We are back home again.  Darrel's surgery went better than anticipated--Praise God!  He did not have a torn rotator cuff after all, but had a partially frozen shoulder and some roughness from arthritis which the surgeon planed off.  He released the shoulder, and Darrel is in a splint now with a completely numb arm clear to his fingertips.  He has to start therapy in the morning, which Dr. Neel said he won't like, but is very necessary to avoid a completely frozen shoulder.  Thank you so much, those who prayed for my sweetheart.

Carol, I'm sorry your relative just wants to rub salt in the wound.  Why do people enjoy hurting others, especially about things they (you) have no control over?  {{{hugs}}}  And thanks for the prayers for those great AF guys---yours included.  We will be glad to have you home, too, 'cause home is the best place to be.  But glad you can travel and visit and enjoy family.

Hi, Ruth Ann!  Glad you're doing good!

Hello, Pat and Judy!  Have fun!

As you might guess, I'm pretty tired this evening.  Looks like an early bedtime may be in the works.  I just hope Darrel can sleep tonight.  They used a nerve block, injected in his neck, (before they took him into surgery and used a general anesthetic) thus the numbness.  I'm wondering how bad the pain may be when it wears off.

Samantha:  Said a prayer & included your name for sure!!!!

JudyB:  Hi and enjoy your time with Pat.  It is nice that you two are so close - I mean close at heart.

Janet:  Hope Darrel sleeps well and the therapy helps right away.  Thanks for your concern - you are so sensitive to others needs & so many times mention what the post is really about.

Jane:  Stay & enjoy every minute - I know you will and so will your daughter.

With all this free time, I have been downloading quilt patterns.  Of course, I can't make all of them but what fun.

Goodnight  - hello to Marilyn as well!!!!!

Ruth

Our long weekend has come and gone.  At this time we have a small town parade that goes down the street past our home then all afternoon they have a fair at the town community center followed with a huge firworks show at dusk.  This is the first year in many that we did not go to watch but the show from our back yard was excellent so I doubt that we will even try to go to the park in the coming years.

Several in the family are away on vacation but we did get a lovely call from our special granddaughter,  she and her friend were out fishing and are so very proud to tell grandpa that they got a fish or two.

I was out today with my aunt buying flowers she made sure that she choose what was best for her garden,  then helped me do some deciding as well.   Then we stopped at Wendy's for lunch before heading home - she to plant flowers and me to head down the road for work.

Hi from the island.....still chilly and quite damp!  Wonder what days Carol was here....do remember one or two nice days!  Lots of flowers and the garden is great.  I think all the noise from the construction in back of us is going to make the season anything but restful, Misty is constantly afraid.  They are cutting down huge areas of forest and building many hundreds of houses.  A very long time until peace comes again!

Had to give Misty and Squeek Worm medicine and that was sure fun.  Trying to get a cat to swallow pills is a real challenge.  Now Squeek won't come near us for a long time....she really holds onto a grudge. >:(

Carol, I had someone who always tried to make me feel bad about taking a bus to church.  She asked every Sunday, how did I get there.....finally told her that after having asked so many times, surely she must know the answer!  It was her way of always trying to make me feel inferior!  That one comment had the desired result.... ;)

Not much to say, so here is a small smile:

Why, Why, Why?

Why do we press harder on a remote control when we know the batteries are getting weak?
Why do banks charge a fee on "insufficient funds" when they already know you don't have enough money?
Why does someone believe you when you say there are four billion stars, but check with their finger when you say the paint is wet?
Why doesn't glue stick to the bottle?
Whose idea was it to put an "S" in the word "lisp"?
If people evolved from apes, did some apes choose not to evolve?
Why is it that no matter what color bubble bath you use the bubbles are always white?
Why do people constantly return to the refrigerator with hopes that something new to eat will have materialized?
Why do people keep running over a string a dozen times with their vacuum cleaner, then reach down, pick it up, examine it, then put it down to give the vacuum one more chance?
Why is it that no plastic bag will open from the top end on your first try?
How do those dead bugs get into those enclosed light fixtures?
When we are in the supermarket and someone rams our ankle with a shopping cart then apologizes for doing so, why do we say, "It's all right?" Well, it isn't all right, so why don't we say, "That hurt, you stupid idiot?"
Why is it that whenever you attempt to catch something that's falling off the table you always manage to knock something else over?
In Winter why do we try to keep the house as warm as it was in the Summer, when we complained about it being to hot?
How come you never hear father-in-law jokes?
And my FAVORITE......
Statistics on sanity show that one out of every four persons is suffering from some sort of mental illness. Think of your three best friends -- if they're okay, then... it's you.

               ::) ::) ::)

Time to go.  Pleasant Evening/Day and God Bless.

Hi, short post again. Y'all have a wonderful day in the Lord. I've read all messages.

Love, me
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Pat and I are going out this morning to Flamborough,  Will be a nice trip.

Janet a good friend has a frozen sholder and I know the pain that can be.

Ruth Ann Know you are prayed for, and don't go past what the Doctor has said with that hand.

The weather in Guelph is HOT.  We are enjoying it, as it is a bit cooler in the north.  The flip side of that is we have longer days.  It is still light at 10:00 in the evening.

Well I am off, Pray for Kassie and I as we head out today.

God Bless

Janet

Just popping in to say good morning.  Have to take Darrel to therapy, also go check on a camera problem at a customer's.  I hope it is something I can fix, as he can't help me.

I have read all your posts but really don't have time to comment on them.  Just know that prayers are being prayed for appropriate posts and praise for others.

It is suppose to be simple to change email addresses and I was already using Outlook Express.  Not so!  Don't let anyone tell you different!  When I installed Embarq Security, it uninstalled Earthlink.  Now when I click to load a new anything...My Documents, a clickable in email...anything...windows keep popping up from Earthlink Accelerator.  I have to hit cancel about 6 times and finally what I want to load does.  Grrrrrr!

I was up until 2am this morning working on this pc.  I realized that all my animations and such for CP are on my space at Earthlink.  I am in the process of changing them to PhotoBucket.  That takes a lot of time.  So if my animations disappear, then Earthlink pulled the plug on me.   ???

Off to other exciting things!

50% chance of rain here.  At home that means probably no rain but here ????  The cherry orchards need this rain here too.  Glacier Park is having snow up to 10 inches so we won't go for a ride there.  Waiting on two phone calls.

Liz:  That is right!  Victoria is on Your Island.  We did get there on the ferry late in the afternoon and did I write about the angels helping me?  Somehow, I didn't have the tickets for the return trip and the confirmation to our hotel - StrathconeI believe.  With heavy heart & beating myself up psychologicaly - I went to the ticket booth.  A grinning gal said "What is your name".  I told her Shovein is the last name (pronounced Show-ven....  )  She said that we had not picked up the tickets at the counter when Don paid.  We must have though as we had to give our tickets to the agent on the first leg of the ferry ride.  I must have put them down & an angel on my shoulder made another passenger turn in the packet.  There is alway grace around the corner.   :angel2:  Met many fine and pleasant people in Vancouver.  You can be proud of their manners.  Also, we ate fish at a pub outdoors, unfortunately when young men were cheering their hockey team & came outside to smoke and swear.  I said "Did your mother ever soap your mouths? " and they came over to apologize and we actually had a nice conversation with the youngsters.  Yes, one had remembered having soapy mouth.

Etta Sue:  Are you able to talk now or is the next round of quiet time yet to come?  Good for you for patience in dealing with computer drats.

It is hot in our part of Ontario but I had purchased some soil for my planters now I am  looking forward to getting them done this evening when the sun moves behind the trees.

Along with other errands I had a dental visit, all I needed was a cleaning and no cavaties my next visit will be in 6 months.

The time is getting near for me to leave for work.

After all my complaints about the weather, thought it might be nice to report that today it's lovely and even feels like Spring.  No wind and not a shower in sight!

Went and had my glasses adjusted and was so pleased with this small company.  They are so kind and don't even charge to change the nose pads.  Always had to pay $12.00 at the big, important Iris and then got only the barest of service.  Wonderful that nice places still exist and God directed me to their door.

Glad that you had a pleasant experience in our beautiful BC, Carol.  Yes, there are still honest folks around and it surely warms the soul when they appear.

The kids are having new indoor shutters done today, to replace the venetian blinds that are now 13 yrs. old.  My, the new shutters look great.  I had not seen them before and much nicer than the old style blinds.  I have blinds in my suite, but they are new and quite nice, put them in when I came here.  They will have to do me as  can't afford to replace them.....

Going to make some Strawberry Jam this afternoon.  Bought a box of great berries that came from California.  Ours are not ready to pick yet.  So away to get busy.... :)

God Bless,

CHANGE NOT THY FAITH WITH CHANGING TIMES

JudyB

Well we are home.  We went down to Dundas to get some seed that will I hope work better in the garden.  On the way home Pat (was driving) stopped at a spot on lake Ontario where we could see and take pictures of Trumpeter Swans.  When she posts the pictures you will see tags on the birds.  These tags help to identify specific birds in the species, as they are endangered and protected.  They are a beautiful bird.

We we out to the car leaving Pat's and on her front lawn was a young bird,  Ithink it is a starling.  There was no cherpping or adult birds skwacking so we picked it up and started nursing it, and Kassie is feeding it cat meat!... I am not sure how this experiment will proceed, but we'll see.

As we headed home the drive was uneventful untill we got to county road 88 and 400.  Just about 5 minutes ahead of us was a Major accident.  A truck went into the grassed area by the  ramp, rolled and it looked like there was a car involved.  We watched a helecopter circle the area, until it could land.  We went over the bridge and crossed traffic and carried on home.  About 5 minutes according to the redio there was an accident at the point where I crossed the bridge.  God is GOOD All the Time!!!  The rest of the trip was uneventful.

We arrived home about 7:30 and we have an addition in the family.  Some of you will remember Jake our Rottie.  After Jake was put to rest, we had neighbours move in just down the road.  Guess what they had a Rottie just like JAke.  Dexter is a beautiful dog who moved to the city with Dave and Sarah, our parting words were "If you ever decide to get rid of Dexter Keep me in mind."  Well I came home to Dexter!  we have another Jakey back!!  He is such a gentle dog and Mother loves him.   She calls him "her dog".  Well that is fine with us.

That is about it the highlights of our time away.

Kass wants to go swimming, so I am off and running again.

God Bless

Hi everyone.  It is very late and my eyelids are drooping so I will just say all is well here.  I enjoyed the postings and was especially glad to read that Darrel didn't have a rotator cuff and that Jane was safely in California.  I will try to get to CP earlier tomorrow although have several things on the schedule and have to go down town tomorrow evening as our daughter is coming out to spend the weekend.

Janet

Good morning!

Liz, I'm happy you are having some nice weather for a change.  It is so sad that they are destroying the trees and natural beauty of your island, to build more and more houses.  Soon we will have to search to find any unspoiled areas in our country or yours.  I always enjoy your humor.

JudyB, happy you had a good time with Pat.  She does have an eye for beauty, and seems to have an instinct for where to find good photo subjects.  As for nursing a starling........ :P  Those birds are a real pest, and are multiplying by the billions around the world.  On the other hand, I know we all have a tender heart for one lost and endangered little life, whatever it is.  Glad you avoided the accidents.  Too many people lose their lives in traffic accidents.

Thanks, Larry.  Strange thing, Darrel worked more yesterday than he normally does!  So I know he was feeling good.  The therapy was painful, but that's to be expected.  He will go again today, tomorrow and even Monday, because Anthony (therapist) says he can't afford to miss, even on the holiday.  He says the little fibers are like a spider's web, and will readily attach and "freeze" that shoulder very quickly if he doesn't keep it moving.  Larry, I hope you got a really good night's rest and feel great today.

I'm trying to get ready for my week long painting class, followed by our annual Family Reunion.  Lots to do.  Plus, I will be taking Beth to Liberal for an MRI sometime soon.  She's having too much back, neck and shoulder pain.

Larry, I just smile so big  :) every time I read your posts about your daughter's turn-around!  God is SO GOOD!!  Bless you.

Jane, good to have you checking in from Joy's place.  Give her a hug for me and tell her I sure know what it's like to have renters tear things up.  We are dealing with that---again---in the midst of everything else.  This time with Darrel's mobile home in town.  I think we will clean it up, list it and try to sell it.  We are tired of the constant headaches.

Hi, Ruth Ann!  Hi, Marilyn, Ruth, Sue, Jeannine, Colin, Carol, and all who poke your heads in today!  You are ALL special!

See you later!

Coffee is brewing  :coffee: I see Colin is on - hello to you this beautiful Friday.  I can see your Shout....

Yesterday, we had such hard rains here that often we couldn't see a few feet from the house.  This morning, I can see the horses on the hill in back.  My favorite is the Pinto with brown ad white coloring of big patches.  It looks just like the ones Indians have had for years.  Did I mention that this area actually is a large reservation?  Flathead Indians.  Here, it is not a poor tribe and they sell the land instead of leasing.  In the state of Washington, the Tulalip tribe is not renewing people's leases on their land and the tribe will just take any of the fine houses and cabins that can't be moved.  My parents owned a cabin on that land for years and I am so glad that they didn't have it take away.

Liz:  We did see an abundance of building near and in Victoria.  Really, the same is going on so many places and the houses are larger and larger.  But ---we have seen some tiny towns just virtually shutting down along the way as well.

Janet:  Sorry to read about Beth having neck and back pain.  But - Darrel is feeling better already.  Prayer & Praise there.

JudyB:  Glad that you made the trip alright.  It seems like driving around today is trying to dodge the poor drivers.  In our state now, they are going to finally crack down on tailgaters or road rage as it can be called.  The patrol now has an instrument that records the distance between cars & speed & calculates what it should really be in order to be able to stop.  Amazing technology & no guessing.  We usually try to pull off & let the speeders get by anymore but that can be tricky at times too.  Are you sewing anything?  I am only thinking about the next quilt.

Pat:  Hello - it looks like you are busy as usual.

Carol

Jane Walker

Well, I'm the only one up in this house but, it just happens, the computer is in this room as well so..... here I am!

We have made contact with two grandsons: Tim and David.  I had a wonderful talk with Tim last night as he was on his way to work.  He is working mandatory overtime from 10 last night until this afternoon, then he has only a couple hours before he has to work at three high school graduations this weekend!  I asked him when he would get some rest and he answered "This weekend, unfortunately, I will not."   :-\

Dave and his family (five kids) will be here for dinner this evening so that will be good.  The older kids will have fun playing in the yard and exploring the creek.

I have decided I will leave for Oregon tomorrow (Saturday) because it doesn't look like I'll be making any contact with either of the girls this time either.  Joy says we will try to call Candice -- Dot's daughter who lives in southern California -- and see if we can arrange a get together with her and Dot sometime later this summer.

It is a day to day operation with Joy and John and this place.  They say they will never rent it out again and now they are thinking they might just stay here themselves.  They have moved into the house and are fixing it up really cute.  They will be staying at least until August, and may just go back to Mexico to get their vehicles and move back here.  It's all in the Lord's hands and they feel they have a mission field right here in their neighborhood.    :-\

Joy and I went shopping (at thrift stores) yesterday and she found a beautiful wing-back chair for $12 and other items that are beginnin to make this house a home.  The original idea was to "stage" the house for viewing by prospective buyers.  The "Gardener's Cottage" will become Joy's massage parlor for the summer and maybe permanently.  She is planning to work through June at her friend's spa, but will also advertise for clients to come to her own "Cottage Massage" ...
She bought some "scrubs" tops and slacks and sheets to cover the massage table, etc.   She's (almost) in business again!

Well, I should get busy and start moving around today.  Joy and I have promised to tear the carpeting out of their friend's house today.  These friends live just down the street so that won't be much effort.

See y'all later.  Probably won't post here again until I make it back to Oregon.

Have a pleasant and restful weekend.

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

:coffee:  Hi to all.  I have just had the greatest birthday celebration that one would want to have.  My actual date was the 5th. of May but it did not work out for the party  I turned 60 and we had very close to 80 people come including PAT AND RUTHIE so ti was so much fun to see all my old friends and some newer ones.  Life is very busy as the next thing is to get ready to go to Scotland on June 10th, till July 15th.  We are going for my Mum's 90th. birthday and we are looking so forward to seeing her and spending time with her.  But I do ask that you will pray for her as I do not think that she has given her heart to the Lord.  Also we ask for your prayers that we will have saftey going and while there and that my wife will be able to enjoy her time there as she still has lots of pain with her back.

AL:  Thanks for your devotion hope that you are well.

PAT- RUTHIE:  Hi to you both it was so nice that you both came to my party.  I figured out why I told you the wrong way to turn as when coming the other way it would be a right turn so thats my excuse.  Look after yourselves and try to not do to much. God bless sis. It took till Tuesday to get back to normal.

JANET: I hope that you are not to tired look after yourself also.

MARILYN:  My wife and I go to the Y.M.C.A. to the aquatic program and I also work out.  But it seems that there are to many other things that get in the way and you do not get there as much as we should. Take care.

JUDY B.:  We missed you at the party and as I am sure pat has told you that we had a great time.  It suonds that you are busy so look after the girls and yourself say hi to John. by sis.

RUTH ANN:  Hope that you are getting stronger and the Lord will give  renewed strength each day, He has told us in his word to TRUST AND OBEY  AND THERE'S NO OTHER WAY TO BE HAPPY IN JESUS BUT TO TRUST AND OBEY.  I have found this to be so true so just give him all the glory. God Bless.

CAROL:  Sounds very interesting about the Indians. You both keep well.

JANET:  It sonds like you are very busy.  Look after yourself and be careful when you are on the highway.

For those that I missed  may the Lord bless your weekend and give you a rich time with fellow followers of CHRIST. <3

I am happy as a lark.  I called my DSL support center and they walked me through on how to fix my pc.  Everything is okey-dokey now!!

With as much rain as Central Indiana had just a few weeks ago, we are in need of rain now.  I just mowed my lawn and I do believe I should have waited because now my grass is brown.  But I knew I wouldn't have an opportunity to mow until Monday and we are having a weiner roast back in the woods.  Tomorrow is a high school graduation Open house and Walter and Nancy's 50th Anniversary celebration.  Can't miss that.  And Sunday is church and a day of rest!

Carol ~ No, I am talking right now until June 12th when I have surgery again and then no talking for another week.  In fact, I have had several say they don't remember my voice sounding like it does right now.  I even sound strong to myself  :o

My eyes are razzle-dazzling.  Flickering!  They have done this off and on since I was pregnant with Tony 46 years ago.  My eye specialist says it is migraine headaches without the headache.  I will take that.  But this time I started one and before it ended in about 15-20 minutes another one started.  Don't remember ever doing that before.

Every one have a great day, ya hear?

Etta, those cats are hilarious.

Hi all!  I'm sitting here waiting for the phone to ring. :)  The local christian radio station has a "Summer of Caring" every year.  For mother's day, people submitted things they would like to get their mothers/fathers, but just didn't have the resources or know how to do it.  One of them was a portrait session for their parents' 50th wedding anniversary.  So, I emailed the station and volunteered.  I'm waiting for them to call with the finer details.  They try to arrange the "giver" and the "getter" to be on the line at the same time so they can record it for air play.  The down side is that I sound like such a hick.  (no comments Etta, or Pat. :) ).

anyway, Ithink it will be fun.

Karma, if you do, you're OUR little "hick" and we love you, so it's okay.  Very nice of you to do that for the folks.

Etta Sue, those dancing felines are something else!  I would take the "razzle-dazzle" eyes without the headache, much rather than the headache, for sure.  Glad you got your computer problems solved.

Gord, glad you had such a nice birthday celebration.  That is a lot of guests---you must be popular!  ;)

I just got home from the little birthday party at the care home.  Mom's birthday is the 29th, so she was one of the honored guests today.

Lots to do, little time to do it, and I am going to pick up Abby later.  So I'd best get with it again.

Hi everyone.

It has been another beautiful, if dry day here in Georgia.

We went to an event this morning and there was a luncheon following.  This was at our church and there is a courtyard surrounded on all four sides by our church building.  It has been fixed up very nicely and we were able to dine in the courtyard as there is a big tent at one side to provide shade.
It did get warm out there before we were through.

I haven't accomplished much else today as was tired when I got home so took a 90 minute nap.  Have to leave to Atlanta at 6:30 to pick up our daughter.  She just called and sounds very stressed.  I think she just needs to get away from all the women that live in her apartment for awhile added to the fact that she is not feeling very well with her heart racing again.

Karmat, that is a very nice gesture on your part to contribute your photo expertise for the 50th wedding anniversary.  I am sure that will be greatly appreciated.

Etta Sue, glad you got the DSL problems worked out.  My friend Rod suffers from silent migraines.  Unfortunately I suffered from loud, screeming, very painful migraines for many years.  However, no longer have them and haven't for probably 15 years.

Gord, that sounds like quite a trip you all have planned.  Know you will be happy to see your mother.

Hi Marilyn and Carol.  Always good to see your postings.

Jane, have a safe trip home.  Glad you are getting to see some of your family while you are in California.

Janet, glad that Darrel is doing so well.  It sounds like the timing of his physical therapy is very critical.  I am surprised that the therapist is willing to work on the holiday.

Here I am again, I have some time to spare this afternoon so here i am.  I don't have anything special planned for the holiday weekend. It is my days off at Ruth's but go back on Monday. :boots:

However I am looking after  Ruth's neighbors cat until Tuesday. I will go in once per day over Sat and Sun to feed the cat and pet her a bit, make sure her box is clean. Monday I will water the plants outside in front of her place and take care of the cat. Tues I will just take care of the cat. Last time she paid me $50.

Etta Sue I love the little dancing cats.  :D

Gord =glad to hear you had a great birthday celebration.  :hbirthday: belated

Judy congratulations on the new Rottie, I know how much one can love them. I would love to have another.

Janet sorry to hear that Beth is in so much pain.  But glad to hear that Darrell's doing better.

Carol I am "thinking" about another quilt too. But that's about it so far. What are you doing in Montana? Are you visiting family or friends? i hope I am not being too nosy.  <3

To those that have rental properties I feel sorry for you we were renters for perhaps thirty years and we treated the house as if it was our own.  We installed storm windows and doors of which the landlord insisted we give him the receipt and soon a cheque was in the mail.  We painted the outside of the house as well the landlord did not notice that one but remember it was our rented home.  When the time came for us to break the lease - no problem you have been good tenents.   We had also been given instrustions to please give the keys to the new tenents  as they moved in within a couple of days of us leaving.  I kept the school bus parked next to the house and the landlord never complained, perhaps he felt that with it there he would get his rent.   I will say that they were wonderful years living and raising a family in the country.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Proverbs 3:6

Hi folks...

For me it's been a very busy week.  I've had lots of things to do.  Judy met the lady that I give a needle to each Thursday.  Then we went to get seeds and some plants for the deck.

I've just enjoyed reading all your posts.

Talk to you soon.

We are just now back home.  I had framed two beautiful photos of horses for a lady in the next town, we took those over, and picked up Abby.  Had a nice visit with Diane and also Mark.  Mark showed us the pictures he took at Curtis' graduation.  He did a super job.  There are a couple that I want enlargements of to frame.  Mark is working again this summer for a spray plane service in Moscow.  They like him so much they want him to take over the business, but he says that isn't why he became a pilot.  He wants to be a professional pilot.  (I know, TMI...sorry.  :-[)

I got a lot accomplished today, but still feel I'm a mile behind!  Oh, well, tomorrow is another day (as Charlotte said in Gone With the Wind.)

Ruth, I wish we had renters like you!

My son in England wanted to be a pilot, but eyesight interfered. We all see well -- when wearing glasses or contact lenses!

Y'all have a great day in our Lord. I keep up and am SO inteested in everyone.

Can't type tonight - used my "hand time" up at work.  :o

Hi everyone.

Have a couple of minutes before heading to coffee and probably a busy day as the weekends when our daughter is here usually seem pretty full.  However, I think she just needs to rest as isn't feeling well with her heart racing.  I also think the stress of living with 4 and sometimes 5 other women in a three bedroom apartment was getting on her nerves.

Not much new since I posted yesterday so will just say I am happy to see everyone posting.  Have a nice weekend.  This is Memorial Day weekend here in the USA.
