Hello all!  Lot's of posting so far.  I would try to reply to every one, but I'm afraid that I would forget something important. :)  Trust that if you posted needed prayer, I prayed for you, and I chuckled at the funny stuff, etc.

It is warming upin our part of the country right now.  As a matter of fact, it was thundering outside a few minutes ago.  My grandmother always said that meant a blizzard would hit in 10 to 12 days.  We did have a blizzard of '93, and it did thunder 10 or so days before it.  I sincerely hope that does NOT happen this time.  No blizzards.  Don't want a blizzard.

nards says HI!

Etta, if I have been reading correctly, you are due to go to Florida.  have a safe, warm trip!!!

Take care everyone!

Good Morning Lots of rain here I think  Nita sent it down to us from Oregon. Well actually she didn't it came from Alaska. So it is a cold rain.

Nothing new since I last posted. Went to a business meeting last night and willg o to Bible Study tonight. Today after Curves I will be team teaching my Tai Chi class, then I will go to the Hospital to see Ruth. When I get back home I need to make some phone calls to set up some follow up appointments while I have  some time off.

Hi everyone.

Just back from the Bible study at the church where we had Bible study with our minister.  There were about 20  there this morning, most of whom are seniors.

It was raining pretty heavily this morning but stopped around 10 am so hope it is over for today.  We are expecting the refrigerator repair lady this afternoon as our refrigerator side of the refrigerator has been on the blink for about a week.  Sure hope she can fix it today and not have to order a part or something.  It has really been inconvenient not having it working and have gotten bye with two coolers in which we have kept ice.

Think I am in for the rest of the day.  We had choir practice last evening so don't have to go to that tonight.  Our choir director had to go out of town today with her school kids for some type of state chorus contests and this is Ash Wednesday and our church is having Ash Wednesday services tonight so we would have had a short practice anyway.  I do not plan on attending this service tonight.

Our daughter has gone back to the ER this morning.  They sent her home from work yesterday with a terrible cough and a temperature.  This morning she still is feeling very bad and her sugar count was 429.  She just called us from the ER and said she still hasn't been seen but her sugar is down to 280+.  The timing is terrible as she is in the third week of her job.

While I was at church this morning the housekeeper was here and she and Pat took down a single bed that was here in my office so I now have a lot more room and can keep my electric piano setup, which will be nice.  I can set up a card table if I need more space for papers on occasion.

It is good to see everyone posting.

Carol

This house is slowly getting organized again.  We are laughing over an email our granddaughter Elise sent to her mother while we were staying with her.  "Grandma & Grandpa are really fun and nice but they take me places without asking me".  I don't recall ever "asking" my children if they wanted to go someplace when I needed to run errands - her mother is giving her a little lecture for this but we thought it was so funny.

Feeling more rested today & even exercised a little this morning.  Thanks all for your concern - I should have no complaints for right now there are more than a few friends, and aquaintences who are doing battle with breast cancer, and other scarey things.

Carol

Janet

I'm late again today--been hustling!!  But I have gotten a lot accomplished, and I'm happy about that.  Darrel is on his way home from Liberal, and after I talk to him, I need to go back to town to get some paperwork done for Beth, about her disability, etc. and take her some water.

It is springlike and very sunny here today!  8)  That makes me happy!!  But the news is that my town is under a flood watch!  There is a creek called Bear Creek, which comes down from Colorado, and it causes flooding here about every 15-20 years.  Since they have had lots of snow in Colorado and all the way here, they are expecting another flood.  I hope it doesn't rise enough to get us!

Carol, that's cute about Elise.  How old is she?  I'm sure she didn't expect that her parents would tell you about the email!  ;)  I don't recall asking my kids if they wanted to go, either, when I had to go somewhere, just told them to get in the car!  :)

Ruth Ann, our electronic piano has a plug in place for earphones, but we don't yet have the earphones.   It is sad for you to have to sell your acoustic piano, as I imagine it is like an old friend to you.  Bless your sweet heart.  And I hope you get a good report, and don't have to see the roto-rooter people!

Larry, I'm so sorry to hear of Stacey's latest set-back.  Seems some people, like her, Beth and Wendy, just have more bad stuff happen than their share.  I'm sure God has His reasons for allowing those things in their lives, but as parents, it sure is hard for us to understand.

Hey there, Karma and Nards.  You two (plus two!) are special to us here on CP, and it's always good to have you pop in.

I have written, emailed, printed, folded, stamped and addressed my family reunion newsletters and got the snail mail ones out in the mailbox.  I'm always happy when that chore is finished each month.  :)

Where or where is Colin?  Hey, you gipe, get in here and talk to us!  We miss you!

Marilyn, I expect you will enjoy having a bit of time off work.

We leave early tomorrow morning for Horn Creek, Colorado and a few days of fun!! :D

Carol that is too funny!

You are too busy for me Janet, there is no way I can keep up to you.

Larry I continue to pray for your daughter.

I have just been handed a cup of tea.  It is sure hitting the spot!

We have had a situation brewing for a couple of weeks now.  John's mom lives on the top floor in an apartment building.  Two weeks ago the elevator was broken down for over a week.  It worked again for about a week and then went down again.  In talking to the property manager we found out that it will need to be completely replaced.  The eta?  16 - 18 weeks!  This means either the old folks are stranded in their apartments, or the super needs to call the fire department to have them carry the folks down the stairs. This is to be done for 4 months????? I don't know, but if that is actually going to take that long, we will bring Mother to our house till the elevator work is completed. That will be less stressful for her.

The weather is considerably milder today.  33°F  We are out of the deep freeze, into the milder temps.

Pat how is JudyMcK?

Well I am off for now, be back later.

Hi, friends,

It's bee3n a busy day today, culminating in a wonderful time of dinner and fellowship with my wonderful grandson and my sweet daughter. We had a lovely time together at a nice Italian restaurant.

The youngun's have gone to see a movie together, but Grandma came home - too tired to stay up much longer.

It's strange how short the days get when a person's got a few years on them. :)

At least, I tire easily after about 9 pm. Used to be able to work all night when need be, but think that time's long gone (and probably a good thing it is!!! <chuckle>).

Y'all have a good evening.

Me, too, Ruth Ann.  After 10 PM I might as well go to bed, my mind shuts off anyway.  ;)  (Or it seems like it.)  Glad you had a nice time with daughter and grandson.

We just got home from church and for some reason, our telephones are dead.  Darrel is looking for the cause.

Ruth, most of our snow has melted now, but still lots of ice on the North side of buildings.  It may be there a while.  Glad you are getting warmer temps.

Judy B. I'm sure you have as hectic a schedule as me, only more so, with those girls to raise, and all their activities to keep up with.  We all do what we feel is important, or what we really want to do.  Plus all those "necessary" things.  I'm just really enjoying living, these days!  :)

I need to go check more phones; seems there must be one off the hook somewhere.

See you lovely folks when I get home from colorful Colorado!

Edit:  Darrel found a phone off the hook upstairs in his office.  We are connected again!  :)

Just thought I'd share a photo with you that is certainly a sign of spring.

Quite near to us is a conservation area and this little creek is almost dry most of the summer but look at the raging torrent in it as the snow is melting...

That's a cool picture Pat.  My son is anxiously awaiting Spring.  One, he wants to go fishing and two, we are going to a Warbird Memorial (an informal airshow) in April.  He is soooooo ready.

And yes, I am too.  :)

Sorry this is so short, but I've got to run and do Trav's school work with him.

Take care and be good.

Good Morning

Ruth has already called me and so has her neighbor. Neither of them can tell me what the problem is. I have been cleaning up my kitchen ,the dogs had footprints all over becaure of the rain and the maintenence man is coming today to install a ceiling fan in there. Yep it is still raining here.

Great Bible study lastnight. The Spirit was sure moving  among those 8 of us who braved the rain to be there.

A dental cleaning this morning - they called last minute & said there was an opening.  I don't suppose I will get a price break for running up there  ;D  They know me as the woman who tells them the price is much too expensive for ordinary people for sure.   :ticked:

Janet:  We hope that you do not have flooding.  Around here, everyone is watching as well as temp is rising once again after more than two months of harsh winter.  Do you think your life is a little less stressful now that Beth is safe and being cared for or does it make it harder for you not being there daily?  I hope your life is less stressful and she has loving friends and knows you have done so much for her.

Larry:  I meant to mention Stacey but if I don't write it down - there the thought goes....poof.  It has to be heart wrenching for all of you when she just got this job and there comes another attack.  Hugs to you and Pat and prayers for Stacey.

JudyB:  You know children are so funny in what they really think.  You are right to bring John's mom to a safe place - all those stairs can't be good for her.

Pat:  Lovely picture of the water but sure hope you don't have a flood.  The colors of nature are so much more beautiful.  Hope you have a great report from your doc.

karmat:  You are already planning April?  That's the spirit!

Gotta go - the dentist needs my check for feeding her horses..........

Well life gets more bizzar and complicated by the day.  Mom's home care is away so she refused having anyone else. She tried to bath herself today....I may have to go over and bath her tomorrow.   Also the building super has said there is a meeting in the common room today at 2. . . .   That is down 6 levels of the building.  How do they think the people are going to get there????  I told mom not to worry as we are in touch with the office and they are keeping John up to date.  How crazy is that?  We are really hoping the elevator gets replaced quickly, so that mom can keep her independence as long as possible.  This is her wish as well.

On a lighter note.  We have a young cocker spaniel called Stitches.  Yesterday she was out playing with our doberman and to move in the snow she has to jumo up and out.  Now bear in mind the snow is up to the top of her sholders.  It is so funny watching her try to catch Dana, and all dana has to do is run.  The snow is about up to Dana's knees!  The girls have built a fort in the back, Dana chases Stitch and all Stitch has to do is get on the top of the fort and she is safe.  It is so funny to watch.

The day is quite mild. 36.8°F  and it is snowing.  John has a part time job plowing snow, and will be gone all day.  It is quiet in the house with him gone.

That's all folks.  Have a God day,
JudyB

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.

First a quick report on our daughter.  She has bronchitis but, as far as we know, she went back to work today.  She went to the ER sometime after 8 a.m. and when she called at 3 p.m. she was still waiting to be seen.  She was finally released around 9 p.m.  but they had not given her anything to eat nor her insulin.  It was too late for her to get the bus back to her apartment so she asked us to come to downtown Atlanta and pick her up.  We did that, getting their a little after 10.  It was 11:30 before we got back home.  Sure wouldn't want to do that very often.

The refrigerator lady was here around 6 pm and immediately knew the problem was the freezer coils, from which the refrigerator gets its cooling, were frozen up.  She gook the food out of the freezer, took off the back panel and got out her hair dryer and spent 45 minutes or so freeing up the ice.  She has to order new parts for it and will be back next week as soon as they get here to replace them.  In the meantime the refrig is working again and she said it will work fine for several days until the ice builds up again.  So we are ok over the weekend.

I was gone all morning as after coffee stopped at the library, then stopped to talk with an insurance agent as am considering changing our insurance package. then to the barbershop, back to the insurance agent to pick up the quotes and finally home about noon.  Pat and I have a meeting to attend this evening.  So it has been a busy day.  Ruth Ann, I sure agree with your statement about the days being so short.  It seems like I get so little done each day.

JudyB, sure sorry to hear of the elevator problems where John's mother lives.  That is the last thing they need where there are a lot of elderly people.

Marilyn, it sounds like Ruth is very dependent on you.

Pat, your beautiful picture looks like you were standing in the middle of the stream.  Hope you are feeling much better.

Janet and others, glad to read that your weather is moderating.  Maybe a lot of that snow will melt.  Sure hope flooding doesn't become an issue.

Well, I don't have time this afternoon to comment to each person other than to say hi again as have several things I want to work on.

Ruth Ann Bice

Hi, friends,

Well, the nurse called and I don't have a carotid blockage - thanks be to God.

I do, however, have the anemia once again. It's such a small thing to complain about in the whole scheme of things, but I've fought anemia all my life, and get very tired of dealing with it. That's so strange, because I don't have a problem with my diabetes, at all. Just the anemia.

Oh, well, I'll be a good gal and take my iron pills.  :ticked:

It was such a busy day at work that the day literally flew past. I have an alarm on my cell phone to remind me to eat each meal, and had it not been for the alarm today, I most likely would have forgotten to eat.

About the dentist - my appointment is not until sometime in March, so there's no worry about the appt at this time, Carol.

Sorry you're having such an odd time of it, Judy B.

Y'all take care. I hope Etta Sue is having a good time on her vacation getaway.

G'nite, all.

Hi Everyone!

Time for bed for me.  Well, I've been in and out of my bed so often during the past nearly 3 weeks, that I wouldn't mind just staying away from it altogether!

Nice to see you Nards.

I'm just saying "Hello" to everyone tonight as I'm feeling very tired.  The doctor today changed some medications and also changed a puffer and now, I'm feeling the effects.

So, I'll chat with you tomorrow.

Ohhh, I forgot!

What I came to tell you was that Judy McKenna is still in the hospital.  She thought that she was going to get home last Monday but she wasn't well enough and she's been to Hamilton with the hospital transportation to see the surgeon down there and he wants to operate again on this pesky hip so that it doesn't keep dislocating.

She might go tomorrow.

Good morning, everyone.  Looks like I'm first today...

I've really been drawing strength from Psalm 91 lately.  "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty."  While the verse is conditional to those that "dwell with God", it is a mighty reassurance to know that I am in the shadow of the Almighty and NOTHING can befall me that is not in His control.  That doesn't mean I've always got a grip on things, but it's still a verse I lean on.

I hope all of you have a good day.  Karma is going shopping in Pigeon Forge with her mom, so keep them in your prayers as they spend a little over 4 hours on the road.

Good to see you checking in, Nards.  I prayed for Karma and kids as soon as I read it.  I just recently received a printed sermon by David Wilkerson from Chris Saunders.  It was about Christ's peace given to us.  I'd certainly urge you (all) to ask him to send it to you as well.
