JennyW: Hello Janet! I check every day. I wish everyone would get going again! I miss seeing pictures and reading posts! 2025-01-24, 06:54:04

Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Etta Sue, I DISLIKE going to DST because I also like to sleep in a bit, and will have to get up one hour earlier!  Now, time to fall back, that I like.  Actually, I don't care much which way they have it, only wish they would make up "their" minds and leave it the same year around.  >:(  (Old grouch.)   ;)  And this year "they" decided to add four weeks to Daylight Savings time, in order to save fuel. ?????  I don't think so!  When everybody has to get up in the dark, it is colder then, etc.  Oh, well, nobody asked me.  :)

We found the problems with the system so I'm home in time for my painting class.  My students will be here momentarily, so must run, again.............

I agree with you Janet on DSL.  Well, it is a bit easier as I have the girls to school. We can start whenever we get up.  I will start easing the new time in, in 15 minute increments.  Make it a bit easier.

We have changed our minds about going away tomorrow.  It is into the bush instead.  Yeaaaaa.  It is so quiet and peaceful.

Well John wants the puter so bye for tonight.

Janet - how DID they get power to the detectors?  So many of them are battery powered these days.  Others just tap into whatever 110V is closest.

Carol

You are getting too technical for me....just stopping by to check everyone.  We are off to a meeting & making a Power Point program of the work/fun/friendship time we spent in SE Texas on the hurricane damaged homes.  A busy day - our daughter drove up for a short visit, after we had been to the gym, then, a gal had asked me over for lunch as I helped her with a quilt, then, I had a hair appointment, back home to fix dinner & put everything away & fold laundry, and now out for a couple of hours tonight when I feel like getting ready for bed.

Judy B:  You make lists as well?  I sure do before we leave the house & then hope to remember to bring the list.  You sure are optomistic about springtime coming just like Etta Sue -

So - gotta go.
Larry:  The pictures are just great.  What a beautiful quilt.

I can't believe it - I'm first again!  It's 6:30 here, so it's 9:30 EST.  Come ONNN!  It's also raining here.

Etta Sue

I'm here, Al!  I even got up earlier today but not by much.  I have cleaned the litter boxes, had breakfast, read my devotions and walked for 15 minutes.

Janet ~ My alarm is the morning sun most days and maybe a few more minutes!  I certainly don't want to go to bed at night before dark so I sleep later in the morning.  But I like it best when we didn't change the time...too many clocks in this house plus the car!

It is a balmy 41°F right now and is suppose to get into the HIGH 50's!  SPRING IS ON ITS WAY.   :-\  Just remembered.  That means yard mowing.  But at least, I am outside when riding the lawn mower.  Which reminds me.  I have a flat on the mower.  Hopefully it just needs air but the air compressor hasn't been working in cold weather.  Maybe this afternoon, I can put air in the tire.

I have been working with my Florida pictures.  280 pictures.  I chose 4 to take to Photography Guild Monday evening and now I need to choose 3 to take to a photo contest in Kokomo.  They have to be printed, matted and framed.  I sent an email to my church members and got a reply that a lady's father is going into assisted living and he used to be a professional photographer and he has many frames at a cost.  So I told her if they were 'cheap', I need three right now.  She is bringing some to church Sunday.  God is good.

Stay dry Al!

Etta, my alarm clocks are 5 and 2 years old.  :)  They wake up between 7:30 and 8:30 every morning, unless I need to be somewhere early, in which case they often awaken me around 9.  If we can sleep in and have nothing to do, they are pretty reliable to be awake by at least 6:45.

We are up, fed, and dressed.  Well, most of that, anyway.  Getting ready to do Trav's schoolwork.  Then, straighten the house before the weekend, and we will be set to "play" for the rest of the day. :)

Hope ya'll have a good weekend.  I will be shooting basketball all day tomorrow, so i may not be back until monday.  take care

Well.  We have hasd a bit of excitement today.  We have 5 spruce trees (about 75 feet tall) in the front of our house.  One has died so John decided to take it out giving us some more wood to burn.  As he was cutting the one down, the wind set up blowing toward the house.  John had the chain saw cutting and the tree settled on the chain saw.  He had to take a wedge and sledge hammer to free the saw, another gust of wind came and down the tree came.  We have a few shingles to replace, and the front porch.  The porch needs replacing anyway, so very little damage.  Our fear was having the tree come down on the house, causing megga damage.  Kassie's room could have been taken out.  Talk about God intervening.

I had a rough night last night.  Didn't sleep till around 5, and today I am paying for it.

Marilyn I am going to give John the Regenerist.  He is having major joint pain.  I will let you know when it arrives.

The girls are having trouble concentrating.  Time for a break maybe?  I was going to work through MArch break but I am reconsidering.  I am amazed at ELizabeth's determination to make up the year she lost. She will be there in math in about a week.  Same for health and Bible.  She was always the one with no motivation.  My what a difference!

I need to go, just know I am praying for all the needs represented here on CP.

Al (with apologies to the rest of you) the system is NOT wireless, but the person who installed it originally used every kind of wire you can imagine, from 12 conductor to cheap lamp cord!  It has been a real headache for Darrel to figure out, but since he's one smart guy, he did it!  The problem with the smoke detectors was that one had a wiring error.  :-[  Today, all he had left to do was figure out the wiring to the fire alarm, and since he's upstairs now, I guess he got that sorted out as well.  :)

Karma, I remember those alarms!  I had 5 of them!  ;)  Have a fun day with yours.

Etta Sue, I never seem to find a day with no obligations or appointments that I could sleep until the morning sun wakes me.  But it's okay, I have a wonderful life, and am enjoying living it!  It's mainly those mornings when I haven't been able to sleep that I would like to stay in bed longer.

JudyB, glad that tree did little damage.  Wow! :o Scary!  Do you mind my asking why you choose to home school the girls?

Hi, Carol!  You seem to stay really busy all the time too.  Do you think we need to learn better how to say "NO"?

My friend Pat colored and styled my hair for me this morning.  Tomorrow I am having a chair massage, a pedicure, a manicure and lunch!!  I will feel so pampered!  Never once in my life have I ever done all this, much less in one day; but it is one of the fund raisers at our church for our upcoming ladies conference.  So it's an opportunity I decided not to let pass. ^-^  Are you jealous?  ;)

I need to do some house cleaning.  See you later!

Colin, if you stop in, please know I'm thinking of you and you're still in my prayers.

Good morning to everyone!

Well its Saturday morning here in Australia and I finally have a few minutes to relax and drop in here for catch up! Everyone seems to be just as busy as I am LOL!

Two of my children started school this last week - my eldest son Isaiah, started High School and my 5 year old, Yowceph started Kindy. Out of my 6 boys, I only have 2 year old Moses, at home with me during the day now!

I've been taking photos but haven't had the time to add verses and text and post them on my website. Hopefully I can do that soon. :)  But the continued exposure for my photos in the public arena has continued, for which I am very grateful to the Lord. Here's a link to the latest online:  http://thehouseonarock.blogspot.com/2007/03/god-glorified-in-his-creation.html

I've been asked to write an Easter Production for our church, so that will take up most of my time over the next couple of weeks. :)

It's great to see you all and I'm praying that His blessings and favour will increase upon your lives.

:)

Janet the girls were homeschooled for 4 years. Then they went into the system.  Last March the principal called a meeting and told me it was time to homeschool again.  HE has given me books, and cirriculum help.  In Ontario this is almost unheard of.  I was totally floored.  BUT the girls realy had made little to no progress in the system and to do right by them I did as the principal said to do.  Having been in the system for the length of time that they were they appreciate the sacrifice that we are making.

Yes that was a close call with the tree.  God was protecting us.

John has taken his Mom shopping.  I have a few hours alone.  This is a first since last March.  This is nice.  I was talking to another HS mom and we are going to get together this Wednesday.  The kids can sled and Ange and I will talk probably about the coming years cirriculum.

Pat How is Judy?  How is Norm as well?

Well I must go.

Lots of interesting posts.  Love that cat, Etta Sue!

Another cloudy day here on the island.  No rain right this minute.  Getting so bad that I have to force the cat outdoors for some fresh air.  No one is making me go out there tho'....

I had a perm the other day.  So expensive now that one almost has to take out a loan.  Home perms don't work for me and no one left to give me one.  Looks better tho', especially if caught in the rain.

Watched the movie 'Cars' with a young boy that Wendy's friend is fostering.  Sort of a 'if only for a short time' substitute grammie.  Another visit is due on Tues. and we will watch the last part of the movie.  Popcorn, a movie and a coke.  He loves coming to visit.  A nice little fellow who has had a hard time and appreciates everything one does to make him safe.  We live in such a cruel world!

My curling teams have not done well in either the women or men's dept.  Tho' I do like the BC womens team who will go on to the world contest.  Waiting to see who takes the Briar.  US team will be in  the world contest at the end of March.  So Etta Sue, tune in and learn about curling..... ;)

Watched the Lost Tomb of Jesus and not impressed, did find the theology and history interesting.  Also the modern pictures of Israel.  Certainly would not make any difference to my faith.  Some would not like the idea that Jesus had brothers and sisters....none of it changes why Jesus died on the cross!

Small Smile:

TEACHER : Little Johnny, go to the map and find North America.
Little Johnny : Here it is!
TEACHER : Correct. Now, class, who discovered America?
CLASS : Little Johnny!

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Hi Everyone...

First of all, to answer your question, Judy, Judy McKenna is still in the Hamilton Hospital.  They've promised to move her to Guelph twice and the time came and went and she's not too sure what happened that she didn't get moved.  Maybe her bed in Guelph was needed by someone?  Norm is experiencing anxiety from all this turmoil which is so normal in this situation.

If anyone would like to phone Judy, please drop me a PM and I'll give you her phone number.

Colin, I've been praying for you since the homecall of your dear father.  I know how you're feeling.  I just couldn't accept the death of my dear father too easily.  Wish you were closer so I could give you a real hug.

Jeannine, I'm so sorry you are going through all this.  I'm praying for you as well.

I won't mention all by name.  I love you all.  My health has just been so horrible for over six weeks now.  I'm still using the puffers to try to get rid of the inflammation in my trachea hopefully that will work soon.  And I'm sitting waiting for the results of the tests I've been having.

I'm off to our Photo area and see what new photos have been posted.

Talk to you soon,

Pat

Hi everyone...the funeral service went well and God give me the grace to read my own poem out for my Dad. The most heartbreaking moment of the day for me was when they brought my father slowly down our road in the hearse and stopped at my mothers gate. My heart seemed to be hit with a sledge hammer. I have five sisters and three brothers and counting them and all our children and grandchildren and some great grandchildren..plus wifes and husbands and cousins...there was quite a crowd of the Moffett connection standing together beside the roadside. We all just stood in silence and looked at the hearse and coffin until it drove off towards the church. It was so moving. Thank you for all your prayers and prayers were indeed answered. I got grace to do my poem and the weather was dry until my Father was buried and then it rained out of the heavens. God bless. See you all later.

Pat:  Hello -  You have been so ill these past weeks but you don't dwell on it at least in your writings - my prayers for you.

Colin:  Such a tough time for you regarding your dad and what a lovely thought to stop the hearse at your mother's gate..  You have been blessed with good parents.

Liz:  We watched The Tomb show as well - and found it interesting, however, leaping to conclusions.  Maybe this is happening just to prove to a lot of folks that yes, Jesus did live on this earth.  All of this might turn the people to the truth - you never know.

It is late and I haven't had time to read the postings for the better part of two days.  Nothing wrong but just have been very busy with meetings and other things.

Colin, I feel for you.  That was an awesome poem and I am sure your father would have been very proud of you.

Jeannine, sure hope things are improving for Michael and your husband.

I have read all of the postings but it is too late tonight to comment on them so will just say goodnight.

Morning all,

So many needs for prayer! I am so thankful for a Heavenly Father who listens!

Pat ~ Still praying for you. I sincerely hope you get to feeling better soon, it's no fun feeling unhealthy. :(

Colin ~ God surely gave you the strength to do what you wanted to do for your dad, I know in my little corner of the world there were many prayers offered up for you and your family.  :aaah:

Hi to Marilyn, Kathleen, Janet, Etta Sue, Gord, Al, Larry, and everyone else I don't remember names for  :-[

Michael came home from the hospital yesterday morning, he had strep a, for the older folks they might remember it as being called scarlet fever because of the rash that accompanies fevers. Hubby is doing ok, still in, has a feeding tube like Michael now (oh boy), at least he will get nutrition now. Still a slow go though, guess that's to be expected after 11 hours of surgery and now another.

Car situation is ok, my friend from church loans us his when he is in Florida with his "patient", he is a home health aid. He is home this weekend so my SIL loaned me hers. Still trying to figure out one for us.  :uglystupid: Too much going on!

I hope and pray everyone has a God filled and blessed day!!!

Tomorrow morning we must get up early for church as our small work group that went to Texas is showing a Power Point and I have to say something about the 24 quilts we brought - others will be talking about the entire mission trip.  Some are already signing on for the July trip to South Dakota reservation but we don't think the timing is right for us this summer because we have to think about a drive to Montana and Washington.  Don & I won't go to Nicaragua either because that is just too difficult for us seniors.

I am wearing the lowest prescription glasses for the computer because I have been leaning forward & putting my back out - always something!  Actually, they are drug store glasses  :coffee:

Janet: What a relaxing time for you & a very different fund raiser.

Inspiried Gal:
You have a beautiful web site!

Janet

Happy Saturday, everybody.  I finally got up after 3 AM and took half a sleeping pill, then was able to sleep for about four hours.  Phooey.

I just have a little while before my appointment at the "spa" at church.  It sure is good to have everybody posting, and to learn bit by bit about each other's lives.  Amazing what good friends we become by just being here in this wonderful place.

I will get to have Abby for a days this next week, as she is on Spring Break.  We're both looking forward to that!

I will be back to post more later, after I have been "pampered!"

Goodmorning:  Sorry it is almost afternoon.

As I look out the window the sun is shinning but a few minutes ago it was cloudy with a hint of rain.

I had a slow time getting online but being Saturday I guess that is what the rest of the world is doing as well. As I set here I am waiting for a call from a friend to see if she is going with Sue & myself to what is called the girls night out at a local church, it is just an evening full of fun and laughs.

Perhaps it is time that I took notes than I would be able to respond to each of you.   Sorry.

Hi everyone.  Just back from being gone all morning and have just finished a bite of lunch.  There are a lot of basketball games on today and I will try to catch some of them.  Of course, will have to get in a little nap.

Jeannine, nice to see that Michael is better and back home and that your husband is making progress, even if slow.  I hope you are doing a few things to take care of yourself as it is so easy to neglect oneself when there are a lot of needs around us.

Pat, good to see you feeling up to making a few postings.  Hope you are feeling better.

Janet, I bet Abby is counting the moments until she can be with you and Darrel.

Carol, going to South Dakato in July doesn't sound very nice as it really gets hot up that way.  I also have some drug store glasses that I can use when I play the piano as after a few minutes my neck is hurting with my regular glasses on because I have to tilt my head up to use the bifocal part.  I don't seem to have that problem too much with the computer.

Ruth, enjoy your girls night out.  That sounds like a nice idea for the ladies.

Hi Everyone,

There are 3 nice pictures waiting to be enjoyed by you in the Gallery.  And there are also two from me in there, also. ;)

My thoughts for this Sunday morning...fresh bread, fresh coffee, The Passion of the Christ, and Romans 1...

I, Paul, am a devoted slave of Jesus Christ on assignment, authorized as an apostle to proclaim God's words and acts. I write this letter to all the Christians in Rome, God's friends.
The sacred writings contain preliminary reports by the prophets on God's Son. His descent from David roots him in history;  his unique identity as Son of God was shown by the Spirit when Jesus was raised from the dead, setting him apart as the Messiah, our Master.  Through him we received both the generous gift of his life and the urgent task of passing it on to others who receive it by entering into obedient trust in Jesus.  You are who you are through this gift and call of Jesus Christ!  And I greet you now with all the generosity of God our Father and our Master Jesus, the Messiah.

I am late today.  Kitty and I went to Pendleton Library to a Photograper Seminar.  A photographer from Bloomington talked about how to take better pictures.  I wasn't impressed simply because all his photos were black and white and of old stuff...buildings falling down, inside abandoned factories, statues in cemeteries,...things that I am surprised that they are still standing.  But it was free so I can't complain too much.

Then today was our 60 Chix luncheon.  Nine classmates and two guests attended.  Nice group!  Lots of talking, laughing, and eating!

Now it is laundry and I have to get more of my Florida pictures done.

DON'T FORGET TO MOVE YOUR CLOCKS UP ONE HOUR!!
