Morning Devotional...

Personal Life:
Be Thou Exalted

The Lord lives! Blessed by my Rock! Let God be exalted, the Rock of my salvation!
2 Samuel 22:47

O God, be Thou exalted over my possessions. Nothing of earth's treasures shall seem dear unto me if only Thou art glorified in my life. Be Thou exalted over my friendships. I am determined that Thou shalt be above all, though I must stand deserted and alone in the midst of the earth.

Be Thou exalted above my comforts. Though it mean the loss of bodily comforts and the carrying of heavy crosses, I shall keep my vow made this day before Thee.

Be Thou exalted over my reputation. Make me ambitious to please Thee even if as a result I must sink into obscurity and my name be forgotten as a dream.

Rise, O Lord, into Thy proper place of honor, above my ambitions, above my likes and dislikes, above my family, my health and even my life itself.

Let me decrease that Thou mayest increase; let me sink that Thou mayest rise above. Ride forth upon me as Thou didst ride into Jerusalem mounted upon the humble little beast, a colt, the foal of an ass, and let me hear the children cry to Thee, "Hosanna in the highest."
Dr. Tozer in The Pursuit of God, 101-102.

"In my increasing knowledge of You, Lord, and as I spend more time in solitude and silence before You, this prayer becomes so logical. Be Thou exalted in my life. Amen."

Good Morning All,

Seems I'm first this "bright and cheerful" morning. Funny, it's still dark here. ;D

Been keeping up with reading the posts and pray for each person. Been kind've quiet too. Thank you Pat for the devotional, I needed to see it in "black and white" even though I "Know" it. Putting God ahead of all else is a blessing in itself.

I've told you of our transportatoin problems. A friend at church yesterday had a thought "strike" him and he folllowed up on it and emailed me. A friend of ours goes to FL during the winter with his client, he is a home health aide, and leaves his car here. Jim talked to him and we can use it while he is down there until we either figure something else out or he gets back, whichever comes first. God is sooooo good!!! This will be a big help since we are going to have a major increase in doctors visits now that we know Frank has cancer and the doctor is very urgent in getting things figured out and started to combat this.

Thank you all for your prayers! I love ya!  <3

Have a God filled and blessed day! TTYL

I can hardly see out of my eyes..I was not in bed until 3:00am and wakened about 5:30am. Quick hello..lovely devotional Pat...sorry about your car trouble and glad you were not hurt. You have a beautiful voice! I love the way Americans and Canadians talk.

Jeannine....you and your husband are in my prayers and also of course Michael. Take care.

Janet..Clifford did not seem to mention your name yesterday. I will investigate the matter. :clobber: Thank you anyway..that was really nice of you.

Hello to everyone else....I only stop in here for my tea and I never get any...you are all in your beds and the tea pot is threw into a corner and I cant find any cups and no milk. I am away somewhere else for my tea. :coffee:

I hope to be here later....I give you that warning so you will have time to lock the door to keep me out! :'(

See you.....no I cant! :uglystupid:

I am off for an eye doctor appointment soon.  This is the one month check-up after cataract surgery.  It sure is easier nowadays.

Pat:  Many thanks for the reminder message today - nothing really belongs to us.

Colin:  Do you use tea bags or is that considered awful?

The radio and the TV around here is buzzing up a storm with the news that the Colts are in the SuperBowl.  They have tried so hard for years but the Patriots always beat them.  I wish now that I had watched the second half but at the end of the first half...well, I thought it was a repeat of years past.  I will be glued to the TV February 4th though.  The Bears doesn't have a chance..... :clobber: :uglystupid:

I called Kitty in Ohio this morning.  Today is her birthday.  She is going to come home this morning or afternoon.  She doesn't do rain or snow well on the roads.  Hopefully she will be okay.  It is snowing real fine snow right now.  I don't know if it is suppose to accumulate or not.  She said she would get behind a semi and go!

I don't have a thing on my slate until February 2nd when I am to go out with Tony and Charlene for Tony's birthday.  That feels good...especially in January when you never know what the weather will be.

Hi Colin...I have missed your banter.  Funny, I love the way the Irish talks.  And I don't think Pat and I talk anything alike!  I love her accent!  My grandmother was Irish.  That's probably why she has probably 50 descendants that are/were red heads!  Not me, though.  I didn't get the red hair...just the Irish temper!

Earthlink must be messed up still.  My top animation isn't showing right now.

Janet

Etta Sue, I see that cute puppy dog wagging his tail!  ;)  I was really rooting for the Colts!  I knew they hadn't been to the Superbowl, and thought they deserve to go.  (Darrel tells me this stuff or I wouldn't have a clue!)  I think it's great that both teams have dedicated Christian coaches--what a testimony!!  So I will be rooting for them (Colts) to to win on Feb. 4 as well.  Darrel agrees with you that the Bears do not stand a chance.  ;)

Pat, good devotional today.  How are you doing?  Still 'meeting yourself coming back?"

I need to get in to see Beth today; it's been about four days now.  The road is next to impassable, but I think I can do it.  Have a couple other errands to do as well.

Colin, that's okay.  I'm rather used to being overlooked.  But I wanted you to know I did make the effort to get a song played for you.  I didn't know what to request, so left the choice to him.  We won't lock the door, but may stand behind it to give you a good scare!  ;D

Time to get with the program!

I am dropping off my feet..I am! I am nearly too tired to type.

Hi Etta Sue.....if you have an Irish temper what a sweet easy going person you are! :ticked:  I have tried to introduce some Americans to this word GIPE...which is one of our words for a silly fun loving person or acting silly..or as we say...acting the buck eejit :uglystupid:  Now when you see me approaching you can say ...here is that gipe coming! I think Etta Sue is a gipe runing around with her head foaming with shampoo. Powerful! ^-^

Carol....tea bags are grand. I am used to a high tea....very posh you know me...I just hold the teapot away up from the cup and pour it in...high tea...GIPE :uglystupid:

Janet...I would never dare overlook you and thank you very much for requesting for me. Feel free to do it again and then the listeners will be thinking that boy Moffett is very big in America!

Right...I have a newsletter to write and I need to sleep so I shall go now!

Afternoon,

Etta Sue ~ the only animation of yours i see is your sig, for some strange reason IE7 and AOL Openride are not showing them  ??? Weird.

Colin ~ Good to see you here and thanks, we need all the help we can get at this time and they are going to get goofier  :idiot:  By the way, why would we want your feet when it's the rest of ya that's much more fun?

Hi Marilyn, Janet, Kathleen, Pat, Al, Larry, Ruth Ann, and everyone else who's names escape me at the moment. I pray you all have a Blessed day!

Jeannine, so happy to read that you will have transportation!!  It seems to me that is a necessity, and even more so when you have people needing to go to doctors!  God bless the kind person who is lending you a vehicle.

Colin, you GIPE, we do enjoy you!  And you are BIG here in America---and Canada!  :)

I took Beth's dog to visit her while I worked out and did my other errands.  She got a new mattress that uses air, maybe now she can sleep in bed instead of her recliner.

Time to go, again.

Good morning all! :)

I would love to come and roll in your snow and cool off!!! LOL! Feels like we are in a sauna over here ...

We have a very busy week ahead including the grand closing celebration of my Photographic Exhibition on Saturday. The local newspaper interviewd me a few days ago and even sent their staff phorographer to take photos of me taking photos for use in the story they have written about the Exhibition and our return to India as missionaries. I truly find these opportunities in the secular arena the hand of God moving in a mighty way. All praise be to Him.

I'm well now but have an appointment with my heart specialist on Wednesday and would ask you to pray that I'd be given the all clear. Thank you. :)

Have a great day!

Love, :)

Colin, I just finished my tea and a very nice peanut butter cookie that my daughter had baked.  Taking a break from a large stack of ironing and not too anxious to return to the task.  I went to your station and it said something about a Pirate Station....what does that mean.  Will go back and check things out when time permits.

Rain and more rain....which is better than the snow and more snow.  We should be looking forward to counting cherry blossoms....not likely to happen in the near future.  Misty is back inside after returning looking like a very large wet rat.  The neighbours cat is dozing in our garage, they work and he was sooooo wet and sad!  I am beginning to feel like one of those elderly ladies who collects cats ::)

Have been rather ill and staying close to home the past while.  Lack of sunshine is  taking it's toll on everyone.  Even the animals are in a rather bad mood now.  Critters can act like young kids sometimes.....They have been acting very strange the past few days, so hope we are not in for another earthquake or severe something or other...funny how they seem to sense these things.

Come to read and pray for those who are in need.  Has anyone heard from Alma?  What terrible stress for them.

Does this seem like something that happens in your lives?

Three older ladies were discussing the travails of getting
older. One said, "Sometimes I catch myself with a jar of
mayonnaise in my hand in front of the refrigerator and can't
remember whether I need to put it away or start making a
sandwich."

The second lady chimed in, "Yes, sometimes I find myself on
the landing of the stairs and can't remember whether I was
on my way up or on my way down."

The third one responded, "Well, I'm glad I don't have that
problem; knock on wood," as she rapped her knuckles on the
table. Then she told them, "That must be the door; I'll get
it!"

                                    :)

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

:D  ;D Liz that was so funny.  ;D  :D

I have been sitting here for close to two hours with my  cell phone plug in my ear waiting for a phone call. Dogs didn't get to go for their walk  either.

I took Ruth to the Senior center today the menu was Sweet and Sour pork over egg noodles and some vegetables, salad and mandarin oranges. I didn't eat the noodles.

My call has come through got to go now.

Hi, friends,

Well, a bit of stress was lifted off my shoulders at work today. A project that required way too much of my time has been assumed by someone who has done it many times before. I'm so very relieved.

Janet, my friend who was in the hospital for a year had a bed like the one I think Beth has now. She did well and didn't get bedsores, either, although she is VERY heavy.

Jeannine, I'm so thankful you have the use of the car. How wonderful that your friend put the lender and y'all together.

Colin, keep on being here, we love it!

Marilyn, hope the phone call was taken care of in good fashion. It must have been really important since you dropped everything to wait for it to come in.

Pat, take care of yourself.

Shutterbug, you have had a difficult time - hopefully your doctor's appointment will be a good one and you can leave with a sense of satisfaction from the reports.

I surely am sorry to hear you've been ill, Liz. Thank you for coming to be with us again.

And, if I didn't mention your name, please know I read, enjoy, and pray over each person who posts.

Y'all have a good evening.

Ruth Ann

Hello Everyone...

Sometimes life can really hit hard but it's great to know that we have a Father who sticketh closer than a brother!

My life has been full of ups and downs lately and some of you already know that on Saturday as I was on my way to a meeting very close to my home, I was involved in a car accident.

The lady who backed out of her driveway into my car has been charged by my poor car isn't in very good shape.

You can see some photos here... Pat's Photo-a-Day Project

Yes, I'm fine--just very sore from the tense muscles but glad the dog wasn't with me as that's the side of the car that was hit.  They towed it away today to get an estimate.  Hopefully they will consider fixing it as it's a 1995 which is maybe a bit old for them to decide to put that much money into it.

All of this strife and time of troubles made me think of the words of this hymn...

THROUGH IT ALL
(Click to hear music)

BY ANDRAE CROUCH

I've had many tears and sorrows,
I've had questions for tomorrow,
There have been times
I didn't know right from wrong.
But in every situation -
God gave blessed consolation,
That my trials come only to make me strong.

I thank God for the mountains,
I thank Him for the valleys
I thank Him for the storms
He brought me through.

For if I'd never had a problem
I wouldn't know that He could solve them,
I'd never know what faith in God can do.

Chorus:
Through it all -- through it all,
I've learned to trust in Jesus,
I've learned to trust in God.
Through it all -- through it all,
I've learned to depend upon His Word.

Well I am home from small group.  We had a great time discussing the 20th chapter of John.

There is a lady in our church who has been diagnosed with brain cancer.  God forgive me when I grumble about sore knees.

Kassie has joined Air Cadets.  What a wonderful time she had meeting up with others from our church and school.  She enjoyed the classes as well, so another cadet in the house.

Pat take care and give Geordie a hug from John and I.

I am off, I have research to do for John.

Night all

Thanks Marilyn and Nita for the comments left on my blog!

Hi everyone...here for the tea! Oh...no..Marilyn has scoffed all the chocolate biccies...you are a greedy gorb and you told me you would leave me some. :'(

Hi Liz...sorry you are not well and hope you get better soon. Radio North actually broadcasts from the South of Ireland. It really does not have a licence to broadcast..hence it is called a pirate station...but the Irish government turn a blind eye to it. There are many stations like that in Ireland.

Hi Ruth Ann Bice..thank you...I like being here. Hope you are well.

I have decided to share with you my latest poem. I am very humbled to know a lady in Canada is going to put it on her fridge door so her sons and husband can read it everytime they go there and another lady in Estonia wants it to use in her Newsletter.  I wrote it out of frustration and despair and a feeling of helplessness. You will understand when you read it. I love you all here. I love your friendship and fellowship. You will never know how much this all means to me. Thank you for being friends.

PLEASE LISTEN

I have wept with many tears
Exhausted myself in prayer
Told you of my Saviour
And still you do not care

I see the fire ahead
The awful burning flame
I want to rescue you from it
But my words seem weak and lame

My soul is in agony
What more can I do
I see you in great danger
And I am weary in warning you

I see the flames leap higher
See you drift to them each day
I stand here before you
To try and bar your way

I point you to Jesus
Willing and able to save
Put your trust in Him
Before you reach the grave

I would burn my hand for you
To pull you from the fire
My heart is breaking to see you
Sinking deeper in the mire

Do you think I am happy?
To see you every day
Hurrying towards your destruction
On the broad and crowded way

My throat is hoarse in pleading
But still I try to call
Won't you come to Jesus?
Before in the lake of flames you fall

Why will you perish?
Why won't you take His Hand?
My words fall on deaf ears
I can't make you understand

But then not my voice but His
Is the one that is calling you
He use me for His purpose
And I speak His words so true

For one more time please listen
Rushing on your way so fast
The next step could be journey's end
And all hope for you will be past

AMEN Colin on that poem.  I see people dying every day and my heart breaks too.  Oh and about those chocolate
biccies, I ate some too! Boy they were really good!

Pat Take it easier today and let those muscles rest!

We have more snow coming down today.  It looks so beautiful, it is staying on the trees postcard perfect.

Well Have to get busy and get more research done.

Have a God day everyone.

Ouchie, Pat.  Sorry about the car.  Hope everything works out okay.

Janet, does Beth's mattress stay inflated, and "rotate" the air underneath her body?  My dad had one like that when he was bedfast.  It help prevent "pressure sores" (bedsores) from forming, and the ones that had already formed from getting worse.  It was also infintely more comfortable for him than a regular mattress.

I twisted my ankle yesterday and down I went.  Of course my first reaction was to look around and make sure no one saw me. :)  It's stiff and sore, but I can walk on it okay.  Just aggravating.

Hope everyone is doing well.  I think I'll pull for the colts as well.  :)

laters, all.

Etta Sue

Colin~ The word gipe.  Now is the 'g' hard like in Grrrrr!  Or soft as in Jiminy Cricket.  And I am assuming the 'i' is a long I as in eye.  If I am a gipe I want to pronouce it correctly!   :idiot:  Love your poems.  Did you know I have a folder in My Documents titled Colin Moffett Poems?  I still think you ought to have them published and then I and all of CP can say, "We know that author!"   :D

Pat ~ I also left a comment on your PAD.  I was already registered but with my old email address.

Janet ~ How is Beth doing?  My Mom had one of those air bed with a motor on it to circulate the air.  No bedsores at all.  And she said the hum of the air rushing made her sleep well.

Marilyn ~ I am glad you got your tent garage back up.  Nice not to have to scrape windows, isn't it?

Jeannine ~ Seems as though my animations are having a mind of their own.  Now you see them, now you don't.  We will see today.  Also my signature is earthlink but it shows!   :uglystupid:   :idiot:

Karen ~ It sure doesn't seem like a month has went past since you started your photos in the gallery.  Hope you made lots of money for your missionary trip.

Liz ~ I liked your funny.  Isn't it wonderful that we can laugh about ourselves.  Some days, I feel like those three women...some days all three the same day!!

Ruth Ann ~ I am so glad you got some of the work load taken away.  I can't imagine myself working full time now.  But it has been almost 14 years since I retired.

JudyB ~ We were suppose to have flurries during the night but I can't see it on the ground.  Our grass is covered with snow but the pavements are clear.  And it is partly sunny/cloudy today.

Karma ~ You jumped in here while I was composing.  Sorry about your fall.  Baby that ankle as much as you possible can while chasing after two little ones and one big one.   ::)  And yes!  Root for the Colts!! <3

I slept in this morning.  I got a phone call from my Urologist saying the labs were fine...no infections.  Then I decided to just stay in bed and soak.  The phone rang again and it was Kitty wanting to know if I wanted to go to Castleton with her.  I had to say No.  I had to shower and wash my hair and she was ready to leave right then.

So today is a do-nothing day! Also if you were to be in Central Indiana, you would see Blue everywhere.  Yesterday at WalMart people were buying Colts everything from coffee mugs to leather jackets with the Colts name and horseshoe on them.  Colts mania!  YEAH!  Indy has been hoping to play in the SuperBowl since Indy got the Colts from Baltimore in 1984!  And what a testimony to God for both coaches...Bears and Colts...to be fine upstanding, Christian men!

Good Morning. I am almost ready for work. I have been cleaning in my kitchen. i have to do my own domestic chores whenever I have a few minutes to get something done. I never know  how long I will be with Ruth from day to  day. It all depends on what her needs are.

Tomorrow I will not be taking her to the Senior Center for dinner/lunch because  the fare offered is not appealing to her taste. So will will use that time to do her domestic chores, bathe and shampoo her. Then I will fix her hair and prepare her dinner. (BTW Dinner=lunch and Supper =dinner so I won't put the slash in any more.)

Today at the Senior Center I will be getting a 15 minute Chair Massage for a $5.00 donation, ya can't beat that price with a stick.   :-X

Karma ouch I hate when that happens and it happens to  me more often than I like. Always stepping off the back step and missing the brick  block walkway on one side.

Colin You got that all wrong I didn't eat any of the biccies I left a whole plate for you. It was whoever came in while I was gone  <3. Must have been JudyB and Pat. Unless it was some Gipe who snuck in.

Gotta go now and put the chairs back int he kitchen and the dog dishes back on the floor.

Hi Etta Sue you posted while I was typing. he tent/garage is not  back up yet we have rain coming in in a day or two.

G'Mornin' all y'all!  I have been reading   listening to all y'all for the past couple days and decided it was time for me to speak up.

Okay, I'll confess ... I had a few of the chocolate biccies this morning ...  :-[  I couldn't help myself -- they are sooooo good!

Pat~I looked at your photos ... go there pretty often ... but my computer froze and I had to close down.   :-\  I will try again later, but I don't have gmail so guess I won't be able to comment there.   :(

Take care of those sore muscles.   <3

I got a phone call while I was here earlier, so that's why my post is delayed from when I was reading here.

I have stuff to get done now, so will get to it now and I'll be back later.......
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Nita

Good morning, all.

Just a quick check in to see what you're all up to.  No sense in looking for the chocolate biccies. :)

Today I take the dogs for shots, and then later I go to the doctor.

I'm hoping that my son will get over to paint the rest of the room upstairs so that we can get it dry and the carpet down.  His ex girlfriend(son's mom...my grandson, Kaleb's mom)had to have surgery, so Skeet has Kaleb for the week.  It's harder to paint when the kids are underfoot, so I'm finding little games for him to play on the computer.  That should keep him busy while dad paints.

My daughter, Kim, is playing keyboard and singing a beautiful song while I type this.  "Be Unto Your Name".   I could listen to her play forever.  I think of the angel's singing when I hear her.  Her music is anointed.  I tried to made an mp3 so you could hear her.  I still haven't figured out how to get the quality.  We get a lot of background noise. :(

love to you all, dear family members in Christ.  Nita

So we know who the guilty parties are now Marilyn who took the choc piccies! Shame on them..and you wonder why I dont turn up for my tea at times when there is nothing left but crumbs on a plate.

Hi Nita and Jane..nice to see you both. Still got chocolate round your lips Jane!

I am going to call it a night..good idea for it is night with me. Ooops..I nearly forgot what Etta Sue said...er..what did you say..it must be on the other page. Something about having a collection of my poems I think..I am too lazy to check back. Well I have checked back back a bit and cant see it..maybe I was dreaming...thank you anyway Etta Sue..that is really nice of you. I had little booklets published for charity and I would really like to do another publication perhaps with a better cover on them. A lot of people have asked me to do this. I will have to get started it. Ok..goodnight everyone..sorry if I have not mentioned you all by name. 0:-)

Hi Everyone,

Just thought I'd post a picture of a GIPE.

Just kidding!

Etta Sue, this MANDARIN is in a bird aviary in the Asa Zoo in Hiroshima.  That's why it has the band on it's leg.  Or is it popular duck-punk fashion? ^-^

I'm reading Mark, so...

John the Baptizer appeared in the wild, preaching a baptism of life-change that leads to forgiveness of sins.  People thronged to him from Judea and Jerusalem and, as they confessed their sins, were baptized by him in the Jordan River into a changed life.  John wore a camel-hair habit, tied at the waist with a leather belt. He ate locusts and wild field honey.

As he preached he said, "The real action comes next: The star in this drama, to whom I'm a mere stagehand, will change your life.  I'm baptizing you here in the river, turning your old life in for a kingdom life. His baptism—a holy baptism by the Holy Spirit—will change you from the inside out."

:) My!  Lots of good stuff to read here since yesterday!
And some not so good, namely, Pat's accident.  Pat, I did go look at the pictures, but cannot remember my password, so it wouldn't post my comments.  I do hope you are feeling better now.  Maybe a few gentle stretching exercises would help.  ((((hugs))))

Drat!  I missed the chocolate biccies, too.  So I'm not among the guilty, Colin.  I love chocolate (doesn't everyone?)  ;)  I am saving your poem, too, as it really speaks to my heart.  Thanks for sharing it.  You're a great poet, especially for a gipe!  ^-^

Several asked about Beth's new mattress.  Yes, it is what they call alternating pressure, the kind used to prevent or help heal pressure sores.  I'm so happy she doesn't have any pressure sores, and they do skin assessments on her often.  But she could only sleep in her bed for about two hours before her back hurt so much she would ring for them to come and put her in her recliner.  Some nights she never got in the bed at all.  She's had this since last Friday, and says she sleeps in it.  Those are really expensive!!!!  I couldn't believe what they told me---$700.00 per MONTH!! :o  They didn't say for how long!  So I asked what the purchase price would be.  Since her doctor ordered it, Medicare might pay for it, if the care home agrees to bill them.  Otherwise, we will have to pay it for her.  If she will sleep in it, I guess it will be a good investment, but.........why do they charge such outrageous prices for medical equipment?  :-\

Etta Sue, you may not believe this, but I have had a "do nothing" day, too!  I sort of wanted to see if I could.........do nothing, that is.  And I did!  ::)  I'd best not do it too often, though; I might get to like it!  ;)

In our getting stuck in the deep snow, we tore a plastic cover thing that is over part of the transmission on the Cruiser off, (well, not clear off, but it was dragging along the ground)  and boy!  Was it ever noisy when you drive on asphalt!  So we stopped by a station that has a lift, they put the car up in the air and tied it back up.  We couldn't really see what it was before.  For $12.77, it sure quieted things down.

Enough chatter about nothing, see y'all later!

I am about to go back to work shortly to prepare supper for Ruth.  I walked the dogs and a neighbor gave me a dozen eggs on my way back with Happy. He is getting about a dozen per day from his chickens. He chickens, ducks, two pigs, 3 dogs, and takes care of 2 llamas. He is the one who helpd Bill put up my garage tent.

Kevin what a colorful bird. It seems like almost everything in Japan is very colorful.

No business meeting tonight, I can use an evening of doing nothing.

Hi, friends,

I just got in from my daughter's apartment - went to take care of the kitty while she's away in Texas.

I'm so very thankful that gasoline tonight was $1.999 at my local Sam's club.

Certainly will help the billfold a bit.

Pat and Karma, sorry to hear of both your accidents. Sore muscles are difficult to live with! Pat, hope the insurance will be good to you, and Karma, take good care of yourself while you're loving and rearing our two sweet little "grandchildren."  :)

I didn't feel like cooking tonight, so had a fat-free cheese sandwich with no fat mayonnaise and a big handful of alfalfa sprouts instead of lettuce. I really like them, and they have lots of potassium, which I need.

Y'all have a good evening.

Prayers for Pat & her car situation, Karma and her ankle, Jeannine for her everyday, and all of you -

Colin:  How did you know that I baked an angel food cake today - is that why you put a halo on your head?????  Bring the high tea tomorrow.

The football game Sunday was the best ever - will probably root for the Colts this year.

Carol

Hi Ruth Ann:  Gasoline has gone down in price here as well.  I think it is because our reserves are high - but what do I know?   It was nice that your workload was given to another person for a bit of help to you.  Take care.

Pat

Hi folks...

Thanks for your prayers.

Today, the adjuster at the body shop said, "...but Mrs. Scott, the car is a '95 after all..."   I think he's breaking it gently to me that they won't fix it.

We'll see.

Nice to see you Karma!

Anyone got any suggestions? ... it's bed time here, so I'll check again in the morning.

Carol I like your signature quote, I really never paid attention to it before today. It must be something I needed to see today.

I am going to get ready to go to Curves shortly so that I can get to Tai Chi before I go to work. So I can't stay here very long.

I am just checking in with y-all.

Good Morning, All!!

A cloudy overcast day in Indiana.  Cold...only 23°F.  But no wind so that is good.

I got a phone call from my doctor's office yesterday and I am now taking medication to help regulate my glucose levels.  My 2-hour post ?? blood test was 175.  And my A1C was over 6 so I am taking a tablet a day.  My liver function levels were fine but I was taking samples of 10/20mg Vytorin.  I have over 90 day supply of 10/40mg Vytorin and the nurse said to ask the pharmist if I can cut them in two and take them anyway.  So actually I will be taking 5/20mg of Vytorin.

With my glucose medication, it says to follow a low-sugar diet plan and an exercise regime.  If I had been doing that, I probably wouldn't have had a glucose problem.   :idiot:

So pray for me to find the right eating plan that will keep me on that plan.  I love fresh vegetables but not every day!  I love proteins but not every meal.  I guess I am a carbo-holic and I know that is my downfall!

I got an email today that had a clickable.  It's a neat site.  Click here to see how many of you.  According to this, there are two Etta Gann's in the world!

Hello everyone!  If you remember me, that is.  I guess it's been a while since I've put in my two cents.

This homeschooling keeps me pretty busy.  Irish dance, too.  Last night was the weekly class for my girls.  I visit with the other moms and dads a while, then, go off and run my errands while I'm in town.  My hubby picks them up.

Pat-I saw the pictures of your car, too.  Ouch.  I will pray for a solution to the parts issue.  Glad you're okay.

Colin-Glad you're still cracking us all up!  I also loved your latest poem, as I have all of them.  It also made me cry.  Hey, what are piccies?  Like scones or something?  or donuts?  I've never heard of them.  Glad you passed your "tests."

It turns out that I'm not just doing the photos for the church directory, but the whole thing.  God must really trust me with His directory.  Scary, exciting and humbling.  :-\

Did I miss an update on Alma about the surgery, or have we not heard, yet?  I pray all went well.

Inspiredgal- I will pray for your heart appointment, that all is well.  Also, congrats on your exhibition!  You must be thrilled!  It's so great to know there are so many other photographers out there worshipping the creator, not the creation.  ;D

I will go bowling later today with my good friend.  I could use a little bit of fun away from home.  I love homeschooling, but with home being the school, it's good for all of us if I/we get away every now and again.

Better get going for now.  Have a fantastic day, everyone! Sorry to those I haven't mentioned by name.

Blessings, Kathleen

Etta Sue the best thing for you to do is cut out the carbs and all white stuff. Bread, Potatoes, white rice, anything with white flour in it,  sugar, put some cinnamon on you cereal because it will help to level out you blood sugars.  In my job I have to know these  things, Ruth is diabetic.  Eat you "whole grains, if it doesn't say whole grain on the label don't but it. Read your labels and make sure to check how many carbs are in the  product. Get a diabetic cookbook that is a must. What med are you taking, maybe Glipizide, or Glucophage.

Use Splenda it tastes better than any of the others. Xylitol made from White Birch if you can  find it at the health food store. It's expensive! I use it; however I do not have a blood sugar/glucose problem. I order mine on line from HERE Google Xylitol and see what all the wonderful benefits are. You will want to use it.

Did y-all know that sugar feeds cancer. The native Americans used White Birch bark to treat cancer and other ailments. Xylitol is make from White Birch bark.

Time for me to get to my Taic Chi class then on to work.

Later all y-all

Ruth Ann, our gas is still over the $2 mark, should go down soon.  Oil prices went up again yesterday, though, when it was announced the government will add to our strategic oil supplies.  :(

Pat, maybe you should ask the estimated cost of repairing your car; and if the insurance company will pay that..........but I'm sure you've already thought of that.  Insurance companies can be sticky to deal with.

I've had a busy morning.  I went early to Pat's, to put color on her hair.  When I got home, Darrel was just leaving to do some alarm work.  He wanted me to go and help him, so I did.  We were adding protection at one of the grade schools, covering their new computer lab.  Goodness!!  30 brand new computers in there!  Kids are getting a different sort of education now than we got, aren't they?  I wish I knew more about how to use my computer.

Tomorrow I get to go have lunch at school with Abby, then stay for her musical program at 1:30.  ;D  Of course, my camera is going with me---battery is charging right now!

Etta Sue, do you love white potatoes?  Darrel is diabetic (not insulin dependent) and they told us that a medium sized white potato will metabolize in your system to equal 16 tablespoons of sugar!!  :o  If you drink soda (pop) those are a real problem, too, even the diet ones.  The diet ones only make you crave sugar.  Now, sweet potatoes are one of the BEST foods you can eat!  Watch the butter, though---I use Molly McButter on mine, and a little cinnamon.  If there is a diabetic support group near you, they have really good information, and you would be welcome, even though you're not technically a diabetic.  There are really good books you can read, too, some from Christian doctors.  If you crave sweets, I have found that if I stop eating sweets altogether, after a few days I no longer crave them.  I will shut up now, except to add my very best wishes for you to find the right plan that you like and can stick with over the long haul.

I slept very little last night, and feel a little nap stealing up on me!

I was doing some work for John and in the process I came across this hymn by the tune Pat is I think Evan C. M.  Then it says on the bottom of the page James Montgomery, 1819.  Someone with more music training will need to decipher that.

William H. Havergal,1846

Prayer is the Soul's Sincere Desire

Prayer is the soul's sincere desire,
Unuttered or expressed,
The motion of a hidden fire
That trembles in the breast.

Prayer is the burden of a sigh,
The falling of a tear,
The upward glancing of the eye,
When none but God is near.

Prayer is the Christian's vital breath,
The Christian's native air,
His watchword at the gates of death;
He enters heaven with prayer.

Prayer is the contrite sinner's voice
Returning from his ways,
While angels in their songs rejoice
And cry, "Behold he prays!"

Thou by whom we come to God,
The life, the truth, the way,
The path of prayer Thyself has trod:
Lord, teach us how to pray.

I just love those words.

It has remained cold  here today. so I didn't get out to walk the dogs.  I am going to have an early supper as I have church tonight and after I get back from Ruth's  I won't have enough time to fix supper. I will have a Lean Cuisine dinner and a small salad. This drinking 64 oz of water every day is sure a lot of water. I drink bottled water so that is 4 bottles per day. It is so much easier to keep track of that way.

I used to go to the Diabetic meetings  with a friend because I needed to know  the information  for my  work. When I was in training we had a diabetic nurse from Home Health come to teach the class. One thing she stressed  is to READ THE LABELS of everything  you buy whether or not you are diabetic.

I am reading labels and counting and adding up all my Proteins, Carbs, Fats and Calories and journaling them. You would be surprised if you journal that info just what you are putting into your bodies. Sodium alone is an outrageous number.

The Wonder of It All....it didn't rain today!  Guess what it will do tomorrow....RAIN! It was so nice to see the sun again, if only for a short time 8)

Went and had my hair cut this morning.  My hairstylist has stopped working, so had to try a new place and a new person.  I was going to a modern shop that was okay two yrs. ago when it opened.  Then they started raising the prices on a regular basis, playing very crude and loud music, etc. So I went to their competition and she turned out to be good, less expensive and I hope stays, because the owner drives away all her help!  This gal has worked in California and Oregon and now lives here in the valley.  Loves dogs, so we had a nice chat...also didn't treat me like I am on the verge of senility!

Etta Sue, there are so many of me in the States it boggles the mind.  I know there is another me in the valley, googled my name when in Chemainus and turned out to be a 50+ gal, red hair, looking for a guy on some singles site!   Told Al about it and he had a good laugh.  Was funny until I got the gov. phoning me about going in to UIC to apply for work.....told them I was an old retired gal.  Took two or three calls to get the message across!!   :idiot:

This should bring comfort to those of us who share slipping fingers on the keyboard:

Etta Sue

Just stopping by before bedtime.  Actually I took a nap this afternoon...not intending to do..so I probably won't be sleepy at bedtime.

If I ate at home all the time, I would be fine.  I can't tell you when I had a white potato, white rice, white crackers, or white bread in my house.  Now that I have tried the sweet potato, brown rice, whole wheat crackers and whole wheat bread, I like them much better.  It is the actual sweets that are my downfall.  And I am like a kid in a candy store, when I get sweets they are gone before I know it.  Not even tasting them.

When I went to the dietician last spring for a diabetic diet, I was eating more carbs than I normally do but also more protein.  She wanted me to eat carb at every meal but with protein...to even out the carbs throughout the day.  Truly, I was stuffed every meal and my glucose really didn't go down that much.  I am a carboholic!!

But after thinking about this for awhile and receiving an email, I think I will read my South Beach Diet book again and do that.  I lost 25 lbs. in three months once...gained it all back and then some.  But it was easy and easy to eat out also.  So probably by the weekend, I will have started the SB diet.  Good carbs and good fats are allowed...in fact, necessary!  It is the first two weeks that are the hardest but I will survive!  That's when I substituted brown for white in my diet.

Thanks to you all for your input.  I sure don't want to do the needles.  No way!

I enjoyed the reading tonight.

Good luck with your car situation, Pat. Hope you can get a good one that won't cost an "arm and a leg." I should send my sister in law your way - she's great at shopping - buys all their cars because she gets such good deals. Also is a whiz at home repairs (even does all her plumbing work), is a wonderful seamstress, and best of all, a committed Christian who works tirelessly for her Lord.

Etta Sue, I'd recommend seeing a diabetes educator and/or a diabetes  specialist. It has helped me lots. Also, not to be commercial, but I'd recommend subscribing to Diabetes Self Help magazine. It's not very expensive, and the insight it has given me has been wonderful.

Y'all, I got a beautiful "send around" message from an old friend tonight. It so impressed me that I went straight to snopes.com to check it out. The information there was so interesting to me that I wanted to recommend you check out this writeup about that message I got:  http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/monument.asp

Y'all have a good evening.

Pat,

How frustrating for the Christian, transportation problems can be!  We certainly have grown in the Lord over the years through car difficulties.  We will pray that God will be glorified and that you will be encouraged in all of this. :aaah:

I am continuing through Mark 1.

Then they entered Capernaum. When the Sabbath arrived, Jesus lost no time in getting to the meeting place. He spent the day there teaching.  They were surprised at his teaching—so forthright, so confident—not quibbling and quoting like the religion scholars.

Suddenly, while still in the meeting place, he was interrupted by a man who was deeply disturbed and yelling out,   "What business do you have here with us, Jesus? Nazarene! I know what you're up to! You're the Holy One of God, and you've come to destroy us!"

Jesus shut him up: "Quiet! Get out of him!"  The afflicting spirit threw the man into spasms, protesting loudly—and got out.

Everyone there was incredulous, buzzing with curiosity. "What's going on here? A new teaching that does what it says? He shuts up defiling, demonic spirits and sends them packing!"  News of this traveled fast and was soon all over Galilee.

Hi there friends!

Just stopped by on my way to bed.  I'm tired, but not sleepy.  I hate that! >:(

Hey, I just found out how to see where everyone is online!  I'm so happy!!  Now, maybe I'll see one of you while I'm actually online, too, and can shout to you or something.  This could really be fun!  Wish I had more time at the times that most of you are having the tae and piccies (whatever those are) without me.  I think it may be while I sleep?

I know you've all been waiting to hear how I bowled today. Ha ha.  I bowled two games in the 170's and a 188!  I was pretty jazzed.  I hardly ever bowl, so it was kinda funny that I did that well.  I beat my friend all three games and she bowls every Wednesday on a league.  :(  Poor girl!
I even got four strikes in a row, in one of the games.

Good night all! :sleepy:

Hi all,
Just a quick note this morning.  When you come through and read this, would you say a prayer for my husbands bro in law, (married to Terry's sister)  He had lasik surgery yesterday (like I did 2 yrs ago) and yesterday evening he had halos. I've been praying that he would see even better than me, since I'm the one who recommended having it done. Please pray that God would correct his vision completely.  And,  they are asking us about homeschooling their kids, 7th grade and 5th grade, because they are not happy with the school around here.  Give us (me) wisdom (Lord) to tell her what she needs to know to get started. It was easy with me, since I started mine at Kindergarten.

Have been reading all the posts, and praying for the requests.  May God bless each and every one of us.

PS shutterbugmom - Our church has been bowling twice in the last few months, and I had the high score both times! I guess that makes me Church Champion!!! :cheer:

Good Morning I am sitting here with my breakfast of 1/2 cup of eggbeaters cooked  like an omelet, between two pieces of very dark Rye bread lightly spread with sour cream. 300 calories. 50 calories from fat all from the sour cream.

At the Senior Center today they are having the monthly dance and calling it a Black and White Ball. At 10am!!. I am dressed all in black today. They will be serving Biscuits and gravy. I am not eating there today. A friend and I are going for Mexican dinner when I come home for my afternoon break at 1pm.

Etta Sue I am trying to lose some weight so I have had to cut all sweets out of my diet and that is pure hell for me since I do love my chocolate and cheese cake. I want to be able to get into my size 14 jeans again. It has been 4 years since I have been able to wear them. Come to think of it I think I gave them away. I am also only eating  1 maybe 2 slices of bread per day. I know TMI!!

Have a great day all y-all. I have to go fold a load of laundry and put another load in the drier.

Ruth Ann, I really enjoyed reading that information about the Washington monument.  Beth and I went to the top of it, when I visited her while she was living in Virginia.  Awesome view from up there, even though it was raining that day.

Bowling........that's something I have done very little.  But I enjoyed those times I did it.

Pat, sorry about your poor little car.  Another 'era' comes to an end.  Will you be shopping for a new one or a used one now?  For sure, you need dependable transportation!

Etta Sue, I have been fasting now for almost three weeks, and like I said, the sweets cravings have gone away completely.  The first two days were the hardest, but I know you can do it, if that's the way you choose to go.

Oh, I forgot to tell you-----there are 16 of me here in the USA.  I don't really know that the world is ready for that many of me!   ;)

Kevin, I sure enjoy the Scriptures you've been posting.  Papa John used to always include some scripture in his posts.  I sure miss that man!  :-\  Does anyone know how he is doing?

It's almost time to head for Abby's school, and I don't have my 'face' on yet, so better get to gettin!'

Hey there, Karma!!  Good to see you!

Well it was -26°C last night with a wind chill taking it down to
-38°C Brrrrrr The raido was actually advising people to not let their dogs hang their heads out the window!  That is something I never do.  If a flying stone was to hit them it could kill them!   OK off my soap box!

Pat there is a car available, I will be sending you the info.

I have to run, The girls are waiting for me to carry on.

Have a good day everyone

My house has a figure 8 and my oven has a timer.  So I walked for 10 minutes this morning.  Not bad.  Just hope I don't wear out my carpets.

Marilyn - Bread isn't my problem.  It is junk food that is.  Buns, potato chips, cookies, cakes,....I guess, things that are sweet and things that are salty and things that are sweet and salty!   ::)  And I know I don't eat enough protein to balance out what I do eat.  I didn't have a thing sweet in the house for a couple of weeks and I was hunting for something.  Right now, I have nothing sweet in the house but one Little Debbie cake.  I am sure it will be gone today.  Then I am out!

Samantha ~ I will be praying for your husbands BIL for his eyes to be corrected by God.  Kitty's SIL is having eye surgery today.  He is at Wright Patterson Air Force base in Ohio and wants to fly again.  I told Kitty, I would like that surgery so I could fly, too!     Anyway, I will pray for both of these men today.

Kathleen ~ I haven't gotten in the habit to check out the Shouts.  So if anyone has shouted to me, I don't know it.  I really don't know who is online at the same time as I since I get email notifications and seldom come to CP at the top of the page.   :-\

Janet ~ Are you doing an all food fasting?  Or are you drinking fruit juices and such?  A man at church started a 40-day fast with nothing but water.  He started last Friday.  Will end the last of February.  He is fasting with a gentleman that has done this every year for 15 or more years.

JudyB ~ I did my walk today.  How about you?

Bright and sunny in Central Indiana.  But cold!!!!  Brrrrr!  22°F!!

Good luck Etta Sue!!  The good thing is that it can be controlled a lot of time with diet and nutrition.  You are disciplined enough to do that, I think.  I have found that it isn't that I eat bad things, or even too much of them (though chocolate trips me up), but when I eat.  I haven't had breakfast OR lunch, yet, though I'm getting ready to (hopefully).

Kristi was running through the house this morning, not looking where she was going, and *BAM* ran right into the kitchen table.  Had it broken the skin, we would have stitches right now.  Fortunately, it is just a big ole pumpknot.  Looks painful.

Just wanted to say hi! to everyone.

Ok Etta Sue you caught me!!!  I will get that done as soon as I finish up on the puter.  I think I will encorporate the stairs in with the walk.

I made a HUGE pot of split pea soup last night.  I can't eat it but boy did the rest of the family have devoured it.  John made lunch today and knowing I can't have the pea soup made me this wonderful ham, cheese, and tomato sandwich on 9 grain bread that Kassie made last night.  There is little left of the bread as well.

Colin 37 years and counting.  That is on the 6th of February of 1971.

Karma you and Kristi are a little accident prone aren't cha?  Wow a bump like that will hurt.

Pat I have sent you about 5 emails as I received the info you asked for.

I am sorry I am not mentioning everyone, just know you are prayed for.

:cheer:  Praise the Lord!  I'm jumping for joy!  I just finished the last photo for our church directory. Well, that's not entirely true because I still have one more family to photograph and, ironically, it's the pastor's family. (their sons were out of town when I took the pictures)  So, now I have to figure out how to put it together with the names in Publisher, a new program to me.  My daughter and I will do it together as a school project, since she hasn't used it before, either.  I think it'll be fun.

I understand you all with the diet and health problems and am praying for you.  I have Celiac Disease and other food allergies, as well.  In addition to wheat gluten, I also can't have corn, potatoes or tomatoes.  It's certainly a challenge to find things I can eat and not get bored.  Variety is tough for me.  And when I get apathetic and cheat, I suffer.  Not fun.

Well, I will go for now.  Just thought I'd let you all know about the directory for those of you who've been praying for me.  I appreciate your prayers more than you know.  :)
Blessings, Kathleen

Hi Everyone,  :coffee:

I think we should all pray for Pat's car situation.  I know we have been.  Now, let's pray s'more!

Okay, since I can't use the shoutbox, this is for Colin, whose "shout" I would like to respond to...

Hi Colin, you GIPE! ^-^

It's a bit long this morning, but soooooo good.  From Mark 2...

After a few days, Jesus returned to Capernaum, and word got around that he was back home.   A crowd gathered, jamming the entrance so no one could get in or out. He was teaching the Word.  They brought a paraplegic to him, carried by four men.  When they weren't able to get in because of the crowd, they removed part of the roof and lowered the paraplegic on his stretcher.  Impressed by their bold belief, Jesus said to the paraplegic, "Son, I forgive your sins."

Some religion scholars sitting there started whispering among themselves,  "He can't talk that way! That's blasphemy! God and only God can forgive sins."

Jesus knew right away what they were thinking, and said, "Why are you so skeptical?  Which is simpler: to say to the paraplegic, 'I forgive your sins,' or say, 'Get up, take your stretcher, and start walking'?  Well, just so it's clear that I'm the Son of Man and authorized to do either, or both . . ." (he looked now at the paraplegic),  11 "Get up. Pick up your stretcher and go home."  And the man did it—got up, grabbed his stretcher, and walked out, with everyone there watching him. They rubbed their eyes, incredulous—and then praised God, saying, "We've never seen anything like this!"

I had quite a fun day at the elementary school where Abby attends.  I got to visit her music class, PE, recess (indoors first and later, outdoors) lunch, honors Math (boy some of those problems were tough!) and then Darrel came, so after the math class was over, we went to the gym and waited until time for her program.  It was really cute, all about teamwork, and taking care of our bodies.

Etta Sue, I will email you!

Later, folks!

Hi everyone.

Just wanted to make a quick posting to let you all know that we are home safely from our trip to Florida.  I have had a very busy day today as thought my laptop had crashed so took it to CompUSA for warranty repair.  They called this afternoon saying the hardware was fine and they had just restored it to factory condition.  Apparently a program I was trying to install in the motel from a memory stick had caused the problem.  Now trying to get it back to a usable condition.

I haven't had a chance to read any postings and sure I won't this evening.  Hopefully tomorrow I can get caught up here.

Janet

Etta Sue I am sorry if you got the impression that I  was saying that  bread was a problem for you. Bread was a problem for me, I would sit in the eveings eat several pieces of toast and jam to satisfy my sweet cravings. I would also eat  gobs of peanut butter with honey poured over the top  from a bowl but the spoonful.  I was using myself as an example.

Kathleen, I've used Publisher only a couple of times and it was a couple of years ago when I was helping my daughter with a project.  I wish you well.  Sounds like a lovely project.  Did you get a nice one of you and your family to share with us?

Ruth Ann Bice

I just betcha she meant to say peanut butter, Janet.  :D Yes, Pat, I too enjoy a giggle.

I went to Sam's Club and rode the scooter up and down all the aisles. Certainly enjoyed my "journey"! And, found everything I wanted to purchase at the grocery store and at a more reasonable price. Thank goodness. Also, since Sam's sells in bulk, of course, I won't even need to THINK about buying that stuff again for a while.  :)

Goodness, JudyB - I notice that a moment ago your temperature was -9 degrees Fahrenheit. Brrr that's REALLY cold! I agree, staying indoors and getting the exercise with the stairs (or in Etta Sue's case, doing figure 8's in her home) is a good thing for this time of year.

Our office building is very large, so I have lots of hallways in which to walk. And, thankfully, I can now walk a bit more than during all last year.

A good friend called tonight - it was nice to get the call.

Well, must go and check out the faucets to get them dripping. When our temps fall to 20 degrees or lower, this old house just might "decide" to let the pipes freeze, so I always let them drip to save another huge plumbing bill.

Y'all have a good evening.

Ruth Ann

Oh, by the way, while I'm thinking about it, Shutterbugmom, I believe what you're referring to as "piccies" was originally spelled "biccies" - I think they're using that as a nickname for the yummy product we here in the States call cookies and the English folk call biscuits. You know, were I not diabetic, a cup of tea and a cookie would taste good before bedtime tonight!

Pat:  It is so sad that these older cars are so worthless when we try to sell or trade but a diamond in the rough when the dealers want to sell to you.  Did I say that right?  My '96 Nissan Maxima isn't even worth $4,500 now but it is a creampuff & has been really babied.  Not one thing has had to be fixed until this year, a new windshield - still, if I took it in or it was smashed, it would be sickening to hear that it was worthless.  Lots of years left, we hope.

The strangest thing in the world has happened.  My cousin in Seattle took my mother's antique sewing machine from my brother's basement - now, that is really in my family, isn't it?  Tonight she called and said she was moving and taking "her grandmother's sewing machine with her" - we share the same grandmother but that machine was in my home.  I was so shocked  - she has a fine memory and proclaims to be a great Christian.  Well, if it is that important to her, she can have it.  It only bothered me for 15 minutes but I wanted to write about the odd conversation.

Marilyn:  A dietican told me to be sure to eat some more fiber & carbs because I was trying to not eat carbs - it is more filling to have one slice of whole grain toast with my eggbeaters.

Colin:  I'll make another angel cake just for you!  The youngest pastor had two slices but he can afford to eat two desserts.

Larry:  Nice to have you returning.  Did you enjoy your trip?  The weather sounds wonderful -  our oldest son is working in Florida this week & he will return home to snow flurries.

Talking about exercise in other posts - we joined an exercise club over a year ago because we have to for blood pressure and good for the heart.  The problem is that every afternoon, I am so sleepy and fell asleep on the couch today after the club & then cleaning floors & other things.  We take weekends off and feel better in the afternoon.  Keep hoping we will get used to this but it never happens.

Nite all,
Carol

Ruth Ann- :lol:Thanks for clearing up the biccies issue for me.  I am laughing at myself for misreading the word.  Too funny!

Pat-I have two pages of the directory finished.  I've been able to figure out Publisher to the degree that I need to use it.  The directory is a pretty funny story how it came about.  (keep in mind, I don't usually do portraits, nor do I enjoy it and I don't really have the proper equipment.  I just do my own family and friends who beg and plead, mainly because I've not really studied much about aspect of photography, yet) My pastor asked if I could come and take a few pictures of familes at church so we could match the faces with the names.  No big deal.  We don't have a church building yet, so we meet at a senior center.  I took my background stand and tripod and everything down there.  They gave me a blue tablecloth, complete with a shiney ribbon-type crosshatch pattern for a backdrop.  I used available light, ceiling lighting and my 420ex speedlight flash.  One week led to another and before I knew it, I had done this 6 different Sundays with a few skipped in between.  It was like, "Can you take pictures for one more week, so we can get as many families as we can."  The last week, I only photographed one family.
As you can expect, the lighting was different every week.  The first week it was sunny, and by the time we finished, it was a heavy overcast.  It's been quite a challenge trying to get the colors right.  I was going to just go black and white, but the pastor REALLY wanted color.  I finally extracted each family and then added a digital pattern backdrop and that at least took care of the food-stained backdrop.  The picture of my family I did at our house in yet different light from the rest.  I don't know how this will all end up.  Hopefully, at least okay.  I can post the picture of my family, but it's not great.  Oh well, at least I never claimed to be a portrait photographer, right?
The good thing is, I'm doing it for the Lord, so I can laugh at the process and know that God is stretching me through all this, and our church will have it's very first pictorial directory to use for His glory and purpose.  I have learned a lot that I probably wouldn't have otherwise, (at least not right away) especially in Photoshop CS2 which I've only had for a few months.  Carl (aka ohenry) helped me a lot!  Thanks again Carl! I praise the Lord for your willingness.

You probably didn't even want to hear all that, but it would seem, I needed to share it.  Thanks for bearing with me.    I will post our family picture.  Please accept "as is."  Oops, I will have to find out how to post it directly from my computer since it's not in my gallery online.
Blessings, Kathleen

Kathleen, Pat also talked about piccies a while back---referring to pictures!  So, piccies and biccies---we talk about them all in here!

Carol, I agree with you re cars.  We were going to trade in our Mercury, and the guy offered us such a low amount that I asked him "Do you realize you are insulting us?  I would rather give it away than let you have it for that!"  And we still have it.  It gets better mileage than the Cruiser!

I'm off today to have Pat cut, color and style my hair, then we are going to Dodge City for a bit of shopping.

Pat, I showed Darrel the page you wanted him to see, then he looked at one for here.  He says that is a good price.  (((Hugs)))

I have walked this morning and all the other usual morning things I do.  I seem to be sleepy a lot but I remember that is one of the side effects from the new medication I am on.  Good that I like to sleep.  Seems if I sit very long, I am asleep.

Larry ~ Glad you are back from Florida.  Ivalou and I decided yesterday we are going to Florida the end of February to visit with Kaye Don and Barb in Bradenton.  We thought about going to Louisianna but Florida is a cheaper vacation for us since we will only have two nights in a motel.

Cold again today in Indiana.  24°F.  Bright and sunny but cold.  Looks like some wind since when I look out the window I see the bare limbs on the maple tree jiggling!

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone and thanks for the messages of welcome back.  I did miss you all.  I have spent the last hour or more reading all the postings for this week and there is no way I can comment to everyone so will limit this post to just a few where I thought of something I particularly wanted to say.

Janet, I am glad Beth was able to get the air mattress.  We bought one of those for my Dad and it cost either $3,000 or $4,000 but was worth every penny as he had developed a stage 4 pressure sore and after getting that never developed another one.  My sister had it in her garage after his passing and we sold it just a few months ago for $1200.  There was nothing wrong with it and it constantly changed the pressure in the various air cells.  He asked me once what it cost and I told him and he said that was really expensive.  I told him laying on his dollar bills wasn't going to give him any comfort and he never mentioned it again.  It was worth every penny.  The pump was almost silent.

Pat, sure sorry to read of your car being totalled as know that means you have to find another and they never pay enough in insurance to cover the cost of replacement.

Jeannine, God has provided transportation for you.

I am sure there were several others I wanted to comment to but will just say that I have read all of the postings and that I appreciate all of you and the sense of friendship I find on this website.  Pat, thanks for providing this for us.

My daughter called me a few minutes ago to say she has finally found a job and it is one where she will not have to be on her feet.  God is certainly looking after her.  She will be working for Scott's lawn service in setting up accounts so will be working on a telephone all day.  The pay is not great but  is better than minimum wage and hopefully she will be able to support herself with what she makes.

One further note on our trip.  We had perfect weather the first three days we were in Florida and it was so nice we were able to sit on the deck and have a meal on a couple of occasions.  The last couple of days the humidity came back and it was really warm because of it.  We had a great time visiting with the cousins and Pat's only living aunt.  We are already planning for the reunion, which will be in February next year.

Samantha

Good Morning Y'all!

Just a quick "Thank You" to all who prayed for my bro in law who had the eye surgery.  He is now seeing 20/20 in one eye and 20/40 in the other and the dr says it may go to 20/15 and 20/20.  His eyesight was worse than mine, so I think that is wonderful!  God is soooo good!!!!!!!

JudyB - thanks for the info.  I think just their son wants to be homeschooled, but I'm not sure if his mother is up to having someone home with her all the time.  (That's just the way she is)  Homeschooling is a BIG commitment.  I wouldn't trade the time I have with my kids for all the money in the world!

Larry, good that you made it home safe and sound and had a wonderful trip on top of that.

Marilyn, how long did you have to work out with Curves before seeing any real results?  I started working out with Bodies in Motion with Gilad on FIT Tv since the first of the year, and so far no weight loss, but have toned up some.  Have to get my cholesterol lowered.

Yall have a great day!

Samantha :)

Samantha, i haven't lost any weight, but I sure have tuned up. My BMI is  23 which is very good. However my body fat index is 41. that is not so good. All my weight is in my belly fat. My weight keeps fluctuation up and down a few pounds every week. However now I am counting  calories and being very careful to drink  64 oz of water daily as well as journaling what I am eating.  I have only been at Curves  since the end of October, 55 visits so far. My cholesterol is now at 195 one year ago it was 255, so I am doing good.

Gotta go walk the dogs now.

The grandkids are all laughing and saying that they are going to write a new song:

"Grandma bought an SUV!"

They think it's a lark!

I get it on Monday cuz they are going to put four brand new tires on it, do Crown Rust proofing for the underbody, give the upholstery a fabric treatment and the paintwork a special kind of protection treatment and then I get it on Monday.

I'll probably get it paid for in about 10 years!  HAHAHA!

Nice Car Pat <3 They let  you finance a car for 1o years in Canada??? In the USA we can only finance them for 5 years, maybe 6 at the most.

I am going to bo to the church in just a little bit. I told the Pastor I would go sit there with him for an hour. This is a one night per month sitting quietly in the sanctuary with worship music playing in the background and just  waiting on God.

Pat and I had a good day together.  Anybody want to come over and scrapbook with us?  I think between us we have enough supplies to open a store!!  Fun, though........they are always coming out with new stuff, and today Hobby Lobby had so much stuff on sale.  We got quite a few things for pennies on the dollar.  Now, if we just have about five years with nothing else to do....... ^-^  Not likely!

Hi, friends,

It's kinda late tonight. I managed to get to my daughter's apartment complex and out of the truck before I realized the keys were still IN it! Brrr - I got to wait a while to be rescued by my son. That'll teach me to be more careful, I am sure!

I had opportunity at work while making a backup CD to surf our site as a "guest" - we can't log on from work computers. So, I've read all your good comments, even though I haven't responded properly.

Pat, nice car!

At any rate, it's really late and I'm worn out. So, y'all have a good evening.

Good Morning All,

Great looking car Pat! Good job.
We still have not heard anything about the possible loaner so are still depending on rides from hubby's friends fm AA.
We have now seen both doctors. The ENT people will have control over the care of his cancer. From what they can tell, the primary site for the cancer seems to be the tonsil which spread to 4 nodes in the neck on the same side. He goes for a PET/CT scan next week and then they will decide on what to do, radiation or surgery, or both combined.

Welcome home Larry!

Don't remember who posted about the "study" on how well we read things that are written poorly, as long as the first and last letter are where they should be. That is soo cool! My fingers frequently have dislexia and go faster than my brain so I usually have the right letters but in the wrong order.

Hi to everyone else, I hope everyone else has a God filled and blessed day! Thank you all for being here, this is a great place to just rest in the fellowship and love of God I see here. <3 <3

Hi everyone from N.Ireland...was in a poetic mood this morning and composed a new poem which I have posted. I took a photo of snowdrops but have not a clue how to put them on this page!! :idiot:

Hi Pat...lovely car. So glad it has a wheel at each corner. Keep 'er between th' hedges as we say here! Wishing you health to enjoy your new car. God bless.

I am not going to name the rest of you all because i might omit some one and then there would be ructions! Powerful! Right...my poem...

SNOWDROPS

Beautiful snowdrops I see you appear
Whispering to me softly it is spring of the year
When warming rays of sun will kiss the cold earth
And the dormant sleepers of nature will be given new birth

When birds will find a song to sing in the air
And the awakening of nature is seen everywhere
And the bitter winds blowing so icy and cold
Warm up their breath when winter releases her hold

Sweet little snowdrops appearing so shy
With your heads bent over not looking to the sky
As if in prayer so humble you grow
Teaching me a lesson of truth that I should know

That those who bow their heads in reverence to God
Like you gentle snowdrops appearing from the sod
Should humble their selves like you growing there
And ask for His mercy in a repentant sinner's prayer

Then from the cold ground that is a hardened heart
Life; hope and joy will make a new start
And the sunshine of His love will melt the cruel frost
Of sin that gripped with icy fingers the soul that was lost

Each little snowdrop that hides its gentle face
Teaches me so much of God's saving grace
And I am so glad little flower; beside you I did stop
And learned this lesson from you; a humble snowdrop

Maybe Pat will put in the photo for me if I leave it in the gallery. I think you know my code Pat. See you all later!

Colin--another very powerful poem with a deep message.  You have a real gift from God, to be able to express such wonderful truths in poetry!  God bless you mightily!  Today, I won't even call you a gipe!  (But watch out tomorrow!  ;))

Larry, it's so good to have you back.  Thanks for the encouraging words about Beth's new mattress.  She has had it now for a week, and decisions will need to be made soon.  But it is comforting to know that it may (or will) prevent her from developing pressure sores in the future; those things are awful!

Glad you had a good vacation and got to enjoy some warm weather.  They tell us it will not get above 30 here this weekend.

Darrel got his new piano!!  He is practicing "Are You Lonesome Tonight" as I type.  He says his hands don't want to coordinate with each other!  I love hearing him practice.  He and his teacher are both wanting me to take lessons, too.  What do you think?  Could she teach an old gal new tricks?  :-\  I'm sort of scared to try, and can't decide if I'm afraid of success or afraid of failure.........

Jeannine, sorry you don't have the car as yet.  I will pray that process be expedited!  You need wheels!!  One on each corner, as Colin said.  ;)

Today I am going to take a collage class.  I've never done any collage, think it will be a lot of fun.  And you know I need one more thing to do! ::)

Hi there, Miss in-the-corner-Jane!  Whatever it is that is happening in your corner, as you say, God knows and He will provide.  Good to know you're there, watching out for the porn-ers, and praying for the rest of us, as we pray for you.  (((hugs)))

Oh, by the way, I seldom notice the shouts, so if any of you shout at me, you might have to shout louder.  Sorry...... :-[

We got word yesterday that our pastor, who hasn't been feeling well, went to the doctor and was told he has mono!!   :P  So we are praying for a supernaturally quick recovery.  No fun feeling fatigued all the time.

Pat, That little truck/car/SUV/baby looks like it will be fun to drive.  I'm so happy you were able to find one you like and that it didn't take very long.  Blessings to you. <3

Ruth Ann, I locked my keys in the car about a week ago---but thankfully I was home in the garage when it happened.  :-[  It took me a few minutes to locate the spare set of keys, but at least I wasn't out in the cold.  Glad you had your son to come to your rescue, but sorry you had the experience.  NOT fun at all. :-[  Love you!

I must go and get Beth's water jugs and take her several gallons of fresh well water.  She has some other things she wants to talk to me about, too.  So I'd best be getting along.

Good morning, friends,

I enjoyed sleeping late and now am taking a bit of time for a little greeting.

I found a link to a southern gospel radio station. Here's the link:  http://www.solidgospel.com/subpage.asp?StationId=SolGos&PageNo=77

My dad really loved gospel music and downtown Nashville they used to hold an all-night singing once a month at the Ryman Auditorium. That's the original site where the Grand Old Opry originated. At any rate, he used to take me with him, and I thoroughly enjoyed all the quartets and trios that provided a wonderful evening of great southern gospel music.

Y'all have a good day.

Oh thanks for putting the photo in....I presume it was you Pat. Thanks anyway whoever it was.

Hi Janet..thank you for your lovely comments and you can call me gipe anytime because you cant change facts..I am a GIPE :uglystupid:

Hi Ruth Ann Bice....thank you for the link to the radio station..I love country gospel music of any kind...take care.

Hi all.
The Country Poet

Etta Sue

I have read all the posts since I last posted.  But I didn't keep notes.

Pat ~ What a neat little SUV.  Do you think it could get you to Noblesville?  That would be a great test!  I love the color!!!

Ruth Ann ~ Thanks for the clickable for Gospel Music.  Will use that often!  I think we have all locked our keys in the car once...at least!  Been there, done that!!

Janet ~ My niece is a demonstrator for Scrapbooking parties in your home...like Tupperware parties.  I haven't been to one yet.  Just know it seems expensive and I can't imagine cutting up my photos for scrapbooks!  That's me!

Colin ~ Another beautiful poem.  Now you have to know that I really don't care for poetry but yours seems to flow and when read, they are full of meaning.  Love them!

Kevin ~ Let's see.  We have Japanese cars in the U.S.  Do you have U. S. cars in Japan?  SUV's are the rage around here.  I wouldn't mind having a small SUV like Pat's...cute little puddle jumpers!

Jane ~ You don't have to 'splain it all to us!  We know what is in your heart and know that God is there!

Jeannine ~ You and your family are in my prayers daily!  God Bless You All!

Marilyn ~ Is Happy better now in cars than he used to be?  I remember it was a chore to get him to the vet!  Maybe it was BeBe.

Larry ~ So glad that Stacey has found a sit-down job.  Lot less stress on her heart and she will feel like she is doing something for herself.

There, I guess I did address about everyone since I posted.  Not much going on here today.  Kind of cold...32°F but I haven't been outside.  I probably won't go out until time to get the mail from the mailbox.  Brrrr!  Kind of chilly inside even.

Hello everyone!  Travis had his second basketball game today.  He plays for a Christian league called upwards.  It began here in the South, so I'm not sure how widespread it is .  Anyway, he was so excited he got up very, very early this morning, which woke up Crash (Kristi's new nickname) and me.  Kristi did take a nap and just woke up (she slept almost 3 hours).

Now, we have to go to a little cousin's birthday party, find some music for church, and take travis to Chuck E. Cheese.

I'm going to be whupped tonight!

Have a great day!

Colin

Oh Etta Sue..you dont like poetry and I have written you such a lovely love poem  <3 ...tear..tear...there ..thats it threw in the bin! :'(

Etta Sue

Karma ~ Sounds like a typical 'Mommy with little ones' day at your house!  My church has Upwards basketball, too.  I am thinking that over 200 kids signed up...well, their parents signed them up!   ???

Colin ~ If you write a poem for me, you better post it here.  Note:  I said I loved your poems!!   <3

Here is a great animation that I found today.  It's too big to post here but here is the clickable.  So just click

Enjoy!

Yes Etta Sue it was happy that was so difficult to get in the car but he  loves to go for rides now it didn't take but the one trip to the Vet  and drive around town for a bit and he was hooked on car rides.

We barely had an inch of snow so there should be no problem getting to church tonight.  One of the other quilters has another finished quilt for me and will bring it tonight.

Colin:  What a lovely picture and beautiful poetry!!!!!!! It has been super to have you posting.

Larry:  Hello - have a good weekend.

Pat:  Love the color of your car.  You should be able to spot it in the parking lots.

Sleepy - have to go.

Carol

Pat

Kevin, that's funny.  To find my vehicle on the net, you have to search "trucks".

Etta Sue, that might be an interesting first long trip!  the only thing is that I don't have a passport.

I'll definitely drive up to Judy's now that I have good wheels.

Also, good to know...  Both my brother and my brother-in-law (John) say that I made the right decision so that's the best news this week.  It's horrible making a decision like this without your spouse.

Hi everyone.  The day has about gotten away again so I will try to get a posting made.  I don't seem to accomplish much but the time sure flies.  Of course, we were gone until about 1:30 this afternoon and then I had to take a little rest.  Pat went to Wal-Mart while I was resting.

Samantha, so glad to hear that your brother-in-laws sight is improving.

Pat, what a nice looking car.  It should give you many years of driving as long as your neighbor stays in her driveway.  I doubt that I will buy another Saturn as have had a lot of trouble with mine.  However, it is now about 7 years old and I want to keep it for at least 10 years.  It still looks almost new and we drove it to Florida and back.  Once I had the starter replaced and a problem with the transmission fixed it has started and run very well.

Marilyn, at least you fulfilled your commitment by being at the church.  It sounds like it is pretty cold out your way.

Ruth Ann, sure hope your daughter was home or do I remember that she is away and you are taking care of something for her.  Hope you were able to wait for your son in a warm place.  Thanks for the radio station link.

Jeannine, it is good that your hubby's friends are helping you with your transportation problems.  I am sure this is a scary time for you as he battles the cancer.

Jane, I think I am in your club about things happening all around us.  Yesterday was one of those days and today I got notice I had double-paid my light bill in January and had overdrawn one of our bank accounts.  Fortunately I have a line of credit so my check didn't bounce.  Will have to go on Monday and get everything straightened out and see what penalty I am being charged.  I felt really dumb but will just rack it up to a senior moment and not worry about.  It happened and I can't relive my yesterdays.

Colin, beautiful picture of the snowdrops.  Thanks for sharing it.

Janet, I think the question is not whether you could learn to play the piano but whether you really want to do so.  Several years ago my wife started taking lessons and did for a few months because she wanted to but did not continue with it.  It takes a lot of practice as you get started as I am sure Darrel will attest but it is worth the effort in self-satisfaction.  IF you decide to do it just expect success and don't think of failure.

Etta Sue, I have to agree with you on the scrapebooking.  I don't even like to put pictures in an album and most of our pictures from the past are in a cedar chest I inherited from my mother.  She had lots of pictures but she had sorted them and divided them for my sister and I.  It was a wonderful thing to do but when I found them I have to admit it really got to me.

Karmat, it took me back to read that Travis is already playing basketball.  The time passes so quickly.

Carol, glad to see you are not having another blizzard over this weekend.  You all need a break.

Colin

Thanks Larry and Carol for your kind words.....I am completely typed out now so I will call it a day. It has been a long one. God bless

Pat, you can go to Noblesville on your way to or from Kansas!  Are passports expensive or hard to get in Canada?  For sure, we will keep ours updated now that we will need them to get back into the USA.

I just got home from my collage class, and it was so much fun!  I brought home a bagful of "stuff" to play with and do more of them.  There were about seven of us in the class, and our finished (or nearly finished) pieces could not have been more different!  That makes it even more fun.

We are going to Diane's for supper and a visit.  They are usually so busy when we stop by that they don't have but a few minutes to visit, and I am missing them.  So my sweet husband agrees we can go visit tonight.  <3

See you all tomorrow!

Hi all,
How many of you know who the red headed woman is?  I got to see her today at a women's health retreat.  Overlook me, I didn't wear makeup because they  said "free makeovers" but we never found where they were doing them!  Oh well, this is how God sees and made me :o  Free tea/coffee and cake for the first one who knows who she is!

That is if I can post it correctly!

Thanks Larry.  I like the looks of it.  Hope I enjoy driving it.  :)

Samantha, I have no idea who that is.  She's sure got her "face" on and you don't look bad at all without yours.  LOL

Yes, Janet, I think passports do cost a lot.  I'm not sure what the latest is but I let mine go when Jack got very ill and I never thought I'd need one for the USA.  It's really too bad.  For those who live in Windsor and go across the bridge to Detroit or even Niagara Falls and go across the rainbow bridge to get a different view of the falls, you will need a passport.  Silly.

Hi everyone.

I see there are not many postings since I was here late yesterday afternoon.  We thought we were going to have some rain but not so far.  It is suppose to get colder and colder all day.  I checked this morning and still had one of the two outside faucets open so closed it off for the winter.  I don't think there would be any problem but don't want to take a chance.  It was up in the 50s yesterday but this next week is to be much cooler, especially during the night.

I have never had a passport and will not get one now as don't expect to leave the USA.  I don't want to get away from my health system with the condition of my heart.  I think I read that to get one it costs a little less than $100.

We are about ready to leave for Sunday School and church and then will likely go out to lunch.  I have missed choir practice the last two weeks but will at least be a body in the choir.  I do read music and I think we will be doing something we have done before so should be all right.  One of our choir members is currently in Thailand and his wife sent me some great pictures yesterday.  Janet, I thought of you and Darrel when I looked at them.  Did you all ride on elephants while you were there?

Samantha, I don't recognize the person you are standing with.  However, I don't see why you need makeup as it looks like you have beautiful skin.

Janet, glad you enjoyed your collage class and I hope you had a nice visit.

Hi Colin and and all who visit today.

We are off to church.

Etta Sue

Lorrie, of 'Trading Spaces' on TLC!  She's from Mississippi!!  Samantha, where's my coffee and cake.  Need it today because I go on my big D starting tomorrow!

Pat, ~ I forgot about those must have passports now.  I am thinking they are around $100 in the U.S.

Brrrrr!  It is cold today.  Only 11°F with bright sunshine.  And today was the day that I went to church, bought gas for the car, ate at Taco Bell and went to WalMart.  In and out of the car.  Then when I got home, I had to make one trip to carry in things to the house from the driveway and another trip from the garage to the house.  I am in now!

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

Janet

Yes, Larry, we did ride elephants in Thailand!  We enjoyed our trip there so much, and are thinking of going again.

Passports in the USA cost $95.00 plus the cost of your photos, which you can easily do yourself, especially if you have a digital camera.  So Larry and Etta Sue are right.  They have gone up in recent years.  (What hasn't?)  :-\

We did have a good visit with the kids last night.  My son in law came over to me as soon as we arrived, gave me a big hug, and said "I love you.  You know that, don't you?"  Sure made my day!  He could tell I needed that!  And of course I got loving from Diane and Abby, too.  ^-^ :)

Etta Sue, I just finished my three weeks fast.  Good going to you, and I hope your not-so-healthy eating habits will be easier than you think to change and improve.  Eating out does pose a problem, but even that can be done, just requires us to think more and be more disciplined.  (Not always easy, I know!)  But we want you to be healthy and be around for many more years---with no needles!  ;)

Our church service this morning was all praise and prayer.  The presence of the Holy Spirit was tangible, as we prayed for our pastor and other needs.  What a mighty God we serve!!

I want to work on some photos.  Everybody---have a great evening!

Hi, friends,

Yes, it's really chilly here in Nashville today, with the temps forecast for 18 degrees tonight. Brrr.

My little white truck really hates to start when the temps get down that low, so will need to try several times tomorrow morning before I can get to work. Must remember to get up 30 minutes earlier tomorrow.

I thoroughly enjoyed our worship service today. Our pastor taught about giving ourselves a sacrifice to God, which is our reasonable service. I was so glad to see someone go forward to the altar to pray following the sermon.

Lunch with friends was good today - we ate at an inexpensive Italian restaurant called Fazoli's. I had enough coupons that everyone got something either free or very low cost. I thoroughly enjoyed the green salad that was my freebie, along with spaghetti and meatsauce.

Am meeting an ex-boss this afternoon before worship to have dinner. He's such a nice man, and I really appreciate his friend, too. She's such a dear, and they're well matched. I would be surprised if at some point they marry.

Well, y'all have a very good afternoon.

Ruth Ann

Samantha

Yea Etta Sue!  Here is your coffee :cup:  but I don't know how to send the cake through to you.  But I hope you enjoy it before tomorrow.  Yes it is Laurie Smith from "Trading  Spaces" on The Learning Channel.  She was at a Women's retreat yesterday.  She is not originally from Mississippi but does now live here in Jackson, MS.  Etta Sue, did you know she recently had another child?  Her daughter was with her (8 weeks old)  Pretty little thing with red hair like her momma!

My son was excited because I had my picture with someone from the tv.   :D  It's so easy to impress a 10 yr old.

Not much going on in my neck of the woods,  Church was wonderul, of course.  I can hardly wait to go back this evening.

Later,
Samantha

I have a few minutes before I leave to go back to church for prayer meeting. I have been working on cleaning out my file cabinet. Last Sunday I did the bottom drawer and today I have been doing the top drawer. Today I have filled my shredder 5 times and already filled up one of those 30 gal black plastic garbage bags with shredded paper. I emptied one yesterday when I recycled.

Not much new here on the lost coast.  Did y-all see on the news about the man attacked by the Mountain Lion and his wife fighting it off. Well that happened  not far from here, he is in our local hospital. Man attacked by Mountain Lion You can find out more on the story  HERE this is an index of the articles on the Mountain Lion's in our area.
