Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

I posted the above from IE.  I will try again with Firefox.  It won't take anything that I have pasted from something else.  Hmmm!  Oh, well.  Maybe tomorrow it work.

Thanks to all of you for the suggestions about Medicare. I want to remember where this week's writings are, so I can refer to them. Most likely will take retirement before long.

Hi everyone.  We have had an interesting time since I posted yesterday.  Our refrigerator, a Maytag, that is only 5 years old is starting to go out again.  We have already spent about $750 in having it repaired several times with new computer boards and parts plus the labor.  So we went shopping this morning and think we will get a Whirlpool side-by-side as we both like it.  We went to KMart, Lowe's and Home Depot and I was able to use the electric cart in each place so saved my energy.  The final place we went was the Sears Outlet store at a mall but didn't find anything we liked and these were damaged units.  Our unit is still cooling but the ice maker control is going out again that create a loud banging sound about every 30 seconds.

Then yesterday afternoon I decided to install Linspire, the Linux operating system, on my laptop in a dual boot situation.  Thought I had created the necessary partition but apparently when I installed it I whipped out my Windows XP.  Then decided this morning to try to get the Windows XP back on the laptop with the recovery disks but they won't work because they must look for some file that I had destroyed with the other install.  Anyway it has been quite an adventure.  I had a Linspire Recovery Disk that I don't even remember getting and it worked to reinstall the Linspire free version.  I had a paid version that we were allowed to download free through our Computer User Group and now trying to figure out how to get it to install.  Think I will have to get a PCMIA wireless card as right now I have to use an ethernet cable to connect to the router and my wife doesn't want a cable running from my office, down the hall to my easy chair so I can use the Internet when sitting in my easy chair. I just can't understand her attitude.  :)

Need to get back to work so will be brief again today.

I still can't copy and paste what I wrote this morning and saved on Notepad.  So I am typing this from scratch.  Never had this happen before ever.

This has been a so so day.  Lazy day!  Even sat in my swing outside and read my book...a fiction book about Amish.

Time to get in my recliner and get my feet up.  A cold coke sounds good right now!!

I finally got it to work but I don't know how I did it.  Just hang in there with me.

Jane Walker

Etta Sue that really is strange.   :idiot:  I wonder why this is happening.  I clicked "modify" and read your post but it must be written in invisible ink, y'think?
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

I finally got it to work but I don't know what I did.  I did go to PhotoBucket and copied the URL from there for the angel but the bottom graphic is copied from Notepad that I have all my graphic URL's in.

I do notice that when I click on Modify, I didn't put the width and height in there.  Hmmmm!

Hi, friends,

Pat and Larry and the behind the scenes folk I don't know about, I like that "last post" column. It's nice.

It's been so nice to have a relaxed (but busy) day today. And popping in and out of my favorite discussions has been wonderful.

Larry, I've been avoiding the Home Depot and Lowe's around here, because I haven't seen the carts. I think I'll call and ask before I go to shop at those stores. We really need a new front storm door very much, and I've been dreading to go hunt for one because of the too-long "hikes" in those types of stores.

Y'all have a good evening.

Now is the test.  Faithful Pat noticed I had a slash in the wrong place for one of my graphics that I was trying to post yesterday!  Thank you, Pat!

Church was awesome.  Now our sermons are on 'Catalysts Journeys'.  Today was Paul journeying to Philipi.  Just great!

After church was Taco Bell and then WalMart.  Almost home I realized I forgot Cool Whip!  So I put my groceries away and got my three containers for gas for the mower and headed to Lapel.  $48 for three containers of gas and a ½ tank of gas for the car!!  Then to our local grocery store for Cool Whip.

It sure looks like rain any minute.  I noticed the 50 mile round trip to church that there an awful lot of yellow lawns!  We need rain bad.....

:)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)

Janet

I am dashing through today.  I'm leaving in a bit over an hour, so not much time to chat.  I did take Maxine out to see the wildflowers yesterday, and they are awesome!  What a loving God we serve, to make all that beauty for us, just because He loves us!

Etta Sue, glad Pat found your glitch and am happy to see your cute graphics again.

I will not be around this week, so if you happen to think of me, send up a prayer in my behalf, will you?  Nothing wrong, just always can use prayer!  :)

I wish you all a blessed and profitable or restful week.

Hi everyone.  This day has really flown by.  We went to church and it was communion Sunday and, for some reason, a very long service.  We didn't get to the restaurant  until late and then we had to stop at Lowe's to do the paperwork on our new refrigerator.

I had gotten a 10% discount card from them a few days ago and almost threw it away but didn't and it saved us over $160, which paid for an extended warranty.  We don't usually buy these on appliances but with the experience we have been having with refrigerators we decided to have it guaranteed for 5 years made good sense, especially with the ice maker.  It should be delivered on Thursday.  They had to bring it from a warehouse in south Georgia.

Ruth Ann, the carts at Lowe's were in the front over by the return/service window.  At Home Depot they were inside as I came in the doors.  What a difference they made in how I felt when we finished shopping.  I hate to admit I have reached that point with my heart but it seems to be the case that, while I can walk very well, after a short distance I get extremely tired and it usually leaves me exhausted for the rest of the day.

As we came out of Lowe's we had a very brief little rain and it sure felt good.  Unfortunately by the time we stopped at the library close to home it had stopped or perhaps had never rained here.  We are just burning up with the drought.

Sarah, sorry your knee is bothering you.  You certainly do work a lot.

Etta Sue, glad you found the problem with your postings.  That can be so frustrating.

Janet, hope you have a lovely week.

Hi Jane and all who post later today.

Thanks to Pat for getting us back online today.  When I came here to CP this AM, ist said there was a data error of some kind.  I called Pat, and she contacted Ian, and here we are!

We're gradually getting ready for a trip starting next Sunday.  We're going up to Olympia to see the second grandaughter graduate from HS.  Like her sister, she got a 3.96 avg. over the four years!  So, obviously, we have to go.  We're going to only go as far as Medford, OR the first day, then Salem, OR, then Olympia, stay at Tacoma, then head back down again.  Thankfully our son (whoe daughter is graduating) had frequent stay points at  Marriott, so we get that in all three places.  Thank the Lord!

Samantha

Etta Sue, what is the name of your book?  I like books about the Amish.

Later,
Samantha
