Oh, no!  I sure didn't want to read that about Jane and her accident.  Thank God she is okay.  Metal can be replaced but bodies can't.  Just sad that this is one more problem for her to deal with.  I am thinking this was Tom's car and now she will have to tell Tom what happened to it.   

I downloaded a program called Auslogics.  It really cleans up your computer and deletes unwanted things and duplicates.  I really like it.  Last night I couldn't see that it helped much but today, it seems things are much quicker!  www.auslogics.com  It's a free 15-day trial and not costly at all afterwards for a one time payment!

Today is mowing day.  Bright and sunny and hot.  I turned on the A/C today since the house didn't cool down all night.  I have it on auto so it isn't running all the time...just when needed. 

I just got the second load of laundry out of the dryer and it is folded and put away.

Ivalou took SIL to the doctor and she wants to mow when she gets back.  Maybe we will go out to eat somewhere this evening!  It's been a day or two since we have eaten out...

Nita, thanks for letting us know about Jane's accident.  Thank God she wasn't injured, and I will continue praying for the success of that trip; also that the insurance will be sufficient to replace the car with another nice one.

Ruth Ann, sorry about your "fat lip!"  It's so nice you can go help your kids now that you aren't working any more.

Larry, yes, I am getting a little stressed again with the work.  As I told you before, I wasn't looking for a job!  I need to make sure they don't have me on the schedule for June.

I guess we will scrap the idea of garage sales and just have an auction.  Too much stuff for garage sales, and we feel things might fetch better prices at auction.  At least, that is our hope!

Thanks for the tip, Etta Sue.  I am such a computer novice, but will give that a try, my computer has been really balky lately.

Time to reboot the laundry!  And this afternoon I will go over to Beth's trailer and try to sort things for garage sale.  I'm helping Pat with one on the 30th, so will take some things to sell.

The car was towed to a Body Shop approved by my Ins. company last night, and they have been in communication today already so I'm out of that loop now. ''

A motrin and a good bed last night and .... I'm not even sore today!  John called me "super woman" ... I don't think I even need to go to the doctor, but he says maybe in another day or so --- he added that, if I still feel okay, then never mind! 

There's a hole in the transmission, the body is all mangled, and the frame is badly bent ... it's a '99 Corolla and I think it'd cost more to repair and repaint than it's worth.

I'll most likely rent a car to get me back to Oregon and then find someone to help me get another car.  That can all be done "some other day" and I'm not going to worry about it now.  Actually, I'm not going to worry about it at all ... It's all in God's hands and He always takes good care of me.

Janet I stopped the chocolate thing last year as it as getting too expensive for me to keep  giving it away and not getting any  one to sign as an associate. Always a problem with those kind of businesses.

I am so sorry about your accident Jane. I know that everything will work out how God has it planned for  you.

It is windy again today and seems to be a little more so than yesterday, I am not going to go out in the wind to walk the dogs today. When I came back yesterday i sneezed a lot even after taking my allergy med in the morning. I need to go to Walmart and get some of the generic Zyrtec.

Jane good that you are not hurting.  God is so good isn't He!!!

Well I have just finished mowing the lawns.  Seemed to take forever.  I am having a battery problem.  John will be home Saturday or Sunday so he can check it out them.  But it is nice to have the lawns mowed.  The farmer who uses our land plowed it last year with the intent of putting in grain this year.  This morning he was out diskng what he plowed.  Looks like it will take more than one day.  That is one thing John can't handle, the slow pace the people of the north work at.  In the south the entire job would have been done today with the grain planted tomorrow.  This is less of a rat race up here...and the rats are loosing.

I am taking the girls swimming,  they are both anxious to go swimming.  Not sure they will stay in long itis still quite cold.  Will let you know how that goes.

Judy: About the amber alert for  missing Tori Stafford the police said that the the criteria for that was not met I do not know what that meant but the police surely had reasons.

In our little town they are installing sewers and our street in the first in the subdivisions to be done, we have 3 schools that will be connected, the planned route is in front or between the schools then going on north so the new subdivision can be completed, yes the population will be increasing in a big way.

We have been having great weather lovely and sunny. We have our tomato plants in the garden so the next will be the beans and flowers yes my garden is very small but enough.

Thank You, Father, so very much for Your mercy in sparing Jane from injury.  I too pray You'll supply her with excellent transportation home and afterward.  Through Jesus our Lord.

The continuing saga of the cat, Tom.  The girls decide that the remaining residue of oil needed to be washed off.  This is a cat that gets into the shower with Kassie frequently.  Well Elizabeth must have really scared him because he bit Kassie.  Broke the skin and we can see where the teeth met in the muscle at the base of her thumb.  Kass is now calling it a "vampire cat"!  Poor kid it really hurts and I saw the humour in it.  To top it off we were watching "All Creatures Great and Small" and a cat on the show attempted to bite the vet.  Between the two I had a good laugh as did Kass.

I am just checking messages and the forums then off to bed.

Hi everyone.  I am waiting for a friend to come over this morning and we are working on a project.  Nothing else on the schedule for today so will work more on my photos that I am uploading to Google photos. 

It is overcast here today and suppose to rain a bit all weekend.  They are expecting 300,000 people to be at Lake Lanier this weekend as the summer begins.  Our schools finished here last Wednesday so suppose a lot of people will be on vacation.

Jane, glad to see your last posting and that you didn't feel any ill effects.  As you say God will work it out for you the way it is suppose to be.

Ruth, don't envy you with the mess of having the street torn up in front of your house but sure it will be good when it is finished.

It is a cloudy here as well much cooler than yesterday I will be doing a load of laundry and hope that it dries as I will be hanging it outside.

Larry:  Are you moving your photos to google? Is it better to use google for pictures I know that my daughter does like the google mail. When in my pictures/photos and saving to Cd's I go to the search for the specific ones I want and it comes up with two of everything, my question is have I downloaded my pictures twice or is it the computer and the many places articles and pictures can be hidden.

Jane ~ Thanks for keeping us informed.  And now we know God is with you since you aren't sore now. 

Has anyone heard from Papa John?  I had to skip a few days on S&F and I haven't seen him post for a few days.  I sure hope Papa John and Cornelia is okay. 

Well, I mowed.  I showered.  Ivalou and I went to eat a $3.80 cent hamburger and fries at Woody's in Lapel.  I got gas for the mower and topped my car tank off and milk at Dollar General.  When I came in the house, I thought...it seems hot in here...I think it will turn down the A/C.  But it was off.  My A/C unit is in the center of the house on a wall...no duct work in the house.  And the only way to turn it on and off is with a remote that is in a holder under the A/C unit.  It wouldn't turn on the A/C.  So I decided the batteries were dead but only had one AAA battery.  So I went back to Dollar General and got Alkaline AAA batteries...they have to be alkaline for some reason.  Still didn't work.  I called Kaye Don and he came over and he couldn't find any fuses blown...still fuses not breakers.  So I opened all the windows and finally got the house cooled off in the night.  I called the A/C people and some one is to come sometime today.  Hope it is something simple and not stupid...me not doing something that is simple.  It is terrible when our luxuries don't work!

So needless to day, I am not going to work up a sweat today.  It is cloudy and overcast so maybe it won't get as warm as predicted.  Just hope it doesn't rain and I will have to shut windows.

Etta Sue, Papa John's last post on S&F was on the 19th and was just a short "hello" type of post - no news about Cornelia.

Jane, we are all so grateful that the Lord is looking out for you and that your accident wasn't worse than it turned out.

It's been absolutely beautiful yesterday and today - tomorrow may bring some thunder boomers, then back to warm and sunny for a couple more days.

I just got this in my email and thought I'd share with you all.  This verse is one of my favorite verses in the Bible and my daughter-in-law's mother painted it for us many years ago and I have it hanging over my stairs and alll who come in my front door can read it.



II Chron. 7:14

After a day of contemplation and soul searching, I have decided to reach out to my friends and relatives and ask you to do something that  has been troubling me for a long time.

Our nation is/has been on the slippery slope for a long time. If you look around you will find corruption, greed, moral decay, and a steady move away from the things that made us great. The principles upon which this nation was founded are no longer our backbone However, we can reverse this trend.

In God's word he states, If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land."

I am convinced that we must pray for our nation and its leaders and ask for forgiveness. 

Let me just add a quote from Ronald Reagan - "If we ever forget that we're one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under." I truly believe this is why the United States of America is in the shape we are in today. Most people have forgotten that we are one nation under God! Let us as Christians stand up and remind people of this. ~

Pat, I know you've posted that before and it has circulated in emails also, but we can always use a reminder!

The beautiful sunny day has clouded up and the sun has disappeared.  The wind is kicking up, too, and anything left in front of the open windows is flying, as the temperature drops quickly from 88 degrees.   

I am not long back from the hospital with Kassie.  She has a serious infection in her hand where the cat bit her.  She has an antibiotic shot and is on a weeks worth of strong oral antibiotics.  If she is still not moving her thumb bu noon tomorrow we have to take her back in for intravenous antibiotics.  We are praying that the meds we picked up today works and we don't have to take her back.

It is a beautiful day, warm and clear.  I am going to mow again, that way I will have the weekend free.

Ohhh, goodness!

That's not good, Judy.  Glad you got her there quickly and hopefully the antibiotics will start to work. 

Oh, Judy!  Poor Kassie.  It sounded like a puncture type of wound and those are so quick to get infected.  They can do wonders today with antibiotics. 

Jane, so good to have you posting and know you are feeling fine.  Praise the Lord!

I am falling asleep here, must get to bed.  Have to be at work again in the morning at 6:00.  I spent the afternoon going through Beth's stuff, and it is so hard.......not so much the work as the emotions involved.  And there is so much to do.   

See you all another day.  I read all the posts, just too tired to respond to them all tonight.

A quick reply this morning.  The A/C isn't fixed.  Needs a pc board and a transformer.  And it is a holiday weekend.  But this house stays pretty comfortable.  Just hope I don't have to shut windows because of rain.

I am going to the hospital this morning for blood work and an EKG for pre-op.  I got my papers in the mail yesterday.  Surgery June 5 at 3:30pm.  Have to be there by 2pm. 

I worked on the laptop.  The little photos on Sunday Plus are so small, it is hard to see what they are.  So I used WORD and inserted each photo and typed under what they were so you can find them in Sunday Plus.  Then printed them and they are all in a note book now.  Then the ministers wife brought me a CD of photos to put on a flash drive so we can put them on the pc at church and have them run in a loop while their son preaches Sunday morning. 

I have to bake cookies this afternoon for the ordination tomorrow night.

   Don is getting ready to work at the cabin with our son.  There is no heat or electricity yet nor water -- these mountain people just do not show up & are not dependable at all ---phone calls are not even returned. 

I spent a day without learning much on my sewing machine because the instructor came in intending to teach a totally different class & she was miffed.  My laptop wouldn't bring up the program so I spent the 8 hours looking over someone's shoulder.  I can take the class again without paying.   This is nothing of importance.

Ruth Ann:  It looks like you are recuperating well.  I hope the family is well too.

Janet:  Wind - it is always windy here too - I could tell you every time a gust is coming your way 

Judy B:  What a shame that the Amber Alert wasn't called - they may have reasons but meanwhile the clues on the whole situation can be lost with that length of time.  Oh, for the sorrow of family and friends.  May they have some peace with the gifts from faith.

The problem with the bite is that it is a puncture wound and the teeth connected ob the inside of the muscle.  so more than one puncture, and not superficially.  There is more movement.  If ever there was a teen that is accident prone it is Kassie.  She has no fear and at times that can be a problem.  As the doctor has said she has a bravado about her ways.

The sun is shining  hopefully John will be home today.  He starts a week of holidays tomorrow, and he needs this.  Thing is he has a list of about 100 things he wants to do.... well not 100 but you get the idea.  At least he will have a change in activity.  They say a change is as good as a rest.

Hi everyone.  We are expecting shower in our area sometime in each of the next severn days but so far today it hasn't rained.

Pat and I attended a meeting this morning and then we went to a new place for me out in the country and had lunch.  She had been there once before.  The food was good and reasonable.  I came home and read a little while and took a little nap.  Other than attend church tomorrow I plan on having a quiet Memorial day weekend.

Ruth, regarding your photos, if they are showing up twice and they are the same size, it sounds like you do have duplicates.  The other possibility is that you have saved the full sized pictures and also thumbnails if you ahd saved your picures as thumbnails.  I do like the Google Photo feature.  There are a couple of feaures I am not found of but perhaps I justhaven't found the way to to accomplish a liting of the albums I have set up in alphabetical order.  It isn't a big problem.  I had been using Snapfish but if you didn't buy something from them once a year they would dump your pictures.  While the purchase was not a problem if something happens to me the pictures would be lost.

Judy, I have heard of cat fever and that is very serious.  Sure hope the antibiotics work well.

Still busy here, working, working, and working.  Four more days and I am out of there!

I am doing Sunday School in the morning.  Our teacher had asked me to share about the religions of Thailand and Vietnam, and I had planned to a few weeks ago, but Mark wasn't there, and hadn't told his sub anything, so I kept quiet.  So we re-scheduled for tomorrow, for part of the class time; then Mark called and asked me if I can fill the whole 45 minutes, as his wife wanted to go visit some people.  So that's what I will do; shouldn't be hard if they are interested and ask questions.

Now I need to type up some notes, so I don't go blank in the middle of it!

Will be praying for you Janet.  I know what going blank is all about.

It is early but I am going to bed.  I have a bug of some sort and the tummy is upset and joints/skin is aching.  So to bed with the heating pad and hopefully will feel better tomorrow.

I dd manage to give the lawns a second mow, and they are looking good.  John won't be home till afternoon tomorrow.  I hope this bug is gone by then and I can change the sheetsso he doesn't get it,

I got my cookies baked.  They are pretty.  I used a cake mix, 2 eggs and ½C of oil.  I used Rainbow Cake mix and chopped up maraschino (sp) cherries in it.  Also used Lemon Cake mix and added coconut.  They are colorful. 

The rest of the day I watched TV and did get two back scrubbers crocheted for Kaye Don's birthday, next week.  We don't get much for each other and he is soooo hard to buy for.  Usually get a gift certificate but since I like my back scrubbers so much, I decided to make him some.

I am ready for church and then out for lunch.  Maybe a nap this afternoon and then back to church tonight for the ordination.

Hope the Indy 500 runs today.  Predicting thunder storms.  Big race fan I am....I just found out who is on the pole this morning!

Hi everyone.  Since I don't go to coffee on Sunday I don't have to get up as early.  However, I am a morning person so never sleep too late.  Pat is still asleep.  I have made the coffee and eaten my breakfast.

Not much on the agenda for today after going to church this morning.  I sure hope we have more choir members there this morning than we had Wednesday night as then we had only 7 in attendance and the only men were myself and another bass.

We had a little rain during the night.  It is so nice to look out the window and see everything looking so good and green this year.  We seem to have come out of the 3 year drought we had.  

Judy, sorry to read that you are ill and hope it isn't that long lasting flu.

Janet, I am sure your presentation on the religions you saw on your trips will be most interesting.

Etta Sue, those cookies sound interesting and tasty.

Those are great sounding cookies, Etta Sue!  I may try something like that!

Well, this is our anniversary today.  Actually, it was a year yesterday that we were married so we're calling it our "Anniversary Weekend". 

Just about to leave for church so will check in later.  Paul and I are going out for dinner today.  Tomorrow he goes and plays golf with our friends near Guelph here and while he's golfing, I'll visit with his wife.
