JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

As I was praying this morning my mind kept wandering off to the things I have to do today, and the Lord told me very plainly that I need to stop being so busy with the things I want to get done and spend more time doing the things HE wanted me to get done. His words were so clear, "GET INTO THE WORD, STUDY THE WORD" rang so clearly in my ears.

Today is also Gilbert's birthday, I think Forest and Savannah both have soccer games today, but I do want to spend sometime with my son.

I got a call yesterday for more work, that will probably be one day per week helping someone with some housework, her husband doesn't want anyone but her to take care of him and she is having carpel tunnel surgery. I will go talk to them on Monday morning.

Liz and pat I am glad you enjoyed the Horse video, I agree Pat just think with those tiny movements he controlled the horse's movement. I think too that they had practiced so much to that music that the horse knew what to do and when to do the next move. It sure looked like she was dancing didn't it.
So sorry Jane, Judy and Al that you could not view the fantastic performance.

Ruth Ann have a safe trip, you are off and running again, your feet hit the floor running every day.

Liz it sounds like a lot of things will be happening at home real soon. Lots of noise too. Has the traffic slowed any going down your street?

I have an unspoken prayer request for a good friend's grandson. Please pray for him. I am sorry that I can't mention the name or the need here.

I ave posted another of my great easy recipes HERE

Marilyn ~ That is one fabulous horse.  Amazing!  And I am not even into horses but this one I could watch!

I am getting stir crazy.  I just called my step-daughter and had to leave a message.  I think I will head to her house anyway.  I am going to get in the shower, get dressed and take off to somewhere.  Where?  I don't know!  Just get out of this house for a few hours.  I feel like I am alone in the universe.  I need to get with some people somewhere.  I don't like this feeling.  I know God is with me but I can't get this feeling to go away!

Pat

Etta Sue, come on up here and have a cup of tea or coffee with me.  I'd love to see you.

Carol

Greetings from the heart of London.  We will be here two nights and then off on a train to Edinburgh.  London used to be our favorite city - it just isn't anymore with the packed like sardines in a can on the tube and other things - very rough looking people about.  Lots of sirens today.  A protest about Burma in Trafalger Square and so forth.  Problems on the tube & stations shut & we came early with our luggage - so glad to finally get to the hotel.

We had a wonderful day in Worcester yesterday.  Sorry if the spelling isn't correct.  We went into the ancient cathederal and I prayed for peace at a special place that is meant just for those prayers.  It was so lovely and such a lovely place.  I was reminded of centuries of praying in that place.

Back in three weeks.  Carol

Pat

Ohhhh, Worcester!  Love that place.  I bought my Evesham dishes there at the plant.

Enjoy your visit and get loads of photos, Carol.

Oh Carol how I envy you.  Pat and I were going to take a trip to the isles at some point, but that is on hold till further notice.  How I would love to go back.

ES I understand how you are feeling.  Yes head to Pat's and have a visit with her.  She will keep you company.

Pat Is the weather as dreary down there as it is here?  Rain and fog all day.  The kind of day I would love to curl up in fromt of a special fireplace and read.  Pink stone.  Those were the days.

Well I have been baking and preparing food for tomorrow.  I am dooking the veggies today and John will stuff the turkey tonight as well.  He won't be home till 11 tonight, but, he would feel misplaced if I took that away from him.  The kids would be miffed as well, they like his stuffing better than mine!

Got to run, time is awaisting.  I may be back tonight.

Hi everyone.  I really got behind here as had 45 postings to read.  This has been a very busy last couple of days.  Today was really full as had a meeting this morning and then we spent all afternoon checking out some apartments for our daughter and looking for some others.  Unfortunately, the places we checked had hills or steep inclines and she just isn't able to walk up hills or walk long distances to the bus stop, which is her means of transportation.  She was hoping to be able to leave where she is by the 15th but that doesn't appear possible at the moment.

I am very tired tonight so am not going to try to write a long post.

Pat

Nice to see you Larry.  Best to get some rest so you can go to church tomorrow.

Yes, Judy, those were the days for sure.

By the way, Judy, what does "dooking" mean?  ;)

Janet says "Hi" to you.  We've been chatting on the phone as she travels in the bus.  It's great to have this phone service.  And I can even hear on the phone when the leader tells a joke!  HAHAHA!

Hi everyone.  Rather than wait all day to post today I will go ahead even though I posted late last night.  I had a good 8 hours of sleep and feel much better today.  However, once again this will be a busy day.  We are going to church and then out to lunch at I-HOP and then will take our daughter back to her apartment stopping at Krogers.

Glad to see Carol posting and know they had made it safely to England.

Pat, thanks for sharing word on Janet.  I hope they are having a great time on their bus trip.  I am sure she can use the change of pace.  It is nice you can speak to her on the phone while she is on the bus.  Isn't technology something to behold.  Hope the situation works out for your good friend.

Rather than be a day late I want to be a day early to wish all my friends in Canada "Happy Thanksgiving".  Our Thanksgiving Day comes up late next month.

Etta Sue, sounds like it is time to get in your car and take a little road trip to get away for a day or so.  Hope you aren't too lonely today.

Marilyn, I hope Gilbert is successful in getting the job he would like.  It sounds like her has the qualifications.  It sounds like the man you are caring for is really in a bad situaiton.

Francine, glad you are feeling comfortable here on the CP site.  I have known a number of the folks that post here for a number of years and we always are happy to have new friends join in the conversation.  You will shortly feel that you know many of us from the daily postings as we share a little bit of our joys and sorrows and what keeps us busy each day.

Judy, it is nice that you are able to have flexibility in your school schedule.  We have school buses that pick up children as early as 6:30 in the morning and some get home shortly before 5 pm.

Sarah, I hope that 100 plus hours wasn't for one week.  Don't forget to take some time for yourself.

Liz, I don't think I have ever seen how lawn bowling is done.  Is it anything like bocce ball or croquet?  Glad you are feeling up to playing the game.  The renovation of the home where you live doesn't sound like something to look forward to but am sure it will be very nice when it is done.

Ruth Ann, hope you have a great weekend in Atlanta.

Well, I haven't addressed everyone but I assure you I enjoyed each and every post.  If I don't address you in a posting I assure you it isn't personal but just didn't think of anything particular to say or have run out of time.

Hope today is a wonderful day as we worship our Lord and Savior

I usually don't use an alarm clock, because I just wake up naturally at pretty much the right time.  Today was very, very different.  Turned over to look at the clock radio, and lo and behold, it was 7:30 already!  (I usually get up at anywhere from 5 to 6).  So, moving right along, I'll have to have breakfast quickly and get out of here to get to church by 10.  Looks like a beautiful day out there.

Pat

We had an awful thunder and lightning storm last night and many trees are down in Guelph.  The transformer just outside the church was hit and what I heard was that out of "three phases", two were knoced out leaving one.  So one side of the auditorium was lit (and it was the side where the windows are!!) and the rest of us were in the dark.  The organ plug worked as did the Pastor's microphone but nothing else.

but we had a wonderful service.

Aaron, my g-nephew, called last evening to see if I would like to go out to eat.  We went to O'Charley's.  We had to wait 20 minutes to get a table.  Then we waited and waited for a server.  Finally a man asked us if we had been served yet?  No.  So he took our drink orders and said Heather would be over soon to take our food order.  He brought back our drinks but no Heather.  Across the aisle a couple that came up while we were waiting outside was seated.  Finally the same guy that brought our drinks took our food order...30 minutes after we got a table.  The couple across the aisle got their steak dinners.  We waited.  Waited.  Finally our Fried Chicken Salads came.  The couple across the aisle was done and left.  The guy brought us our bills...they were together...we told him separate.  So he left.  He brought back separate bills.  Mine was $12.07.  My salad was $8.99 and I ordered water.  I put a $20 with the bill.  The guy came back.  I told him my bill wasn't right...I had water instead of the $2.19 iced tea.  So he left and brought me a $10 bill.  HMmmm $2.19 plus tax should be more than $2.07!!  He asked me if something was wrong.  I told him that the drink that I was charged was $2.19 plus tax so I should have some change.  So he left and brought me back a dollar bill which was too much.  Needless to say I didn't leave a tip.  That is the first time that I haven't left a tip for years but the service was terrible!!

Today, I went to church.  Ate lunch and then went to help Walter with his software aphasia lessons.  My cell phone rang.  I had set my Security System at the house and forwarded my home phone to my cell phone.  It was the Security company, saying that someone came in my house and the alarm went off.  I told him I was in Greenfield but it was probably my sister or brother.  He asked if I wanted the police to come out.  I said no, I would call my sister to see if she was in my house...if not, I will call the police and tell them someone is in my house.  Ivalou said I told her last night to come over and get her mail...I don't remember saying that.  Why would I set my alarm if I said that?  So she was in the house!  I left Walter and Nancy's and I saw Ivalou leave her driveway when I was about a quarter of a mile away.  She went to her son's house for a granddaughter's birthday.

As soon as I got home, I mowed my yard!  It is done for another week or so.  Kaye Don and Barb are home and she came over and got her mail and paper.

And Pat, if I had a passport, you might have seen me on your doorstep!!  That sounds like fun!!  Why don't you move to the US of A?

I'll be back later!!!  It's my turn on Sunday night!

Pat:  Thanks for the link to the dog treats, I had found something here at home but was not happy with the results so will give this  link a try.

Marilyn:  I enjoyed the horse video as well.

Yesterday we went to the Erin fair and on our way home about 11 pm or so we drove through the thunderstorm that Pat had in Guelph although here at home we did not get near as much rain.   Then today we went with friends out for dinner and tomorrow we will be going to our daughters for dinner, then back to work on Tuesday.

We have been having some very warm days as well although nice it does seem to warm for the time of year. Best not complain as winter driving is not fun.

Have a good nights rest everyone.      Ruth

It's that time again....time for a new week!  Thought for the Week of October 7 is here.
