if it was cheap compared to other less meaningful items i am more than happy to let go of...You hang onto your Singer...we also had one in our house when i was a young child, think it was my grans, then my mothers, i lost my mother when age 26, lost my gran age 11...

Greetings Everyone  When I moved from the UK to the Island, quite a big move as overseas in a way, with a seventy mile sea crossing.  And we could not take much with us. Splendid that I  could give some to family and we even helped a young couple that needed furniture by giving them some nearly new furniture.  And when we arrived on the Island, we had to basically start again with setting up the home.   Ellie

Marilyn

Hello everyone"I have been here every day to read or to see the videos. A   Nurse Practitioner from our insurance, called us this morning as they do once a year to go over our medications and ask questions, get updated on  our health.

We will be going to our regular Friday night dinner at the Mexican place in the mall. We go at 4pm and there are hardly anyone there at the same time, perhaps sometimes about 8-10 people in the whole place.. Keith's friend who live in Alaska is in town and he anbd his wife will be joining us this evening.

Somehow,I lean to the color purple while setting up this printing.   ;)

A group of five wonderful friends celebrated a birthday on a deck yesterday.  Four  are widows and one (a pastor's wife) - her husband is on Hospice care after being very ill for years.  They all are my strong in prayer friends and I feel so fortunate to know them.

My job today is to search for a credit card - oh, where can it be?  Still no racoon in the outdoor trap even though I put marshmallows in the dish.  Someone said they are tempted by the odor of marshmallows.  So am I   :)

Rebot

Greetings Everyone   Not the weather here for sitting out here, overcast and the top temperature of 64F.  A day in the house and emails to send.   Ellie

Carol after you have searched high and low in the most popular of places which it could be, try looking inside the fridge, it has worked for me in the past...Joking aside, mislaying a credit card is no joke...As long as you are sure it got mislaid in your home, it will turn up in the most strangest place sooner or later and when you least expect to find it, more of a worry if it may have gone astray from outside your home...

If your racoon doesn't eat that marshmallow, then i will..

Well, Fair Week here in Grant County is over for another year!  The final part of my job is going out, taking down the art show, putting each person's entries in a pile and waiting for them to pick them up.  It seems the art entries are always the last ones people come to get!  So my helper and I enjoyed a nice visit; then when time was up, moved remaining items in to another room.  I was pleasantly surprised when I picked up my premium money to see that I won a total of $130.   ;)

Carol, I sure hope you find the credit card.  Those things are so unsettling; and then we sometimes find them in the first place we looked.  Not sure why that happens!

I was so busy out at the fair this week, and of all times for it to happen, we had a leak in the main water line between the well and the house, so were without water for two days.  So hot, and so hard to find the problem!!  Tried to find someone who has a backhoe to dig, they were all busy, but one offered to come dig it up by hand, which he and his help did.  I'm afraid to see what that will cost, but we have to have water!

So  today I have to sweep and mop up a lot of mud in the garage that Darrel and the dogs tracked in.  Always something!

I went to the rodeo last night, and there wasn't one mask in sight in that huge crowd!  The bleachers were packed--no social distancing there!  It felt like "Old times!"  I was truly shocked at the size of the crowd!

I still have a lot to do, best get at it!  Then a nap is in order I think!

Blessings to each of you!

Greetings Carol  You are in my thoughts, for you to find your credit card.  I have mislaid mine in the past.  When it went past a day unfound, I stopped it via the bank.   Ellie

Carol, I know this is the obvious but, think hard where you have been outside since last time you saw your card, and do stop it with your bank if you feel it was lost outside rather than inside your home, a replacement will soon be on its way to you...

I am sure you have prayed to God, to guide you to where it is...
