Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

A Prayer for Forgiveness and Mercy

"Nothing can ever separate us from His love...

Romans 8:38 NLT

For the honor of your name, O Lord, forgive my many, many sins... Turn to me and have mercy on me, for I am alone and in deep distress. My problems go from bad to worse. O, save me from them all! Feel my pain and see my trouble. Forgive all my sins."
Psalm 25:11, 16-18 NLT

Like dominoes...
"Have you ever felt as though the problems in your life were like a series of dominoes? One domino falls down, and it sets off a chain reaction that knocks down the rest of the dominoes. David felt that his problems were going from bad to worse—his enemies had surrounded him, waiting for his ultimate demise. David could see no way out. But even in his despair, he knew there was one whom he could always trust to help him. He turned to God, confessed his sins, asked for forgiveness, and pleaded for mercy.

When we are separated from God because of our sins, we need to repent and ask for forgiveness. Then, with a clean heart, we can come before him and ask for help. He will hear and answer us "for the honor of his name."

A prayer for today:
Dear God, for the honor of your name, please forgive my many, many sins and have mercy on me...

QuoteHe was asking why can't Christians accept the fact that evolution is right since scientists have proven we evolved by evolution?
Not only are scientists sometimes wrong, but in this case their conclusion isn't even scientific.  It has NOT been proven by a long stretch that man evolved.  In fact, scientifically, it's really quite evident that evolution was not involved at all.

Hi everyone.  We have another beautiful day here in Georgia with not a cloud in the sky.  It was cool this morning but will get close to 80 degrees before the day is done.

I was really tired when we got home from church and going out to eat yesterday.  Spent the day resting and went to bed early.  I feel much more rested today.  I will attend my men's luncheon at 1 pm and that is all that is on my schedule.

Judy, thanks for the devotional thoughts for the week.  It is a good one.

Marilyn, it seems that no one is immune to someone else getting hold of our e-mail or putting a virus on our computers.

Janet, I am certainly glad to hear that Kerri is seeking help for herself.  It helps a lot to be around people who have been or are in the same place and understand what she is experiencing.

Etta Sue

Thanks Al!  That man really ruffles my feathers!

Well, here's my story.  Same as last week but with a different angle.  My laptop is in the shop again.  It still has 'not responding' windows.  But four times now I have been Skyping with my friend in Mexico and the dreaded blue screen comes up, goes black and restarts.  I think it is something to do with Skype but the first time I was uninstalling something else when I was Skyping.  But I figure that what is wrong is something that I know nothing about so let the experts work on it.  I gave them a list of things this time!!  Not just saying 'soup up my laptop'!  With all the $$ I have spent on the laptop, I can't afford to purchase another one unless it would be on sale for a nickel-ninety-eight!!

So Kitty drove us to PC Help.  Then we went swimming.  What a work out.  Three lanes was aerobic class, the other three lanes had 2 people in each of them.  The water was really churned up.  Like swimming upstream!  Then we went to Robert's Camera.  Ate at Don Pablo's.  Stopped at Lowe's for me to get a refrigerator bulb...I guessed at the right one!  Then Kitty needed some things at Office Depot.  We both got a lot of errands ran and so much more enjoyable when you are with someone else!

And the furnace man is coming Thursday to put in the new flexible pipe and take out the old junky stuff!

AND IT IS RAINING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Pat~

Etta Sue, if you couldn't fix your laptop, it must be a harder problem than usual, you are so handy at fixing computer glitches.

I went to Garden City today by myself, as the ones I asked to go with me couldn't, and Darrel didn't want to go.  I rather enjoyed being able to take my  time and look at things without worrying about anyone waiting for me.  The reason I had to go was that the man at the shoe store sent the wrong size shoes home with me (one pair) and I needed to exchange them.  He just put them in the bag, handed them to me, and I didn't check.  He called the next day to tell me his mistake.

I went by the care home to ask Beth and Mom if they wanted anything, Beth wanted white cheddar cheesits and beef jerkey and Mom wanted fresh fruit.  So I got those things, and stopped by this evening to deliver them.  Hope they enjoy.

God is really dealing with my heart about getting ever more close to Him, as time is short.  I think I will start fasting one meal three days a week and one day per month.  Fasting helps you have sharper spiritual focus, and also has great health benefits.

I've been battling pneumonia and severe bronchitis this week so I'm coughing a lot.

I'll be feeling better by the end of the week I'm sure.  ;)

HI everyone.  Pat, so sorry to hear of your new health problems.   I do hope Paul is able to get up there so he can be of help to you.

Etta Sue, sorry you are having so much problem with your laptop.  You may have to put it back in factory condition and set it up again to correct the problem.  I have done that a couple of times.  It sounds like you and your friend did a awful lot of errands yesterday.

Nothing else to write about other than we just put the electric blanket on my side of the bed and now we can't find the controls.  Very frustrating and hope they didn't get thrown out accidentally as will have to buy another blanket.

Etta Sue

I sent my E drive with my laptop in case they do have to put my laptop back to factory default.  I am thinking that the 'not responding' must be an update problem on something...this desktop has had two times already this morning 'not responding' windows.  I am certainly going to ask them what they did to fix that problem.

Today is Euchre so I am not planning on much more than that.  It rained in the night also.  More rain in the last 24 hours than it has rained in almost 3 months!

Etta Sue, computers can be so frustrating at times, can't they?  And so magical when they work right!

The bright sunshine of the last couple of days is missing this morning but the wind seems to have calmed down quite a bit.  This year the bright red seems to be lacking - lots of yellow and orange, but very few trees have turned to real red.

This is a week of meetings, I guess.  Last night I met with the county Auxiliary finance committee for the annual audit of the books and preparation of the budget for this coming year.  Our fiscal year is from September 1 to August 31 but we've had trouble scheduling a meeting when all involved would be available.  Anyway, all that is now done.  Tonight is the local unit of the Auxiliary, at which I'm secretary, and Thursday is the full county Auxiliary meeting, where I'm treasurer.  Helps to keep the old brain oiled up!   :D

How about a chuckle this morning?

A wealthy contractor liked to know something about all the employees who worked for him.

One day he came upon a young man who was expertly counting out a large wad of the firm's cash.

The contractor asked the man, "Where did you get your financial training, young man?"

"Yale," the man answered.

"That's good," said the contractor, who was an advocate of higher learning.

"What's your name?" he asked.

And the man answered, "Yackson."

*Thanks to Pastor Tim for this joke!*

Janet

That's a good one, Jeanne!

Pat, so sorry you are sick.  Sounds a lot like what my Kerri is dealing with right now, except hers hadn't gotten down into her lungs.  But the pleruisy sure was giving her fits--so painful.

Well, yours truly worked today.  The boss called me at 5:30 AM to ask if I could be there by 6!!  And I was!!!  I do hope she doesn't start calling me too often, though, as my feet were really hurting after that 8 1/2 hours.  I sort of think it's "If I can't get anybody else, I'll call Janet, she is dependable."  But I sure don't want to work all the time.

It's another gorgeous day here, what I have seen of it.  I was awake from 2 until 5, just got back to sleep when Debra called.  So when I got home, a nap was sure in order.

Carol

I feel too old to be this busy.

Ruth:  I did not see another message from you - was it on the email?

Janet:  I hope Curtis was able to see a little of Seattle.  Oh, my - your daughter has been ill quite some time.  I hope she starts feeling better - maybe seeing AA programs will help her feel better too.  5:30 AM.  I am shaking my head.  That is like the company that hired me at 10:30 PM and wanted me at the office first thing in the morning.  But - you are on your poor aching feet.  I hope you have a tub of epson salt waiting for your feet when you get home.

JudyB:  Sent you an email.

Larry:  Yes, I have what is considered an old-fashioned Bernina now - the 440.  Nice to "cyber see" you.

Pat:  That double diagnosis is tough to get over - best that you stay in the house and nap often.  I do hope Paul makes it to you soon.  Praying for your quick recovery.

I hope a conversation with Jo-ann stores was recorded.  After a three hour wait for a return phone call (they said five minutes), the fast-talking girl said that they only carried that knitting needle online.  I told her to mention to the managers that if they would just get rid of a bunch of that junk made in China that they could once again become the fabric and yarn store they had started in the first place.  It made me feel better  :)  and I told her it wasn't her fault.

JudyB

Pat hope the antibiotics are kicking in. :)

Carol got the email.  Will answer tomorrow, Looking forward to the pattern.  What weight of yarn does it use?   <3

Our Walmart has a limited amount of yarn, Zellers is just as bad.  The only other store that carries yarn is too expensive for my budget.  One families sweaters is done and stated on the next.   ;D

Kassie's cadet time has tripled this year.  The seniors are expected to devote ALL their time to cadets.  This entails Monday night, Wednesday night, Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday afternoon.  My fuel bill has just gone through the roof.   :clobber:

Today has been rainy, and miserable.  But I have been warmed with wood.  Did you know wood warms 3 times?  Once cutting, once stacking, and once burning!

Etta Sue

Euchre was fun.  The hostess missed last month because of a surgery the day before.  They removed a 5lb...yes, I said 5lb tumor from her thyroid.  Tests shows that part of it was cancer...the part that was grown to her collarbone and couldn't remove it all.  Today starts Iodine free diet for two weeks and then she starts radiation treatments the 3rd of November.  For a week she isn't to get 'close' to anyone...the radiation from her will attack the other person's thyroid.  Then her and 3 other ladies are flying to Florida for 10 days.  So keep my friend, Janet, in your prayers.

Today Ivalou and I are going to Lapel for food, stamps and gas for her car.  Then I will return to the gas station with my car for gas in it.

Hopefully tomorrow I get my furnace fixed.  And tomorrow evening, Ivalou, Marge, Betty and I are planning on seeing 'Secretariat' at the movies and, of course, something to eat afterwards.

I hope when PC Help calls, I have some time to go get my laptop!

Good day!  Company coming but they are staying at a hotel & that is alright because my sciatic nerve has been giving me a few problems.

Etta Sue:  Prayers for your friend who will endure the healing process.  WOW that is a large tumor.  How on earth did it get so large before anyone noticed?

JudyB:  I forwarded the pattern and do hope you can download it & print it out.  If not at home, perhaps the library or friend's house - I know your 'puter has been giving you temperamental problems.  Thanks for the info on the girls - they are wonderful. I was told to use a Worsted weight & I am using a yarn with a bit of wool in it now.  Think that gives it more stability.  Anyway, was told by my neighbor to first make a swatch & measure how that works with the clothing pattern. I had to go down two sizes in needles.

Gotta look into food here & washing clothes.  The "To Do" list is getting longer.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  We had a little bit of rain during the night but today has been sunny and beautiful.

This was our usual Wednesday with Bible study, visiting with friends and then lunch with these same friends.  I was tired when we got home but had a nice nap.  Yesterday I put the electric blanket on my side of the bed and really slept well last night as wasn't cold and the same thing this afternoon as was cold from the morning.  Today is choir.  We aren't singing Sunday as our choir director is singing with the Atlanta Symphony Chorus at Carnegie Hall on Saturday night.  They sing their about once a year.  So we will be able to concentrate on our Christmas Cantata this evening, as we did last week.

Pat, sure hope today has found you feeling better and on your way to recovery.

Carol,  my wife's Bernina is also a 440 model but it has the special quilting tool, which I don't think she has ever used.  Have you used that tool?  However, she and her friend are making a black and white quilt to include in our churches Holiday craft show and expect she will use the special foot then.

Etta Sue, that sounds like some heavy duty treatment that your friend will have on her thyroid.  Hope you enjoy the movie and eating out this evening.

JudyB, at least you know that the extra effort in getting Kass where she needs to be with her Cadets will be of limited duration.  Do the Cadets lead to service in the Canadian military?

Janet, hope you didn't have to work again today.  That was a long stent yesterday.  Hope you weren't too tired to sleep last night.

Jeanne, must say the "Yackson" joke went right over my head.  I sort of scratched my head when I read it on S&Fs and the same today.  What am I missing?  It sounds like you really enjoy your volunteer work.

Pat:  So nice to see you popping in here - I am almost heading for bed but it is still too early.  It is so nice that Jeanne can be of such talented help too.

Jeanne:  All of my Swedish relatives speak excellent American English - you would not believe it.  But - I have relatives in Minnesota who have more of a little accent.  Isn't that funny?

My thoughts are about the rift between the political parties and I wish that everyone would just kneel down in prayer.

Larry, I read the joke to Darrel and he didn't get it, either!  I had to explain....Yale, jail, Yackson, Jackson........and he still didn't get it, so I gave up.   Yes, I did sleep last night, in fact I didn't wake up until 8 this morning, and felt really, really good today!  Praise the Lord!

Beth had two friends from college days visiting her today.  It makes me so happy that her friends remain loyal to her.  I went by and said hello to them.....nice gals.  One lives in Hutchinson and the other in Holcomb.

I called and talked to both of my older sisters today.  We need to stay in closer touch, but it's so easy to allow weeks to pass without calling.

Tomorrow I want to get some painting done.  I must finish the wood piece for a friend in my painting group.  We draw for them, take them home and paint them, then the next year, bring them back to the owner.  The one I got is a door harp, and has been a real challenge.  And next meeting is when I take it back, so must hustle!  Then I need to paint another piece for the Christmas exchange.

Time to think about bed...G'nite!

Ruth

Hello all:

Carol:   Judy did forward the pattern to me, I hope that I can enlarge it some more though.

Pat:   Sorry that you are not feeling well.

Etta Sue:  Are you the one with the corn bread salad if so is it in the recipe section?

Marilyn:   Keep getting well.

Monday I was asked to play euchre as a spare and yes I came home with the low score envelope.  I did enjoy the evening anyway.

I helped hubby rake leaves this afternoon and now it is raining so I think we got it done at the right time.   There are still more leaves to fall though.

It is getting late          Ruth

Pat

Thanks for the encouragement to get better.  I'm sure I will.

I heard from Judy this evening and they had a storm while she was on the computer and now her modem is gone!  So she won't be in here till John gets home to help her out.

Ruth ~ Click on 'Cornbread Salad' for the recipe.  It is good.  Unusual but so good.

Janet has always had a large neck/jowl line.  But this 5lb. tumor was inside...even under her breast bone and collarbones.  She was told in a few more weeks it would have been hard for her to breath and maybe never talk again.  She looks great now and says she feels better than ever.  She is also diabetic and her sugar levels are lower now than ever since she has been testing her sugar.  I didn't know your thyroid did all of that.

My furnace man is here as I am typing.  I had the basement door open and I was sneezing up a storm.  Wouldn't it be great that it was the gas fumes causing me sneezing, runny nose and watery eyes and not seasonal allergies!  We should see in a few days!  Glad I have an air purifier also.

I haven't heard anything about my laptop yet.  I hope that no news is good news!  But I know something was terribly wrong with it but the last I heard, they couldn't duplicate the blue screen!!
