Tbear - thanks so much for dropping back and filling us in on things.  I do pray that our Father will so deal with your sister that, in whatever way He knows is best, this seemingly awful experience will bring good.  And I pray, Father, that You will so bless Tbear and her family that they may see Your good hand even in the midst of sorrow.

Ed - thank YOU for dropping in also.  I do pray for Jim that our Father will do His powerful work of grace in his heart.  And I also pray, Father, that You will fill Ed's daughter's heart with courage and turn her thoughts to Yourself.  Through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Hello everyone!

I haven't been around for a while.  Been swamped with homeschooling and starting my business and getting my website up and running.  I'm still working on it and haven't officially "opened to the public" yet, but I am getting there.  Feel free to stop by view my images and sign my guestbook.  I have to approve comments before they post, so be advised that they won't show up immediately and it doesn't mean your comment didn't work.  shekinahphotography.com

Pat-As far as I know my eyes haven't progressed.  I will have my next check up in about 6 months and will find out for sure, then.  Sometimes I think they may be a little worse.  I'm trying contacts because I am really struggling to see if things are in focus when I shoot (mainly due to my astigmetism) and I can't use glasses when I'm shooting.  It's frustrating, but i'm dealing with it.

Hope all's well with you all.  I haven't read all the latest posts to see what's up with you all.  I'm sure there are lots of new people around here, as well.  WELCOME!!!

I hope to stop by more often, but I can only spend so much time on the computer due to my eyes and pain issues.  Thanks for understanding and I do keep you in my prayers.

blessings, Kathleen

Thanks for the update, Kathleen.

I've wondered about those eyes.  We'll all keep praying.  Love your photo you posted in the Challenge.

There are certainly some good ones in there.

Nice website, Kathleen.  Will have a better look tomorrow.

Talk to you soon,

Love

Your welcome.  Thanks so much for remembering me in your prayers.
Glad you like the photo.  It's one of my first attempts at abstract.  Not really into it, but I love fall!  I'm hoping to enter three more.     Yeah, wow there are some awesome ones in there already.  I love the one you took on your way to Virginia!  I was in NC last fall and wow was it pretty.  Hey, can we enter ones from previous years or just this fall?

Thanks.  I welcome comments and suggestions.  I'm totally new to this stuff and am learning HTML and CSS.  UGH!!!  I'm almost too old to learn new tricks, but I'm attempting to customize my site.

I like the new things on the CP website.  Love the colored text!  It's fun!  The Hi Kathleen! you put in the shout box really jumped out at me.   :thumbsup2:

Blessings, Kathleen

Kathleen, please do enter in three from other years.  It will be fine.  Maybe later we'll suggest that folks will take photos just for that specific challenge but we're just bringing these back after a very long absence so just go ahead.

Glad you saw my "shout!"

(It's just so nice to have you back!   <3

Just over in the glory land
(Click to hear music)

I've a home prepared where the saints abide
Just over in the glory land
And I long to be by my Saviour's side
Just over in the glory land

Just over in the glory land
I'll join the happy angel band
Just over in the glory land
Just over in the glory land
There with the mighty host I'll stand
Just over in the glory land

I am on my way to those mansions fair
Just over in the glory land
There to sing God's praises and his glory share
Just over in the glory land

Refrain

What a joyful thought that my Lord I'll see
Just over in the glory land
And with kindred saved, there forever be
Just over in the glory land

Refrain

With the blood washed throng I will shout and sing
Just over in the glory land
Glad hosannas to Christ, the Lord and King
Just over in the glory land

Refrain

Good Morning I have been waking up earlier and earlier each morning. This morning it was 1:30 and could not go back to sleep so I laid there and prayed. I have a slight headache. I didn't use my CPAP machine last  night because I have a tender place on my nose where the mask rubs. That could be why I didn't sleep and have the headache.

I must cook a Lasagna for the Pastor's Appreciation potluck before I go to church , I already took my Raw Apple cake over yesterday.  Tonight we, as a church, are going to Eureka First Assembly for a Holy Ghost night of  music and Pastor Danny is going to give the message. Several other churches are going too. Arcata First Baptist will be there this morning and tonight. It's so nice that churches of other denominations can come together for these meetings and celebrations.

I finally got to mow yesterday even though the grass was wet, Bill worked on getting the mower started all afternoon on Friday and then it needed a new spark plug and he got that for me when he went to take his dog Storm for a bath at the groomer. It sure is nice to have great neighbors, and someone to fix things.

I took Fay to breakfast yesterday she is 98 now and her legs aren't as strong as the used to be, but she is doing well, it is so amazing that she takes no meds and  gets around as well as she does and still in her own home.

Yesterday I had a long post in here about my Social Security and working but I deleted because there was information there that should not have been on the Internet. It was suggested that I get a job in a Care Home, They will not hire me at my age and for the reason on the previous page. Who wants someone 67 years old working in a Care Home. They would be afraid I would get hurt.

Must go now I am talking too much.

Hi everyone.  It is another beautiful Sunday morning here in Georgia.  Today is a special day in our church as we make our financial pledges to the church for next year.  There is a luncheon after the service and we have a special minister to deliver the sermon this morning.

Tbear, nice to see you posting but certainly sorry to hear of the sad news in your family.  However, it sounds like things are going well with your immediately family.  Glad you like your new job at the school.

Kathleen, also good to see your posting and hope you get a good report on your eyes.

Ed, also glad to see you posting.  It sounds like your class reunion is quite a job.  I did a family reunion last year that turned into a big job so have some indication of what is involved.

Ruth, my wife has a serger but I don't think she uses it very often.  In fact, this is the second serger she has had as the first one was difficult to thread so she just didn't use it.  However, the serger is quite a machine.

Nita, hope you find some good spots for the photos.  It sounds like your family has its hands full.  Relationships can become so difficult.

Etta Sue, glad you were all there to check out the electrical problem.  That creates a definite smell.  Sorry to hear of the illnesses of the children of your friends.  It seems so many people have cancer.

Janet, hope you got your painting projects advanced yesterday.

Marilyn, that makes a very long night when you wake up so early.  Hope you slept much better last night.

Hi Al, Pat, JudyB and all who stop by CP today.

Carol

Pat:  Loved the song, "Until Then".  Thanks a bunch.  You are making home runs with the music!

TBear:  Nice to 'see' you!.  Congrats on losing a weight - I need to get serious - starting Monday as December is a physical.  Glad that you came in here with your serious concerns - we can all pray.

Nita:  You do have concerns - I hope that your g-daughter living in the house doesn't raise these concerns too often with you and you can keep her spirits up as well as your own.  Best to you.

Marilyn:  Who wouldn't want you - I certainly would.  You are such a hard worker and so upbeat.  Not to mention, a good momma to those doggies.

Ruth:  I have a serger and it certainly has never been used for so many things it could possibly do - it is great for making pillow cases though.  Hope yours keeps on working for you.

Ed:  I used to get so ticked when Christmas shopping came earlier and earlier and now I am thinking - maybe people need to be reminded of the Birth of Christ even earlier each year - secular or not, it just says Christmas in such a glaring way.  Our town is in a flap - the city board wants only white lights and not on a tree.  Since when did colored lights and a tree (German tradition) come from a religious background?????  So, about 85% voted in the newspaper for the colored lights but I am sure that one muslim in town will stop that - it gets my dander up for sure.  Anyway-----that is my thought on Christmas today.

Larry:  Please read my note to Ed - above.  I am getting so excited about your meeting with son and family - do you have a date in mind?  Hi to Pat! Take care of yourselves.

Here, Don is still wheezing a little - this has been some awful crud.  We had better stay home this morning as he doesn't dare pick up any more germs - he can't be contagious now.  Friends may come here this afternoon.

I had some free time last night while waiting for a phone call and so I scrolled down our FUN STUFF area and posted in many!

We also have a new "Choose a Caption" in there.

Have a look!

I have read all the prayer requests and updates and prayed and praised accordingly.

Thanks, Larry---yes, I completed the two projects and am really happy about it, as I was concerned about not having time to do them after we get home.  Both projects I painted were white poinsettias on rosewood colored things, one a tray, the other a box.  The flowers have pink touches, and look nice on the reddish wood.

It is such a beautiful day here, I think I will go for a walk and enjoy it.  I had a wonderful time last evening, holding and enjoying little Alexis, my great granddaughter.  Babies are just SOOO sweet!!

Good afternoon.

Ruth ~ Now would I steer you wrong when I said that Green Tomato Pie is good?

I had a night of very little sleep but still got up and went to church.  Then I ate lunch and went to Hallmark store.  I had told Nancy that I would come there and work with Walter with his speech but I didn't feel up to it.  But instead of calling, I decided to go see them and tell her in person.  What a hectic house.  She was on the phone with Dell trying to get her computer going.  Then she was in a rush to be somewhere by 2pm.  Come to find out, she hadn't turned back her wrist watch and thought it was 2pm when it was really 1pm.  So chatted for awhile and then I left.

Nice and sunny out there today but cloudy and windy.  When a cloud goes in front of the sun, it is almost dark!  And only 53°!

As Arnold would say....'I'll be back'.....later!

Wonderful music, Pat.  I love the old music because each song tells a story.  A story with something positive about God's love...

Nice to read all the posts, tho' it was somewhat time consuming.  Good to see many posting again after an absence and I will try to pray for all the requests.

I agree with Carol, Marilyn.  You are a kind and caring person and would be a blessing to any patient.

We are having the usual wet, dry, cold, even sun, days here on the island.  Sometimes all in one day!  Wendy and I went for a flu shot on Friday and both felt a little ill yest.  Still, for us, it seems to help in not having a horrid, long illness, when the the bug comes round. I have been doing a little carpet bowling again and we are having a group from the big city this thursday, so will be bringing my butter tarts.  We have them come for lunch and then play three games.  Nice group of people and always fun.  Not enough hours in the day for everything.  Especially my hobby of art....Have a huge rack of clothes to iron this afternoon, made dinner last night, and so it goes.....Gramie get tuckered ::)

Watched my church progr.'s this morning and enjoyed both.  Misty wanted to stay inside, so sat on my lap and purred while we watched.  Glad she didn't try to sing.  My granddaughter showed me some 'talking cats' on Youtube yest.....sure hope Misty and Squeek don't start that next.

Here is a little poem that I enjoyed, hope someone else will also:

FAITH IS STRONGER THAN MY FEARS

Sometimes my cross is hard to bear
for there is darkness everywhere,
and troubles pile around my door
like autumn leaves forevermore.

The morning light seems far away,
like I am stuck in yesterday.
My heart is beating like a drum -
I try to pray, but words won't come.

But then the sun begins to rise
and hope is born within my eyes.
A rainbow forms among my tears
for faith is stronger than my fears!

I sought the Lord
and he heard me,
and delivered me
from all my fears.

  Ps. 34:4

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless. :)

Thanks for the lovely poem, Liz and the scripture verse.

I got the lawn cut yesterday so that's it for this year.  It's been chilly here too.

I'm trying to learn your site, and having a bit of trouble deciphering everything.  Is there a section that covers "technical" stuff about photography?  I couldn't really find anything, but that doesn't mean a whole lot.  I have only been to two forums in my life, and they are both completely different from this one, so I am trying to get my footing here.  :)

I know this is the spot where people hang out most, but it is so consuming, I'm not sure I can spend much time here.   :(  I am going to try though because I realy want to get to know everyone.

Now is it my understanding that there was supposed to be a new thread for this topic started today and a new one every Sunday?

Well, anyway, it's nice to meet you all and I hope to learn a lot while I am here.

Liz it is interesting that you would use that chapter in your post today.  The verses I quoted from you are the verses that our new Pastor used in his service.  I can see our family growing in faith as a result of his ministry.  He is amazing.

Etta Sue and Pat   we should have three wayed a phone call.  I too was up late....errr early I mean, early morning.  I hate it when I go to bed stewing, and can't sleep.

I am cutting off short today.  John is home and has to go again tomorrow.  Talk about a quick turn around.

Night all
God Bless
