Well, Kaye Don's drive is re-sealed and Ivalou's is being done.  Mine is next.  I keep hearing noises outside so maybe they are working on mine already.

I took a nap yesterday so really wasn't sleepy last night when I went to bed.  But after reading for awhile, I shut off the light and was almost into la-la-land when I heard a helicopter close by.  I went to the bathroom and raised the blind and saw a helicopter circling with a search light on...shined right in my eyes.  It kept circling going west and finally was out of sight.  12:40am I went back to bed.  My imagination wouldn't quit.  I last saw the clock with 3:00 on it!  Then up early for me this morning.

It is bright and sunny and that's good for a re-sealed driveway!

I wonder what the helicopter was looking for, Etta Sue.

Horrible night when you can't get to sleep.  :(

Etta Sue that would have been exciting if it was in the daytime!  Really leaves you wondering though, someone lost?  or someone being looked for by police?  It is terrible to have a broken night's sleep.

Had a call from the girls last night.  They are thoroughly enjoying their time at CFB Trenton.  I asked Elizabeth if she could apply the leadership lessons to life in school and in church.  She said she could.  I pray she is able to be a leader of right with her peers when she does go to school.  Peer pressure is so strong for our kids.  Could you pray for spiritual as well as physical protection while the girls are gone?

The puppies are such cute bundles of furr.  Last night I was discouraged and not feeling the best, but soon my spitit was lifted by 7 balls of fluff romping out to greet me and running the figure 8 around my ankles.  They were so joyful.  How much more joyful our Lord is when we greet Him and let Him carry our burdens.  They turned the strain into a grin then an all out laugh.  Can you imagine His joy when we greet Him the same way?  (Matther 11)

Janet the lack of water may have played a part.  I will watch that today.  Thankyou for the heads up.

Colin get better soon.  Drink a lot and wash the bug out of your system.  Your mom is in my prayers.

Ruth Ann  and Jeannine Praying for you.

Jane it would be real good to get together and have an ice tea, wouldn't it?

Gord all is well here in the north.  Have you spoken to Jim Clifton lately?

Anyone I have missed I am sorry, just know you are being upheld in prayer.

Hi everyone.  We had another 1.25 inches of rain yesterday afternoon, which makes a total of three inches in two days with more possible today and tomorrow.  It is so welcome.  The yards have greened up and hopefully a lot of water will flow into the big lake that is our water supply.  Every little bit helps.

After coffee we walked three laps in the park as the church gym is being used by a lot of kids and that is not a good place to walk.  The weather was nice this morning.

My schedule has nothing on it today so will be able to leisurely work on some projects that I want to do, including changing out monitors.  As we speak I am putting Windows Service Pack 3 on my laptop.  I ordered a new power adapter for it from eBay although it has been running on the current power adapter all evening last evening and still this morning.  I got a real good deal through eBay.  I did get the caller ID unit to use with my phone yesterday and it was brand new.  I have it set up and am using it.

Sorry to read of the illnesses among our members and that the smoke from the wild fires has reaching so far Noth.

Jane, I can no longer donate blood because I have had the hepititas as well as all the heart medicines I take.  Hope you are able to complete your 4 gallon.

Colin, doesn't sound as if you are feeling any better.  Hope today will be better for you.

Janet, I have purchased several laptops over the years.  I firmly believe there is no reason to pay much more than $500-$600 for one.  I would suggest two gigs of ram, although one gig will certainly work.  You will likely be able to get a DVD-RW unit, built in wireless, and a number of other good features including a reasonably large hard drive.  What is so nice about a laptop is being able to sit in your easychair when you want to get your feet up and use it rather than having to sit at a desk.  Occasionally I take mine out on our screened in porch.  I would hate to be without a laptop.

Not going to try to address everyone individually today but have read all the comments.  However, one more comment, I have found that when I don't have the words to so that a hug is almost alway appropriate and indicates a caring concern.  I also feel we should each think about our own experiences in being on the receiving end and how we appreciated a comment or some expression of concern or acknowledgment.  Personally, I can't imagine being offended by anyone efforts in this regard.

Hope this is a good day for everyone.

Janet

Larry, those are words to the wise, from the wise!  I agree completely.  As long as you show concern or caring, the words are secondary; people just want to be noticed.  Maybe 'noticed' is not the right word, but its opposite is 'ignored' so I'm sure you get my point.  Thanks for the advice on a laptop.

Etta Sue, I sure would wonder about a search helicopter being right above my house!  Let us know if you ever hear what they were looking for, will you?

Ruth Ann, hope you can get some rest soon.  These final working days (at the present job!  ;)) have really been hectic for you.  Fun to see your daughter in traffic!

Judy, don't trip over all those fur balls!  ;)

I have been so lazy this week I can barely believe it.  And I've enjoyed it, too!  8)

Jeannine and Jane, good to read your posts today.  I am going to suggest to Pat that we do some remodeling in here.  We should have this room made ROUND, then nobody can hide in a corner!!  ^-^

One of the ladies from our church was bitten by a spider yesterday, and the infection (or bacteria?) is spreading up her leg quickly.  The bite was on her foot--the doctor wanted to hospitalize her, but she went home and is asking for prayer.  I'm sure she accepted whatever treatment was suggested, other than going into the hospital.  Please pray for Marian (pronounced Mary Ann.)  Thanks.

My earlier post is lost in space and now I forget what I wrote. :-\

Just sold our older refrigerator that we had in the garage.  One less thing to move and less to move into our new home.  It (the new home) isn't brand new but about 15 years old so it has more up to date things than the house where we live now.  I have forgotten or not even seen what is there so it will be a surprise when we finally walk in on August 5th.

Al:  I just want to thank you once again for your comment, stated so clearly, on human reaction to others as regarding change and crises.

Jane pushed me out of the corner....!

We are having beautiful weather here on the island.  Almost afraid to mention this in case the rain comes back.  The flowers are happy, the squirrels, cats, bunnies, even the racoon, have a new zest for life.  That wild racoon that has taken up space under the neighbors shed, is actually very gentle and nice (though wild and not to be touched).  Misty and her pal, Billy, have set limits and it stays in the other yard now.  No more visits to my door.  The squirrels run around all over the place, but have their home in the forest end of both yards.  The kids created a small park at the end of the yard and it is nice.  So all seems okay in the animal kingdom.

Bad virus has cause us all problems here and seem to have finally stopped making everyone ill.  I went to Victoria with my daughter and granddaughter on Tuesday to get some things and help my daughter carry stuff.  Went on my own on the bus today, with hopes of getting a couple of tops...did okay.  Got on the Greyhound bus this morning, it was filled with smoke.  We all had to get off and wait an hour for another bus to come.  Not a good start.  While waiting, talked to some nice folks.  One, a very interesting person, lives in the town I recently left.  She is involved in helping to save the eco system and has been involved with stopping a huge development that would cause no end of problems.  Now the business people next door to her are making her life miserable.  Finds the town filled with fighting and unpleasant folk.  A very well travelled lady with much to offer, has decided after five years of this, is going to sell her home.  Have to say that this made me feel better as that had also been my experience with the place.

Sat in the front seat coming home.  A young girl (17 or 18 yrs.) didn't have enought money to pay her full fare.  Was short about $9.00....she had to get back in order to go to work.  Had spent more than planned...The driver wouldn't take her.  So I paid her fare.  The well dressed and well travelled lady next to me didn't say a word.  No offer of help.  Guess God wanted me to be on that bus.

Scotty, I love your little video.  Had budgies over the years and they are great fun.

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Liz

Sorry about that, Liz .... y'know we have to share this space and sometimes there just isn't enough room for all of us to fit in the corner ... maybe another corner???? hmmm

I tried again to donate blood and again was turned away.  I went to the internet to read about low iron -- or iron deficiency -- and it looks like that's the reason (or at least one of them) why I've been so tired lately.  I then talked with a local pharmacist and she recommended an iron supplement so .... that's what I'm taking now.  Hopefully, in a month or so, I will be back to square one and feeling better in the process.   :-\

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Our local newspaper is useless when it comes to letting people know important things like why a search helicopter was flying over your house at midnight.  Also on the highway about a quarter of a mile away was a stopped police car with the flashing lights on and a police car with flashing lights went west...but the helicopter kept on searching.  I may never know why.

I have a Green Tomato Pie in the oven and when that is done, I plan to call Ivalou and ask her to move her car from my yard so I can mow.  Kitty and I are going to Village Day's at Lapel this afternoon...the whole town is a yard sale!  1,845 people.  Hope I find some treasures so all the walking will be worthwhile.

That's it for today.  Everyone have a God filled day!!

Hi everyone.  Not many postings since yesterday, but what were here were quality!  Not much to write about today.  I spent all day yesterday working on the four computer we have that are hooked up and running, doing updates, installing software and getting everything in tip-top shape.  My laptop, which has been giving me some problems, is running for the tired day on the old adapter so things are good on that front.  I changed out one of my monitors from the CRT to the LCD flat screen that weights only 7.5 pounds.  So have more room on my desk.  I plan on continuing to do some work on the computers and a few other things as don't have anywhere I need to go today.

LIz, that was very nice of you to pay the needed fare.  It sounds like the young lady got her priorities mixed up if she overspent and didn't attend to what she need for transportation.

Janet, don't know how wise the lady was not to be hospitalized if her doctor felt it was indicated.  I have a friend who was bitten by a brown recluse spider some years ago in a very private part of his body and he neglected it until her woke up in terrible pain and was hospitaled.  When we next saw him he looked like death warmed over and had lost a lot of weight and he had been told if could have cost him his life.  Sure hope this lady doesn't experience anything so severe.

I got the following from a childhood friend, who was the daughter of my minister as I was growing up.  I thought it was very thought provoking and hope you enjoy it.  It is a bit long:

A CHRISTIAN SAYING THE LORD'S PRAYER

Rather cleverly done.   This is in two parts, the prayer and GOD  in response.  It is very, very good. (If you would like to have a copy of the e-mail, which has the prayer and God's response in different colors just send me an e-mail.)

 **********

Our Father Who Art In Heaven.

Yes?

Don't interrupt me. I'm praying.

But -- you called ME!

Called you? No, I didn't call you. I'm praying. Our Father who art in Heaven.

There -- you did it again!

Did what?

Called ME.

You said, "Our Father who art in Heaven"

Well, here I am. What's on your mind?

But I didn't mean anything by it. I was, you know, just saying my prayers for the day. I always say the Lord's Prayer. It makes me feel good, kind of like fulfilling a duty.

Well, all right. Go on.

Okay, Hallowed be thy name . .

Hold it right there. What do you mean by that?

By what?

By "Hallowed be thy name"?

It means, it means . . good grief,I don't know what it means. How in the world should I know? It's just a part of the prayer. By the way, what does it mean?

It means honored, holy, wonderful.

Hey, that makes sense. I never thought about what 'hallowed' meant before. Thanks. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.

Do you really mean that?

Sure, why not?

What are you doing about it?

Doing? Why, nothing, I guess. I just think it would be kind of neat if you got control, of everything down here like you have up there. We're kinda in a mess down here you know.

Yes, I know; but, have I got control of you?

Well, I go to church.

That isn't what I asked you. What about your bad temper? You've really got a problem there, you know.
And then there's the way you spend your money -- all on yourself. And what about the kind of books you read?

Now hold on just a minute! Stop picking on me! I'm just as good as some of the rest of those people at church!

Excuse ME. I thought you were praying for my will to be done. If that is to happen, it will have to start with the ones who are praying for it. Like you -- for example.

Oh, all right. I guess I do have some hang-ups. Now that you mention  it, I could probably name some others.

So could I.

I haven't thought about it very much until now, but I really would like to cut out some of those things.
I would like to, you know, be really free.

Good.

Now we're getting somewhere. We'll work together -- You and ME. I'm proud of You.

Look, Lord, if you don't mind, I need to finish up here. This is taking a lot longer than it usually does.
Give us this day, our daily bread.

You need to cut out the bread. You're overweight as it is.

Hey, wait a minute! What is this? Here I was doing my religious duty, and all of a sudden you break in and remind me of all my hang-ups.

Praying is a dangerous thing. You just might get what you ask for. Remember, you called ME -- and here I am. It's too late to stop now. Keep praying.  ( . pause . . ) Well, go on.

I'm scared to.

Scared? Of what?

I know what you'll say.

Try ME.

Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us.

What about Ann?

See? I knew it! I knew you would bring her up! Why, Lord, she's told lies about me, spread stories.
She never paid back the money she owes me. I've sworn to get even with her!

But -- your prayer -- What about your prayer?

I didn't -- mean it.

Well, at least you're honest. But, it's quite a load carrying around all that bitterness and resentment isn't it?

Yes, but I'll feel better as soon as I get even with her. Boy, have I got some plans for her. She'll wish she had never been born.

No, you won't feel any better. You'll feel worse. Revenge isn't sweet. You know how unhappy you are --
Well, I can change that.

You can? How?

Forgive Ann. Then, I'll forgive you; And the hate and the sin, will be Ann's problem -- not yours.
You will have settled the problem as far as you are concerned.

Oh, you know, you're right. You always are. And more than I want revenge, I want to be right with You . . (sigh). All right all right . I forgive her.

There now!

Wonderful! How do you feel?

Hmmmm. Well, not bad. Not bad at all! In fact, I feel pretty great! You know, I don't think I'll go to bed uptight tonight. I haven't been getting much rest, you know.

Yeah, I know. But, you're not through with your prayer are you? Go on.

Oh, all right. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Good! Good! I'll do that. Just don't put yourself in a place where you can be tempted.

What do you mean by that?

You know what I mean.

Yeah. I know.

Okay.
Go ahead. Finish your prayer.

For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory  forever. Amen.

Do you know what would bring me glory -- What would really make me happy?

No, but I'd like to know. I want to please you now. I've really made a mess of things. I want to truly follow you. I can see now how great that would be. So, tell me . . . How do I make you happy?

YOU just did.

JudyB

A sobering read Larry.

Larry Iwish you were here to figure out the 2 computers I have, neither of them work, One I think is the ?power unit?  you know the part the plug goes into?  The other I really don't know what the problem is.  Anyway can't afford to fix them at this point so .......

The Boss is home!  I really enjoy her company and because she is a Christian it is always good to have her around.  We are doing a "Christmas in July" this year with Christmas gifts to sew and sales of all that is in the store.  We will also be having a "Kids Sewing Camp".  They will be able to make a skirt and blouse.  The girls will enjoy that.  They have made friends here at the sewing class they have had.

I was thinking on the alterations I have been making for people.  Interesting how we sterio type alterations to just encompass clothing, when we need to broaden the meaning to include our attitudes.  Thinking of Philippians 4:8 "Whatever things are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, of good report, if there is any virtue, or praise Meditate on these things".  In daily life I think we need to set alterations in motion not just for clothing but for attitudes as well.  OK I will get off my soap box LOL.

Well I have a ton (exaggeration there!) of thread to get put away. so bye for now

Janet

Well, phooey!  The cyber gremlins gobbled up my post, too, Carol!  :clobber:  Must not have been too important.

Liz, so good to read your post today.  It was so kind of you to pay that girl's fare, and I know God will reward you.  She probably (I hope) learned a lesson, to at least put away return fare next time she goes shopping, and not spend it all.  Nice to hear that all the little critters in your neighborhood are doing well.

The Mennonite Youth are having a hamburger and home made ice cream feast for all the Senior Citizens tonight, so we are going to go.  They do this twice a year, it's always very good, and following that, they sing for us.  Lovely voices with no instruments.

Darrel and I had a nice swim this morning.  The water feels SO good!  :)

Larry, I think, too, that Marian should have gone to the hospital.  I know she is concerned about the cost, but your health is more important.  I haven't had further word today on how she is doing.

Hello to all the rest of you today!

Good evening everyone!

Our family arrived in Southern California this afternoon.  We packed up our Trooper and left our house in Idaho at 6:30am yesterday morning and stayed overnight in the high desert where it was 106 degrees and ash was falling from all the fires in CA.  It's a long drive.  $5.19 a gallon was the most expensive gas we saw on our drive here.  We are now resting at my father-in-law's house enjoying the ocean breeze, which we have missed since moving from here almost 13 years ago.

My husband is actually here on business, he is attending management school for the next two weeks, but we will be able to see him on the weekends since we are here.  Last summer when he went, we stayed home and it was not fun.  Our extended family is here in SoCal, too, so we will get to see them.  My husband's side is out of town though, so we will only see mine this time.  We will also get to visit some dear friends we haven't seen in quite some time.

Have a nice evening.  Bye for now, Kathleen   :sleepy:

Hi, friends, many posts to ponder and pray for this evening. I managed to not get my blood pressure pills into this week's 7-day pill minder. By Tuesday, my head was hurting. Wednesday, it was pounding. Even though I realized what was wrong yesterday, had to go home again with a pounding headache.

Today, though the BP has come down enough that I haven't had a headache, it was still higher than I would want it to be when I donated that second pint of blood to me for my surgery. Thanks, God, for a little rise in hemoglobin!

God's blessings to all. I've gotta head to bed shortly - have a business appt tomorrow at 9 am.

...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  Got up fairly early and have had breakfast and emptied the dishwasher, my normal morning routine.  We have a meeting to attend this morning and I will go to coffee in about 50 minutes but the rest of the day is free.

Last night I took the plunge and signed up for Weight Watchers.  I have a good friend who has had a great deal of success with it and I decided to give it a try as have allowed myself to put on weight, which isn't healthy for me.  I am going to do the online program as am a reasonably disciplined person.

There is a ton of things on the website to read and know so will spend most of the day working on that I expect.  The first week is a trial and then you pay the membership and monthly fee.  It isn't cheap but will certainly be worth the cost.  I will try not to bore you all with the details as I go along.  :)

Ruth Ann, sorry to hear of your forgetting to take your blood pressure medication.  I have all my medicine in a box and when I get ready to fill my medicine boxes for two weeks I take out one bottle at a time and put it in a particular place out of the box after taking out the medication I need.  Then on to the next one, etc. and that way I don't forget anything.  However, I have discovered a time or two that I have accidentally gotten two of the same tablet in the same slot so am careful to examine the medicine just before I take it to be sure I don't do that again.

Kathleen, it sounds like your family will enjoy a wonderful two weeks.  Glad you all were able to go with your husband this time.  That 106 degree weather didn't sound very nice.

Janet, the special dinner sound great.  That is a nice gesture by that church in your community.  It is nice to see that you are back into your swimming again as know you really enjoy it and it is so good for you.

Judy, a power supply isn't very expensive and isn't hard to replace as you just take out some screws and unplug some wires and then replace these with the new unit.  I have only had to do that with one computer.  I liked your thoughts on alterations of people and the Bible quotation.

Janet

A hot, dry wind is blowing across the plains today.  The kind of weather I dislike the most, but have to endure it, anyway.  :(

We have decided to go to Liberal to do a little shopping.  Abby's birthday (her 11th) is on Monday, and we have been invited for supper and cake tomorrow evening.  Since Grandma hasn't gotten Abby a gift yet.....well, you get the picture!  We have been talking about going all week, and putting it off.  So today's the day!

Larry, my sis goes to Weight Watchers, too.  I have been thinking about it, but so far, that's all I have done.  :-\  I, for one, wouldn't be at all bored if you share the details.

Kathleen, glad your family got to go all together.  Have a fun time, and try not to think of those awful gas prices.

The dinner and singing last night was very enjoyable.  The Mennonites are very good about giving to the community.  In the winter, they always come to town quickly to clear driveways and walks of snow.  They have a list of the addresses of elderly people and others who cannot or should not do that work.  We appreciate them!  :)

I haven't had my coffee yet, so that's where I am headed now!

Carol

The slowest coffee brewer in the world is finally ready - :coffee:  We have been religious about walking daily and Don is taking off more weight  - I really lose slowly.  Weight Watchers sounds  like a good idea - keep me posted.

Liz:  You are so compasionate.  I am too skeptical and have listened to so many con stories from the homeless that we have made a pledge to not give any more money.  Actually, the girl was probably telling the truth and just needs to get "real".  It was very kind of you to help and I hope she remembers the gesture.

Jane:  I hope you begin feeling up to par soon.

Etta Sue:  We can't look at any yard sale not after packing and sorting through this house.

JudyB:  Sewing camp for the kids.  My granddaughter really liked her week of beginning lessons I brought her to a couple of years ago.  She likes to make up something on her own last-minute ideas.

Kathleen:  Enjoy your visit to California.

Larry, I have done WW a couple of times in the past -- both times totally online (I didn't go to the meetings).  I had a lot of success and only stopped because we were on dial-up and it was sooooooo slow to try to enter the foods and stuff.

Now, however, we have a fast(er) connection, so I might look into it again.

Maybe we need a WW thread.  hahahah

Have a good weekend, ya'll!

Not much going on today.  It was raining when I got up but now it is sunny.  Ivalou needed to go for medicine at the CVS so we went out to eat in Anderson and then got her meds.

When we got back someone was in my driveway.  I didn't recognize the car.  Ivalou let me out of her car while the other car was turning around by my garage...almost hit my garage door.  The car pulled up by me and it was my high school English teacher!  She is 94 years old and still driving...she shouldn't be but she is.  ???  We had a nice chat.  She stopped to ask me if it would be alright to come back to the woods next Friday night just to say hello and not stay!  Her niece is coming in from Chicago Thursday and she doesn't want to leave her alone at home.  I told her to bring her niece and to bring her son Jim also.  He lives with his Mom now.  We will see but it was so nice to see her again.  She graduated from high school with my Mom and Dad so we talked about her age people also.  There is only 4 of her class members left from the Class of 1931!!

Time to get a book and read and rest for awhile.

Larry, I wouldn't mind you sharing what you're doing on WW.  It's a very balanced diet program.  I know that much.  I tried to join online years ago, but I was thinking that if you have access to local programs and leaders, you couldn't do it online.  I'm glad to hear they've changed to keep up with times.

It's so beautiful here today.  The weather is perfect and the sky is the prettiest blue.  Just a slight breeze in the trees, so that my wind chimes seem to be rejoicing too. :)

I feel as though today and tomorrow are my "days off" since I've been babysitting for my great grand daughter.  I guess they are!!  It feels good, though I love that little darling and have such fun watching her discover life.  I do get tired.  I was getting really REALLY tired, and kept thinking I just couldn't do this, but finally remembered to give it to the Lord and let Him take care of it all.  My stress immediately left and my energy increased, so I believe He is saying "I want you to do this for a season, and here is all you need". :)   A complete change of heart and mind.  She just turned 5 months, and is in the age of discovering her toes and trying to grab them to put in her mouth.  Babies are fun!

Blessings everyone.  Nita

Well, Larry, it looks like you've received enough requests about your boring subject of WW that we are all going to be expecting a blow by blow description of your whole experience pound by pound!!!!

I can't sleep right now so I have been online with a virtual program that lets me see what colors I might choose for the move.  I am still learning.  It is nice and cool tonight and tomorrow the heat returns.

Etta Sue:  Some of my relatives well into their 90's still drive and live alone.  I think it is frightful but one auntie really is a good driver.

Larry:  I could use some of your WW ideas too.  Perhaps we should start an entire discussion just on what you are doing and how it works?

Hi Paul!

Today's verse is living on the straight and narrow path because it leads to life and the light of all.  Thanks for the verse.

Hi everyone.  What pressure you all are putting on me to succeed.  :)  The first day went very well, including eating out at lunch.  We were eating with several others and the lady across from me told me she and her husband had done WW for a couple of years.  I was having a grilled chicken salad at a Mexican restruarant and she said she always put the salsa on her salad as it has no WW points.  It was awesome and I have the feeling I had had Mexican food without eating the chips and heavy foods.  I had one of the Smart One TV dinner for dinner, which was very good, and a nice serving of green beans, a lettuce salad and 1/2 cup of non-fat cottage cheese with some beets and finished it off with a serving of the WW ice cream bars, which were awesome.  When I added up the points I had used for the day I still had almost half of my daily points available.  I found 5 pieces of hard candy is worth two points and I enjoy that in the evening.  However, only wanted a couple of pieces.  They tell you you should use all of your points but I didn't want that much to eat.

This morning Pat went to Wal-Mart very early and stopped at McDonald's for the sausage burrito, which is worth 7 points so am a good start for today.  Pat asked me last night if I didn't want her to cook for me anymore since I stocked the freezer with several of the TV dinners.  I told her "no way" did I want her not to cook for me and I would just use the TV dinners when she doesn't feel like fixing the meal.  Enough about this for today.  Perhaps a separate little discussion on this, if there is sufficient interest and our leader doesn't feel it is outside the intent of this website.  I will say more about my experience with WW in the days to come.

I got the new power adapter for my laptop yesterday afternoon in the mail but that didn't solve the problem.  I did somemore searching on the Internet and think I discovered the problem and that is the power jack into the back of the computer has a lose connection or broken wire.  I will call tomorrow to see how much it would cost to fix it but doubt I will go that route as it cost $125 just to get it cleaned and according to a website I saw you really have to tear the laptop down into many pieces to resolder the wire and the labor will be very expensive.  So I will probably be ordering a new one this next week.

Carol, there are a lot of decisions to make when one is moving to another home.  Hope you find just the right colors.

Nita, I don't think I realized you were babysitting again.  Those little ones sure do quickly capture our hearts.  They do such cute things.

Etta Sue, I think your garage door is lucky considering the circumstances.  It sounds like you had a nice visit and I am sure the other lady enjoyed it as well.

Karmat, I can see why you wouldn't want to try to do WW's online with a dialup.  It takes a lot of time on a highspeed connection as there is so much information available.  They have some really neat features and helpful tools and you keep track online rather than on paper.

Janet, I feel that I have watched Abby grow up since we have been writing on this site several years.  She sounds like a very special little girl.  I am sure you will find a very special present for her.

We are off to church soon but don't have to be there until 11:15.  Then we will probably go out with the group and that will be the day's activities.  Hope everyone has a great day.

Marilyn

Hi everyone I am back online, I stayed off for the weekend as I had company here. We had a nice visit and took the dogs for a run on both days. I actually ran about  a block which was enough for me.

 Hey, guys.

Did you know that there is a place in New Zealand, called Christland! Neat, isn't it?

Janet

We got home a little while ago after having a nice supper and visit with Abby and her parents, also the other grandparents and her great-grandma, who is now 103 years old!  I made bread and cinnamon rolls when we got home from church this afternoon, while Darrel made homemade ice cream, to take for the supper.  Diane made lasagna, garlic bread and green beans, so we all had more than enough to eat.

I got Abby a game called "Apples to Apples" which she requested.  My niece brought that game to reunion, and a bunch of them had a blast playing it--all ages.  Abby got another American Girl doll, plus an American Girl cookbook, and an outfit for the new doll.  Her other grandma got her a scrapbook with supplies for it, and we got her several other little things, so she had a good birthday.  GGMa gave her money, always a good choice for older kids!  ;)  She said she will buy school clothes with it.

Larry, I will look up WW online when I have some time.  I am not doing as much now, but still feel pressured time-wise.  Your food today sounded really good!

Nita, I can understand your being tired, but also how much you love and enjoy that sweet baby.  Wish I could see my ggrand more.  She will be one year old on Sept 25--doesn't seem possible.

Hi, Paul!  And Carol, and Etta Sue, and Marilyn......and the rest of you, too!  Oh!  Mustn't leave ScottyBoy out!  8)
