JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

I'm taking it easy with the wallpaper removal.  I'm just doing a bit at a time.  I bought the paint and as soon as I get all the paper off, I'll get the paint on the walls.  It's needed to be done for a long time.

The Chocolate Party last night was great. One of the gals had bought things for the prize baskets, like a chocolate candle, chocolate bath soap, chocolate lotion, a chocolate pedicure etc, Plus some of our products were in the baskets too.

Every one was served  our products and we did a toast with the liquid product. A doctor was there who had brought all his research, videos of people who use the product.

Anyway it was so interesting and a lot of fun. I got home about 10 pm past my bedtime so I slept in until 6 :45, WOW two whole hours longer than usual Yippee.
There is another training meeting going on for 8 til noon, but I am not going. I am going to use today as a day of rest maybe go see the grands.

Well, it is Saturday morning again.  We have a beautiful day with sunshine, low humidity, and just 65 degrees.  Later it will get up to 75 degrees.

Pat I will try to get the little man with beard and cane to appear.

Tonight we are having a birthday party for our grandson, David.  He will be 17 and is our youngest of our grandchildren.

Something for us to think about today:

16 There are six things the LORD hates,
seven that are detestable to him:
17 haughty eyes,
       a lying tongue,
       hands that shed innocent blood,
18 a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil,
19 a false witness who pours out lies
and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.

Great!  There's Papa John's little man with his cane!  Now it looks like a Papa John post.  And thank you, Papa John, for the Bible verses that you share with us with each post!

Not much happening around here today.  Last evening, Ivalou and I went to the Lapel Lion's Club Fish Fry.  We saw lots of people we haven't seen for a long time.  Also heard the Lapel Community Band...very good AND Elvis was at Lapel, Indiana, last evening!!  ::)  I know because he even kissed me on my left cheek!!!   <3

Ivalou called me this morning saying she was going to be gone because she was taking Barb, our SIL, to MedCheck or the ER.  Kaye Don is in Michigan on his cycle.  Seems she has a bad cold that she thinks needs some kind of attention.  She is the one that suffers from depression...main simpton is imaginary health problems that are real to her!  Well, the cold isn't imaginary but she has probably had at least 72 bad colds in her life before so she ought to know they run their course and you are over them.  Just take something to make yourself more comfortable and wait!  Sorry!  A way for her to get attention and not be alone when Kaye Don is gone!

Question on photography?

How do I level out the horizon in one of my photos? Using PSP or Photoshop?

Janet

Hello from a very tired and sleepy Janet.  I had another of those sleepless nights last night, finally gave up sometime after three this morning and got up.

We had a horrible tragedy here in our small town on Friday.  A young family that attends our church......in the rush to get off to work on Friday morning, the dad took the 7 months old baby girl and put her in the car seat in the Mom's car.  He was usually the one to take her to the baby sitter.....I guess they had a miscommunication....anyway, when the Dad got off work, he went to the baby sitter's to pick up the baby, and she hadn't been there, so he called his wife.  She ran out to the car and found the baby dead.  Temps here reached 92 degrees that day.  The car was parked in front of our hospital, where the mother works.  They have two older children, and are very loving and attentive parents.  The funeral will be in our church Monday morning.  So terribly heartbreaking........I pray they will not press charges against them.  There was an autopsy, and so much pain already.  Please pray for the Bose family.  They have an older boy and girl, too.   :'( :'( :'(

I scrap booked today, got several pages done in spite of feeling so weary.

Thanks, Larry.  I hope we got things straightened out for Mom yesterday, but don't know for sure yet.

I will talk to you all later!

Ohhh Janet what a terrible thing to have happened.  I am praying.

If anyone comes into the room this morning please pray for our membership.  There is a vote on a new Senior Pastor.  John and I had about 10 questions and so we wrote him (email) and asked.  He answered so where we were sitting on the fence we have now got off and are sure of our vote.  Voting in a new pastor is always a serious thing.

I have the most trouble with my arm at night.  Janet sounds like you had pain last night as well?  I have to lie on my back, not on either side as that just gets things going and I am then awake all night.  Sleeping on my back is so difficult for me.  When I do though the pain is not too bad.

We have had our first frost of the year.  The trees didn't wait for the weather they are already turning colour.  Everything this morning was all bright and white.  I don't like the cold of winter but I do love the fresh cleanness of it.

Well I am off have the grands to pick up for church.  Bye for now.

Ohhh, Janet!  What a terrible tragedy indeed.  I'm praying.

Thanks Papa John!  The scripture portion really leaves us thinking.  Thanks for sharing.

Marilyn ~ My PSP8 and Corel 10 has a straightening tool that works great.  Just put one end on the left and one on the right on the horizon and then click the green check mark above and it straightens it.  A lopsided horizon doesn't work!!   ::)

Janet ~ I am praying.  The Bose family has and will go through enough without charges being pressed.

Church was great.  A Sunday for recruiting helpers for the various needs of the church.  Then I ate breakfast at a family restaurant and then went to GNC.  It didn't open until noon so I lolly-gagged in Kroger until it was time to go to GNC.  Course I bought something at each store...  ^-^

Now it is such a lovely day.  This morning looked like rain any time and the sky was full of clouds.  When I got out of church, not a cloud in sight.  Bright and sunny and a crisp 65°.  I could handle this temperature year round!

Janet, what a sad thing for this family.  It is a mother's worst nightmare and the whole family needs our prayers.  It is the worst kind of accident.  I pray that God will be with them.
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6

Moses promise to Israel is a promise to God's people, his people then, and his people today.  "Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me." Hebrews 13:5-6

I hope you all are having a good Lord's day today.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  We did something different this morning and went out to eat breakfast rather than go out to lunch with the church group.  Since I go to coffee with my friends the other 6 days of the week this gave Pat and I the opportunity to go out to breakfast.  One of our favorite places has just starting being open for breakfast on the weekend.  Pat and split a very good omelet and enjoyed it.  We got home just in time to turn around and go back to church.  The choir was in the loft but didn't sing today as our director is in California for a vacation.  We had a soloist for the anthem.  We then came home and rested awhile and I am now watching the Atlanta Falcon's football game.

Janet, we have had a number of similar tragedies in this area and they are extremely sad.  Unfortunately, very often the authorities bring charges against one of the parents but I agree this is just a terrible occurrence and the parents will be paying a very big price for the rest of their lives.

Not much else to write about today so will be brief today.

Carol

Pat:  I was just going to say ' Have fun stripping!   ;D

Larry:  Things are almost all worked out but there are some glaring empty spots not taken care of for our trip.  These involve people who have not responded and other things.  We will make it work though Don still feels the stress/work that needs to be done.  Tomorrow, he will call to England on SKYPE and try to get a place booked at one town.

Al:  Good question!  Am totally frustrated with the felons committed by these people and nothing is done.

We had a super time with all the children this weekend - renting cabins & a double one with a big porch is where Don & I shared.  They all want to do this again next year.  It is wonderful - cell phones don't work back in those hills so they all were so at ease - everyone was at peace with each other.  Somebody, please send me a good scripture of thankfulness - I have prayed for this for so many years.  You can tell me right here, I will check back until Wednesday.

Too tired to unpack - it took us over 4 hours to go 100 plus miles - this dreadful traffice & horrible speeders - left lane hogs -

Carol

Carol - the Scripture I often consider regarding thankfulness actually doesn't mention  thankfulness at all, yet it is right to the point.  It's Ps. 116:12-14.  The question is as to what the psalmist could give the Lord in thankfulness for all His goodness to him.  The answer is to the effect that the best thankfulness he could render was to TAKE "the cup of salvation..."  We can repay nothing to our Lord.  But when we take all He has to offer, then it brings joy to Him!

Janet tell the Bose family that my the assembly Church in McKinleyville California is praying for them. I stood in for them at prayer meeting this evening.

Janet

Thank you all so much for your prayers and concern for the Boese family.  (I found out that is the correct spelling.)  Our service today was pretty solemn, and much prayer for the hurting family.  Our pastor emailed every other pastor in town whose email addresses he had, asking them to be in prayer for him, the family and the church.  He feels this may be the seed for a revival in SW Kansas, and his prayer is that souls be saved in the service tomorrow morning.  We know there are unsaved ones in the baby's family, and the best possible outcome would be for them to come to know the Lord.

The congregation took anointing oil and anointed every pew and door, and also every chair in the fellowship hall, which will be used for the overflow crowd.  Before ending the service, the pastor and his wife anointed each person who plans to be at the funeral, and prayed over us individually.  May God draw us all closer to Him through this terrible happening.

A scrap booking friend's husband here writes songs, and he had a concert at another church (theirs) tonight, and since we didn't have services because the funeral home was setting up for the funeral, we went to Steve's concert.  It was great!  What a ministry this man has through the songs he writes!  He played four different guitars, and is really good.  It was such a nice change from thinking about that poor baby.

I will be back to open the new week, shortly.

Prayer is on going today for thisd family.

We had the vote for the new pastor and it was unanamous!  We had been praying for that.  John and I had a few unresolved questions so at the 11th hour we sent an email and got good replies.  We are at peace with the decision.

John parked his tractor and trailler in the church parking lot.  So often churches say "No Semi's!" that our church has made the decision that trucks and truck drivers are welcome.  With those words many truck drivers have no where to go for church and as a result many drift.  The message was good....Pastor Jeff preached on the frut of the Spirit Peace, part 3 of a series.  We have watched him grow in  the past year and a half.

Well Must go, I am tired and have a big day tomorrow.
Love JudyB
