Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Hark the Herald Angels Sing
(Click to hear music)

A great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, saying,
"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests."
Luke 2:13-14

Words: Charles Wesley, Hymns and Sacred Poems, 1739

Music:Music: "Mendelssohn," Felix Mendelssohn, in his cantata Festgesang, 1840, honoring printer Johann Gutenberg; arranged by William H. Cummings in Congregational Hymn and Tune Book, by R. R. Chope, 1857

Hark! The herald angels sing,
"Glory to the newborn King;
Peace on earth, and mercy mild,
God and sinners reconciled!"
Joyful, all ye nations rise,
Join the triumph of the skies;
With th'angelic host proclaim,
"Christ is born in Bethlehem!"

Refrain
Hark! the herald angels sing,
"Glory to the newborn King!"

Christ, by highest heav'n adored;
Christ the everlasting Lord;
Late in time, behold Him come,
Offspring of a virgin's womb.
Veiled in flesh the Godhead see;
Hail th'incarnate Deity,
Pleased with us in flesh to dwell,
Jesus our Emmanuel.

Refrain

Hail the heav'nly Prince of Peace!
Hail the Sun of Righteousness!
Light and life to all He brings,
Ris'n with healing in His wings.
Mild He lays His glory by,
Born that man no more may die.
Born to raise the sons of earth,
Born to give them second birth.

Refrain

Come, Desire of nations, come,
Fix in us Thy humble home;
Rise, the woman's conqu'ring Seed,
Bruise in us the serpent's head.
Now display Thy saving power,
Ruined nature now restore;
Now in mystic union join
Thine to ours, and ours to Thine.

Refrain

Adam's likeness, Lord, efface,
Stamp Thine image in its place:
Second Adam from above,
Reinstate us in Thy love.
Let us Thee, though lost, regain,
Thee, the Life, the inner man:
O, to all Thyself impart,
Formed in each believing heart.

Refrain

Here is Charles Wesley's original version:

Hark, how all the welkin rings,
"Glory to the King of kings;
Peace on earth, and mercy mild,
God and sinners reconciled!"

Joyful, all ye nations, rise,
Join the triumph of the skies;
Universal nature say,
"Christ the Lord is born to-day!"

Christ, by highest Heaven ador'd,
Christ, the everlasting Lord:
Late in time behold him come,
Offspring of a Virgin?s womb!

Veiled in flesh, the Godhead see,
Hail the incarnate deity!
Pleased as man with men to appear,
Jesus! Our Immanuel here!

Hail, the heavenly Prince of Peace!
Hail, the Sun of Righteousness!
Light and life to all he brings,
Risen with healing in his wings.

Mild He lays his glory by,
Born that man no more may die;
Born to raise the sons of earth;
Born to give them second birth.

Come, Desire of nations, come,
Fix in us thy humble home;
Rise, the woman's conquering seed,
Bruise in us the serpent's head.

Now display thy saving power,
Ruined nature now restore;
Now in mystic union join
Thine to ours, and ours to thine.

Adam's likeness, Lord, efface;
Stamp Thy image in its place.
Second Adam from above,
Reinstate us in thy love.

Let us Thee, though lost, regain,
Thee, the life, the inner Man:
O! to all thyself impart,
Form'd in each believing heart.

Marilyn, you know I can feel what you're feeling regarding your furbabies.  Poor Happy.  If he's snapping at you, he must be in pain.  Something instigated the fight, but you probably won't find that answer.   I pray Happy will be ok tomorrow.  Let me know how things go. ok?

I know I would be so upset if my two guys got into it like this.

Karen, what a beautiful family you have.  Are the boys always that still and well behaved? :)  In family pictures everyone looks like little angels.

I'm tired tonight.  I'll say goodnight and God bless.  Nita

ps: you posted the song while I was typing, Pat.  Now I'll have to sing along before I shut down.

Janet

It is so nice to read of all the Christmas programs and celebrations, and a little one slipping up to the front to be near her Daddy!  :)

Pat, I'm sorry the stinkers are trying to invade our space, and thanks for all you do to keep things clean for us.  <3  Love you!

Karen, I can't imagine just starting Christmas shopping for your family!!  You do have your hands full, lovely family you have there!

Thanks for the kind words regarding my fall.  I imagine I will be sore tomorrow, but just now I'm fine, except for bruised hands and knees.  Yes, Carol, it is the same knee/leg.  I know I did something to it in exercising, and maybe stretching a muscle was it.

We had a soup supper after church, and we aren't used to eating so late, so my stomach is complaining.  Sure was good soup, though.  I sampled chicken and noodles (not exactloy soup) Chili and potato soup, a spoonful of each.  ;)

See you tomorrow!!  Or, In Colin's case, pretty soon!  ^-^

Nita Happy could be laying quietly and Bebe will jump on him. He can be walking up to my side to be petted and she will snap at him. Just pray for his ear to heal and for her to not be so jealous.

Hi again Janet! :)

I hope you will recover quickly, especially in time for Christmas.

For the last 2-3 weeks I have been very ill and in bed, so that's why I couldn't get to my Christmas shopping. I'm just about better now. :) And there was a blessing or two in the midst of my sickness as I found CP while sitting up in bed with my laptop. LOL!

Nina, thank you so much for your kind and loving comments on my photos. As for my boys, for the whole they are VERY sweet and loving and an absolute delight to George and I. They do get very rowdy at times and O boy, do they eat a lot!!! :)

This is a very special site. Congratulations to you all, as this really is a safe haven and a place where He dwells.

Have a great day! :)

Jeannine

Good Morning All,

:o WOW Pat, it's such a shame people just don't care about what they do to others. So glad you caught them!

Morning Karen, nice to see someone else in here at this hour. Got a look at your site and those are awesome pictures.

Janet - you really should get that knee/leg checked out. Don't do like my dad and shrug it off, now he is having problems with his hip.

I see so many people have enjoyed their church Christmas programs, it must have/or will be truly a testimony to God.

Marilyn - hope your fur babies settle down and Happy can be happy again. I know what it's like to have them at each other like that. Fuzzy likes to get downstairs and torment my Keisha. :ticked: He weighs around 20 lbs. and she is maybe 10 lbs dripping wet.

Ok all, have a God filled and blessed day! See ya later, {{{{hugs}}}} to everyone!

Trusting,
<><Jeannine

Pat:  Thank you for the Christmas song!

Karen:  Sorry to read that you have been ill - it is good that you found CP as you will see more than a few people in here devoted to the Lord.

Marilyn:  That is too bad about your doggies - one always has to show he/she is the leader.  We have always had dogs until these later years but only one at a time.  It is easier.  Sure do miss having one now but this isn't the right place for having a fur friend.

Off for a mammogram this morning.  Tomorrow is my cataract surgery.  Don has a cortizone shot in his heel this morning.  Not happy that we had to have all this the week before Christmas but we will carry on.

ONE

One starry night; one blinding light
One message given long ago
One angel voicing; one host rejoicing
One revelation that shepherds were first to know

In the night air cold; good tidings told
Ringing from the realms of Heaven
What wondrous story; from eternal glory
A gift to sinners freely given

One stable stall; one baby small
One mother watching as He lay
One manger bed; one little head
One redeemer for sinners sleeping on the hay

But though just born; the sun of morn
Arose each day at His will
And the moon of night; give her light
For it was the Son of God lying quiet and still

One so young; one life begun
One hope He give to mankind
One cross for Him; one death so grim
One way to Calvary always on His mind

He became the least; in the home of beast
His throne exchanged for bed of straw
Jesus His name; and when the shepherds came
It was the King of kings who they saw

One I Am; one sacrificial Lamb
One mediator between God and man
One to know; one way to go
One door to Heaven in salvation's plan

From God in Heaven; this gift was given
He offers to you His precious Son
Wrapping paper on the floor; gifts galore
Yet you have nothing if you have not this One
