Hi, friends,

I've been resting all day - seems a head cold has me feverish and feeling bad. But, it's always good to come and share fellowship and the love of our Father.

Y'all have a good evening.

Just thought I'd share some news of Judy McKenna.  She's been moved back up to the Guelph Hospital now.  And on Christmas Eve, Norm was on his way over to visit her when he missed the turn.  So he turned around and then was driving back and hit something on the road (he doesn't know what it was) and this caused the air bags to deploy and his eyes filled with dust and he was momentarily blinded and he drove into the back of a brown truck.  Thats the only description he has and it was from someone who saw it happen.  But the truck kept on going and didn't stop but Norm's car is totalled.

He was taken to the hospital by ambulance to be checked over and he's very sore but ok.

Oh MY!!   :o  How frightening -- and frustrating -- this must've been for Norm.  I do hope everything will be taken care of speedily and with as little expense and distress as possible.  It's good Judy Mc is closer home but still a real hardship for both her and Norm.  I'll be praying for them both.

well Ruth Ann it is good to see (hear from) you.  I am sorry you are not in peek form.  A day or two of rest is always good.

Carol the Chriatmas Eve services are always good.  We had an excellent service.  I was saying to John yesterday that we should pray first and act last.  So often we act first, and that is the human reaction.

Gord abour those caps!  Glad you had a good holiday time.  Ours was quiet, much different from the celebrations we had at 69!

Jane next year come and visit us and enjoy the holidays with us.

Marilyn I rarely get gifts that are not needed.  I give a lot of BIG hints all autumn and usually receive something on the list.

Al snowball rides are not always pleasant or fun.  going back up the hill can be just disasterous with sore knees!

Janet sorry you have been blue.  This often happens after holidays.  Am praying for you and your family.

Etta Sue we woke up to a winterwonderland today as well.  I wonder if it is going to stay?

Pat I am sorry about Norm.  That was quie an ordeal.  Where does his son live now, close enough to help his dad out?  Let them know I am praying for them both.

To everyone I didn't mention I have you in my prayers, and you can rely on that.  I pray each of you has a peaceful New Year.

God Bless
Judy

Judy, David McKenna lives in Michigan and Karen lives in Kingston so neither of the kids can help out.

Good Morning All,

So sorry to hear of the depressions and cancer and illnesses, just know that I pray for you all each day.

Marilyn ~ my mom had breast cancer, she could not do the chemo as she is frail so they did the tamoxifen and she is cancer free now.

Ruth Ann ~ being under the weather is not fun, I pray you feel better quick.

Janet ~ so sorry you are feeling blue, just know that Jesus has his loving arms around you and keep looking to Him.

Sorry to hear about the McKenna's, I'll be praying for them too.

My prayers are with you all.

Some friends of mine have been trying to adopt a child from Talica, Nicaraugua, he goes to the American embassy for his visa today, if all goes well we will all meet him next sunday. Pray everything works out for them.

We had a great Christmas. Michael got to see 2 of his siblings and their families. I'm sure glad that doesn't happen everyday though, we had 15 people in a small 5 room house and it got quite close in here. I think Michael was a tad bit overwhelmed though, just like I was. I think I took Missy out a few more times in the 4 hours everyone was here than I usually do. I just don't like crowds. :yikes:

May you all have a God-filled and Blessed day! Talk to y'all later.

Trusting,
<><Jeannine

Good Morning. The wind blew and blew and blew last night and blew my tent down. It is all there but blown apart. Happy is afraid to go outside  and I don't know how he can hold it so long. I have been awake since about 1:30 when I discovered there was no power, it came back on the went off and on again.
I am  having a bit of an intestinal problem too. So not up to my usual self but have to go to work in a couple of hours. I went to Curves but only made it one time around the circuit.

I'M BA-A-A-A-A-CK!!  And feeling like myself again, too!  :)  None too soon for me, I do not like the blues!  I'm thankful for a loving and understanding (usually) spouse, a loving daughter and that I had a good conversation with my youngest daughter yesterday. A ll in all, it's a good life, even though there will always be problems and obstacles.

I'm so sorry about Norm's accident, on top of Judy's condition!!  Goodness, this is really "piling on," isn't it?  I will continue to pray for them.

I just installed Firefox, and at least now I have the edit button back!!  On the new tool bar for IE, it was missing, and I didn't know where to find it.  So much for copy and paste!!  >:(  I guess when it comes to computer, I don't appreciate  changes, it's difficult to learn, then they change it!  I know, showing my age........ :-[

The death of President Gerald Ford is all over the news this morning.  Do you wonder sometimes what people will say about you, when you are gone?  Hmmmmm..  I think it is terrible how they are STILL bashing Richard Nixon.  :(

This may be my last lazy day for a while.  Tomorrow I have to take Beth to get her braces for her legs, then in the evening we have a dinner to attend in Dodge City.  It's been nice to have some slow days, though.

Darrel is making hominy grits for breakfast.b :-\.....  That's one thing for which I had to acquire a taste.

I think I may play with photos today, maybe print out some on my photo printer.  See you later!

G'Morning all y'all!   ;)  Windy here, too, Marilyn :o  And 1:30 is when I got up and found the power had been off!  All my digital clocks were flashing 12...12...12!   :-\  I think they had been off about 15 minutes according to the other clock by which I set them!

Today is the last day for my daughter Joy to be "stateside" as she leaves to return to Mexico very early in the morning.  It has been good for her to be with family and friends.  I know it lifted her spirits considerably and she returns home with a lighter heart as well as knowing what she needs to do to keep those blues away and have a healthier life.

Janet~It's good to have you b-a-a-a-a-k  ;D

Hi everyone.  Eating a bite of lunch so thought that would be a good time to write a bit.  Pat and I made a trip to Kaiser this morning as they called and wanted to check her blood pressure before renewing a prescription.  Her blood pressure was fine and it was a pretty morning to be out, although chilly.  On the way back we stopped for a few items at the grocery store.

Jane, nice to read that your daughter was able to be with her son and other family members.

Janet, on the new Internet Explorer 7 a number of the commands are rather hidden on the right side of the screen where you have the little drop down arrows.  All the commands are still available but have been moved around.  Shortcuts, such as control c for copy and control v for paste still work the same.  I think you will like Firefox.  My dad liked hominy  but I sure never did.  However, I do like grits.

Marilyn, sorry to hear of your car tent and sure hope it can be put back together.  Sure hope you don't have a touch of the flu.

Jeannine, sometimes rooms just get too crowded.  It is nice to have the folks there but sure nice when they leave as well.

Pat, so sorry to hear of the new problems for the McKenna's.  Was Judy in a rehab facility or has she been the hospital all this time?

JudyB, I agree with you that you might as well drop those hints as to what you would like to receive for Christmas.  I think the giver also appreciates that as often they don't have much idea as to what a person would like to have.  I know this is particularly the case with older men.  My children have told me this many times.

Ruth Ann, sorry you have to have a cold during your home off from work but perhaps this will help you get a lot of rest during this time.

Carol, don't give up on your children not attending church.  This time last year I felt there just wasn't any chance that our daughter would attend church and two evenings ago we attended a candlelight service at the church she is now attending.  I am still holding out hope for our son.  When they grow up it is their decision to make and therefore all we can do is continue to pray for them.

Gord, sounds like you all had a very nice time.  Glad you made it home safe and sound.

Etta Sue, your white Christmas came a few hours late.  Sorry you weren't able to see all of the family you had planned.

Al, happy anniversary to you and your wife.  Hope you had a great dinner out.

Liz, it is hard to watch those closest to us suffer continual pain.  I am sure you are a big help to your daughter.

Well, guess I had better get busy although I may take a little nap first.  I need to get a haircut and do an errand.  This evening our son and daughter-in-law will be here for dinner and for our Christmas together.

Mary Frances

Jane, I just want to tell you how much encouragement I receive from this quote that you have on your messge each time.  It reminds me that I have to "do the doing" so to speak.

Here in Ohio our weather is sunny, but a a bit cold which is good at this time of the year.

I have to take a list of The Ukulelians volunteer hours for December to our Senior Center today.  So I am thankful that the weather is nice.  My old 92 Plymouth Voyager is in for transmission repair (I'll get it back tomorrow).  My daughter has an appointment in the same area - so, I'll use her Jeep while she is at her appointment.  Then, we'll have to stop and get some "kitty litter" to put in my garage to clean up the oil spill.

I wish all of you a wonderful, cheerful, and productive day.

Pat

Nice to see those of you who have made it in here.

Mary Frances, so very good to see you.  How's your daughter that I met in Perrysburg?

My, My!  When it rains, it pours!  My prayers are for Judy and Norm.  What a sad thing to happen.  Not only is Judy in the hospital but now Norm has to get a new car so he can go see Judy at the hospital.  Bless their hearts.

Mary Frances ~ I am so sorry I forgot to say Hello the other day when you posted.  Please forgive me and realize that I was thinking about saying hello even if my fingers didn't type Hello!

Janet ~ I haven't had the radio or the TV on yet today.  I didn't realize that President Ford had passed away.  Thanks for letting us know.  Us, who doesn't have the TV on the news.

All the snow is gone and now the ground is saturated with water and puddles.  My sump pump is running once in a while.  Today I got up and dusted and ran the sweeper.  I have three office chairs here in the comp-utility room.  I even turned them up and took a knife and scraped off the kitty litter that adheres to the wheels!  Nice shiny black wheels now!

Now for 30 years of working, I had Friday after Thanksgiving off.  I never had a husband that helped with decorations so I used that day to put up my Christmas decorations while he was at work.  Then for 30 years, I had the week between Christmas and New Year's off work so I always took the decorations down the day after Christmas so I could relax and enjoy the rest of the week.  That's my story, and I am sticking to it!!   :clobber:   :ticked:

That's a neat sight, Jane!  I made an elf of myself, copied and pasted url and emailed it to all my friends.  Then went to my Sent file, clicked on the clickable and it was YOU dancing!  I didn't do the right URL.  So I did it all again and got the right URL this time for my friends.!!  Whew!

You just might be surprised, Judy!  If I start out now, maybe I can make it by next year, y'think?

Pat   I love it!!  I don't think I've ever moved like that, myself!

Hey Kevin ... why not let Jazz be an elf?  You could teach him how to dance.

Pat:  Such a shock for Norm and I do hope that they both recuperate quickly.

JudyB:  Easter is my favvorite service time but Good Friday service can be heartwrenching and somber.  Christmas Eve is my 2nd. most favorite service if I have to choose.

Larry:  I will listen to what you wrote about the possibilty of things changing for the better.

Jane:  It would be fun to see you visit JudyB.  Take care out there with all the Pacific storms.

Don is taking a very long nap today and he is all "tuckered out".  I hope he sleeps well tonight.  I stopped at the church to get some notes into the bulletin - asking for help with quilts that must be finished by the end of January.  Also, a big trip to a super grocery store that was a madhouse as another storm is predicted by tomorrow.  Am always amazed at the young people buying cases of water when we have fresh mountain water right at the tap and another thing is the unhappy & crabby people if the line doesn't move fast enough - Lord, grant me peace.

>:(   :( I want to see all the dancing elves, but can't seem to get the flash thing downloaded properly.

Mary Frances, so good to see you again.

We didn't go to church tonight as Curtis and Toni came up and spent the afternoon with us, and then we took them to supper.  They just left.

I was so sorry to see our good Kansas Attorney General defeated in the last election, in a really dirty ad campaign by the winner.  Kline (present AG, but only for 2 more weeks) was really trying to get criminal charges pressed against Dr. Tiller (the baby killer) the worst abortion provider in the US.  The judge made a really wrong ruling when he said Kline had no right to bring criminal charges against Tiller, because the county attorney said she didn't want the charges brought.  Kline has one more chance to get the charges reinstated.  It is just awful to have my state known  as the abortion capital of the whole country.  :'(

I didn't get any photos printed, but did get the date stamp in my camera turned off, and it only took three of us three hours to figure out how to do it.  :P

I think I will get off here and try to get to bed earlier tonight.  See you tomorrow! :(

Nita

Hi, all.  Lovely elves you each make. Pat, you are looking pretty nifty.  Jane, you look like you were made to move like that.  Smokey made the cutest elf! :)

I'm really tired tonight.  I didn't do a lot for Christmas, but have been resting a lot in between taking Christmas decorations down.  Etta Sue, we are so on the ball!  I took our tree down today, plus lights and misc decorations.   The tree was in front of the window, and I couldn't see out very well.  I took the tree down first thing this morning.

My clock was flashing this morning too.  I knew the lights had been off during the night, but I slept right through the storm.  I notice a little more of my roof shingles are on the ground.   My son in law said he'd fix it when we have some good weather.

Marilyn, I'm so sorry about your new pole tent thing being down.  I hope it can be fixed again.

That's awful about Norm's accident.  I'm so grateful that he is ok.  God was sure watching over him.

Carol, it seems more and more people are so used to bottled water, they don't even like the taste of tap.  But I'd think that fresh mountain water would taste great.  I know if I drink bottled for awhile, then go back to ours, with the additives, I don't like the taste.  Can't afford bottled, so I drink tap just fine. :)

Etta Sue....about sending Jane the Elf to friends.......I almost did the same thing.  I had the link all ready and decided to click on it to be sure, and there was Jane, dancing away.  I had to do it over, like you did. lol

I'm heading to my recliner with a nice cup of tea and two sleepy little critters. :)  Nita

My tent/garage will be back up in no time. Bill from across the street and Chris who helped put it up the first time came by this afternoon and knocked on my door saying they were the repair team. they have mine all down and dismantled, Bill is going to straighten out the pieces that are bent and they will put it back up for me, They will be putting the one next door up too. I love this neighborhood.  sure put me in the right place.

Gilbert and Sarah are still without power and don't expect it to be back on until tomorrow sometime.

I spent all afternoon in bed keeping warm. I didn't feel so good as I told y-all this morning. Then I sat in my Dr's. office for an hour and never did get to see her I had to leave to go fix Ruth's supper. So now I have an early morning appt on the  9th. The nurse is faxing  the  request for blood draw to the hospital so when I do have my appt with the Dr. I will already have had the blood draw. TMI

Hi, friends,

I saw the doctor this morning, so hope that the strong medications prescribed will "do the trick" and get me better fast.

While at Wal Mart, I asked for a listing of the generic drugs they will fill for just $4 for a month's supply. Wow, I see where I'll be spending some of my Rx dollars in 2007!

I'm unable at this time to serve as moderator, so have asked Pat to remove my name from the moderators list. However, I still plan to be actively participating, and at some later date when there's more time, I may be able to again pick up responsibilities at this wonderful site.

Nita and Marilyn, I'm really thankful the high winds didn't do even worse damage. Hopefully all can be repaired shortly.

Janet, glad you're feeling better.

I read every post. Jeanine, your comments warm my heart. I'm so sad for the difficults Norm and Judy are having. The elves dancing around in this site brought a chuckle. :)

Larry, take your rest periods - we appreciate you and all you do. I truly agree with you - with God all things are possible and He does answer our prayers - even those of many years standing. I heard a child of mine pray last weekend - have not heard that for many years. I saw two of my children embrace who have been estranged. And even more answers to prayer over the weekend.

I have mentioned all who post, but please know that I certainly do love all of y'all.

Have a good evening.

MArilyn and Ruth Ann I am sorry you are not feelling well.  I pray the cause/cure works quickly.

Pat any news update about Norm?

Gord John and I were driving home from N Bay tonight and you were the topic of conversation.  We will be down to see you soon I hope.  While we are down there I would like to see a friend in Sarnia.  I know it is a long way but you are closer to her than we are up there and it will maximize the miles/gas.  I will keep you updated.

We spent a lovely evening at a friends home in the country.  We had a wonderful time talking and sharing.  It seems we have a scots heritage in common as well as a spiritual herritage.

Well it is late, we are tired, and heading to bed.
