Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

To answer all the Where's Marilyn?? questions,

My modem died on May 1st may it rest in peace. Verizon sent out a new one and got us hooked up to a higher speed DSL than what we had. The modem they sent was is defective and does not work even plugged straight into the computer and by passing the router. I remembered that I had brought a modem with me, but not until Friday  did I remember that.

Saturday and Sunday/Mother's Day I called  Verizon and talked to someone in INDIA, that was so frustrating because  after doing all they said to do  It still wasn't fixed and they told me I needed to install some drivers in all the computers. So They were going to send out a truck on Monday the 17ths for $129.00 to fix the computers and get us online.  I canceled that appointment yesterday after I found my modem and did all the work myself.

I hooked  it up to the router nothing happened, so I  hooked it up to just the computer and it worked fine. OK DEAD ROUTER!!. Today we bought a new Router  and all is well again. I did have a problem getting  my Net book  to read  the wireless connection until I  put the set up on a flash drive and used that to get the Netbook going. I am so glad that I can follow instructions and am just a little bit tech savvy.  Not afraid to try to do it myself.

Last Monday I made an overnight trip to McKinleyville to attend the funeral of Willa's husband who passed away a week ago Wednesday.

I went through severe withdrawals without being able to get online.

Glad you got things sorted out, Marilyn.  I am finally wireless again, after several trips out here by our internet provider people.  But my desktop is history, I guess.   :'(

Curtis (grandson) came up yesterday and again today to help Darrel with some work, and I am so thankful.  He has felt so bad since we got home, and was gbetting further behind on his work, so that gave him a real boost.  They came to help celebrate Diane's birthday (Curtis' Mom, our daughter) and so we got to meet the newest member of our family, little Chelsea Rebecca, born May 1st.  Of course, she is beautiful!   ;)

I spent the day at the library today, making cards.  I wasn't in the mood to work on my scrapbooks, even though I am lightyears behind on them.  :-\

Marilyn:   Welcome back with your problems solved, I am not savy like you so with problems I need to go to someone.  Praise the Lord we are not all the same.

It sounds as though Mel is in the kitchen getting a snack I think that it will be a big one as I had made a loaf of bread earlier in the day.

We have had a cool and cloudy day but tomorrow is to be sunny.

Listening to a radio program that is all about teens being in trouble and then having the church and caring people helping them turn around.  it is great to hear.

Cleaning and fixing a few things - there is always something and now it is wiFi that is going in and out.  Also, the cell phone has been miserable and cuts out on conversations.

Dinner was Teriyaki sauce over noodles, a broth soup and fresh strawberries that were really tasty for a change.

Sunset is lovely.  Looking forward to Sunday morning.

Welcome back, Marilyn!

I purchased My Passport Essential, an external hard drive.  I love it that just about all electronics have no instructions.  All it said was easy to install.  Well, yes!  Plug the USB cord in your computer and the other end in the Passport!  From then on it took me three or more hours!!  I found the manual online.  Then I was to download two things.  I did.  Nothing.  I think I discovered that one of my USB ports is dead.  Then I downloaded them again.  Nothing.  I clicked on Computer, then the removable drive.  Showed nothing.  I couldn't get the window to run it to come on.  Finally I formatted the Passport and it worked.  It is suppose to back up automatically after the initial back up.  Well, I did some WORD work and it didn't back it up!  Grrr!

Today I am running the projector at church.  Hope Ivalou remembers she is to drive herself to church.

Who knows what I might get into when I get back home!  Euchre is Tuesday!

When Morning Gilds the Skies
(Click to hear music)

May the Name of the Lord be praised.
Job 1:21

Words: translated from German to English by Edward Caswall
Music: Laudes Domini, Joseph Barnby, in Hymns Ancient and Modern (London: 1868)

When morning gilds the skies my heart awaking cries:
May Jesus Christ be praised!
Alike at work and prayer, to Jesus I repair:
May Jesus Christ be praised!

When you begin the day, O never fail to say,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
And at your work rejoice, to sing with heart and voice,
May Jesus Christ be praised!

Whene'er the sweet church bell peals over hill and dell,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
O hark to what it sings, as joyously it rings,
May Jesus Christ be praised!

My tongue shall never tire of chanting with the choir,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
This song of sacred joy, it never seems to cloy,
May Jesus Christ be praised!

Does sadness fill my mind? A solace here I find,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
Or fades my earthly bliss? My comfort still is this,
May Jesus Christ be praised!

To God, the Word, on high, the host of angels cry,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
Let mortals, too, upraise their voice in hymns of praise,
May Jesus Christ be praised!

Be this at meals your grace, in every time and place;
May Jesus Christ be praised!
Be this, when day is past, of all your thoughts the last
May Jesus Christ be praised!

When mirth for music longs, this is my song of songs:
May Jesus Christ be praised!
When evening shadows fall, this rings my curfew call,
May Jesus Christ be praised!

When sleep her balm denies, my silent spirit sighs,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
When evil thoughts molest, with this I shield my breast,
May Jesus Christ be praised!

The night becomes as day when from the heart we say:
May Jesus Christ be praised!
The powers of darkness fear when this sweet chant they hear:
May Jesus Christ be praised!

No lovelier antiphon in all high heav?n is known
Than, Jesus Christ be praised!
There to the eternal Word the eternal psalm is heard:
May Jesus Christ be praised!

Let all the earth around ring joyous with the sound:
May Jesus Christ be praised!
In heaven?s eternal bliss the loveliest strain is this:
May Jesus Christ be praised!

Sing, suns and stars of space, sing, ye that see His face,
Sing, Jesus Christ be praised!
God?s whole creation o?er, for aye and evermore
Shall Jesus Christ be praised!

In heaven's eternal bliss the loveliest strain is this,
May Jesus Christ be praised!
Let earth, and sea and sky from depth to height reply,
May Jesus Christ be praised!

Be this, while life is mine, my canticle divine:
May Jesus Christ be praised!
Sing this eternal song through all the ages long:
May Jesus Christ be praised!

Etta Sue so you are having computer problems too, All is well with my computer, however,
Keith has a virus in his that I just cannot remove. I can't even get the Control Panel to open. to remove the program that somehow downloaded itself into his computer last night. It won't even let me install a virus program to get it out.

It says it is an Anti-spyware  program thing that keeps popping up in the corner of his screen saying the this and that are corrupted, even the AVG when it tried to run. It wants him to buy the program;  I took out AVG and downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials this dumb program won't let it install. Keith is going to have to get someone other than me to fix his computer.

The funeral service I attended for Willa's husband was so nice, her son, grandson and two other pastors spoke, it was 1½ hours long. Then we went to to Eureka to the cemetery where there was a Military  service in the mausoleum, with the 21 gun salute outside. I love hearing TAPS and seeing the flag presentation, It is so awesome. Taps always brings tears to my eyes, but this time they were very profuse.

The reception  at the church after we returned to McKinleyville was also very nice the food was terrific, I left there at 2:45 for the long drive home, arriving here at 7 P.M.

Marilyn from what I have heard the hard drive on the virused computer will have to be wiped clean and reformatted.  That is what happened to mine when I have had a virus as well as with the business computer that I worked with.  Unfortunately he has probably lost all the information on that hard drive.  Sad.

We had an excellent worship this morning at church.  Pastor Larry is such a good teacher.  Teaching again was on an aspect of David's life.

Kass is being tormented by allergies. We still have pollen on the car windshield in the mornings, and she was out in the fields yesterday.

John is home and we are heading out to check the fence line shortly.  It is the other side of our property,  this will be interesting!

Have to run
Have a blessed day

Janet

Etta Sue, that stuff drives me straight up the wall!  No way I can fix computer problems, and I really don't want to mess with them.  So I need help, like Ruth says she does.

We had a good service this morning; our district Superintendent was there.  He dedicated the two children our pastor adopted from Etheopia, and then preached a very good sermon.  We left immediately after church to go to Diane's again so we could see the great grands before they headed back home.  And I got to hold little Chelsea, and Lexi even warmed up to me some.  She is a very pretty little girl.

Now we are back home.  I am sleepy as I was up from 2 till 5 AM, so I think I will just take a little snooze  zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
