JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

It is a beautiful morning.  The sun is out and the birds are chirping.

John came home late last night, after 10:00.  He was tired and out of hours on the log book, he left this morning to deliver the load he brought up.  I expect him home soon.

Gord I would have loved to come down for your celebration.  Unfortunately it was simply not possible, especially knowing that I had the eye appointment on wednesday.  We will be back down around the 1st, you will be gone.  Enjoy your trip and give my love to your mom.

We have a huge population of black flies this year.  I have a welt on my neck and poor mother is covered in welts.  Elizabeth is paranoid about bugs and this year seems to be worse than others.  I have had a brain wave.  I am going to the material store and i am getting some material for sheers which we will put on the windows outside.  This will keep the bugs out and allow the air in. (I hope)  The pesky little things seem to be smaller than the screening, as soon as I open a window Elizabeth is closing it.

As far as sewing is concerned, no, I have yet to get my machine fixed, and there is too much outside work to ge t done.  I have many projects stewing in my head, but all to little avail if I cant use the machine.  I am thinking of getting John to take a look at it, the problem is probably a simple one.

Dexter is a wonderful dog.  Funny too.  He barks with the other dogs and if we start to sing he will howl with us.  Dave and Sue had a bark collar on him just before he moved to town.  I understand the need for them, but this guy takes such joy in his talking that I felt at the time that the collar was almost cruel.  He takes great joy in barking again.

I must go.  Just Kassie is up with me, and I have a job I want to get done early.  Also we have a local neighbour coming up and taking his bush hog over the lawns to get rid of some of the grass height.  We have had the call about the lawn tractor, about $1100.  Oh well we need to grass cut and I will have my time behind the wheel again.  The reason I love this so muvh is it is private time that I can use to talk to my Lord without much interruption.

Must go I hear Mother up
Love to you all  and your prayer needs are being held up here in the north.

Marilyn

Good Morning I see Larry and JudyB have been here before me. It is 5:45 here on the west coast and the  sky has been getting lighter since about 4:30 when the dogs wanted me to get up.  Oh how I wanted to stay in bed longer this morning.

Ruth's son didn't bring my paycheck yesterday, I hope he doesn't make it a habit for me to go on Saturday to pick up my check, this happened last week too.  So I have to go back over there today to pick it up, good thing I already am going to be over that way to take care of the neighbor's cat. I am also going to to Farmer's Market to get some veggies.

Later this afternoon I am going to mow whether or not the sun comes out. I also need to make some follow up calls to the people I met at the Health Fair last Saturday.

Well that's it for now, I am going over to SN to check on a few forums there before I get dressed and start my day.

DEWDROPS OF REFRESHMENT

I walked in glow of early dawn
Tread sparkling dewdrops on the lawn
Listened to the sweet blackbird song
As eager feet carried me along

Around the pleasant flowering bed
Where thoughts of wonder filled my head
When I saw such beauty in a flower
In the morning sun of soft hushed hour

Above the drone of industrious bee
A gentle voice seemed to speak to me
Consider that flower and be content
That my love for you is Heaven sent

The flower drinks of dewdrops in early light
I kiss its face with sunshine bright
The beauty of its petal garment that you see
Is woven by my hand and clothed by me

And for you my child much more I care
Than delicate flower that's blooming there
For I watch and see and from far above
Clothe you in the garments of my pure love

My blessings sweet I bestow to you
And refresh you with them like the morning dew
Then the voice was silent in the early morn
As I stood in the wakening of new day born

And considered all the voice had said
Its planted thoughts grew in my head
Then knew in that moment of sun rising hour
God had kissed me with dewdrops of refreshment like the lovely flower

Good morning!  We had a sprinkle yesterday afternoon.  Not much but enough to turn some brown to green.  Funny, Kitty lives four miles from me and she said it didn't rain at her house... ???

I guess I am so fortunate in my health problems.  Two cancers that are controllable!  Migraine headaches without headaches..no pain..just a quivery feeling while the razzle-dazzles are going on.  Back pain but only when I stand for awhile.  Veins that are small but with hydration, the nurses can draw blood easily.  Cholesterol that is controlled by medications.  Glucose that is controlled by medications.  Now if getting on Medicare and choosing the right plans were just that easy.  Right now I can see that Medicare isn't a benefit for me but hope I am not seeing the full picture yet!  I have until September to decide.

Today Ivalou and I are going to Greenfield for two events.  One is a Sundae treat at my church for a high school graduation.  The other is an outside event at Walter and Nancy's to help them celebrate their 50th Anniversary.  Sad to think that he may not even know why people are coming to his house.  And then again, he may know.  I know I have asked him in the past what his wifes name is and he couldn't tell me.  He doesn't answer questions that need thinking.  If I said is Nancy your wife? he would say YES!  He answers yes and no questions.  And Nancy thinks he is making a decision when her suggestion is his decision.  But she is fortunate to still have Walter.  I know...TMI!

Cloudy today.  Just hope that all the open houses for graduates will not be rained on.  And tomorrow is the Indianapolis 500 Race...I don't even know who has pole position.  The race just isn't as exciting as it used to be to me.

I have cleaned my kitchen, turned my mattress, and have the couch cover in the dryer.  Ruth has already called me twice, the first time at 7:20, she couldn't find her purse, I called her back and told her where it was. She just called back to tell me she found it where I said it was. I just called her and asked her to please not call me on my days off. Ok TMI.  Sorry to unload my frustrations on all y-all.

Al called a few minutes ago to remind me that the Kinetic Sculpture race is today and wanted to make sure I knew that the Farmers market wouldn't be at the plaza.

Well I gotta get busy again.

I think everybody is buzzing around doing their Saturday chores.  I got up, practiced piano for an hour, then was looking through magazines in the hope of finding something to inspire me to paint.  My friend Pat called and asked if I wanted to go to some garage sales with her, so Abby and I went.  We found a few cute things; most of which cost 25c.  Big spenders, ha!

It is almost time to take Darrel to therapy again, so see you later!

Well this is a busy day!  Clinton came with the bush hog and the lawns look like he has been haying!  Well I will burn it when it all drys.  I have sprayed the garden and have my deck containers read to plant.  John met with one of our kids and has been delayed.  That is a good delay I think.  I have John picking up the sheer material and we will staple it into place today and voila we will have cross breezes, the house will cool off.

I have to get off line, waiting for John to call.  Boy don't you just love dial up?

Bye for now
JudyB

Pat

No, Judy, I don't love dial-up.  I don't think I could ever go back to that.

Colin, may we put that poem on to the CP Blog?  http://christian-photographers.blogspot.com   Have a look everyone.  We're hoping that folks will find this blog when they do a search for "Christian" and "photographers" in the blogs and then find our beloved site here.

So, yes, please post.  I answered you, Al Moak, in the blog when you asked the purpose of it.

Marilyn, see what I posted in the blog today.  Thought of you!  :)

Marilyn:  Blog is such a funny name for such interesting places.  Love your two dog pictures.  There is a store in this town called Three Dog Down & they sell down covers for the beds....you probably know the story about a one dog night (kinda warm) two dog night, kinda cool and a three dog night is cold.  Supposedly an old Eskimo tale.  Oh, we are so fortunate that our oldest son has built a house near Flathead Lake in MT.  It is north of Missoula - they talk a lot about retiring up here some day or if they can't hang on to it, selling as it is already worth more than when they built last year.  We really love the area but would never consider moving from the family this far, about 900 some miles from all the kids.  Meanwhile, we can come anytime & this has been a month - closer to see my brother in Seattle too & nieces at the ocean.

Colin:  Another very nice poem.  Good to see you!

JudyB:  We are spoiled, aren't we?  Once you get off dial-up, you can never go back.  But then you live in a wonderful country area that people love to see when they drive by....... so you have the more peaceful life. As for your machine, I get the book out & clean out everything thoroughly - take out entire bobbin area, clean with a Q-tip with just a dab of sewing oil.  Check or change needle & unscrew everthing & clean all the fuzz off inside.  Even my newer machine acts up - and if you have already done all this - trade it in someday.

Etta Sue:  Have never heard of painless migraines.  Yes, it is great that everything happening to you can be handled well.

Talked with two sons tonight.  Our daughter has her in-laws staying for the weekend and it is tense because they have no connection witht the grands....how much they miss.

We have to go home this week because our prescriptions are running out....

Hi, friends,

It's really been an amazing day. Wish I could tell y'all all about it.

We've prayed for years for a beloved church member's hubby - alcoholic, but good man - not religious. Got cirrosis of the liver  (you spell it!) about 8 mos ago.

Put in hospital about 1 1/2 wks ago. I was there last Sunday with mutual friends. Pastor has visited him every day for months. He died 5 a.m. Monday, was cremated Tuesday.

Memorial service today. Church (small) was packed with friends and family - a real melting pot, wealthy, poor, sighted, blind, all races, ages 4 mos to 95 yrs.

A most unusual order of service, very unusual (personal to the family) songs, his blind best friend (layperson) delivered a POWERFUL eulogy packed with scripture, and in his sermon, Pastor shared that once again last Sunday, he asked how it was with his soul. "Pastor, I need your help." They prayed. He trusted his Saviour, and said, "Now I'm at peace."

He died next morning at 5 a.m. May he rest in peace.
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Pat

Oh, how wonderful, Ruth Ann.  What a wonderful "home coming" that was for your friend's husband.

Thanks so much for sharing that.

I do not have a blog.  I am afraid that will slow down the computer even more than it already is!!!

This has been a wonderful work day.  I have planted all kinds and sizes of containers for my deck.  This is the first time  I have ever tried this.  It will be interesting to see how it all progresses!  Pat I need your camera to take some pictures..... I will get film for the one I have used for the past number of years.   ;D
I have a slope off the driveway that has been a problem to mow, not that it is that steep, just a problem.  I was wanting to put in railway ties or 4X4's or something to get rid of the problem.  Well John has come up with the idea of putting down plastic and then putting stomes on top of the plastic and that is problem solved.  We have the plastic down, have to pick up the stones from the rock pile, and it will be done to the degree that he thought.  I am going one step further.  I am putting soil inbetween and on above some of the rocks and I will plant some flowers in the area to pretty it up a bit.  That should be done by Wednesday.  Also on Wednesday a guy is coming to till our garden.  I will plant it on Thursday and that will be done.  All in all I am getting some things done that has needed doing for a while.  :cheer:

Ruth Ann that is a wonderful testimony.  I will look forward to meeting this fellow in heaven some day.

Well It is late, John is sleeping and I had better get going and join him.

Good night everyone  Have a blessed day tomorrow.

Jeannine

Morning all,

Have not been around much, been busy, I do pray for y'all, God knows all the needs and requests, I don't remember names very well...lol, lucky I remember my own sometimes.

Gord ~ Michael still loves his music, and is doing awesome in his schooling.

Hubby is really wiped out from the radiation. Not doing what he should, ie: food, tube-feed, enough water -> now is dehydrated too. Not doing physical therapy. He looks terrible, nothing and no one is getting through to him. Oh, well, it is in my Loving Father's hands, not mine.

Y'all have a God filled and Blessed day.

Still trusting,
<><Jeannine

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.
Pat and I will leave for church in about 10 minutes.  Our daughter isn't feeling well this morning so will not be attending with us.  I think this is the first time since she started going to church that she has not felt like going but says she is aching all over and thinks it is a reaction to the medicine she is taking to control her heart rate.

This afternoon I will take her back to her apartment as she has to be back for a meeting Sunday evening.  She has slept a lot since she has been here but she was pretty exhausted when I picked her us and she needed to relax and get some extra rest.

The smoke from the forest fires in south Georgia are in the area again.  They are worse downtown and to the west than they are out here.  It is suppose to clear out later today.  I can't imagine what it must be like to live in the area where the smoke and smell exists all the time.

Jeannine, sorry to read that your husband isn't trying to help himself. However, it is his responsibility and not yours, as you so wisely indicated.  That doesn't make it easy for those around who love him.

JudyB, just reading your postings makes me tired from all the gardening and rock garden work you are doing.  I am glad you are able to do it and having grown up on a farm I understand that there are always deadlines and jobs that need to be done.  Doing gardening for me would be a burden as I have never like to do it.  I was very glad to be able to leave the farm and never considered being a farmer.

Ruth Ann, I am sure that was a point of celebration and he was fortunate that he didn't wait any longer.

Welcome Tracy to CP.  Hope you will join us here so we can get to know you better.

Carol, it is wonderful that your son so willingly share his place in Montana.  That is a long trip however, certainly not somewhere you would likely go for the weekend.

Colin, good to see you posting again.  We missed you when you were not posting.

Janet, good for you in doing your piano practicing.  Glad you are able to have Abby there for the weekend.

Marilyn, you are wise to set the bounderies with Ruth as you need your time off.  Hope you are enjoying the weekend.

Etta Sue, hope you and Ivalou have fun at the two events you are attending.

Well, I have run out of time as we need to be leaving.

Marilyn

Larry even though I asked Ruth not to call she called me 3 more times in the as she was trying to prepare her supper.  She just didn't understand that she had to take the food out of the containers and put it on a plate before warming it in the microwave, then she couldn't make the microwave work. I have to talk with her son to have the weekend caregiver come to prepare her supper for her.

I get so frustrating trying to explain to her son that her needs are more than what he thinks she can afford. She can afford it but he is being so careful with the money that he has even had her full cable  cut down to the very basic 13 channels, taken her off her  product that I had her on. She was doing so well on  the AgelessXtra, but he felt that it cost too much. So he called the company and told them not to send anymore to her. TMI enough it my day off.

Yesterday's two events were great.  I don't know when or why it started that Seniors who graduate, the parents have an Open House for them and sometimes enough food for a buffet.  Yesterday's was Sundaes with all the toppings and even a chocolate fountain with food to get chocolate-ized!  The Mother did a superb job in decorating.  Ross, the Senior, was born in Phoenix and his father passed away when Ross was 2 years old.  Since Cindy, the Mother, is from Greenfield she moved back to Greenfield.  It is great to see Mother and Son together.  You can tell that Ross idolizes his Mother and loves her very much.

The 50th Anniversary was great...so many people for a couple who have only lived in the area 5 years.  Walter knew something was going on but I am not sure if he knew what.  I met so many people that I only knew by their names...Walter's brother, Nancy's brother, nephews, sons, grandsons, etc.  There was a man there that was 99 years old and he drove there!  (I don't think he should have driven once I saw how he parallel parked!)

Both events were great and I am glad that I shared them with Ivalou.

My church has been having sermons on being a catalyst...Phillip, Paul, Peter, Barnabas.  Today both services were about catalysts in our church.  Great testimonys!  Everything from ministering to drug/alcohol addictions, teen moms, Upward basketball, and a man giving his business to his son so he can travel all over to build houses for those in need.  Great inspirational stories.

I ate lunch after church and stopped at WalMart.  Now I feel a nap coming on.  Kind of cloudy and dismal out for the 500 Race.  It rained while I was in church but hasn't since.  The businesses love it when the race is rained out but I am kind of glad when it is over.

Hi everyone...just about to get into bed. I wanted to answers a few questions about my photos...especially the ones Etta Sue asked. Hi Etta Sue..hope you are feeling better.....my camcorder has not a brilliant opitical zoom. Only 10x. It has a digitial zoom but I never use it. I got so close to the rabbit because my garden is jumping with them and they are kind of used with me in it. I can use my camcorder as a still camera but what I really like....I can take still pictures off the film just by pressing a button. This gives me the chance to take so many still pictures...especially of wildlife. I can film it and then play it back and take as many pictures as I like. It is really good. ok..bedtime. God bless all
