I would like to thank Chris Saunders for the devotionals I have been able to share.

"The wind blows wherever it desires, and you hear the sound of it, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it goes, so is everyone who is born of the Spirit ."How can these things be?" John 3.
The True Believer is a free man, Christ His Redeemer has freed him from the slavery of sin, from dead religion, from fables and superstition, he is free to be a servant of the Most High God.  Nicodemus had no idea of this, being still a fleshly Jew, under all the law of Moses and all the other impositions of the Rabbis.
That is what most of the world are like, they have no idea of the wonderful freedom in Christ that Christians enjoy. We are bound by nothing, the world holds nothing for and soul.. Then you can begin to really live and love.us , we come and go as Jesus Christ directs. He is lord of our lives.
If the Son sets you free you are free indeed, but no one can know this from the outside, you must come to Christ admitting your poverty of spirit, let Him cleanse your heart

MASTER, THE TEMPEST IS RAGING
(Click to hear music)

Master, the tempest is raging!
The billows are tossing high!
The sky is o'ershadowed with blackness,
No shelter or help is nigh;
Carest Thou not that we perish?
How canst Thou lie asleep,
When each moment so madly is threatening
A grave in the angry deep?

Refrain
The winds and the waves obey Thy will,
Peace, be still!
Whether the wrath of the storm tossed sea,
Or demons or men, or whatever it be
No waters can swallow the ship where lies
The Master of ocean, and earth, and skies;
They all shall sweetly obey Thy will,
Peace, be still! Peace, be still!
They all shall sweetly obey Thy will,
Peace, peace, be still!

Master, with anguish of spirit
I bow in my grief today;
The depths of my sad heart are troubled
Oh, waken and save, I pray!
Torrents of sin and of anguish
Sweep o'er my sinking soul;
And I perish! I perish! dear Master
Oh, hasten, and take control.

Refrain

Master, the terror is over,
The elements sweetly rest;
Earth's sun in the calm lake is mirrored,
And heaven's within my breast;
Linger, O blessed Redeemer!
Leave me alone no more;
And with joy I shall make the blest harbor,
And rest on the blissful shore.

Refrain

Thank you for the beautiful link to Crescendo. What a treat! Also, thank you for posting the encouraging words of Master, The Tempest is Raging. It is definitely a needed reminder right now. The devotional was also a perfect reminder. Hope you (and everyone here) are well; and hope you're all seeing signs of spring (rebirth and hope).

Hello all,

I've been MIA for a while, so not sure who knows who I am anymore, and I'm not sure who I know anymore. Please say "Hello!" if you remember me. I am still in touch with Judy B; she has been so nice as to keep in touch as well as comment, like and even share my images through my Facebook business page.

I suppose I should introduce myself again as if I am new since it's been so long.  I love Jesus, my redeemer! I am a 54 year old woman and wife of a wonderful, Godly man (for 33 years as of March 18th).  I am the mother of 2 grown daughters; both single with no children. My husband and I have a little Pomeranian mix dog named Murray that we adopted 9 years ago when he was 3 or 4.  He makes us laugh and has been with me through some very difficult times.  He is having some dementia though and his anxiety is worsening with age as well, but is a pretty happy pup most of the time.

As for hobbies, I enjoy calligraphy, rubber stamping, doodling, bullet journaling, creative journaling and painting. (I am probably forgetting something) I also sing and play guitar, but am a little rusty at both of those right now.

Oh, did I mention that I love photography?  Well, I do!  It's my job and I love it! I love landscape and nature photography (birds & wildlife, flowers & trees), but I also love still life and stock photography.  I am not so much into shooting portraits or events (although I have done several and one wedding), but I do like to capture candid moments of family and church gatherings and I do take the occasional portrait for family or close friends.  I am enjoying photography more than ever after having gone legally blind and then had both of my corneas replaced in 2013, due to a corneal disease called Fuch's Endothelial Dystrophy.  I'm so thankful to the donor families who made my new eyesight possible.  What a blessing, what a special gift and I am humbled by it.  I'm also thankful to my talented surgeon, Dr. Mark Terry of Portland, Oregon.

My husband and I are going to the Grand Tetons this weekend for our 33rd wedding anniversary. Due to this, I may not reply to any responses here until next week.  I hope to hear about some of you.  Maybe we will become new friends!  :thumbsup: We will return home, to Idaho, on Tuesday.  I hope you all have a great weekend and may God bless you all!

Blessings, Kathleen

Hi Marilynn! I was just thinking of you yesterday afternoon, and I prayed for you. I was wondering how you've been doing. So glad you replied. Keep me (us) updated over this next year with the specialist. I really hope they are able to provide some options for you. I also hope your nails turn out beautifully. It may be vain, but I love my nails or toenails done - when everything around me is chaotic, I look at them and feel at least something is in order on me. Lol! I've never gotten a professional manicure though. I JUST got finished painting my toes while reading your reply. The weather is finally warming up around here; so sandal weather is on its way. I hope you enjoy yourself on your day to yourself. I'm praying for you, Marilynn! Thank you for replying!

Hello Kathleen (shutterbugmom)! So nice to meet you! I am relatively new here (about 6 months old or so). So what do you do as a photography for a job? I took classes with the New York Institute of Photography 3 years ago. The business class was fairly intense, and pretty much required starting a business; so no time like the present except the present at that time was the beginning of covid so everything shut down as I opened. Lol! It's been a slow trudge these few years to get things moving; but in the meantime, I spend everyday learning something no matter how small it is due to lack of time. I look forward to hearing from you in the future - and learning whatever you have to share. Hope you enjoy your trip to the Grand Tetons, and you both have a wonderful anniversary - Congratulations on 33 years!

Your Friend,
Jenny    S:o)

Marilyn, hope Freckles enjoys her "spa" session. Also, so glad you got a new tablet that's easy on your eyes. Hope all else is well with you and your husband.

Hope everyone else is having a great start to springtime.

Hello Marilyn! Will Keith drink water if you offer it to him or does he refuse it? That's hard because of the risk of dehydration. I'm interested in knowing how your cookies went with the coconut flour and stevia? How did Keith enjoy them?

Friday was my Mom's 80th birthday! Last year at this time she had had a stroke then a heart attack the next morning. She survived and this year is 80! All the family had a wonderful Zoom visit with her yesterday.

Hope all is well with everyone!

Good, Good Friday afternoon.

  This has been a difficult time for me.  I had another fall and hurt my back again.  The frost is coming out of our roads so there is a lot of bumping and back stress with the school bus I drive..  Yesterday I had a tooth out and thankfully it is causing a lot less pain than before.

John is running back and forth to LA California, a trip every week.  We had our wood furnace give up the ghost in January and wound up paying $1000 a month for fuel oil. Life is interesting, and it is wonderful to see how God provides.  Without the job we would have had a real crisis on our hands. Thankful for the provision of a job.

Talking about provision We have a way to the Father we to the provision of the Son, who died for us and gave His life for us.

I will start a new month in May, we are better than 1/2 way through April.  Sorry that I haven't been here, I promise to do better.

Hello Marilyn! Here for a little while, but I just did a maternity shoot and have to edit 30 photos! The most a client has ever purchased. Can't complain about that. Hope all is well there. Are you getting any bad weather? I keep seeing bad weather passing through from your side of the country.

From Chris Saunders

"Go up to the feast, I am not going up yet, my time has not yet come, but when His brethren were gone up He went up also but in secret." John 7.
Jesus did not want to go to the feast with His brethren in the flesh but with His disciples, if the Jewish leaders had attacked his family , the brothers would not have known what to say, or how to defend Jesus or  themselves scripturally, If the leaders had asked Jesus's half brothers if they thought that He was the Chosen One, what would they have said.. yes.. and probably been stoned.. no.. and divided the family? No.. our wise God as ever let them go up alone for their own safety, He had His mother to protect too.
It would have been chaos as the leaders were out to kill Him and He wished to save His brethren from all this, His life was ordained by the Father not his family, no one can ever tell Christ what to do,  nor could anyone take His life from Him before the allotted time, and that is the same today, we can but ask and pray, as  God knows best.
At the feast they were all looking for Him and taking sides against Him, it was going to be very difficult now, this was the last thing our Saviour wanted. No man spoke openly in His favour for fear of the Jewish leaders. We might be tested today. Stand firm.

Hi Marilyn! How was your Easter? How about everyone else here - how was everyone's Easter? We were supposed to have a morning service, but it ended up much too cold. The indoor service was nice. I remember when my girls were young, always dressing them up in Easter dresses, but it seems like it's not a thing anymore to dress up special. After church, we went to John's brother's house for a turkey dinner. Had a nice walk with my sister-in-law talking about the changes happening in the world that are happening way too fast!! Hope you are all well!

What I am about to say won't be popular.

We go to a church where dress is casual.  There are people who dress to the 9's. However most are not.

Thing is people who are on a limited income cannot afford the clothes to dress to the 9"s.. My son in law wears clean jeans, and a clean T shirt, as does Heather. There are so many who need the message who cannot "keep up" with the Jones's.  They need to feel welcomed with no judgement on how they are dressed.

I went to an inner city church as a child and teen.  All of the people who were my age came from "well to do" families.  They had all the modern dresses and suits, which my family could not afford. There were very few from the inner city came to church.  I dutifully went to church every Sunday and weekday meetings.  It was expected.  However having said that my thoughts were not on the teachings, they were on how I wished I could have the "things" they had. Yes this was jealousy and envy and covetousness.

Now when I go to church it is not in "Sunday best" it is in comfortable clothing that is ordinary street wear.  I can talk to those folks who cannot afford the "Sunday best" with no fear of jealously or covetousness.  I really appreciate the example set by our leadership.

Something to remember: back in Bible times through to pioneer days people dressed in their weekday work clothes, they often didn't have a second set of clothes, they would wear what they had. Same applies today.

My church is also very casual.and a small congregation. The pastor wears jeans and a flannel shirt many times.. We are a smal group of caring people. our church was a rund down place 3 years ago. the pastor, and a couple of other people have worked hard to get it in shape and there is still work o be done.

Yes my Baptist church is very casual in dress, even our ministers both male and female wear casual clothes, one male does wear jeans and tee-shirt...Our congregation are a mixture in dress code, some dress smartly, men in a smarter trouser and jumper some jackets and the odd male in a suit...the females in trousers-dresses or skirts...

My daughter, Heather, went to Pat's church once.  She was wearing clean pressed slacks and a clean top along with a sweater.  Heather was introduced to the pastor, he welcomed her then said perhaps the next time you come you can dress properly. She never went back.
This is the mentality that I see in so many churches.

We have had varying weather here.  This is northern Ontario.... Rain, snow, sunshine, clouds, warm and icy cold.  All in one week. Tomorrow is rain and 41F Sunday will be +68F with sun.... There seems to be no consistency.  Last year we lost 90% of our garden due to rain... The produce rotted in the ground.  This year we could have the opposite, drought conditions.  It is crazy.

John will be home on Sunday.  He has made the decision that he will stay home till the next week, and get some of the stuff done that have been left "till the next trip home"!

I am hoping we get enough dry weather to get the garden tilled.  This year we are not planting as many beans or carrots.... I have been buying carrots in bulk, 5 to 10 pounds at a time.  We have the multi coloured carrots and a different Zucchini, it is round! Also there is a pole bean that produces 2 foot long pods All very interesting.
Liz, Doug's wife has ordered sugar beats, with the plan to make them into sugar! She has so many wonderful ideas, and had turned Doug into "his style" of gardening.  Did you know you ca turn Zucchini into flour?  I didn't till he sent me the link!
Did you know you can make a syrup from birch sap? Heather is working on that making syrup from birch sap.  She collected enough to make the soap she is known for, for the next year 59 litres!  now she is collecting to boil down to syrup.  It is really different from Maple syrup, it has a nutty somewhat savoury/sweet taste.  It will be used for savoury dishes, especially beef and venison.
Jon, Heather's husband is working as a labourer with a roofing company.  Hard heavy work for a man about to turn 50.  He is feeling it, the weight of the shingles and climbing the ladder to take them to the men on the roof.  Keep him in prayer for strength and endurance. He is a solid Christian, who believes in prayer.

I have much to get done this weekend.  So I will close for now.  Thank you for the comments on dress.  God be with you and bless each of you.
Marilyn have heard from Janet?

Judy...how insulting of that Pastor...just the fact that she was there should have been enough...

Good to hear from you Judy. If a pastor said that to me I wouldn't go back either.

It sounds like you will be very busy.

It is so hard to watch Keith  go downhill these days. Every mrning I go into his room to see if he is still alive. I feel like some morning he won't be. All I can do is pray a lot for hnm and try to get him to eat, which is very difficult.

"When Jesus lifted Himself up and saw nobody but the woman, He said to her, woman where are your accusers, has no man condemned you?
She said, no man Lord, and Jesus said unto her, neither do I condemn you, go, and sin no more." John 8.
Jesus had shamed the Pharisees once again, angry and frustrated they were at home gnashing their teeth against Him. But here was the woman awaiting Jesus verdict, she would know that she was not going to be stoned but what was to happen to her..  I imagine she would still be shaking with fear as she lay there, Jesus had just proved a scripture that was not even yet written.. Romans ch.3 v 10...There is none righteous, no not one.. including the woman, but what to do with her, I'm sure there was a mixture of relief and fear, and gratitude when she heard his words, He was not condemning her, but she must change her ways. She was forgiven, but it couldn't go on, she had had a narrow escape, if they had not used her to tempt Jesus she would now be under a pile of stones. When we are delivered from a sin we must stay away from that temptation.
Jesus is all compassion and knows all our sins, that is why He came, to offer Himself in our place, to take the punishment that we deserve, if there is a weight on your heart and mind at the moment, then come to Him, get it out before Him, He is not going to stone you,
But will abundantly pardon.
Trust me, I've been there.
