Morning Devotional...

Worship:
Our Reason for Existence

Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. --Psalm 29:2

Yes, worship of the loving God is man's whole reason for existence. That is why we are born and that is why we are born again from above. That is why we were created and that is why we have been recreated. That is why there was a genesis at the beginning, and that is why there is a re-genesis, called regeneration.

That is also why there is a church. The Christian church exists to worship God first of all. Everything else must come second or third or fourth or fifth....

Sad, sad indeed, are the cries of so many today who have never discovered why they were born. It brings to mind the poet Milton's description of the pathetic lostness and loneliness of our first parents. Driven from the garden, he says, "they took hand in hand and through the valley made their solitary way.
Dr. Tozer in " Whatever Happened to Worship?, 56-57.

"Oh Lord, we live in a world that has so totally lost its way! How few have any concept at all of their reason for existence. How sad to see so many all around us who 'took hand in hand and through the valley made their solitary way.' Use me today to direct at least one to the right path. Amen."

It's Monday again.  Bernard is at work, he's going to try and make it most, if not all, of the day today.  He said a few minutes ago that his chest bone is hurting though. :(

Now, if I can keep kristi and travis from fighting all day, I'll be a happy camper.  They love to pick and provoke eachother.  If it didn't get old, it would be funny.

Have a great day everyone!

We have a lovely day up here.  The sun is shining and a wonderful breeze taking away the intensity of the heat.  I have to finish mowing, ran out of gas so I will be back at it today.

Keep Kassie in prayer.  She is sick yet again.

Small group has been switched to tomorrow, the leader has something with family on today.  That is the greatness of our group.  They are so versitile.  Looks like our next study will be the book of Romans.  I am looking forward to that, as it is so foundational.

Well I will be back
Love y'all

Good morning.  Pat!  I am so sorry!!  Happy Belated Birthday to You!!

I got a new crown this morning.  And a check from the dentist for when I overpaid.  That was a surprise that will help a lot!  So I went to the bank and then the Dollar General for a few items.  Then to Subway for my lunch.

Kitty called and she may stop by and we will go to Kohl's for her to get a new pair of pants.  And Kitty nor her SIL, Cherie, will be going to Photo Guild tonight so I am staying home instead of spending that money for gas.

I got a call from the surgery center about my surgery tomorrow.  No food or drink after midnight.  I can take my blood pressure pill in the morning and be at the surgery center by 10am.  I am ready to get it over with.

Etta Sue:  Rest well tonight and best wishes for your surgery tomorrow.

Colin:  Nice to read your post.

Larry:  You are so right - into every group there is someone who just has to be heard.  It is annoying to the others because one is newly widowed and others have fought cancer, widowed, and one is dealing with husband's Alzheimer's Disease.  These are strong women and I admire their passion for this one hobby of quilting and their generous contributions to anyone who needs help.  A couple of the women are going to pull weeds one day at the new widow's house - just a for instance.  Yes, good to break bread with friends and I need to do that more.

Good Afternoon all,
:-[Happy Belated Birthday Pat! :-[
things have been a little busy here. hubby is not doing as he should, may end up in the hospital with dehydration, radiation is done though. If he is not careful, he will kill himself. :clobber:

Michael is fine. Will do summer school again this summer. Hard to believe he is considered a 5th grader.

I go thursday for pre-op for surgery on June 28. Will finally get the shoulder taken care of.

Been stopping in and reading and praying. Just a lot of the same stuff going on in my corner of the world so have kept quiet with the coffee and working on our website. May you all have a God filled and blessed day!

There is a Canadian lady named Pat Scott
On her birthday boiled Irish Stew in a pot
And thought for her dinner it would be goody
She awoke from a doze in the afternoon
Came to the table with a dish and a spoon
And discovered all the stew had been eaten by her sister Judy.

There you are Pat...I did write you a little poem! :uglystupid:

Hi Judy...you are six years younger than Pat...you dont look your age either!

Hello Everyone.  Not much new here, I couldn't get on the Internet again this morning. Must still be problems with that fiber optic cable . I am getting fed up with the cable company anyway.

Cute poem Colin we have missed you and your lovely poems..

I took the dogs for their walks already, it is kinda windy here today but it is so pretty out side. I love listening to the  wind blowing through the trees. However  I have little green plums all over my one side of my back yard. Last year I didn't get very many plums to eat they blew off before they got ripe.

Hello, everyone! I finally remembered to pop in here on Monday!

Happy Belated Birthday, Pat!!

We got some rain this weekend - spread out over a couple of days, I think we had about an 1/8 of an inch! But at least it was some. It's just so hot out there now - my "boomerang" son made the comment today that he might just coat himself "with some lemon-pepper and bake awhile!"

Tim started back to work today - he's been off since March because we went to CA for a conference, and then he had foot surgery when we got back. I also went to work fulltime today. I work at home (YAY!) but it's still fulltime. Haven't done that in many years, but since I haven't had any projects since January, we didn't have a choice.

I'll try to check in here more often. It's nice getting to know all of you.

Blessings,
Tracy

Oh, Jeannine, it's so nice to see you here.  I'm sorry about your dear hubby.  Glad Michael is going to attend summer school though.  I always look for news of him.

Tracy, so happy to see you.  Are you anywhere near to Newcastle?  Frogsplinta55 send me a video of a huge ship that got beached in that storm.  She had no power or electricity for over 4 days with roads washed out, etc.

Hi to Marilyn, Karma and Judy and Larry!

Hi to you too, Carol.

Thanks Etta Sue for the birthday greeting.

Hooray! I won't be "out of hand time" any more. The surgeon says use the left hand as much as I wish.

Etta Sue, God bless you. I'll be praying for you tonight and tomorrow.

It's really good to hear from everyone today.

Y'all have a good day.

Hello!  I'm finally back online.  When I got home on Friday, Darrel said our internet had been out since Wednesday, when the wind blew a gale.  They said our router is out again, so hooked my computer in direct and he can't get online until we buy another router.  That makes at least three of them that have gone bad.  >:(

I had a great week painting, and completed three nice paintings.  But on Friday I had a call from Diane (daughter) saying that grandson Mark had gotten badly burned at work, was in an ambulance on the way to the hospital.  Today he had skin grafts on his ear and his arm.  He says the leg where they  took the skin for the grafts hurts a lot worse than the burns do.  Poor guy, he looked really awful when they brought him from surgery.  He was burning trash and it exploded, blowing fire in his face, so of course he threw up his arm to protect his face.  He got burned on most of his face, especially the right side, and the right ear, and right arm.  It set his hair on fire, and he knew he was on fire, so he rolled in the wet grass to put himself out, then went into the house to splash cold water on it and call his boss back to take him to the hospital.  His boss had just taken off in his spray plane but came right back.

Diane has been there with Mark most of the time, and he is a trooper.

I had to take Beth to the same hospital Mark is in today for another MRI, so was glad I could be with Diane while Mark was in surgery, and see him when he got out.  By the time I got home I was exhausted, Beth is so hard to take places, and she wanted to get some new clothes, some other things and a few grocery items.  I am going to bed in a few minutes.

See you later, and prayers for Mark will, of course, be greatly appreciated.  I have a neat story in connection with that, will share it later.

Hi, Ruth Ann--that's good news!  We were posting at the same time.

Hi, checking in.  Kitty asked me over for pizza.  Her daughter and two grandchildren from Ohio was there.  Her daughter's friend and her three kids...they went to the Indianapolis Zoo today.  Also Bob's brother, his wife, daughter and granddaughter was there.  It was real cute.  The two little ones are 16months and 15 months old.  One quiet...the other a tornado!  But they did warm up to each other and they got pictures of them sitting on the swing together....just one and the tornado was off again!

So I am eating pizza at 10pm!!  No food or drink after midnight.  I was going to have Ivalou come over for pizza but thought it was a little late for us young uns to have a pizza party!

Janet ~ So glad you are back.  Sorry about the internet connections.  And prayers will be for Mark.

Pixnpen ~ I see you are from Alabama.  Beautiful country down there.  My husband was raised in Anniston.

Colin ~ My birthday is Sept 8.  You have almost three months to compose a poem for me!!  Make it a good one!  (as if any of your poems are bad ^-^)

One more piece of pizza and I am heading for bed with my book!

Thanks for all your concerns and prayers for my surgery tomorrow.  You will never know how much both are appreciated!  Thanks!

:) Hi everyone, just got back from a mini vacation in Gulf Shores, Alabama.  Had 4 lovely days at the beach, and now I'm tired but tan!  Kids had a ball, as usual.  Found lots and lots of shells for our collection, and even saw a dolphin or two, coming out of the water!  Tried to take a picture, but they are so hard to get.

I got to visit with my older brother while down there, he lives in Saraland, Al. (Just moved last year) It was the first time to see him in at least 3 yrs!

I've gotten caught up on all the posts I've missed, and will be praying for all of the needs mentioned.

So glad to be back home.

Happy Belated Birthday Pat!

Later,
Samantha

I remember a saying "It never rains but it pours" and it seems that is the case here as well.  Just one thing after another but we all know that our Heavenly Rather is totally in charge!  I am most certainly praying for all the needs that have been mentioned recently as well as for the ones from previous posts.

Janet, I did miss you and am praying for both Mark and Beth, as well as for you and Darrel ... may you be strengthened and kept in perfect peace through all this.

Etta Sue you know I'll be in prayer for you.    <3

Ruth Ann that is really good news of improvement and increased "hand time" for you.... God is good -- all the time!

I'm off to take care of other things and stuff but y'all need to know that I'm here and I'm remembering all y'all in prayer.......

Hi everyone.

We had no phone service for almost the entire day yesterday.  This met that I had no Internet all day either.  The whole area was out and the stores could not process credit cards or debit cards.  Pat also went to the library and the automatic scanner didn't work.  Around  3pm our phone service came back on but our next door neighbor's didn't.  Strange.

I saw my heart doctor that put in the ICD.  All is well with it and it hasn't fired one time.  However, it is pacing my heart about 94% of the time because the heart rate gets too slow.  I had to drive to almost downtown.

We spoke with our daughter and her job ended on Friday.  She knew this was coming so is back in the job market.  Hopefully she won't have such a difficult time getting a job this time since she has been working.  She seems to be feeling pretty well.

Janet, so sorry to hear about your grandson getting burned.  That was certainly not the way you wanted to end up the nice week you had painting.  I hope he has a quick recovery but burns are really tough.

Good to see everyone posting.

Pat, a belated Happy Birthday.  I saw the announcement on SeniorNet and then forgot to mention it here.  It sounds like you had a nice day with family in attendance.

Etta Sue, I will be thinking of you today as you have your surgery.

Not going to address many here today but have read all the postings.  Will give you all a break with a shorter posting.  :)

THE RACE ROAD

Like many flakes of drifting snow
Petals bedeck your banks with frothy white
Sycamore and Ash stand proud in each hedge row
Leafy canopy letting in the dappled light

You are the place of far gone childhood
Passing by the home where I abode
Memories flicker of bad and good
When you cross my mind my quiet Race road

I often walked your length and climbed your trees
Sleighed down you in the deep piled snow
Knew your hardness as I grazed my knees
When I tripped from running and down I'd go

Your are the place I know so well
Your twisting turns and every bend
Oh what of life I could tell
When as a child on you time I did spend

By meadow vale green you did pass
As a crying boy prayed on his knees
And I sat alone in flower strewn grass
Shadowed by your lofty trees

The rippling stream knew my tears
From beneath your surface it flowed along
And the Saviour came to take my fears
To right my life from what was wrong

Oh winding road that's called the Race
You have a beginning and an end
Like the road that by God's grace
I must travel where it may wend

Quiet Race road I think of you
To me your are a special place
And when God calls me home beyond the blue
Life's road will be ended and I will have finished the race

Colin Moffett

I have some pics posted of the Race Road...dont know how to get them on here! Take care everyone.

Special prayers going heavenward for our Etta Sue today.  Also for Stacey, and all the other needs mentioned here.  I haven't yet had time to go back and catch up on the postings I missed while I was away, and after I got home but the internet wasn't working (really it was our router, but same effect!)

Colin, my birthday is next week!  So you can start thinking of a poem for me, too!  I think you started something with that.  ;)

I called to check on Mark, he was feeling better last night---ate his supper, then a whole pizza, so he is on the road to recovery.  Still a lot of pain, but we pray that will lessen each day.  If his pain is controlled, he will come home today, but be confined to the house for at least a week--NO SUN!!

Darrel needs my help with some alarm work and he is ready to go, so I must get going!

/Colin and Jeannine:       What a beautiful site you have made.  Loved the songs....and poetry, pictures and all.  Very nice.

Janet:  My prayers for Mark and a painless recovery.  That day was much too stressful for you.  Did Beth get some new and colorful clothes?

Pat:  What could be nicer than a poem from Colin composed just for you!  Congrats

A beautiful soft rain here today, always thankful for a soaking rain.

But Colin!  :'( Sniff.  That one's been done so many times already.  May I not have a new one?  ;)

Yes, Carol, Beth got some new clothes.  So many that I told her "You don't need to buy a whole new wardrobe at once!"  Her clothes keep disappearing t the Care Home.  It's a mystery.

We are home again, still so much to do, but wanted to check in.  Later!

Good Afternoon. I am wondering how Etta Sue is doing? I had a very short note from Pinkie yesterday in response to one I wrote her. She said she  doesn't feel up to messing around trying to remember her log-in info. those are not her words but my interpretation of them. I am sure she would love to hear from all y-all. She is at home with hospice keeping her pain at a tolerable level.

Janet the only solution to the problem of mysteriously  disappearing clothes I have found is to not let the home do the laundry. How is Mark doing? I am so sorry to hear about his burns.

Great poem Colin.

I have to eat early and go to Ruth's early so I can leave just before 4:30 to get to a ballgame. Forest's team is in the 2nd game of a tournament. Gilbert called me this morning. Saturday is Savannah's 11th birthday and she wants some stuff of Bed Bath and Beyond for her bedroom at their new house. I got her a $50. gift card to get her started.

Hi, friends,

It's kinda late, and I have lots of things to do.

I've prayed on and off all day as I worked for various needs mentioned here. Do hope Etta Sue's surgery went well, and that Janet's grandson will improve - burns really are tough.

Y'all have a good evening.

Hi everyone.

We had a second evening with some significant rain last night.  Each storm that goes through seems to be accompanied with a lot of lightning and winds and there were several houses hit in our county and elsewhere in the metro area as well as many trees falling because the roots have bveen weakened by the drought.

I have another busy day, at least for me.  After coffee we have Bible study at the church with our minister.  We are studying the book of Isaiah.  Following that I have a ultra-sound of the aorta this afternoon.  I am fasting until after the ultra-sound.  Then this evening is choir.  We are fast approaching our summer month off from the choir so our practices are getting a little shorter each week.  That will be plenty for one day.

Janet, I hope today finds your grandson feeling better.  I understand that burn pains are very severe.  On your router, you might try hitting the reset button.  Sometimes they lose their memory and appear to be broken when they are not.  My friend Rod, who is a computer expert, just had this experience over the weekend and initially thought his router was bad or his Comcast service was down.  He finally pushed the reset button and he was back online.

I hope Etta Sue is doing well and will be back home shortly to start her recovery.  Two weeks in a short period of time without being able to speak seems like "cruel and unusual punishment".  However, now, Etta Sue has experience from the first time.

Thanks everyone for your prayers for our daughter and for Pat and I.  See seems to be doing good with her heart situation and is to see the chiropractor today as her feet are so numb from the neuropathy.  She is also looking for a new job.

Marilyn, I know you enjoyed the ballgame last evening.  Your gift to your granddaughter is very nice. Thanks for the report from Pinkee.  So sorry to hear of her health situation.

Colin, another very nice poem.  It is nice to see you postings some poetry again.

Hi Carol, Ruth Ann, Jeannine and all who visit here today.  Let's enjoy this day that God has granted us.

Morning all,

Still reading and praying for all here. Try to remember names but don't always, just know I pray as I read and stay quiet.

With Father's day coming thought I'd post a poem. Sorry Colin, not trying to steal your thunder...lol But I thought this would be good to post because we need to remember every day we have is because of our heavenly Father and everyday is His. I hope you like it.

THE FATHER'S LOVE

The Father's love for us so deep
Sent His Son to die, our souls to keep
His blood shed on Calvary
Is there for us, to be set free

Set free from the bondage of sin
The things that leave us empty within
To turn from sin, hear His call
To repent and accept, give Him your all

For the blood He shed so freely
Will cleanse our souls completely
What once was stained darkest hue
Will be made white, clean and new

Blessed Saviour, by Your love and mercy
You have set my soul free
From the chains sin laid on me
I give you my heart completely

Now I know the Father's love
And a home for me awaits above
What joy my soul shall feel
When before His throne I kneel

But for now I will humbly bend my knee
And give thanks and praise to thee
For my heart knows praise, and the joy You bring
And I will forever praise my King

Jeannine Faith

May you all have a God filled and blessed day!
Still Trusting In Him

Hello Jeannine:  Our resident poetress!  Lovely poem.

Colin:  I did bookmark your  other site as well.  How do you find the time?

Janet:  It is the saddest thing that so many things are lost in assistance homes.  My mother's wedding ring and her nice robe, then tee shirts that she had bought in Arizona.  Why do people think that they deserve your things.  Shame on them.  Oh, nice to read that Mark was able to eat pizza.

Larry:  I have been noticing that many of your days begin with coffee with the guys.  Good for you!

The noisy Starling family just left us a few days ago and it was quiet as usual around here.  Now, the neighbors on one side are getting carpet - pounding noise & our windows are open for fresh air.  Next will be a roofing on the other side of our house - that neighbor.  It takes a lot of effort to keep a house going and we are so fortunate to live where people do care and all of us can get this work done.

Praying for Beruit.

I was to be there by 10am and surgery was to be 11am.  They didn't come get me until 11:30am.  Surgery was only about 15 minutes.  But they tell me, I didn't want to wake up.  I didn't get back to my room until 3pm.  They say my blood pressure rose so they gave me medication to get it down...then it went too low...so they gave me medication to raise it.  When I got back to the room, the oxygen level in my blood was too low so I was put on oxygen.  My BP was low and finally it went back up to a desirable level.  When I first went in at 10, my BP was 108 over 66.  That's might low numbers but then I don't know that much about the numbers.  We didn't leave the surgery center until 6:55pm!!!  I was still groggy!  My temp when I went in was low...95°.  Last night it was okay.  Ivalou went home.  We decided if I needed her, I could call and when she saw my name on the Caller ID, she would come over.  I was up and down all night...bathroom, coughing, spitting...a full blown cold again!!  Inky wouldn't leave me alone...she must have known I wasn't feeling good.  Ivalou came over this morning before I got up.  My temp was 100.5°.  At noon it was back to normal.  Now about every muscle in my body is sore.  I had that two times before from the anesthetic.  Whatever they gave me yesterday, I sure don't want that stuff again!!  My throat is still sore but I am much better now than I was a few hours ago.

Now I feel a nap coming on.

What an ordeal, Etta Sue!  Yesterday was really a tough one for you but I am glad you had Ivalou with you and that she is nearby to come running when you need her.

Now, you have only to GET BETTER FAST and no talking.

Carol, that's so true!  Mom's things disappear, too, even things like face creams, and both hers and Beth's family reunion tee shirts!  And Beth's tee shirts that she and John got alike.  Now, why would anyone else want your shirts with your name on them?  Beats me, but it is so frustrating..........grrrr.

Etta Sue, glad your really tough day is in the past now, and pray each day will find you getting better and better.  Tell Ivalou for us that we are so glad she is there for you.  (And you for her.)  Hugs.

This will probably be my last post until next week.  We are leaving in the morning for our family reunion up near Emporia, Kansas.  I have to go get Abby tonight, and in the morning pick up Beth.  It will be really hard to take care of Beth, but I have three nieces who work in care situations who have promised to help.

Gotta go, Darrel is waiting.  We want to see Mark again before leaving.

I'm just popping in to see how Etta Sue is doing.  I see she is home and so sorry about the cold, Etta Sue.   Hurry and get well.

Mark was burned?!!  Bless his heart.  I'm so glad it wasn't worse, Janet.  It's a good sign that he can eat a whole pizza. :)

We are back home, and I wanted to tell you all that Mark is doing well.  He said the only real pain now is where they harvested the skin for the grafts.  I told him he looks like he just came home from Iraq--and it makes my heart ache for the families of all those who have been injured there.  Sometimes I think we don't give enough thought to the life-changing injuries they suffer in their jobs of protecting us.  Anyway, now we can go to reunion and not be worrying about Mark the whole time; he is going to be just fine.  Thanks for your prayers.

Abby is out in the van, hooking up Beth's new DVD player so they can watch movies on the road.  It will give them something to do on the way and make the time pass faster.

Abby's town got flooded today!  Over two inches of rain in less than a half hour, and the streets looked like rivers!

See you all when we return.

Hello all!

Janet, glad to hear Mark is feeling better.  I've heard burns can be some of the most painful injuries, but it sounds like he is trooping right along.  I agree with your sentiments about our soldiers.  I test homeschoolers, and one of them I am testing in July has had his father in Iraq for the past year.  I told the mother I wasn't charging them for the test, as a thank you, but she still wants to pay.  Hope you have a safe trip.

Etta, glad to hear you are recovering okay.  Sorry about the cold.  that has got to be annoying.  Hope tomorrow has you feeling lots and lots better.

Bernard said to tell ya'll "HI"  He's feeling a lot better and is putting in almost full days at work right now.

Have a good 'un.

Well, it's late and work stress continues - I worked 11 hours today, but, PRAISE GOD, He answered a prayer that cleared up my confusion as to how to meet the next Monday data analysis deadline that had me stumped.

I'm so VERY thankful that sometimes, just in the nick of time, He answers a desperate plea for help and leads the way to a resolution of the problem at hand.

Etta Sue, Karma and Janet, I'm so thankful to hear that things are better. Have been, and will continue to be praying for the requests made known here.

Thanks for the poem, Jeannine. Still praying about your hubby's condition.

Y'all have a good evening.

Nice reading the poems of Colin and Jeannine.  I paid a visit to the sites and will go back and spend more time as much to enjoy.  Have missed your jokes, Colin and hope you post lots in the future.

This has been a lovely day without rain.  Sort of an unusual day with strange things happening...

Wendy was outside in the front garden and called me to come....down the block two cats were in a fight.  Seems Billy was getting whipped by a large black cat.  Misty never goes out of the yard but was heading down the street as fast as her plump little body would go...off to rescue Billy ( the cat would always comes to visit and play with her).  She never gets into fights, but was determined to keep him safe!  This from a cat who is afraid of her own shadow.  I grabbed her, Wendy managed to get down the street to stop the fight, but Billy did end up with a sore leg and was badly scared.  One day when Wendy was weeding the front yard, a large dog came along and tho' friendly, could have knocked her over, due to her being disabled.  Misty was there, chased the dog down the street to his own yard, then came back and stood guard.  Sometimes think that animals are more caring than humans.... When it comes to those she loves, that cat is fearless!

Think my guardian angels were working overtime today.  Misty could have been killed by a vehicle that came down the street and I got her in time.  She is not traffic wise.  Then I went to the store, came home, looked down and saw that my gold chain was dangling from my shirt.  It is lovely, but also held a lovely gold cross that my son gave me years ago.  Last present ever received.  I have worn it every day for years.  Could have lost the chain, thought the cross was lost, then discovered it had lodged in my bra.  What are the chances of that...?  Two blessings in one day.  :)

It is late and this old lady is tired, so will simply say that I pray for everyone and am glad that Etta Sue is home and okay.

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Liz

Hi everyone.  We are just back from the dentist.  We were able to get all of our cleaning and fillings done this morning.  I was in the dentist chair for about 2 hours, about 90 minutes of that time with the dentist.  I hate to think what the bill will be but at least we didn't have to have crowns this time.  I had a huge filling in an upper front tooth, where a filling had come out and the dentist found a lot more decay.

We may once again have some rain later today.  We had just a very brief shower yesterday afternoon, not enough to measure.

Etta Sue, hope you feel a lot better shortly.

Janet, certainly good news about your grandson.  Enjoy your family reunion.

I feel a nap coming on as it is almost 2 pm so will be brief for today.

THE RACE ROAD

Like many flakes of drifting snow
Petals bedeck your banks with frothy white
Sycamore and Ash stand proud in each hedge row
Leafy canopy letting in the dappled light

You are the place of far gone childhood
Passing by the home where I abode
Memories flicker of bad and good
When you cross my mind my quiet Race road

I often walked your length and climbed your trees
Sleighed down you in the deep piled snow
Knew your hardness as I grazed my knees
When I tripped from running and down I'd go

Your are the place I know so well
Your twisting turns and every bend
Oh what of life I could tell
When as a child on you time I did spend

By meadow vale green you did pass
As a crying boy prayed on his knees
And I sat alone in flower strewn grass
Shadowed by your lofty trees

The rippling stream knew my tears
From beneath your surface it flowed along
And the Saviour came to take my fears
To right my life from what was wrong

Oh winding road that's called the Race
You have a beginning and an end
Like the road that by God's grace
I must travel where it may wend

Quiet Race road I think of you
To me your are a special place
And when God calls me home beyond the blue
Life's road will be ended and I will have finished the race

Colin Moffett

I have some pics posted of the Race Road...dont know how to get them on here! Take care everyone.

Lovely Colin.  I really like that so much!

Keep them coming my friend.

THE FATHER'S LOVE

The Father's love for us so deep
Sent His Son to die, our souls to keep
His blood shed on Calvary
Is there for us, to be set free

Set free from the bondage of sin
The things that leave us empty within
To turn from sin, hear His call
To repent and accept, give Him your all

For the blood He shed so freely
Will cleanse our souls completely
What once was stained darkest hue
Will be made white, clean and new

Blessed Saviour, by Your love and mercy
You have set my soul free
From the chains sin laid on me
I give you my heart completely

Now I know the Father's love
And a home for me awaits above
What joy my soul shall feel
When before His throne I kneel

But for now I will humbly bend my knee
And give thanks and praise to thee
For my heart knows praise, and the joy You bring
And I will forever praise my King

Jeannine Faith

Lovely, Jeannine.  I think I'll print that and put it inside my Bible.

Hi everyone.

I awoke around 5 am this morning to the noise of the rain coming down fairly hard and it continued until just a few minutes ago.  It sure was a good way to wake up for the day as we need the rain so badly.

One of my coffee drinking buddies is a big gardener.  He sells produce from his garden at his home.  This year in one of his three gardens he is raising watermelons and told me this week that he has over 500 plants and they are doing well.  He also has around 300 or more tomoto plants and they are also doing very well.  Of course, he raises many other items in his garden.  He is over 75 and his knees give him fits but he loves to garden.

Not much new since I last wrote.  Pat, was glad to see that you are getting a weekend away.  I bet I know the reason you are going to see Judy, to visit the little chicks!  :)  Hope you all have a marvelous time and get some rest.

Etta Sue, sure hope your aches are abating now.

Jeannine, so sorry that your husband isn't trying to help himself.  The dehydration is certainly not good for him.  I was glad to see you are healthy and will be getting your shoulder taken care of.

Time to leave for coffee as am picking up my next door neighbor.

Yay!!  I am among the living today.  Rough night with coughing, getting up, spitting and all that stuff!  Got up around daylight and went back to bed.  Slept great.  Got up around 9am.  Took a shower.  Washed my hair.  Cleaned the kitty potty.  Ivalou came over to check on me...what a comfort to know she is next door.  I have even walked my 20 minutes.  Slow but walked.  Still coughing so may go to the pharmacist to see what I can take with the drugs I am taking, high blood pressure and diabetis.  Need to find that out anyway.

But I do believe I am on the up side now.  Thank God!  All I know is getting old isn't for wimps!!

Again, thanks to all of you who prayed, sent emails or even thought about me during this time.  God Bless You All!

Etta Sue I am glad to hear that you feel like  you are back among the living again.

Karma good to see that Nards is back to work at full time.

Larry glad you got some rain. We have heard here in California that the whole state except from Eureka to Crescent City is in drought.  So we have had plenty of rain here, but it does seem to be drier than previous years.

I have two tomatoes on my little plant. I am going to plant some bell peppers  over the weekend I saved some seeds and want to see if they will grow.

Hey there Colin and Jeannine What's new y-all?

Samantha, Nita, Jane etc Hey!! Check out my blog and leave a comment. The link is in my signature.

I am preparing enough food for Ruth for the entire weekend including her breakfast. I want to make sure she  has plenty to eat. I made her a nice quiche with bacon, onion, green pepper and two kinds of cheese. She brought home part of her dinner from the Senior Center today so that is also one meal. I made a big salad and put in in the fridge and I am going to make fajita fixin's tonight enough for two meals.

The weekend caregiver doesn't follow instructions very well, she tells me she knows them but forgets them. So I left her a note. Last Saturday she left Ruth with a hard boiled egg, ½ potato, and a small piece of corn on the cob  for supper. Ruth called me and said she didn't have anything to eat. I had told the the other caregiver to fix her a full meal.

She told me that Ruth can dress herself and comb her own hair. Sometimes she can but she needs to be reminded to put on clean  pull-up underwear every day and wash her, She is incontinent. As far as I am concerned no one takes better care of her than I do and if they don' t meet my standards they don't need to be there.

Ok I will get off my soapbox., I get so frustrated with people who do not follow instructions and don't CARE about the patient.

Good Morning all,

Hi Marilyn ~ I totally understand where you are coming from about being caregiver and being a little  :ticked: with others who don't follow directions taking care of another. I get that alot with the nurses who come to care for Michael, they just do a poor job and leave a mess, etc. Hope things improve for you.

Ruth Ann ~ hope everything is better today for you.

Etta Sue ~ glad you are feeling better as well.

Hi Larry ~ it has been very difficult for him. I don't know what to do. I can talk to him til I am blue in the face but it is up to him. He is the one who has to make the decision to live or not.

Hi to everyone else, Colin, Janet, Karmat, Al, Pat and everyone else. Still reading and praying. Have a God filled and blessed day!

Still Trusting in Him,

Hello Everyone> It has turned out to be a beautiful day here on the north coast. The wind is bit much but at lest the sun is shining. When I went shopping today I  bought a Lavendula plant. The one I had last year froze last winter, this time I am going to put it in the ground out where there is no shade.

The eating healthy and right is sure getting expensive. I can't believe I am spending so much on just me. I am buying stuff that I never would spend the money on before.  Like Turkey breast white meat cutlets and turkey Italian sausages.  I am back on the 1200 Calories Phase one  again, I gained back almost two of the 6 lbs I lost so I backed up on my diet.  :-[

I wonder where every one is? I know Pat, Janet and Al are away for a few days. So what is your excuse? yeah You! You know who you are. <3

Well back to the observation corner, hey Jane ya got an extra chair over there?

Marilyn, sometimes I'm a "guest" from work. We cannot participate in forums at work, and with more than 14,000 employees using the company computers and their band width, I can certainly see why they have to put restrictions on us.

But, occasionally, when I'm either low emotionally, or need to take a moment's break from deep concentration, I'll sneak in the back door for just a few moments.

Yes, I'm rested more now, and did a few of the daily things like grocery shopping, talking with a friend, etc.

Now, it's time to greet everyone before I head back in to work late this evening to try to meet Monday's deadline. Finally, about 11 pm, I awakened, and knew the final steps I need to take to get the work done.

I agree about those who are caregivers - they really must try to empathize, yet guide their clients.

My daughter in law was involved in an accident on the interstate while driving on her job not long ago. She was hit from behind so hard that now she's going to need back surgery for fusion of either two or three disks, with the third one being a disk removal, if the doctor can't fuse it.

There was some type of very painful test they performed on her yesterday that she said had her "crying like a baby." It involved inserting a huge, long needle from her side, into each disk, and making more pressure inside the disks so they could measure something about the damage done. She said, "Mom, I've borne two babies completely naturally without even an aspirin for pain, and this was FAR worse than either birth."

So, I would appreciate your prayers for them as they endure the pain with both of their bad backs (she's already had to have 2 back surgeries, and my son's had 4). And, for guidance for the medical personnel as they care for them.

Etta Sue, i hope you've improved even more and that you'll hear good results from the operation you've gone through.

Prayers for all the other requests. My prayer list goes with me everywhere I go and my Lord and I spend time with each other about all our prayer concerns.

It's good to hear from y'all - I hope Pat and Judy are enjoying their precious time together.

Y'all have a good remainder of the day.

Ruth Ann

Hi everyone.

Welcome home Al.  Hope you had a wonderful trip.  Janet is now attending a family reunion, as I recall.  Guess it is that time of the year for graduations, family gatherings and vacations.  Pat was also away this weekend visiting Judy and family and those new little chicks.

Our daughter is here this weekend and looks and is feeling so much better now that the blockage in her heart has been opened with the new stent.  We are going to church in about 30 minutes and then out to eat, probably at the Golden Corral.

It is suppose to be pretty hot here today, up to 92.  We are very thankful for the rain we have received as things have really greened up.  More showers are forecast by the middle of this week but no rain today.

I will have to take our daughter back to her apartment later this afternoon.  I slept in this morning as was tired from a long trip we took yesterday to North Georgia.  When I started the car to make the return trip the service and security lights came on so suppose there are some new troubles.  It could be just a sensor misfiring and will see if the lights are still on this morning.  I think I will take it to the dealer this week for the 100,000 service and get a new timing belt.  We are about 5,000 miles short of the 100,000 but it has to pass inspection in about 3 weeks and this is going to need to be done soon anyway.

Ruth Ann, so sorry to hear of the back injury that your daughter experienced.  Our roads are so dangerous with so much traffic on our roads and the multiple lanes where people are constantly weaving in an out.  It sounds like back problems are a plague to your family.

Marilyn, I bet that caregiver fixed herself a good meal.  Isn't it a shame they don't show the same concern for those in their care.  I know you must be a super caregiver.

Etta Sue, glad that your cold is getting better and you should soon be able to talk again.  Might be hard to go to a baseball game and not be able to cheer.  :)

Hope everyone has a good day.

Larry I spoke to my patient last evening, and the other caregiver did NOT do any of the things I left instructions for her to do. No physical therapy, not meal, just took her out for a ride and to a restaurant to eat breakfast..

I had a nice time at Savannah's birthday party,. there was only the family there.
They got the cutest little dog about a month ago., a Miniature Pinscher named Boozer. he is 7 years old, They renamed him Bruiser or Boo Boo, he answers to both.  He kept sniffing at my legs smelling my dogs I assume. Then when I got home my dogs we sniffing me up and down smelling him. Dogs are such Characters, Aren't they?

Welcome Home Al. Glad you had a good trip.

Hello to everyone else to comes in today. I hope all y-all have a wonderful Lord's Day.

We went to Ohio to the ballgame.  Erik pitched the first three innings.  We got there on the fourth inning... :'(  Erik's team was behind 3 to 5.   :'(  Then Erik's team scored 7 points in one inning and won the game 12 to 5.  So they played the final game at 5pm.

Meanwhile we hunted some place to eat.  We went north and was out of town...no restaurants.  Then we saw the Urbana Airport and they had a restaurant.  Neat little place and you could see the activity on the runways and hangars.

Then we called to find out where the ball diamond was...wasn't at the same field as the other game.  We first filled up with gas at $2.68.9...that's a bargain. :idiot:  Then we got to the diamond just fine.  Erik's team got ahead 10 to 0 but they don't call the 10 point rule until after the 5th inning.  Then the other guys started scoring.  We scored some more.  They scored some more.  We scored some more and the game was called when the score became 9 to 19!!   :o

So Erik's team, the Kettering Fairmont Firebirds are champions!

But we still haven't seen Erik pitch yet!   :'(

Church was great and I stayed awake this week.  I went to a different Mexican restaurant.  I love Nacho Supremes so I ordered one.  I maybe ate two thirds of it.  I asked if they had half orders or a smaller order...No.  But it was great.

It is a balmy, 89° right now in Indiana.  Not a day to be outside in the sun.  So guess where I am headed as soon as I get caught up online.  Yep!  ZZZZZZzzzzzz!

I'm thankful that for the first time in several weeks I was able to be in church this morning. Pastor spoke about the importance of the Holy Spirit in our lives. A good sermon.

It's traditional for our little church's ladies to bake homemade pies for the fathers to take home for fathers day. The tables in the back of the church were groaning with pies!

Y'all have a nice day.

Pastor put on his teaching hat this morning and taught on Noah, the flood and dinosaurs. Many of you have heard of Kent Hovind. Well it was kinda like one of his  classes. Lots of interesting material, he threw in something funny every now and then. I am now multi tasking  more at church, I am also running the Power Point on the screen. The gal who usually does it took my place at the door, she multi tasks too, she is my assistant greeter/usher.

There is no prayer meeting or Financial class this evening because of Father's Day., so I came home walked the dogs, washed my car and now I have been reading on the computer doing some research on Whey protein powder. I am always on the lookout for things healthy and learning more about them.

That's all folks

Just wanted to check in and say Hi!

Yes this is Father's Day and all of our family called, then after dinner we met Sue & Bruce for our time of sharing.

Marilyn:  I know the frustration when caregivers seem to do things their way, I to had that experience , the caregiver was excellent in so many areas except meals and even at that she was good the problem she insisted on using salt when the doctor requested none, our way around that was calling her boss (which we did not like doing) and let them know that it was the Doctor's request, most times it worked.

To the rest have a good night.
