Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

Jesus and Zacchaeus
Luke 19:1-10 NLT

Jesus entered Jericho and made his way through the town.  There was a man there named Zacchaeus. He was the chief tax collector in the region, and he had become very rich.  He tried to get a look at Jesus, but he was too short to see over the crowd.  So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree beside the road, for Jesus was going to pass that way.

When Jesus came by, he looked up at Zacchaeus and called him by name. "Zacchaeus!" he said. "Quick, come down! I must be a guest in your home today."

Zacchaeus quickly climbed down and took Jesus to his house in great excitement and joy.  But the people were displeased. "He has gone to be the guest of a notorious sinner," they grumbled.

Meanwhile, Zacchaeus stood before the Lord and said, "I will give half my wealth to the poor, Lord, and if I have cheated people on their taxes, I will give them back four times as much!"

Jesus responded, "Salvation has come to this home today, for this man has shown himself to be a true son of Abraham.  For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost."

What personal physical characteristic has most affected how you feel about yourself?

Judging from the crowd's reaction to him, Zacchaeus must have been a very crooked tax collector.  But after he met Jesus, he realized that his life needed straightening out.

By giving to the poor and making restitution--with generous interest--to those he had cheated, Zacchaeus demonstrated inward change by outward action.

It is not enough to follow Jesus in your head or heart alone.  You must show your faith by changed behavior.  Has your faith resulted in action?  What changes do you need to make?

Iwondered about that Etta Sue

I will read your post when I post what I was doing on the previous page.

Larry About those Ice Roads.  They are really dangerous as you have said.  We have a friend who hires the drivers for northern Ontario.  John is intrigued at the job.  He is a talented driver and has hauled almost everything.  The only thing he hasent haulled is nuclear matter and biological waste.  He would like to take a winter and drive the ice fields.  I am saying "Go for it!"  It is something he would like to try for one season... We will see.

Pat and I had parents who had a love of nature.  Anything in creation was admired, explored and learned.  They were good at teraching us all to love nature.  I think that is seen in Pat's photography.

Kass is getting bored with the summer, getting restless for school to start.  So I have made a decision to start homeschooling next week.  They will be off for a week in August to camp but that will enhance what they are learning.

Etta sue I have sent my cats to a new home.  The dogs are enough and we have puppies due in August, around the 9th.

I have been paged so I am off running yet again.

Prayers to all, Jeannine I have been praying for you and yuor family.

JudyB

Etta Sue what a thought.  To show our faith we must show the inward by the outward behaviour.

Good thought.

Marilyn

Great Devotional Etta Sue.

For the next 10 days I will only be chiecking in her once per day. I feel like Jesus is telling me that I am not spending enough time with him.

Judy, We are starting our first year of homeschooling this year.  I have decided to start on Sept. 5.  Travis will be in kindergarten.  We are nervous and excited, both.  I thought about private school, but, well, let's just say no.  So, I considered one of the public schools where his cousins go.  I think he would enjoying parts of it, but in the end, I feel God has given me the gift of teaching, and the desire to teach, perhaps to educate my two.  :)

Kristi (who is still croupy) will be doing "pre-school" things while travis has school.

Marilyn, If Jesus tells you to get offline, by all means, do it.  The Internet is almost like a black hole.  It sucks our time right away from us.

Larry:  School in this area does not start until Sept. 4 although time does go fast we still have a while yet.

In a few days we will be headed north to a lodge for a whole week and then going north again for my husbands family reunion.  A member has gone home to the lord since the last one,  but we are looking forward to the visit with family.  Finding out both the good and bad news so to speak.

Before leaving on vacation I desire to get some fresh green beans  and have them in the freezer.  Along with the other little jobs we have only 4 days before we leave.

Got a MSN from my bil so will go until next time.

Etta Sue" Wonderful devotional and very much in line with Sunday's sermon.  I can always stand to do a faith check on myself.  Thank you for all of your Good Works.

Ruth:  Have a safe trip and good visit with everyone.

We set the timer to watch a new t.v. show -- I hope it is decent, very little is these days.

:)  God evening to all.  Well thankyou for the good devotional Etta Sue.  Our sermon this  Sunday was  on David's Giants. i

Its three headings were  Goliath the big Man.
                                    Saul the jealous King
                                    Bathsheba the Nude Woman

Pastor used 1 Samuel 17 and other scriptures and his message was very powerful.
I have read the postings and of course enjoyed them all I am a bit tired so I will not comment on them.

Jeannine:  Will be thinking of you and micheal and your husband at this very hard time. God bless.

Good Night to all. <3

Don is having a treadmill test this morning and this one is to check out if he really did have a silent heart attack about two years ago.  The office said that I didn't have to be there so I have planned some cleaning around here.

:D   Morning y'all,  I have been looking at homeschool materials on the internet this morning.  We will be starting school on Sept 4 also.  We also are opening a store next to our warehouse to sell the items we can't wholesale, but can retail, so I will be busy, busy, busy.

Still need prayer about church, but its getting some better.

Thanks,
Samantha :D

Etta Sue

Good morning.  I am all ready to head out again today.  Another doctor appointment.  This one is to see how my blood is that I gave last week.

I did find out that I have to have the scope for my larnyx every 6 weeks for a year.  If there are no growths, then every three months for awhile.  Then every 6 months.  And if no new growths for three years, then I don't have to have the scope again.  Just pray that my insurance holds out!!  Also if a growth is detected, then it is to be removed and I start the six week scope all over again.  I am tired just thinking about it.

I don't know if Ivalou is going with me today or not.  I told her to be ready at 9:30am.  If I see the whites of her eyes, then she is going.   ;D  Edit:  Ivalou just called.  She just got up so I will be going alone.  Saves me money by not eating out today.

Hi everyone.  I had thought I was going over to help a friend with her computer but she called this morning and said her doctor's office had called and could see her this morning so we will get together later.  It is a beautiful day her.  The yard was done yesterday afternoon and looks really nice today.  The housekeeper is here this morning so soon things will be spic and span again and we can mess things up again.  :)

I always look at my hometown newspaper on the web and noticed that two of my classmates, who were a year or two ahead of me in school, had died last week.  I have no idea of the reason and guess at this point that is sort of moot.

Etta Sue, at least you know of the routine you will have with the scoping and it is for your protection.  Live in today and enjoy it since usually what we worry about never comes to pass at least in the way we had thought.  God will take care of you.

Judy, have you seen the show about the ice truckers.  It is on the History channel for an hour each week.  Here it is shown on Sunday evening at 10 pm.  Those are very determined drivers that do that.

Marilyn, I agree with Karmat that you need to do what you feel God is directing you to do.  We will miss your frequent postings but know you will be back after your fasting period.

Hope everyone has a nice day.  I know I sure intend to do so.

karmat

Samantha,  I think in the recesses of my memory I remember, but for the life of me, I can't place it now.  What do ya'll sell?

Kristi goes to the dr. this afternoon.  I believe she has the croup.  She was fine until she went to bed, then she would cough, but had extreme difficulty inhaling.  It was a rough night until 3 or 4 this morning when she finally settled down.  Right now, she is lying in the floor next to me.  :(

Otherwise, everything else is pretty par for the course at our house.

Etta, sorry about the scopes.  I, for one, am glad they are not "finding" anything.  I know that many drs. appts is annoying though.

Everyone take care.

OH yea.  Special prayer request -- my preacher leaves tomorrow to go on a two week Indonesian mission trip. Please pray for him and the two other men with him.

Marilyn

I have been here to read all  your posts.  Prayers where needed.
Off the computer now.

Karmat, we sell salvage groceries, but they are getting scarce, so we have been branching out into other salvage items, such as health and beauty aids, and general merchandise..  Right now we are getting a lot of Target salvage and have been getting great results in the retail side.  We have an opportunity for more groceries but we need to go look at the reclaim center and its in....  Mocksville, NC,  (I think!)   Don't have time for a road trip right now.

Larry,  I had a lady coming in once a week to help with the house work but she got a new job and left me :'(.  With two kids, its a jungle around here now! ::)

Marilyn,  will miss your posts but good for you.

Everyone else, sorry I can't remember, but have a great day!!!

Janet

We got home late last night from a trip to Amarillo to see Darrel's sister and his Mom.  His sister is having really scary episodes where she blacks out.  The last time, she was out for over 45 minutes!  And the doctors can't find any reason for it.  One told her she must have stood up too quickly (she was sitting in a car when it happened) and a heart doctor told her she has loose joints, and that people with loose joints pass out more easily.   Makes me wonder where he got his Medical degree.......K Mart?   I think she is almost convinced to go to Mayo Clinic or somewhere similar to get some answers.  Darrel's Mom is 94 and still doing really well, except for a few problems, nothing serious.

I have a chiropractor's app't. today, hoping it will help me.  And also I called about a massage, but don't know if I can get in or not.

Praying for Etta Sue, Kristi, Jeannine, son and hubby, and all the other requests.  Carol, I pray Don will get a good report from his treadmill test, too.

Better get going now!

I certainly pray for those of you who will be homeschooling.  I pray you'll be aware every hour that our Father is with you and blessing you, and that He will care for the children and grant that the results of the homeschooling will be good.  What a large and difficult task!  And yet, may our Father grant you joy in performing it!

I also pray for you, Etta Sue, that our Father will give you patience and good results from the scoping, etc.  May He simply heal you and make you fully aware of His grace and mercy in doing so.

I also pray for you, Judy - and for John - that our Father will give you wisdom in making decisions about driving in the far north.  "Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God" might be a Scripture that applies?

Oh Father, help us walk moment-by-moment with You today.  Through our Lord, Jesus Christ.

I had to come back just to brag a little bit. I am so proud of myself.

I was so surprised today when I had my monthly weigh and measure at Curves. OK Here goes. Since May I am down a total of 9.75 inches, 7 lbs and 8.31 body fat lbs. However I still weigh 169. Up one lb from last month. It must be all muscle.

Hello everyone!
I'm just stopping by really quickly.  Read the posts for today only, glad to hear all the good news and will be praying for the needs of each one.

Please pray for me.  I'm taking the big leap and going PRO soon.  You might check out my new website, http://kfbphotography.smugmug.com although there's not much there, yet.  I've been uploading some things just to learn how it all works and order some prints so I can see if the quality is up to snuff, before I pay for a year's service.  I will then have an actual business name, new URL and the images will be for sale.  I'm excited and a little scared/nervous.  I sometimes doubt myself and I know that I can't do that if I'm going to make a go at this business.  Anyway, let me know what you all think and if you have any suggestions so far, especially those of you who have websites and know how they work.

Karma-Congratulations on your brave decision to homeschool your children!  You will be so blessed for homeschooling!  I love it so much!  I love having my kids home and knowing that they are being taught the Word of God in all subjects and building Godly character!  We started homeschooling when my oldest was in Kindergarten and my little one was in preschool, too.  The first year is fun, but hard so stick it out.  Feel free to PM me if you need any support or have questions.  I will be praying for your endeaver.  You are doing well by you children and there will be good days and bad, but the good are always more plentiful than the bad ones; and so rewarding!!!!!!!!!!

Marilyn-Congrats on your body improvements.  If you've begun exercise recently, the weight gain is most certainly muscle.  Keep it up!

Janet-Praying for you and Darrel's sister.

Al-You're always so encouraging and I love your online prayers for people.  :)

Out of time, blessings to everyone else!

You all have a great day!

Yes Larry we have seen those documentaries.  They are facinating.  I would love to run the ice fields as well.  It is challenging.  The drivers drive with the window open so they can hear the ice.  Our friend says that he goes out at unusual and unexpected times to use a radar gun and make sure the drivers are not travelling over 20 MPH.  Anything over and they are canned as soon as they are back to base.  John is very much a loner and this lifestyle would not bother him at all.  No Al I don't classify this as "Tempting" at all, as it is not going to happen any time soon.  He is very happy with the company he is with.  Thank you for your input though, you know I value it.

Karma expect a PM

I have an urgent prayer request.  Please look in the "Prayer and Praise"

Thank you Judy

I can't believe I'm the firstest one in here this morning!  It's almost 10 AM on the est side of the country, and nobody here yet!

Thank you, Kathleen, for your words.  i just believe in praying as soon as I'm asked, 'cause otherwise i'll probably forget.  Besides, we can all add our amens when it's on here.  God bless.

The wealther forecast here calls for "patchy fog" all week (as usual).  The only problem is that the "patch" seems to cover a couple hundred miles - all day.  But I won't complain, 'cause it's never too hot and never too cold, and we've got redwoods all over - can't beat that.

karmat

Good morning all!  I'm getting ready to go to work.  Kristi seems to be feeling better.  The dr. gave her a high-powered cough suppresant/decongestant and antibiotic and it seems to already be taking effect.

Hope all goes well with you today.

have a good 'un.

I went to my family doctor yesterday.  She thinks the BP med that I was taking is causing the tickle/cough/mucous.  So she gave me samples of a new BP med.  If that clears up the tickle/cough/mucous then I have to go get a new RX for the new BP.  She also told me to take two of the pills for my diabetis to regulate my glucose.  She told me to take two of the generic Prilosec but she didn't write out a new script so I am only going to take one.  I feel like a garbage disposal for pills.

So today I took my morning pills including the new BP med, ate my breakfast, read my devotions and ran the sweeper all over the house.  I then got on the computer and sent some emails and read my emails.  All of a sudden I got shaky and felt sick to my stomach.  I have been to the bathroom three times already.  I am thinking it is the new BP pills.  The last time I was sick to my stomach was 1993 in Hawaii!!

Needless to say, I don't feel too good right now.  Need to call the dr and they probably just went out for lunch.

I feel awful.

 :)   Hi to all.

Well it is so good to here that Micheal is home from hospital Jeannine we will be remembering you all in our prayers and pray that the Lord will give Micheal new strength and you and your husband.

Etta Sue.  I do hope that you get your meds sorted out.  I also feel that I am a human garbage can for drugs but if I did not have them I would not be here.  Just keep trustung him and he will be with you.

The weather in Canada is very warm and it is humid today but thats o.k. as we will soon be saying it's to cold.

Pat.  Hope that you are o.k. and takeing it easy God bless sis.

To all others may the Lord be with you the rest of the week. <3

Praise the Lord Michael is home from the hospital. Great news Jeannine!!!

Etta Sue Please don't take your meds before you eat that could be what made you sick as well as the new med. Always take your meds after you eat unless otherwise instructed by the pharmacist. Those instructions should be on the pill bottle. If they aren't call your pharmacist and ask him when they should be taken and if they could be what made you sick. The pharmacist is the expert on the side effects.
Your doctor could have told you to take two prilosec to prevent you from getting sick.
I am so glad that I don't  have to take any meds any more.

Well the new job is smooth as silk. I prepared her breakfast then read her the newspaper. We talked for awhile after I did the dishes then she took a nap and I read all more newspapers and looked at catalogs until her daughter came home at 12:45. I see that I am going to have to take something to do, either crochet, knitting or my quilt after I get the top made.  I cut some beautiful yellow roses and put them in two vases on a table in the living room.

Well that is it for today. My dogs need their walks and then I will get back to my baby quilt.

Marilyn, Glad the new job is smooth.  Hope it stays that way.

Etta, Yuck.  Hope you get straightened out.

We didn't go to church tonight.  It is cold, damp, and rainy, so I wanted to keep Kristi in, and Bernard doesn't feel really chipper either, so he stayed home as well.  Since Trav is a bit away from driving (say, 11 years), he had to stay home as well.

I'm in the mood to take pictures but can't think of anything.  I think I'll go cruise some photo sites and see if there is anything I want to "copy."

Take care

Etta Sue.............. :P  Sorry you're feeling punk.

I drove about 90 miles to another town (and county) today to judge at their fair.  It took us six hours!  That's the longest time I have ever spent judging, and I'm bushed.  So I'm glad I have a few days before judging at another one.

Friday I see Dr. Rane again, am anxious to see what she advises doing about my Guyon's Canal Syndrome problem.

Abby is missing Grandma, will bring her home with us on Friday as we come back through her town.  She is working, babysitting for a mom who has FOUR little kids!  And Abby just turned 10!  :o  Jill says she's a great help, and Abby likes doing it.

I hope you all have a restful night.
